Tip: Try the mango mochi, but be aware it's very popular and often sells out. Also, the HK milk tea is strong!

I know I am always giving five stars. It’s because I am thrilled when I visit places I have been reading about for ages. And when I finally get to have a coconut crème bao again after months, and it just makes me so happy. This place is funny. They are known for Chinese-style tamales. I did not have that. I had the egg tart and bao. Yummy. There was not a place to sit in the place on Sunday morning so I did the next best thing- stood outside the cafe and ate it. ☺️ again perhaps if I lived close to a Chinese bakery I would not be so joyful about my bao but I was and continue to be delighted. It was the perfect bite of chewiness and sweet without being cloying. I don’t know how they do it and I don’t want to know I will just say “take my money” and enjoy. The pastries here are top notch. Check it out for yourself.
Strong hot HK style milk teas and buttery pastries. The pineapple buns had a crispy and crunchy top with a soft and fluffy bun
Seriously the sweetest aunties!! I found out about them at the Chinatown night market and their mango mochi was so juicy 😭😭😭 it revived me
Best BBQ pork buns I ever tasted! The BBQ pork is not dyed red. The bread is really soft inside and slight crispy outside! All we can say is YUMMY😋 Also tasty: little chicken biscuit! Crispy and chewy just right! Bring back childhood memories! Will definitely visit again when I am in San Francisco Chinatown.
Wowwwwww! They have Labubu mooncake with different flavor. Taste so good!! I love it!!
TLDR: strong milk teas and delicious pastries for great prices I got a HK milk tea, a pineapple pork bun and an egg tart for $7.50. The HK milk tea was a tad bit sweet but full of tea flavor and very silky. The egg tart was just right with a crispy crust and not too sweet and solid egg custard. The pork bun had a good filling not too sweet nor salty. Would definitely come back again for some other baked goods and the milk tea
Perfect place to get a desert after lunch at spicy shrimp ; but great place to sit too. Love their coconut pie. Love this street as it has got neighborhood vibes like no street in Chinatown ; I like candy colored signage
Women owned business in Chinatown, good quality bread and pastries. Mango mochi is a must try, very popular, always sold out.
My favorite go to I-Cafe Bakery. They use lots of organic products, real eggs & butter, not too sweet for the Asian palate.
Delicious egg tarts! Friendly service!

One of the must try places in China town. I love the selection and prices.
Excellent Hong Kong style milk tea and egg tart. They are as yum as the famous shop in Hong Kong
Perfectly fluffy hotdog buns! Also has good quality frozen zong zi
What a cute little bakery! I came here by chance after an event at the bookstore on the corner, and I'm really glad I did. Other bakeries are pretty chaotic, loud, and intimidating. This one is very chill and calm. The auntie at the counter patiently takes your order, I can't say that for all Chinatown bakeries! I got a green onion bun, a bo-lo bao (called a pineapple bun, because it looks like a pineapple), a cha siu bolo bao, a ham and cheese bao. All were really light and fluffy. My favorite was the cha siu bolo bao! But, also the mango mochi, that were on the counter, those were really really good and my family finished those in minutes. Highly recommend making the trip down Wavery to find i-Cafe!

It is a quintessential Chinese bakery situated in the heart of Chinatown. They offer table seating for a dine-in experience. We recently sampled their BBQ P.Bun, paper cake, big dumplings (zhong zi), and custard tart, and found them to be quite delicious! The experience met with Mama's approval. The customer service was excellent, and speaking Cantonese proved to be an added advantage. Additionally, they maintain a clean restroom facility exclusively for customers.
Nice place to get a treat and have warm asian veggie tamales - my wife also got a ice tea we love to try more things
When I was a kid, Sundays were usually a day of going to have dim sum w/family or visiting family with a big pink box filled with pastries from one of the bakeries in Chinatown. The one pastry I didn't like the most was the "Paper Wrapped sponge cake". I think it tasted too plain for me and not sweet enough? My ahem..older relatives loved it! Maybe it helped that it was soft on the gums? The crazy thing is I've slowly grown to really like it over the years. Maybe because I don't eat it as often and there are not big pink boxes laying around my house every weekend? Icafe makes this paper wrapped sponge cake really well! They also have very tasty BBQ pork and Taro buns! I'm not a big mochi fan but they have supposedly one of the best mango mochis. Parking in all of Chinatown is difficult. You can get in and out of the shop rather quickly and they prefer CASH!
Tried the pineapple bun, a bit too dry. But the owner was very nice. I also bought their cookies but haven’t tried them yet. Will update later.

Lovely Chinese bakery open pretty early. I get different things almost every time I go but their BBQ pork bun is very good. Cheapest bakery open around 9am in chinatown I think but still somewhat expensive.

Decent place for a quick rest and snack in that it's quite cheery and chill and had a big TV playing random documentaries. They had a sign which read "No sleeping!" that really tickled me. Cheap pastries and cheaper coffee but quality was average. For example the wife cake's pastry outer could be flakier and lighter, and the filling is on the less sweet side which works for me but may not for others. Perhaps their other offerings are better? A poster boldly claims they have the best mochi in Chinatown, including "dunion" (?!) mochis... There's a lot on the menu not on display, not sure if they ran out or they're just out back.

Bad values on the Chinese tamales. Small size compared to others but more than 30% more expensive. The meat is not fatty enough, the salty egg yolk used packaged one. Dry, not oily nor crumbly. Biggest issue is they didn't use 五香粉 to marinate. So, I won't be going back. On the side note, I bought a bun and HK milk tea. Milk tea is really bad. And the bun is not worth it.
