This egg sandwich has to be one of the best I've had. It was fresh and tasty. Bread was soft but with a crispy top... Yummy. The balsamic lemon drizzle she makes from scratch. It is delicious! The sandwich wasn't heavy on the tummy. Cappuccino was delightful. Tried the beef sambusas...crispy and meat well seasoned. The woman was so friendly and cheerful. Definitely recommend trying this place.
Excellent experience... The owner is so nice what a great place. I only tried two items on my first visit. The breakfast sandwich was a nice size and delicious. The cappuccino was so good. You can take out or eat in.
We really enjoyed the food here. I got the egg sandwich and it was exceptional, so well seasoned. My wife got the fava bean dish, which was also so good. Freshly made food with very attentive service. Definitely worth the visit.
The Eritrean food is delicious, healthy and homemade. The owner very friendly and attentive. Definitely can recommend the Veggie Combo plate with injera bread which is very reasonably priced. Nice cafe/dining area. Hope to return soon to try the coffee!
I visited this coffee shop this morning, and I can't recommend it enough! The owner, a lovely lady from Eritrea (in Africa), serves delicious handmade sambusas along with coffee and other items. The sambusas are crispy and packed with flavor, and the sauce that comes with them is great, too. Personally, I prefer the beef sambusas over the lentil ones. What really blew me away was the price—$10 for a cappuccino and four sambusas! You just can't beat that kind of deal. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with great food and even better prices, this is the place to be. I'll definitely be coming back!
Recently discovered this small family-owned Ethiopian café near my home and I'm absolutely impressed! Tried their sambusas - 4 for $6, and they were excellent. We got 2 lentil and 2 beef, each one bursting with flavor, especially when paired with their delicious red sauce. Beyond the food, the service was friendly and attentive, and the fast Wi-Fi is a bonus. Definitely a hidden gem that I'll be returning to very soon!
Wonderful meal and excellent service! Would definitely recommend the beef sambusas they were delicious and the sauce was incredible
Best Eritrean Cafe/Restaurant in the City Heights area. The owner, who also happens to be the Chef is a very humble Lady. The food is delicious 😋🤤, 10/10. Vegan options are also available. I highly recommend this place.

Very warm owner. Great food. Tiff dough was very new and tasty. Veggie combo with meat was delicious
The best coffee in City Heights, and the food is fresh and delicious, the owner and chef is a very nice lady.
10/10 food and extremely generous portions. I got the foul / fava beans, beef sambusas, and frittata and they were all amazing!
Clean. Small but friendly lady! We asked for combos, took a minute but thats because she made it fresh!! My kids and I enjoyed it!
Probably one of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had. Fresh and amazing taste, I will be here everytime I’m in that side of town
This little gem offers Eritrean and Ethiopian food. I had the four sambusas, two with lentils and two with ground beef. They also make coffee and espresso, so I had the lady make me a coffee and hot milk. The sambusas were fantastic. The pastry had a very good texture and was tasty. The lentils were delicious and well seasoned. The ground beef, too, was very good and aggressively seasoned in a good way. The red dry sambusa sauce that came with the dish was fantastic. The lady who was running the place was very nice and attentive. She definitely liked to put smiles in people's faces. The place is small but does offer several tables. Only street parking is available.
The food here is so amazing, and the pricing is beyond reasonable. The egg sandwich? Life changing! I have been thinking about it all day since my visit. The sambusas are also so good as well as their cappuccino. The service was also great. The lady was so sweet and attentive and kept checking in on us. I will definitely stop by anytime I find myself in San Diego.
I went to this cafe restaurant as part of a Meetup with an international group. There were 13 of us and the owner, Jordan, is also the chef so I am impressed with how she was able to serve our group efficiently on her own! Her daughter was the waitress and patient with all of us. I ordered the fish sandwich, that was so delicious! The tilapia fish and potato slices were both warm, the bread was toasted, and the veggies fresh. Portion is generous and price is decent. Was lovely to meet the owner when she introduced herself to our group, and you can tell she works hard living her dream of opening this East African cuisine restaurant.
Wonderful customer service and good food!! Me and my family enjoyed our visit to this little coffee. I absolutely recommend, if you want to enjoy authentic experience of a little travel to the horn of Africa.

Wow - amazing amazing food! Such great care and service, too. The samosas were my favorite and the red sauce on the side is special. Definitely worth a visit :-) For sit in or takeout either way cannot go wrong.
