Avis sur Caramba San Francisco
The OJ was freshly squeezed, the oatmeal was nice and crunchy. On the side of the oatmeal we had a ton of cranberry and almonds. I asked for honey and it was a great combination. The food got to us quickly and hot. Then a gentleman was walking around asking if all is good and if something was missing or not. This is something that is not done usually. The burrito was one of the best I had. Living in LA we have great Mexican restaurants, this burrito held its place. We also got a slice of the banana bread. But we are too full to eat it. Can’t wait until 10:00 to sink my teeth in it.
They just recently moved to Haight and I'm glad they did! Really enjoyed the asada super burrito, it's huge and flavorful. For a lighter meal, they do breakfast burritos all day too that I really liked. It's nice to have a meal that isn't pizza for less than $10.
Delicious food and friendly staff. Definitely, worth a visit. Try the Caramba burrito!
Best Mexican food in the Haight Ashbury area by far. Homemade corn tortillas is like eating at friends cocina. Everything is fresh and flavorful.
I love this place, great mexican food, and a nice place to have a good torta and sit down :)
Best Mexican food in the neighborhood! Have ate here many times and it never disappoints! Always fast, filling and delicious! Would recommend to anyone needing Mexican food in the Haight!
Delicious food and friendly staff (but no restroom)
best burrito i’ve had outside of the mission. spicy is delightful
The quesadilla I had for lunch here was superb (especially with the green salsa - the acidic tang complements the fat of the cheese perfectly!), but I was especially impressed with the service. The staff asked if I needed any modifications, answered my questions about the menu, and seemed genuinely happy to be there. I’ll definitely come back the next time I’m in the city!
Best burrito I’ve ever had. The workers (owners?) were extremely friendly and gave out samples so I could make sure I got a burrito I would enjoy.
The Pozole soup is wonderful and the mini burritos are just the right size for lunch. Anything on the menu is soooo good!
Awesome burritos! Looks a little run down from the outside but the food is delicious. My favorite is the super burrito bowl with al pastor. Staff is very attentive and friendly. Their spicy salsa is proper hot! Makes me hiccup every single time; it’s the good stuff!
Caramba is the single greatest breakfast burrito spot I have been to in my entire life. I had a conference in SF and went to Caramba every single morning (5 mornings straight). My entire team which is comprised of people from Seattle, Ohio, San Diego, Walnut Creek, Michigan all loved it. Caramba is universally loved. Not to mention the sweet lady who works at the front. Very kind and helpful. This place is a hidden gem and I wish everyone could go taste the food. If you are ordering a breakfast burrito, get the bacon and eggs. The bacon is crunchy and the eggs are good. I would recommend adding potatoes, cheese, green salsa, and avocado. 10/10 everytime I’m in SF I will be going to Caramba.
Just a really solid breakfast burrito. Small and compact. Good.
I love their breakfast burritos. You can get more than one meat too, so I get bacon and churrizo - nice and spicy too. Good flavor. You can also add multiple things from the regular burrito menu. It comes out to be a decent price but it's always fair and I feel like I've impregnated myself.
Really fire breakfast burritos at a great price ($10) with the most incredible house made salsa I’ve had in a while!
Excellent neighborhood Mexican place! The staff are incredibly friendly and the portions are quite large. They're very accommodating of vegetarians and have very kindly sauteed additional veggies for our burritos. Highly recommend!
This is my new favorite Mexican restaurant in the Haight. Very authentic food. I felt like I was back in Mexico.
This is my favorite Mexican and Latin food restaurant in the Haight-Ashbury! I think it's a hidden gem! They have excellent breakfast options, including pancakes and French toast, excellent menu options including vegetarian options and hamburgers. They are very flexible with special requests. I'm vegetarian and I love their spinach and mushroom enchiladas, their hot chocolate is delicious and their coffee very good. My friends love their tamales, seafood and meat dishes. The staff, specially Ileana and the Chef Victor, are excellent! I highly recommend it!
I cannot say enough amazing things about the food! Everything was fresh, handmade and absolutely delicious! From the homemade tortillas and hot sauces to the incredible compote!! We will be back- hopefully before the secrets out!
New favorite breakfast burrito. That spicy salsa is SO SO good, burrito was small-medium sized, but perfect because it doesn’t leave you feeling dead after. Bacon was greasy, but not to the point where it makes you feel yuck. Just what I’m looking for to bounce back on rough mornings.
Place looks a little ugly, but the burritos are massive and good priced, and they come out quickly. Got a California with pico de gallo, black beans, and carnitas for about 17-18 dollars after tax. Very huge and I felt very stupid while eating it. No complaints.
I freakin loved this spot! Thanks for moving to the neighborhood! - I measure the quality of a Mexican spot on their Al Pastor and this one you can taste the homade sazón! Twas marinading with care - First orchata in SF w just the right amount of sweet, nutty, and refreshing with a properly filtered consistency - kindest peeps played the musics of my state in Mexico while I was eating, this was just above and beyond - their home made tortillas and salsas are otherworldly Full review : Is new in the neighborhood and me being from Mexico too I chatted up with the lady about where in Mexico the peeps were from, and what they recommended I should order They recommended the carnitas and al pastor tacos, they said they make their tortillas in house by hand, also I mentioned my background from Guadalajara (which will be relevant later) so I ordered one taco of each and asked what kind of aguas frescas they had. The tacos came with thicker yet soft tortilla, you can feel the masa cooked in just the right way The carnitas tasted like something I would have at a family gathering, so tender and juicy, paired so well with the red And green sauces Regarding the al pastor, I measure the quality of a Mexican spot on how good their Al Pastor runs given that is one of the most intricate and personal recipes per stablishment that tends to be made in greater batches (so consistency is key!) and ordered most often (if any Mexican spot u go to does not have Al pastor don’t bother even considering it in the authentic category) and this one you can taste the homade sazón! Twas marinading with care I usually don’t order orchatas bc I hadn’t come across a non-commercial flavored one, yet this one was just the right amount of sweet, nutty, and refreshing with a properly filtered consistency I could drink this at 3 am or in a hot summer day While I was eating the peeps played some of the typical songs of my state Jalisco! (I.e. “El jarabe Tapatío) and some others, the melodies were the right ones but the artistic expression was unique, either in the choice of instruments or the genre-style of the compositions in some kind of variation, I included a screenshot of the songs I Shazamdeddd. This though was extremely above and beyond, the peeps didn’t even have to do anything special like that, yet they closed to. Speaks volumes I wish I would’ve taken a picture of the food bc I ended up ordering the same thing again after I finished my food!! So I took a picture of one of my receipts I really hope you check this spot out it touched my heart in a way food hasn’t done in a while, I have yet to try their breakfast chilaquiles and their specials, heard the tamales were 🔥🔥 Caramba, que ricooo! 🇲🇽🌮
Super delicious food, fairly priced, the workers were very kind! I got the super quesadilla with chicken and I highly recommend!
+ Super dank, authentic food + Very affordable! You can get meals under $10 which is very well priced for the neighborhood + Fast, efficient service. + Breakfast menu is TOP NOTCH. + Get the chilaquiles with black beans. So bomb! + They have a very good sauce bar + Plenty of seating for dine in customers + There can be a line at times, but it moves fast
This is really good authentic Mexican food. They Listen attentively as you ask for special editions to your regular items. They have all your basic enchiladas, burritos, and tacos! I say this cause I've eaten all of them. Just a perfect hole in the wall restaurant.
Fantastic, go here! When I travel I like to find a local restaurant to eat. This was a short walk from the hotel I was staying at, when I got there it smelled amazing. I asked for a recommendation of what to order and they suggested the bacon and potato breakfast burrito with eggs cheese and green chili. It was filling full of flavor and very reasonably priced. When I come through again I will definitely go back.

This is going to be my new go to place! I ordered a barbacoa torta, and it was the best one I ever had. The bread was so soft yet crunchy at the same time. My friend got a quesadilla and taco and was very happy with her meal. Their brunch menu looked amazing so definitely coming back again for that. Definitely give this new place to Haight a shot!
Wonderful casual Mexican place in the heart of Upper Haight. Many menu items, friendly service, casual vibe with plenty of seating, great value!
Had delicious vegetarian burrito at this place. Their sauces are homemade and delicious. Very reasonably priced. Big portions
People who rate this less than five stars need to have their taste buds checked. Stumbled in there after a long day and had the best chicken quesadilla of my LIFE. Nothing fancy about it -- just really good Mexican food. Reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere. And the woman who took our orders was so nice and helpful. I think this is my first Google review but I had to leave it because I can't understand why this place isn't mobbed all the time!!! No notes.
If i coud give this place 10 stars i would. From the moment you walk in, this place makes you feel like you’re home. The food is hands down the most authentic and delicious Mexican food I’ve had in a long time—every dish tastes like it was made with tradition, love, and pride. The flavors are rich, fresh, and perfectly balanced, just like real home-style Mexican cooking should be. What truly sets this place apart, though, is the staff. They are incredibly respectful, welcoming, and genuinely kind, treating every customer like family rather than just another order. Their warmth and attention make the entire experience even more special. This isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a place where culture, comfort, and amazing food come together. If you’re looking for real Mexican food that feeds both your stomach and your soul, this is the place. I can’t recommend it enough.
Went here for the first time today. The California steak burrito is SO HUGE and super delicious. Their house-made hot salsa is amazing, too! Friendly staff, great food, clean space. Can't wait to come back and try everything!
My favorite breakfast burrito in the city. The salsa are to die for. And the staff is LOVELY! I’ve been going here since they were in the financial district. The burritos are also the perfect size.

Super delicious food. I had the crispy carnitas tacos and they were great. Nice proportions meat to toppings. The Jamaica Fresca is authentic and tastes sooo good. There’s also a dispensary next door you can’t go wrong downtown. Tacos + Green buds = Happy happy joy joy.
It's pretty good, good morning prices, and an authentic Mexican atmosphere. The refried beans were quite watery, and there's no salsa on the side, and nary a chip with your order.
Visited Caramba restaurant for lunch today and it wasn’t too bad. The restaurant is located on 2nd street and is fairly busy during the lunch hour. One of the unique aspects of the restaurant is that orders are placed at the beginning of the counter when you first walk in and if you’re a new customer, it’s a bit confusing because of the placement of the menu board. I ordered a super shrimp burrito on a spinach wrap. “Super” means that it comes with guacamole and sour cream, which is an extra $2.50. The shrimp was freshly grilled, which was nice. Overall, the burrito was pretty good. It wasn’t wrapped tightly but that may be because of the size of the spinach wrap. Each order comes with tortilla chips. Be prepared to pay anywhere from $10.00 - $12.00

The prices are very inexpensive and the staff is very friendly. The interior is low key, with a practical charm. The food was ok. I got a burrito with only chicken and cheese. The chicken didn’t have much flavor, but I suspect if I’d have added more ingredients it would have been better. But the cheese wasn’t melted at all, which kind of ruined it. Perhaps I should’ve gotten a quesadilla.
The food was inexpensive, especially as an Australian tourist. The selection looked good and everything tasted good. My friend was left with some ambiguity about whether he was being served pork or not but as foreigners we expect occasional communication difficulty. The soft shell tacos were around $3 each and two of them is a sensible portion size. For $10-15 you and a friend could over eat easily here.
It's not a Mission burrito but it's tasty and will satisfy that craving! The lines can be long during the lunch hour rush but it's worth it for some tasty Mexican food downtown. I stick with the burritos or tacos and am always left full and satisfied. Love the salsa bar as well!
Pretty good place for a simple burrito. I had a classic burrito with sauteed chicken, rice, refried beans, and Pico de Gallo. Good, filling portions but a little pricey in my opinion. I paid almost $15 for a single burrito with no chips or drinks or anything else. The fillings were also not very evenly distributed - I did go during a busy lunch so perhaps it was just bad timing, but it would have been nice to get a little of each in every bite. Cute establishment, very classic casual spot. I like the simple decor & there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. You order at the register and seat yourself.
When they first opened they made their own chips. Small salsa containers were full. Now half full at best salsa containers and chips are store bought. Advice to the owners – this isn’t getting lost on locals. We can make or break you. Would rather support you but if you cheap out you won’t last. Do better. Strong start and you’ve cheapened out. Think very carefully about your next steps.

I got a super burrito and it was just very mid/ok.. Cheese wasn’t melted and sour cream and salsa was tasteless. Carnitas was well cooked. Service though was very nice and quick! While I wouldn’t come back for a burrito, I absolutely would come back for their breakfast. They have an extensive menu of breakfast items that seem to all hit the mark from what I’ve been told.

Worst carne asada I ever had Not a picky eater but it was the waste of $20 for a terrible burrito
First time here and likely the last. Food looked good and tasted good at first but second bite and I found a piece of wood in my food. Not sure where in the kitchen it came from but very questionable heath food practices. They said it was the first time it happened but finding a piece of wood in your food made me loose my appetite. I was on my lunch break, didn't have much time to eat, had to ask for my money back and took for the food back... now I'm going back to work empty stomach. Will likely never go back here.
Not a good spot, the taste is not good. I think their rice was one week old I saw them warming up the rice in the microwave which is fine, but it was still hard like old rice from the fridge, they did not use fresh rice on my order. It was 12:00pm lunchtime, so I expected that a Mexican place would have fresh rice
