If you’re craving pancakes, breakfast food and/or Asian food, this is it. It’s such an underrated spot in town, the staff are so friendly and the owner, George, personally checks in with every customer. The pancakes are huge and fluffy, but the star of the show is the buldak chicken with rice. It’s made with the owner’s special hot sauce and goes so well with the scrambled eggs and salad. Love the sense of community in this shop, which is filled with locals and has a very laid back, homely vibe.
I don't know where you grew up, but I feel like every old area there is that classic diner. It's becoming more and more rare. The diner nostalgia with the twist of City Heights is a complete experience. The homemade hot sauce on the table, sitting in a booth, and drinking a third cup of coffee with the kind waitress ready to top it off at the table. This no frills diner is a keeper.
1. You will regret not getting the buldak chicken 2. Service is so quick and helpful and let my partner and I make a bunch of subs/modifications to the meal (we are reasonable people ) 3. The portions are big and filling but not impossible to finish and the flavor is impeccable. It’s a pretty lowkey spot and I think that makes it even better.
George's is a casual, local, hole in the wall restaurant. If you're looking for a no-nonsense, home cooked style breakfast, look no further; you'll find it at George's. The bacon is crisp, the homestyle potatoes are cooked in the bacon fat, and the coffee is fresh. What more do you need? Maybe some pancakes? They got that, too! George's hit the spot for today's craving of an old school breakfast! We'll be back, soon!
My mom and I have been going to this place for years, the food is always good and the service as well!
It was the best breakfast I've ever had! I enjoyed my meal, and I liked how the owner interacted with every customer. You guys should come to this place when you're in town or around San Diego! #Thankyou #kamsahabnida #Salamat

Great food and excellent service. Family atmosphere. It was our first time here. We will definitely be returning soon.
This is a good place to eat a breakfast that is nor your typically over-priced, over-hyped big plate that you find nearly at every breakfast place in San Diego. Closed on Sundays and parking can be a bit challenging. The waitress they had there on Tuesday morning was really nice.
Friendly. Never mess up my order. Fair prices. Small enough to care about their customers. I have special diet needs. They made changes to my favorite special to fit my needs without charging me extra. Amazing! Love this place!!!!
It is a really wonderful place to go and eat the owner is really nice and welcoming to everyone he gives out food to people who need and that makes me to come back to buy food from there all the time.
This place is one of those classic neighborhood diners you don’t see much anymore. It’s got that old-school American brunch vibe, but there are a few Asian (Korean) dishes on the menu that are surprisingly legit and super comforting. The food is always solid, portions are generous, and the prices are way better than most brunch spots in San Diego. It’s cozy, a little worn-in, and honestly that just adds to the charm. You can tell they’ve been part of the community forever. One thing I really appreciate is that the owner quietly serves and supports folks in the neighborhood who are struggling in life. The small ways he shows he cares really give this place a big heart. If you’re looking for a no-nonsense, homey breakfast spot with great service, good prices, and some unexpectedly tasty Asian dishes, this diner is the move. Total hidden gem.
I love the food here, I come on my breaks when I'm working out on the road. The perfect pit stop with great coffee, great food, great prices, and the nicest waitress and owner ever. Smells great when you walk in and there are always people here when I come in. Food also comes out stupidly fast, and it's consistent. I'm a regular now ^_^ pancakes are super fluffy and delicious
Don’t miss out on the Buldak chicken!! Get it with some house potatoes and you’ll have the tastiest saucy potatoes you never knew you needed before. But really, the food is amazing. Great prices, portions, service, etc…George is so welcoming and kind, too. I’ve only been here twice with my partner and he excitedly welcomed us back with a huge smile.
Very special dining experience. Super friendly service, the food is just awesome. Fresh and tastes so good. The chicken teriyaki, grilled ham and cheese sandwhiches, shrimp omelets are fantastic.
Had a great time earlier today for breakfast with my wife and our baby, and I didn't want to forget to write a review. Service was very fast and friendly. The food was great, and the prices were good (we're in record high inflation people :). The parking isn't super great but not bad. We found a spot out front on the curb, but we probably could've parked under Walgreens just fine and walked a block as well. There's also a small parking lot next to the building that I forgot to ask about. This was the only time I had coffee "warmed up" while I was eating with fresh pours when my cup dipped down a bit, so it was the perfect temperature and taste to go with breakfast. My wife loved her food as well but didn't finish, so we definitely got her food to go. The only thing was I don't know if they have drinks to go. I forgot to ask if I could have a cup of coffee to go. I'll definitely be back.
This is a great little hole in the wall cafe. It's tucked away, like a little secret treasure. The food was fantastic. Service was very attentive and the environment, super friendly. I can tell they have great relationships with customers and a lot of regulars here. Try it out, you won't be disappointed.

The good: the place serves home cooked mom and pops type food. It was not greasy and it was extremely affordable. I dined here and I'm surprised they are not more busy. The portions are perfect for the price. The bad: the place could use a fave life and orange juice seemed a little over priced. The ugly: the waitress was so good but we were not able to leave her a tip on the card. I felt like we cheated her because we had no cash on us. If I were her I would get the venmo app.

Simple home cooked diner with a diverse menu that include classic American breakfasts, Chinese and Korean dishes, as well as Mexican food. Decor is very simple, the dining room is a bit beat up and dingy, and the lighting is harsh fluorescent. The service was excellent, attentive and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. The food tastes like it was made with care and doesn't have the prepackaged feel of corporate chain diners. If George's Cafe had a bit more ambiance and some updated decor, it'd be 5 stars worthy.

Food is ok. My experience was tainted by the other customers laying video on phone loudly, wearing gobs of Body spray or just being loud. It is what it is. The place is small, cozy with friendly employees.
