Amazing Mexican food! Victoria beer! The home made salsas are out the gate.

My boyfriend and I were staying in the area, we chose this restaurant on a whim. We aren’t from the area, and we were expecting small portions and high prices (because San Francisco). We were both pleasantly surprised, though. Prices are fair, portions are big, staff is kind + helpful, and the food is high quality. We will definitely come back here next time we’re in town! Highly recommend.

Amazing little Mexican restaurant that we stumbled on by pure luck. The tacos Al pastor are juicy, the torta is soft ans fluffy and the salsas are packed with flavour and spice. The service is top notch and it has the feel of a family run business. We have made this our designated dinner spot for our time in San Fran! Don't miss out on it

Best burrito place if you're downtown. Great food without the downtown price. Good for singles or couples, but the eating area is narrow so it's hard to fit a large group for dining. I usually get takeout.

J

This place is popular. If I'm a spanish speaking person and need them to know where I Live. I just tell them I'm by "El Tesoro" and they already know lol. Try the "crazy burrito" it's stuffed with flaming hot cheetos.

THEE BEST Tacos Eva!!! ..I consider myself a taco connoisseur. If you’re in this Riskay neighborhood, check ‘‘em out. Less than 10min pickup for 4 tacos! & you might as well grab their homemade flan (or two). Id share a photo, but they didn’t last that long.

GREAT FOOD, LOUSY NEIGHBORHOOD A great taqueria, open late, in a neighborhood straight out of Zombie Apocalypse. Good solid food, including birria de chivo, menudo and excellent chicharones and tripas! Enjoy your meal, but try not to park too far away, and avoid Tent Row on Leavenworth Street. Fine for delivery and takeout.

Z

I lived 19.5yrs in San Diego, and we always went to TJ for tacos. This place is the closest to those tacos I've found to that in my 9yrs here!!... especially the tripe and chicharron.

The best place nearby! Hidden gem! Strawberry juice is so good, made with real strawberries with seeds in it. They have a lot of positions in menu and they are all very very cheap. I tried their quesadilla and tacos and both were full of fresh and tasty ingredients, pure pleasure. The portions are too big, I had to take a half in a container to go. Just a must, guys

A

Hole in the wall with a large selection of items on the menu. My food was so delicious, the al pastor tacos I offered are the best I've ever had so far. Highly recommend ordering to go as dressing could fill up quick

C

Awesome late night spot! The chimichanga is 10/10 and the churros are some of the best I’ve ever had. The staff is super friendly and typically give free chips and salsa with your meal. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

One of the first places I ate when I moved here almost six years ago and SO glad they've been able to hang in there thru the pandemic. Food is great, prices are reasonable and the service is always fast and friendly (and they've been very patient with my clumsy attempts to utilize mi español 😝). Best tacos in the TL, if not the entire city.

J
Justin Zilla (ju3t1nz)

I live across the street and they cook fresh food all day long so your order was made within the same 5 minutes you ordered Not meat cooked at lunch for dinner under a sun lamp This place is underrated and they accommodate off menu requests At midnight it packed because open late Busy all day Takes phone orders Call in your order then pick up or sit down and eat They have Coronas and the Mexican drink I can't remember it's name Cheap What's not to like

I don't usually write reviews but I had to for this place. I got there superburrito🌯 with Carne asada it was so good!! 😋 The Salsa and guacamole really compliments the rice, and the Asada so flavorful yum yum. I would have took a picture but I took one bite, and just kept going. There home made chips👌 I can't wait to tell my friends all about this place I highly recommend it. Staff there were so nice too considering the heptic orders they had.

5 years running best steak and prawn quesadilla. I ate them daily two weeks in a row once. No regrets. Their other fare delicious as well (no comment on the beans, I don't eat those) oh and they got beers as well. Corona and quesadillas is what's for lunch and dinner. Shame they aren't open for breakfast

World’s best taqueria hands down, ANY other SF restaurant sucks. This place rules! Tell your friends and bring an empty belly!

Great little Mexican restaurant/takeaway in San Francisco. I ordered two regular tacos (chicken and chorizo), and a side of black beans. I ate in and was given tortilla chips and water complimentary. The food was so good that I ordered some more!

nice small place to get some food for lunch on your break or just to come sit and hangout with your friends. I eat here all the time and love ordering over doordash when I have no idea what to cook.

Tonight I made a complete donkey out of myself. But the ladies working at El Tesoro was so kind and forgiving it almost made me cry. I ordered the pescado frito with a side of shrimp. When I made it home I checked my order and for some reason I overlooked the shrimp. I called and was very hostile to the woman who answered the phone. She rallied to find a answer for me. Like a big idiot I packed the food back in the bad and disgruntled and showing it walked around the corner to El Tesoro. The lady swiftly looked in the bad and guess what. The shrimp was there. I felt so ashamed and begged for forgiveness saying I made a huge mistake. The lady was so kind and said, "everyone makes mistakes". I felt so much better after she said that. I went home and learned a lesson. Be patient and don't act like a idiot. Everyone makes mistakes so be aware of how I respond to them. It can make or break their spirit. Thank you for you kindness tonight El Tesoro and I appreciate your forgiveness. Food is wonderful as always. Sorry for my behavior again.

I LOVE ME SOME TORTAS both the food and big women. 9.9/10 only flaw was that the torta was midly sloppy considering it had alot of frijol still devoured that TORTA GRHRRHRHH😝😝.

Burritos here are good. Could be bigger though and use more meat and rice. Not too filling for me. The desserts could also be bigger with more portions considering they charge around 5 for them. Dine-in here is difficult and cramped unfortunately. Take-out is better.

UPS: Yummy burrito! Right size! Steak is delicious! DOWNS: Not a touristy place. Drippy (though the sauces bring so much flavor I don't know if it's that much of a down. A little more than I really like to pay (but again only a LITTLE more, like I want it to be $1 less, not $5-10 less). OVERALL: Best burrito I've found in SF so far!

The employees are friendly and you don't have to wait long for them to complete your order. Fast, efficient & overall just a good place to go if you are in the area. Their prices are decent, and meals are usually very filling. Would definitely recommend this place if you happen to be in the neighborhood.

I’ve been here a few times and the quality varies depending on what you order. The sides aren’t great (dry, small, and a little cold), but the main dishes I’ve ordered have always been great. My favorite dish so far is the chorizo quesadilla, which is stuffed with fillings and very, very rich in flavor.

The tacos were very dry, however I did place an order for delivery. The burrito & quesadilla is amazing. Wish I was provided more sauce.

I usually order an amazing carne asada burrito from this place. But, the other day I was craving a “cóctel de camarones” 🍤 and I was sooo disappointed. It was like shrimp in Clamato and a little bit of tomato and onion pieces & specs of cilantro. 😫☹️ No avocado and cucumber. Needless to say my cravings were not satisfied. I think this restaurant is great for burritos and tacos but not for seafood. I posted pictures of the item I received versus how it should look when prepared right. I payed around $17 bucks for it. Which one would you eat?

Overly priced food, not the greatest Mexican food. Tacos are small and the environment inside is very dirty. Won’t be going back. They should be having that place looking presentable but seems like they don’t care . Customer service was whatever the lady could have been more welcoming but she seemed like she was having a bad day. Don’t recommend this Mexican spot.

This restaurant would have gotten more stars if they had taken the time to get customers’s order correct! I’m just about tired of giving this restaurant a chance to get a simple order right but tonight 8-16-23 around 11:30 or so I was dumb enough to order again and was let down once again! I ordered a burrito with carne asada, xtra refried beans, cheese and sour cream. I SPECIFIED NO salsa, NO guac, NO onions and definitely NO RICE!!! I only wanted the requested ingredients ONLY which was the meat, refried beans, sour cream and cheese ONLY and it is mind-boggling to understand why these restaurants feel the need to take a customer’s money and serve them whatever without any consideration for the possibilities of allergies or what not. If I’m delivering to another person I literally have to open up the food/ containers to make sure the order is correct and that is annoying because I don’t want to be opening up anyone’s food to inspect it. But every time I inspect the food I make sure it’s correct but if I don’t inspect it the order ends up being incorrect and that means no tip with a messed up order! Well tonight I was disappointed (AGAIN) because instead of me receiving my specified burrito (meat cheese sour cream refried beans- all on the extra side- which is an extra charge!!!) my burrito came with so much dry rice I felt dehydrated, a small amount of carne asada, a splat of sour cream and cheese and WHOLE beans instead of refried beans!!! My question is why is it so difficult to get a customer’s order right when the list of specifications is right there in the food preparer’s face!!!??? And like I said there are extra charges for specific orders so therefore I paid extra for nothing!!! This is the third time that I’ve been charged for a messed up order and my orders are always in between the $30-50 plus bracket so at least the restaurant can do is get the orders right!! I know someone who actually died from a allergic reaction so with that said be more mindful of the customers orders because if not you will lose loyal customers if you continue to charge extra for orders your customers didn’t want or pay for!!! Get it together!! That is all…

I have ordered food from this SF location 10+ times over the past year via Doordash. Usually it is great. Unfortunately today I found a large screw in my super quesadilla. Doordash was unhelpful in resolving. I simply want to make the restaurant aware of this serious safety issue.

Ordered through DoorDash…the first time food was okay. I ordered it the second time and the food tasted like chlorine…I ordered their quesadillas and taco salad. Taco salad wasn’t that good compared to other options in the city. Quesadillas are good however it just tasted like chlorine

Food was good. Background mexican music gave good vibes. Customer service by the cashier was very poor. She was rude and treated you like you are an inconvenience to her. However, the female server and male cooks were polite/pleasant. It is a very small place if you want to sit down and eat there.

Good service but barely any meat (maybe 2 oz) in the burrito, even with paying $4 for extra. Even in SF an $18 burrito should fill you up. Won't be back.

Tacos are great. Im from the only good thing we have is tacos. This place hit the spot. Tacos on point. NOT ANYMORE Dont go back. Service hast dived. Microwave crap dry, ordered a wet burrito. 3 pieces of meat. All beans and rice. $16 don't waste your money. I had to walk down to Hermanos to order my food.

This review is for a delivery order. My burrito had cheese (I cant have cheese and I put it in the notes). Quesadilla was missing altogether and that part of the receipt was cut off? Instead of mango agua fresca we got pinapple (we are allergic) and that flavor was not even in the menu! Literally the only thing they got right was tamarind jarrito. Very frustrating experience to say the least!

Off the bat upon arriving, the cashier was very rude. I asked her some questions about the menu and she just stood there and looked at me confused. I ordered 3 orders and the total was a bit expensive for such simple orders. When we received our food, it was not good. The fact that they claim to be Mexican is an insult. The guacamole they served was avocado soup along with literally 10 chips! It was bland and tasteless. All the food was bland. The atmosphere is sad looking and under kept. Please just order chilis they atleast try!

Worst tacos I ever had in my life I got one taco for $8.14 that was so full I couldn't even pick it up the ingredients was not good to much beans and lettuce tasted weird no cilantro yuck

The food was pretty odd. I ordered a carne asada California burrito and it wasn’t the best. It mostly consisted folded tortilla and little filling, the fries were soggy and weird, the guacamole and salsa had barely any flavor, and the meal overall left a weird taste in my mouth that I’m still trying to wash out. Would not recommend.
