I'm from the Midwest and the breweries there are much better than the ones in California, but this place really does have great beer! Tried three very different beers and all of them were excellent!

1st off these hard working humans and this establishment survived the most intense times of the pandemic (so far). I spent the better half of the lock down buying their Crowler 3-Pks for $30 as it was the best deal to support in my neighborhood. I’ve had nothing but great chats with each bartender they are wonderful. I am happy to continue bringing friends and family from across the globe here to raise a pint with me. As should you! We attended a private event here last night. This is an excellent brewery, even for someone who doesn't normally enjoy the taste of beer! The friendly bartender didn't blink an eye nor did he give me a hard time when I asked what he suggested for someone who doesn't enjoy IPAs and especially hates the bitter aftertaste of beers. He took the time to ask me a few follow-up questions and ultimately suggested a cider that I actually enjoyed! My husband really enjoyed his IPA and we'll definitely return the next time we're in the area. The bar is an easy walk from the 18th street Mission St Bart Station. Also, we were able to avoid the hoards of zombie apocalpyse/unhoused folks lying along the sidewalk by crossing the street.

I had great time here, they have lots of good craft beer and the venue is cool.

Amazing beers, they take their beer seriously now. Hefeweizen is outstanding. Naturally, their hazy IPA is fantastic. An homage to dandelion cocoa nibs is the hazy IPA. The area is quite open and roomy. many board games The tasters are a great way to sample the beers on tap before deciding which one you want to drink.

Had a few hours to kill and decided this would be a good spot to do it. We were not disappointed! Excellent vibe, very chill. Many great beers on tap. Our favorite was the nitro coffee cream ale. Ended up spending almost 3 hours there and took a shirt back home to DC with us. Highly recommended!

Just went to Standard Deviant for Beer Week and the beer was fantastic. I highly recommend the Porter and the Hazy IPA. Definitely one of the best places to drink beer in the city. One of the owners was also working the bar and was really helpful with whatever questions I had about the beer. I also appreciated the taco bar they had set up. Definitely going back.

We used to live right by this place before moving out of state and it is awesome. The people who run it are great and they have a good selection of beers. This is one of the few places in the city that is a large brewery space, don't miss it!

Good hazy IPA and surprisingly good hazy pale ale. Also enjoyed the tree people west coast IPA. Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders who were on the ball on service even during a crowded night with 49’ers in playoffs. Tasty guacamole & chips were satisfying to balance the beer. Other items in Mexican pop-up stand seemed very popular (quesadillas). Plenty of TV’s, clean bathroom, not difficult to find parking, great vibe - would come back here anytime! Only downside was they didn’t have the tshirts we wanted in L size. Next time!

I love standard deviant. It has plenty of space, a cool down to earth ambiance, and great beers. I recommend some of their IPAs but they have a whole host of lighter and other beer varieties too that people love. Great spot for big groups or parties or just a casual drink.

We wanted (1) a relaxed atmosphere to kick the weekend off, (2) kids to be able to hang, (3) centrally located in the city, and (4) not blowing our budget. The event was a total blast, and everything turned out even better than I'd hoped. We had about ~150 folks without issue. The mood lighting was perfect & the SD crew in the tuxedo tees were exactly the vibe we were going for. Folks had a great time chatting, drinking beers, and eating tacos. Coordinating everything over email with Mark was super easy, and the whole affair was super affordable, all things considered. I've always loved Standard Deviation for casual beers, and they made the whole private event thing a walk in the park too.

Love it. Cool vibes, table shuffle board, parklets, and solid beer. This is a great place to get started and then make your way over to Crafty Fox, only a few blocks away!!!

I like the indoor beer garden. Good vibes and a spot to go in a group. The beer doesn't knock you off your feet but fair prices and i would for sure return.

Standard Deviant almost feels like a neighborhood dive but with a spacious feel. From the outside you don't expect much but the inside opens into a welcome brewery with lots to offer. Most of the menu is fairly standard (no pun intended) with all the staples - a lager, stout, heff, a few IPAs, etc. The creativity comes out in their aged section. Try the cognac brown ale or their imperial stout to see where they're pushing flavor. The staff is friendly and happy to help you select something or welcome you in if you're new.

Outdoor and indoor seating, dog friendly, and board games. What isn’t there to love. Had the horchata beer, if you love horchata this is a beer you should try. Clean restrooms and friendly staff.

SUPER loud (party of 30 for a baby shower that day). But overall the clientele are loud speaking people with loud companions (adults, kids, pets). If you like shouting out your conversations, this is a great spot.

Absolutely do not come here if they are preparing food outside. The cooking smoke will be sucked inside and it will significantly degrade the air quality inside to unhealthy levels. It is almost certainly a health code violation. Edit: updated my rating. I hope you guys will buy an air quality monitor, at least for the sake of your employees.

So unbelievably smokey and foul smelling from the makeshift burger stand out front that our entire group of 8 people got tired of coughing and wheezing and left to go somewhere else.

They didn't let people in because there was a private event They should have just put up a closed sign. I thought the person at the door was joking about people noticing if I went in... it was awkward and a waste of time Edit to add: The rude responses from this establishment are telling about their customer service. They must be confused about how business works...

Went there last night with some friends. Worst service ever! Plus we all went home feeling sick. Must have been something bad we ate! Won’t go back to that dump!!

If you try to go during their reported "open" hours, they may be closed. Before we stopped by (on a Saturday night), we called 5 times, no one picked up but we figured maybe there was a phone issue or they were busy because both Google and their own website said they were open... And what brewery isn't open on Saturday night... When we arrived the person at the door told us they were fully booked for a private event. If they had people at the location able to answer the phone (which they did), it would be nice if they picked up to tell people they weren't open. Do not rely on this location for a drink, call first to get confirmation they are open to the public, and if no one picks up, they're probably closed. Also, the owner of this establishment has a trend of shifting blame in their replies to people that give a low rating. As of today, their reply to my rating is "Wait... you called 5 times without an answer and still decided to show up?". I've seen other replies where the owner makes excuses or tries to blame the customer for a not so stellar experience.
