Great burger spot. Plenty of seating inside, staff is friendly and quick. Solid burgers, even better onion rings. Moderately priced, expect to pay about $20 per person
Delicious burgers, definitely the best truffle fries in San Diego and outstanding onion rings. Be sure to ask for the chipotle mayo, it’s a most. Very nice atmosphere and very clean.
Great burger. Hand cooked not fast food made. enjoyed visiting this place... they even had some board games to make the day more memorable... Thank you.
It was very clean. Great location. Service was good too. We ordered the Billy Cheese and it was perfect. Their fries and onion rings were great too. Dipping sauce was delicious. Would definitely recommend.
As in all my reviews … as long as the place is clean and the service solid and the food is decent it’s a 5 star review from me. The details are where you find out the scoop cause small businesses deserve 5 stars it’s hard out here and times are tough! Walked in and since it was mine and my buddies first time we weren’t sure what to order. The dude working the register was nice and patient. Got the standard double cheese burger and some fry’s. The burger patty itself was a freaking banger but the bun was a little dry. Probably the end of the week for their bread and their order coming in soon. Forgiving the sorta dry bun for a second the burger was top tier! The smash was perfect and super juicy! Cheese melty and plenty of it! Over all I’d say it’s a solid 8.1 burger and taking into account the bun it would hit an 8.7 I’ll definitely be back to try out some of the other variations! And you should check em out!
This place is a hidden gem!! OK it's not really hidden, but because it's a bit small, I think it's underrated. We had the #2 and the #10, truffle fries and we split a churro bowl.. the food was amazing! It was fresh, hot, and just enough sauce to not overpower the tastes of the rest of the ingredients, which were well balanced as well . Since this was our first time there we asked what was the best things to try first. The guy at the counter was eager to help and gave us great suggestions. We will definitely be back!
EAT HERE ! Got the double bacon smash cheeseburger with fries, everything you could ask for in a burger. Juicy, cheesy, great portion and as someone who appreciates a good pickle, it was amazing ! French fries were hot, crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Truly couldn’t stop saying “wow this is so good” every 2 bites 😋⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
So good! I live up the street from this location and love the different types of burgers offered. I highly recommend this to PB locals or anyone just walking by looking for a burger that rivals that of Rocky's!
2 visits so far no disappointed Great: the flavor that the meat has and how melts in your mouth is unbelievable adding the chicharron is the best “add-on”. The milkshake mazapan with bacon will blow your mind is so tasteful and is not extra sweet which allows you to taste all the flavors. The fries with truffle had really good flavor not salty at all and the crazy fries are the best. You have to be ready because you paying for full flavors is not In-n-out combos you pay more you will taste more. No great: the ketchup bottles and condiment are dirty
I tried the food box at a Yelp event a few months back. and had the opportunity to go this past Saturday. I was raving to my boyfriend about how great their burgers are, and my fond memory did not disappoint! We both ordered the King James Burger with a side of truffle fries. but the burger was juicy and accompanied by so many unique and tasteful flavors, like apples and tomatoes. The Truffle fries were truffled and salted to crisp perfection as well. Definitely a lot of food though, we couldn't finish our plates, talk about bang for your buck!
This place was amazing! The service was phenomenal and the food was superb. It was the best burger I have had in a very long time! I had the #3 and my husband had the #6. They both were tasty. The fries were also amazing ! They hit the spot. I truly recommend you try out this place!
Super bomb burgers, the chicken sandwich is also killer. The buns are legit toasty brioche they don't get soggy quickly they are perfect, Soggy buns are a definite burger destroyer you don't have to worry about that here. Plus they have a 9.99$ burger deal Monday and Thursday. It wasn't crowded when i was there but who knows I imagine it will grow in popularity glad to get a great burger place in PB.
Quite possibly one of the best burgers I’ve ever had! The Spurgeon Infit (chicharrón burger) blew my mind! Never knew I needed a burger with chicharrón on it, but yeah. Spicy. Crunchy. Amazing. The kids loved the chicken tenders— which looked amazing. The onion rings were on point as well. The guy at the counter was super nice. Give this place a try if you’re looking for something a little different. You won’t be disappointed.
I got the Billy Cheese with Truffle fries. My wife got the Spurgeon Infit. The burgers were seasoned well and tasted fresh. The truffle fries were cooked till the exterior gave a crunch and seasoned with garlic and parsley. The onion rings were absolutely fire with a crunchy outside and soft fluffy inside. The homemade Ranch was great! Good, friendly, and fast service. 👌

I don’t always eat burgers, but ,when I do, I come to the Food Box for a proper burger. My go to is the Billy Cheese with truffle fries. It’s absolutely fantastic!

Passed by this place so many times and finally got to try it. They had the friendliest person working there. The vibes were great. The burgers were good and fries were good. Price was very reasonable ($14 for a burger and $2.50 for fries) for the area.
My hubby and I spent the weekend in San Diego and happened across this burger joint. Some of the best burgers (Billy Cheese and Spurgeon) we’ve had and the truffle fries and onion rings were fantastic! It has a laid back vibe and the service was attentive and friendly. I hope they expand into more states!
The food is always delicious. I love getting burgers here. Today we tried thé chicken strip - fry combo and it didn’t miss.

Burger was so juicy and flavor was great. The onion rings were delicious. I forgot what my husbands chicken sandwich was called exactly ,he gave it a 2.7 out of 5 , wasn’t too geeked out about the sauce on it. Either way overall experience we liked it a lot. We also happen to have went when they were giving out red envelopes 🧧 so wish us luck 🍀! (promotion they have going on at the time.) Not sure if there’s parking in the back , but it is Garnet so we scored parking right in the front of the establishment. I would say maybe go on a week day Vs the weekend (just for parking sake.)
I came here to get myself dinner after a long day out and... it was just ok. I'm from TX and we are serious about our burgers and this didn't live up to my expectations. The beef patty itself was very dry and while they're generous with the toppings, it's all about the quality of the beef for me. It says 6 oz but I don't think it was. The onion rings were very thin and might have been better eaten fresh vs 20 mins later.

Fairly new burger joint in heart of Pacific Beach, San Diego. Great location, walking distance to the beach. As for the burgers, I would rate them just above average but I would expect more based on from its pricy menu. Skip the add on onion rings & the fries, not very good. I’ve been here couple of times before making this review but it’s almost empty every visit and that should be a warning sign. Location should not be the problem since there are foot traffic. They need to run a special or lower the price to survive in this current environment. 3.1/5 ⭐️
I'm sincerely sad to write this review. I have seen this place for a while and finally made plans with friends to go check it out. I think once upon a time this place probably drew crowds but now it's hard to see why anyone would come in here. We walked in and even though they were employees working in the front who were visible, we were not greeted at all. Seeing as how this was our first time there it wasn't immediately obvious that we needed to order at a kiosk versus talking to someone. At least 30% of the items on the menu were "out of stock" including some of the most popular items. The interior looked like a restaurant having an identity crisis. The decor was completely mismatched and sending all kinds of signals. Bummer! When we ordered I asked if I could have some water and was told "sorry our soda machine is down and other than that we have no water in the store." I found that hard to believe seeing as how they had to wash dishes and stuff but I decided not to push it and just didn't get anything to drink. I placed my order and sat down and waited for my food and my friends did the same. When our food arrived my friends order was wrong and so was mine. I had paid extra for pickles and they were not included so I went up to the counter and was handed a 2 oz plastic cup filled with some pickle pieces. As if the $ up charge wasn't enough, that was pretty pathetic. The food was uninspired, greasy and just not delicious. Coupled with the fact that the restaurant was disgustingly dirty and the drink machine was in the corner covered by a plastic garbage bag and a stack of board games with dirty fingerprints all over them... I quickly lost my appetite. The ketchup bottles were all old, and greasy and the labels had fallen off or been removed. The tables were grimy in the floor was sticky and dirty. The high chairs took several rounds of wipes to clean off. Ironically the bathroom was probably the cleanest place in there!! It's sad because the burgers are a great idea and I loved their named after some hard-hitting theologians but there's a missed opportunity there to explain the name of the burgers, to create a cohesive design/theme for the restaurant, and just basic cleanliness. I'm including photos I took while I was there, to show I'm not just leaving a bad review because. If you look at my profile I actually regularly review things really well but that's part of my commitment to reviewing - If something genuinely not good I feel an obligation to let people know about my experience. As much as this was hyped up, sadly I don't plan to return.

Very disappointing we paid $57 for 2 burgers and 2 cans of coke!!! My burger wasn't fully cooked it was still pink in the middle! For that price I would expect a deluxe size burger!!! I mean seriously I could have ordered from Carl's Jr and the burger would have been double the size for the price I paid. This burger was a mess and half raw. On top of that our order wasn't fulfilled we never received the fries we ordered.
