Me and my husband got the ribeye to share and they cut it in half and perfectly portioned the sides. I asked for my steak to be medium rare, and to my surprise it was perfectly medium rare. 😍 we also got the asparagus and Brussel sprouts and they were amazing!! I cleared my plate! The service was amazing as well, our waiter was so sweet and a kind. He was very attentive to our order and made sure we enjoyed our meal. Thank you, I will be back! A perfect dinner ❤️❤️❤️
Frank took care of us from the minute we were seated. The clam chowder is absolutely 💯 delicious! Same for the ribeye. Calamari is a must try as well. Perfect service & memorable food. We'll be back!
We stopped by just for dessert and were not disappointed! I had the warm apple tart, which was perfectly spiced and comforting, and the chocolate ganache cake was rich, decadent, and absolutely delicious. The service was excellent from start to finish. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere made the experience even better. Definitely worth a visit if you have a sweet tooth!
I am so happy to give my review: Red Marlin is excellent! The food is so tasty and fresh. The staff was very courteous, attentive, and responsive. The atmosphere is relaxed and elegant. Sits are comfortable, and the view of the harbor is beautiful. I would like to reiterate that the food was delicious, the portions were just right for one person, and maybe share a bit. You can tell that every dish was made with fresh, great quality ingredients. I'll be back for sure.
Gluten free options on menu! This restaurant is amazing. The food is 5 stars snd and the service is superb. You can't beat the view here especially at sunset.
We had the prime rib, lamb chops and pork belly. All exquisite. Wow. The atmosphere was great and Daniella our server was the best. Admittedly I wasn't sure if a hotel restaurant would be that good but everything was fantastic. Of course Xmas dinner with my daughters sealed the deal :).
This restaurant was very nice. The bay views are fabulous, the food was excellent and there is plenty of parking. Our server, Frank was THE best! Frank laughed with us, did an excellent job keeping us happy and took pride in his work. We will definitely be back!
Upscale restaurant with a beautiful view and superb service. The food was great. They have an outside bar which is great for large parties. The restaurant sits right on the bay. I would recommended this place for an adult night out or when staying at the resort.
This place was beautiful! We had our wedding dinner here. Excellent service! Frank made our dinner so special! He was kind, funny and gave us an experience we will remember forever! Thank you so much Frank! The food was both delicious and looked beautiful. The view was amazing!
We ate here daily as breakfast was included with our stay at the Hyatt. Have to say that we looked forward to the meal as every meal was delicious and well done. There is a $27 AYCE buffet but we always ordered a la carte. We have ordered the Breakfast Sopes, the Enchiladas Omelet, the kids hamburger, and the kids pancake. The Sopes was our favorite though I loved the ultra crispy french fries that came with my little one's hamburger. My daughter had both plain and chocolate chips pancake. Both were fluffy and light. My daughter gobbled almost all of it down every time. Definitely a good restaurant and worth eating at!

The customer service skills were amazing, one of the waitresses offered me a free desert because they had took a while to take our order, it’s my birthday today and that made my whole evening I will never forget her and that kind gesture. Aside from that our food and service was perfect as well as atmosphere with a gas lit fire while we dine. Thank you red marlin for practicing such amazing customer service skills.
Beautiful atmosphere. Ubaldo was so so so attentive and sweet, he poured our beer and everything. The guy in training (I forget his name sorry) was also sweet. A great experience! Thank you!
Genuinely the best food and service I've ever experienced. Frank was such a great waiter and the chef is a pure artist. Their salmon was actually incredible. Any reviews from previous years that I've seen so far seem to be very different to the climate of the restaurant at the moment. They have stepped up in terms of incredible service and food presentation. I'd highly recommend eating here if you want to have memorable and great tasting food. My only issue is with the 6% surcharge noted at the bottom of the menu. That seems a bit iffy to me.

I dined in a couple of times and did takeaway for dinner. The view overlooking the harbor was pretty, and it was a relaxing way to start the day. The morning staff were attentive, and I was able to get some work done while I ate breakfast. I think the food was okay for the cost, it might be that the dinner offerings are better.
Food was okay. The view is wonderful. see went there two times for breakfast buffet because we stayed at Hyatt. Be prepared to be asked for your room number at least 3 times while you dine there lol.

Last Wednesday we swung by the Red Marlin at the Hyatt Regency Mission Bay for a quick nightcap after dinner offsite. We arrived just after they had closed for the evening (their Dinner & Lounge hours typically run to about 9–9:30 pm), so we were ready to call it when the bartender stepped out, asked if we were only looking for drinks, and kindly reopened long enough to pour a final round. We ordered double bourbons, grabbed seats at the bar, and swapped stories while he finished closing tasks—professional, efficient, and friendly throughout. The setting here looks out over Mission Bay, which is part of the appeal and a nice way to end a day in San Diego. We appreciated the hospitality and the “yes” attitude at the end of a shift; small gestures like that earn repeat business.

Breakfast at the Red Marlin wasn’t as good as expected. It seems that each time I return the buffet has less and less items. I commented to the waiter that the breakfast as more like that at a Hyatt Place than what I usually get at a Hyatt Regency. As Globalist our breakfast was a no charge benefit for us…the recipe showed $90 for two with Orange juice and a cappuccino…very expensive for the slim offering with few items. The second morning we skipped the free breakfast at the restaurant and ate elsewhere. What has been one of our favorite properties the HRMB seems to be skimping on F&B while also letting the building and furniture show its age. I will most likely return but may stay at the La Jolla HR to compare on my next trip to SD. A great staff keeping a historic property as well as they can. The lowly breakfast was really a let down and may be the impetus to stay elsewhere.
We were staying at the Hyatt and stopped by for dinner - Monday without a reservation. Got a coveted window seat (charging for seats is a bit ridiculous - they charge 20 for a window seat reservation and 50 for a fire pit). It was not busy on Monday night. The food was solid - the calamari was a highlight - loaded mashed potatoes were great, iceberg salad solid, and the filet was good, the sauce was great just needed more of it. The scalloped potatoes they give you are not very good. The service was solid and drinks good. This place is overpriced by about 5-10$ per dish. 14$ for fries is a bit crazy. 50 for shrimp scampi, again just 10$ over market. Drinks were the same about 3-5 over market. Overall good experience but most likely won’t be back.
Food is seriously lacking! I got the rezzotto and shrimp, we tried all the appetizers, snitzel and sword fish and although the service was good the food just wasn’t that good. Not cheap either, save your money and go somewhere else!

Terribly disappointing dinner. The Red Marlin has been our Special place for anniversaries etc for many years. Tonight that ended. It was a terrible dinner. I had a dinner salad for $18 that was maybe 6 bites. The ONLY meal I have ever sent back in my 67 years on the planet. My wife had the salmon which was drowned in jarred Thai Chili sauce. I could have made that meal in my camper. We paid $45 for it. So sad that their food has gone downhill while their prices skyrocketed. The one positive was the staff. They were wonderful. Unfortunately by then the night was ruined. Ed Vodrazka.
