The sushi just melts in your mouth. Very nice cuts of sushi. The rolls were very flavorful. You can definitely taste the freshness of the fish. Prices are fair for what you get. Now, definitely one of my favorite sushi spots. Ill be coming back again. Staff is very nice and attentive. Cute little sushi spot.
So good! The Spicy Lobster roll was amazing and had a lot of meat, I got the spider roll (soft shell crab) which is always good, I special requested quail eggs wrapped in seaweed with rice(not on menu). The green tea has matcha, so it is very nice and flavorful. The Owner and employees are from Japan and very nice. Limited seating but worth the wait!
We would come here every week if we could! The #17 roll is the best sushi roll I’ve ever had. The sushi chefs are awesome and have learned our go to orders and what we might like trying. All around our favorite place to get sushi!
We’ve eaten at practically every sushi spot in San Diego and nothing comes close to the quality you get here. Tony and Sue always deliver amazing customer service and the sushi is consistently fresh and top-tier. My whole family is full of sushi addicts and we still haven’t found anywhere that compares to Mr. Sushi. Our favorites include the La Bamba hand roll, the shrimp tempura roll, crunchy roll and the halibut sashimi with spicy sauce, everything is absolutely delicious!
It was my kids' first trip to see the ocean, so we went to Mission Beach. They also wanted to try fresh sushi, so we randomly picked Mister Sushi. I got a couple of California rolls because I knew they'd eat those, and a rainbow roll because I knew I'd eat that. Turns out, they all loved the rainbow roll even more than the California rolls! Service was fast and our server was so welcoming. Best sushi I've had. If we ever get back to the area, we'd definitely be repeat customers.
My favorite sushi place in Southern California. Naoki is an awesome sushi chef, he is like an artist preparing sushi! Excellent food, and atmosphere!
Small restaurant but really good sushi and service. We tried the market fish they had on special for the night and you could tell it was really fresh. I would say the price per roll is what you would expect given the higher quality.
So glad I made a reservation here! Had a California roll and tried a rainbow roll-- they were both delicious. Service was excellent as well, and the prices were great considering how good the sushi was! Excited to go back and try something new.
Very good service, food is yummy 😋. Staffs and ower are so nice.
Really great sushi without the huge lines and nice service. Small, dive atmosphere.
Very small quaint Japanese sushi spot. Rolls were amazing, gotta get #14. Fried oyster were also great. Overall great experience. Will be back soon

Just a wonderful sushi bar in PB with fresh fish, creative rolls, and a wonderful chef behind the counter.
Mr. Sushi has been a staple since 1998. Delicious sushi and excellent service. Usually, there is no line when Ota is slammed. It only lacks some of the flair that Ota has, the sushi is on the same level.
Really good authentic sushi. More in the pricey side of things but overall pretty good.
We always receive excellent service and top quality food.
chef tony is one of a kind! a true master of sushi. I've been coming here since i was a 17. he never ever disappoints. i love the guy! no one does it like he does, he's meticulous and takes his time to make superb sushi. chef tony you're the man!!

An old, established sushi restaurant with a very interactive bar, but the restaurant shows its age. The prices were what you would expect for being on the main Street through Pacific Beach. The daily specials were very good, but spendy. There was plenty of room at the bar and through the restaurant
$15 Rainbow roll tasted fine. It was pretty big and fell apart when picked up. The avocado on it was excellent. The tuna appeared enhanced, it stained my chopsticks which I’ve not experienced before.

Now I know where not to go for sushi, worst food ever !!!! Food taste was very bland, I’ve had better California rolls at Vons. The soup broth was not tasty. The chicken teriyaki was cheap chicken meat and loaded with sauce.
Hamachikama $19 / most other places 9.95. Ordered Appetizer rolls (on picture 6) - gave me to go order 3, cut in half... will not waste time on the rest of the quality. PB sushi next door...(very low quality in my book) - was still much better..... NEVER AGAIN

I read the reviews and decided to give this local place a try. We dined this evening (8/27) and the service was a one star at best from the start. We ordered two miso soups & only one was brought out at the beginning, we had to ask multiple times for straws, server gave two of our plates to the table next to us so they had to remake our plates. When they brought out our plates the entrees were made poorly & nothing like when they first brought it out to the table next to us. And to it end it off, they accidentally charged us for extra items we did not order. The restaurant was not busy during this time, it was a quiet Tuesday so it is difficult to justify what happened. No apology was given. Maybe I should have said something but I am not that type of customer and just went on with my day. The food was okay, we did not finish everything. The service was very disappointing. I won’t be coming back & won’t recommend this place to anybody. (My first review ever)
