Very amazing pastries and coffee. People are very friendly and welcoming. Definitely coming back when I come back to Santana Row
A perfect hangout place, in a lively atmosphere...I think it’s a perfect meeting spot for a good coffee and dessert...I tried chocolate eclair and mango mousse, loved both the contrast flavors......they have a nice seating outdoors...which makes it even perfect . Highly recommend must try 🙂
One of the most popular places on Rantana Row. the ambiance of the environment is beautiful. Desserts are fresh and delicious. Also, the employees are very helpful and smiling. Warning: We learned that there is gelatin in cakes. Those with halal sensitivities should not buy the product without asking about the content.
Situated in Santana Row, this opulent patisserie offers breads and delectable single pastries that feeds your craving and wanting more again. Been visiting this place whenever I happen to drop by Santana Row. I always take home the mango mousse. My favorite. The pastries are soft and silky in your mouth and the sweetness is close to perfection. This patisserie is a must visit whenever you visit trendy Santana Row or accidentally not on your destination. They also serve great coffee and expressos.
I love this bakery. First off, the location in the middle of Santana Row with Al fresco seating is awesome. It usually is busy, but the small wait is pretty much worth it. The coffee os strong and is made just right. We had a latte and a double cappuccino, which were served quickly and had the right amount of kick for an afternoon break. They have a wide selection of pastries. I have tried their tiramisu and croissants, and those a pretty good. On this particular trip, we had a Napoleon and decided to give the Banana Crunchy a try. Wow! It was so yummy. I highly recommend it. Enjoy a coffee, indulge in a pastry, and do some people watching. This is a fun place to spend an afternoon.
It's always fun to sit in Cocola. I enjoyed a lemonade, but they serve good coffee and freshly baked croissants (I'm gf so didn't taste it, but it looks really good and whoever ate it, said it was super yummy). They also serve salads etc. I like the European vibe, with the cute bistro furniture, in the middle of Santana Raw.
I recently had the pleasure of visiting Cocola, a charming French-style café that offers an impressive selection of pastries, macarons, tarts, and cakes, along with coffee and sandwiches. From the moment we walked in, the inviting atmosphere and delightful aroma of freshly baked goods set the stage for a wonderful experience. We decided to indulge in the tiramisu and mango passion fruit mousse, both of which were divine. The tiramisu was rich and creamy, with the perfect balance of coffee and mascarpone flavors. The mango passion fruit mousse was a refreshing and exotic treat, beautifully layered and bursting with vibrant fruit flavors. To complement our pastries, I ordered an iced Americano. The coffee was well-brewed, providing a smooth and robust flavor that paired excellently with the sweetness of our desserts. Overall, our visit to Cocola was a delightful experience. The quality of the pastries and coffee, coupled with the cozy ambiance, made it a memorable stop. Whether you're in the mood for a sweet treat or a satisfying coffee break, Cocola is definitely worth a visit.
We decided to stop here for dessert after having dinner nearby and boy was I blown away. We got the Baccara and while my expectations were low I was amazed by the richness packed into such a small bite. The dessert is made up of fresh and delicious layers of raspberry mousse, raspberry compote, white chocolate, cream and almond sponge cake. It was incredible. Will be back to try some of the other desserts they make, I'm hooked
We have loved this place since their opening several years ago. Hazelnut cake, millefeuille and caprese sandwich is usually our standard order. Yesterday evening they were out of most of our favorites, so took what was available (triple chocolate mousse and pistachio and chocolate macarons). Adding photos here every time we get something new :)
This bakery is a delightful treat! The aroma of freshly baked goods invites you in, and the selection is impressive. From flaky croissants to decadent cakes, every bite is pure bliss. The friendly staff adds to the charm, making the experience even sweeter. Don't miss their signature pastries; they are simply heavenly. A must-visit for any pastry lover!
A little cozy place French inspired Boulangerie/ Patisserie along classy Santana Row in San Jose, this place is famous in town. Best baked tarts/ cakes/ sweets, all mouth watering. Friendly staffs, but it’s very noisy inside the cafe. Always busy, pricey though. Cappuccino and strawberry eclair is always delicious to have here. They also serve sandwiches, salads, soups and sides.
Amazing Bakery and Cafe located on Santana Row. It is packed on a Saturday with people sitting inside and outside the cafe. We were walking by on the street and saw someone holding a strawberry croissant that look incredible and we heard that crunch when he bit into it. We decided try Cocola and ordered a strawberry croissant and an iced americano. The service was fast and pleasant, everyone is nice! The strawberry croissant is a new item and inside of it had this delectable strawberry cream. The ice americano was strong and the two together was a match made in heaven. Come check out this bakery and cafe if you’re on Santana row.
Ight look, I personally been going here to get coffee or pastries and sometimes lunch. When i get my coffee its always tastes amazing, like I found my love for it again. Im a big sweets person so I love their pastries and their soups n sandwiches? That bussin down pound town turn it around
Cocola is a fancy patisserie with decent coffee, pastry and sandwich options. Tons of pastry options!! They have 3 sized coffee cups. They have tons of pastry and baked goods. Over the time, pastries look all colorful and I started avoiding them given how much artificial coloring they are using. I still didn’t take out any star because their baked goods are fantastic and they offer one of the best coffees. I have been going here for over 10 years and this is the most prominent attraction for me at Santana Row. Plenty indoor and outdoor seating available. Heaters are available for outdoor seating. Tons of people were dining outdoors with their dogs, that was an extra treat to watch :). Location is fantastic and it’s in the middle of beautiful Santana row. Plenty public parking available in the covered garage at under 5 mins walk. I am a frequent here!!
After a delicious lunch we decided to go here for coffee. Cocola Bakery is a charming French bakery and café serving French breads and pastries that are all baked daily on location. This indoor/outdoor café also serves gourmet sandwiches on fresh baguettes, with salads and homemade soups. We decided to have Mocha Bianca and believe me it's very tasty and creamy coffee. We also got dessert - pineapple twist, pineapple custard filling and cheese danish. If you haven't tried this place, I will highly recommend it and do try the pineapple custard filling dessert and the mocha bianca, I promise you will not regret it. I loved it and the service is great, the inside sitting can get crowded but they do have outside seating as well. As I write this review, I am craving that coffee for sure. I highly recommend this place.
The Bamboo (Mango and Passion Fruit Mousse) was my favorite and I would definitely get it again. I enjoyed every part of it. You will not regret choosing this cake. The Le Sultan (Hazelnut Cake) was good but the lemon cream felt like it didn't belong, and the biscuit and crunch was a bit hard. The Tiramisu is delicious; it had a good amount of coffee flavor but not a fan of the lady finger. The Banana Crunchy was good except the banana caramel which tasted more like rotten bananas than fresh bananas. The pecan crunch was a nice touch. The Vanilla Milkshake Tart tasted like vanilla ice cream on a tart.
Located in bustling Santana Row. There are seats outside of the store, in the alleyway. They offer from ice cream to bakery items. We ordered chocolate ice cream, hot chocolate, decaffeinated latte, and mango cake. The hot chocolate and latte came out in a humongous mug cup. Hot chocolate and latte were so smooth and milky. They were so rich. Mango mousse was very refreshing and delightful. I would visit again!
My family and I recently visited Cocola Bakery in San Jose and were amazed by the exceptional desserts they offer. The presentation of each sweet treat was stunning, and the flavors were incredibly rich and satisfying. The desserts we tried were a perfect blend of textures and tastes, leaving us with a memorable experience. The attention to detail and quality ingredients were clear in every bite. We sampled the caramel chocolate cake, which was a delightful mix of smooth chocolate and rich caramel, creating an indulgent treat. The hazelnut dessert was equally delicious, with a wonderful balance of nutty richness and sweet creaminess. Although we haven't tried all their offerings yet, we highly recommend Cocola Bakery to anyone looking for exquisite desserts in San Jose.
Fun dessert shop to share cakes and coffee. It wasn't too busy, we got two tables to fit 8 of us. We ordered 4 slices of cake and black coffee with sides of cream. The items were plated quickly as well as the coffee. The cakes were tasty, not too sweet. You can taste the fruits in the cakes we choose. Service was nice and efficient. It is our go-to dessert usually after dinner at a nearby restaurant.
Cocola is one of my favorite spots at Santana Row for great desserts and coffee. The atmosphere in the evening is perfect — relaxing outside with a drink while enjoying all the activity around the Row. I especially love their Chai Latte, and the desserts are always delicious. The coconut macaroon and croissants especially. The only downside is that the staff (not all, just a couple) can be a bit stand offish sometimes, but overall it’s still a great place to unwind and enjoy the vibe while people watching.
I recently stopped by Cocola Bakery at Santana Row and was genuinely impressed. Their strawberry croissant is exceptional — beautifully flaky, golden layers with a real fruit flavor that tastes fresh, not overly sweet. The balance between buttery pastry and light strawberry filling is perfect. The café itself feels elegant and relaxed, with friendly service and a nice spot to sit and enjoy coffee. Prices are on the higher side, but the quality easily justifies it. Even as a first-time visitor, it’s clear why this bakery has such a strong reputation. Cocola is worth the stop — especially if you appreciate a perfectly made croissant.
Pastries are amazing! Taste is consistent every time. Big fan of their cakes too. Try it out!

The food here is great, and the staff are nice and helpful. Lots of options to choose from. I love the comfy environment that it gives like a cafe :)
Amazing collection of desserts and service is very good. I love how they have both savory and sweet pastries

Wish they had more vegan desserts! Their vegan chocolate hazelnut cake is one of my favorites. Also love their hot chocolate in oat milk!
There is always room for dessert, especially when it's a dark chocolate dessert. Yum! About 30 minutes after my cousin and I finished enjoying our meals at Pizza Antica, I saw this bakery across the street, so she and I ventured over to take a peek at what they had to offer. There wasn't an initial intention to get any dessert, but after seeing all the sweets in their display case, I opted in. I ended up getting a dark chocolate dessert, that looked like a large "Ho Ho", it was really good, not too rich and not very dense. It was more on the lighter side. Needless to say she and I polished it off. Cost wise, I felt like the cost was about average. She and I shared the dessert outside on their patio to the side of the bakery. It was a special treat to purchase a dessert, not something I normally get to do.
Always busy. We usually stopped by for some coffee and pastries after dinner from one of the many restaurants in Santana Row. This time, they sold out most of their pastries and cakes. We had to settled with what they have left. Overall, they are good, but the apple tart was off. The crust was not cooked all the way and the apples are bland. Not much of flavor. My latte was only lukewarm. Not what I was expecting. Hope this is just one of those day when things are a bit hectic and not to par.
We enjoyed the Cherry Sunrise, Rouge and 3 layer chocolate mousse. While each of them tasted really good individually, we loved the cherry sunrise and chocolate mousse the most. I'd say the experience overall was alright, the ambiance and service could've been a bit better, no wow factor but nothing to complain about either!
Went on Xmas day and it was super busy so we waited 1/2 hour for our order but I guess that was because of the day. However the food was good.
The bakery does amazing job at presenting all their products. The aisle filled with amazing looking desserts are all tempting and one will desire to try them all. Taste wise i felt they were little on the sweeter tone for my palate. It's location is also amazing in a nice upscale street with lot of other coffee shops, restaurants and bars.
Very expensive and very small! its bakery is good and it tastes good, but if it is expensive, I really like Le Sultan Hazelnut Cake, Bamboo Mousse & the croissants. In general they have very good desserts, the atmosphere is pleasant because you can sit outside and enjoy the view while eating your dessert. sometimes it depends on the time, there is a queue or not, the staff is some friendly and others make a bad face, once while I thought about what to take, the one who attended me was annoyed because I took my time, even when paying, I was in angry, you go for something sweet and they make you bitter face, but in general I like their products.
It's definitely a must visit place if you are in San Jose. I got a chance to try 4-5 of their items and every item lived up to the expectation. The baked items are not too sweet which I liked. They have a wide variety of items. They have pastries as well and so you have a good breakfast. It's usually crowded. So you may have to wait a few mins for a table. Giving 4 stars because some of the staff were a bit mean.
A great place that offers variety of baked foods like croissants (chocolate, almond with sugar dusted and filled with cream, strawberry, regular), danish, pastries, cakes, and many such. For me the filling in croissant seemed a bit eggy, I guess that needs to be left in the oven a little more. Other than that, friendly staff, clean location, quick service. Of course they offer beverages which we loved (note: it’s a lot of chai latte and coffee). They serve hot sandwiches, soups and salad if you wish to grab a quick bite. Visited this place on a Saturday so expected the crowds, great location. Would totally recommend it.
Stopped by Cocola at Santana Row right at opening on a Saturday. No crowd at all, which made it a relaxing start to the day. I got a hot mocha, the flavor was average, but the portion size was generous and the price surprisingly affordable for Santana Row. Tried the mushroom croissant and was really pleased. it had a nice savory umami flavor. Also had a pistachio croissant, which was decent but tasted like it wasn’t made fresh that morning. Pastries are on the pricier side and the quality is average. Service was fast and the baristas were friendly. Outdoor seating was lovely, and there’s plenty of parking, but it’s only free for the first two hours.
Located in happening Santana Row and open late till midnight, this is a great place for late coffee and dessert cravings. Ample seating inside and outside available. Got a tiramisu dessert and it was good. Was there at around 10:30 pm there on a Friday and it wasn't very crowded, but the line got longer around 11pm.
This coffee shop is in a great location. Has a wide variety of pastries and a decent selection of coffee drinks. He sat outside and santana has great people watching, but the traffic sounds are pretty loud. The food and drinks are fairly delicious and well made. But the outside chairs are really uncomfortable, not so much possibility for lingering.
It’s a small cafe that has a lot of sweets and desserts. Some of the best tasting desserts in the area. It’s located right in the Santana Row strip so it’s nice to snack off and walk around the area. They have sandwiches, desserts, and coffee. It’s a bit pricey but kind of expected for the Santana Row area. We got a cream cheese croissant and a coffee for about $16. Overall, a great place but could be a bit crowded in the evening. A nice place for an evening stroll.
Amazing favorite spot I visit to get my #1 Palmier and Bamboo \nVery comfortable place to come and seat and eat to enjoy a peaceful time. I do recommend Cocola Bakery to all.

Have been here many times, great place to take a break from shopping at Santana Row. It has limited seatings indoor, but lots of outdoor seatings, with heaters on in the winter. It offers salads, sandwiches, deserts and coffee. Coffee and drinks are typically okay. However, I have noticed that its desert selections and quality has deteriorated.
Second time I am trying to order and whoever takes over the uber eats, simply cancels my order 30 min I after I placed it. Ok I tried it again another day - same thing, not even a message, yak!
The coffee are pretty good. The 🍰 are definitely very beautiful to look at. Considering how much they cost, I feel the taste is just ok. Their look are much better than their taste. The apple tart we had wasn't very flaky. The mango passion fruit cake is good. The shell on the fruit tart is way too hard. We went on a weekend so it was quite crowded. I feel the experience was fine. It's a nice bakery with pretty looking pastries with average taste. It's just not outstanding.

I can't say much about the other things they've got, but for their chai latte, it changed for the worst. First and foremost, the chai latte I ordered this time was far from what I remembered. There has been a noticeable change in the quality of the drink since my last visit, and not for the better. The overall experience of drinking it was quite disappointing. The flavor was incredibly weak, almost as if the drink had been watered down significantly. It tasted like water and a sprinkle of chai. Not worth the $8 Aside from the chai latte, I found the service to be alright. The staff was quick and efficient in taking and delivering orders, but there was nothing particularly memorable about the service Ambiance is cute though
I heard about this place before. Today I stopped by and brought w pieces of cake. Very disappointed, the food is not fresh and nut taste like old oil. I won't come back anymore.

The staff and quality of food was horrid. I asked for a latte and the server brought me an iced latte which is fine but then when I mentioned that I had asked for a regular latte she scoffed at me and said well this is what I made. Then I asked for my latte and then they proceeded to speak in Spanish about how I didn’t and say not positive commentary... I understand Spanish. I think that was highly inappropriate. I am a business owner and I think they will be loosing quite a bit of business for how horrid their staff are. Went next door instead for a pleasant experience.
I don’t who saw “friendly” staff here… they don’t speak, look at you as you are sick or dirty.. I asked where I can take a spoon for an ice cream - guy just pointed with the finger towards the zone where it can be. I didn’t see it and he just pointed one more time… not a single word ! If I was an owner of this place I would pay attention to the service.
Stale pistachio croissant My friend and I ordered the pistachio cream croissant and even paid a 15% tip which was about 9.5$ The pistachio cream croissant was stale and taste so bad. Highly dissatisfied. In fact, we want to sit and eat and they didn’t even put the croissant on a plate just put it in a paper to-go bag. When I went up to ask the person at the counter that I want to eat here, he just handed me a plate🙄
Cheaters..The strawberry cake we ordered was stale. They were ignorant of our complain and said we ate it half we literally had a piece all the strawberry were right there. They didn't even remove the remaining cakes from the rack...still selling and cheating customers. I had a experience before with a friend's food order.
I've been been to this coffee shop twice and both times it disappoints.. I ordered an iced latte with an extra shot and a splash of half-and-half Because I like my coffee, strong and not so much. They did the opposite they put so much half-and-half It tasted so bad. When I went to tell them to remake it, They took it and just added an extra shot to the same latte they gave me originally and that did not do anything different. Tasted just as bad. That's the worst customer service .. When someone tells you they don't like it, you remake it the right way . I will not return to coffee shop nor do I recommend it. I've had way better coffee shops in San Jose. I added a photo to show you how much milk they added.
This place use to be my favorite for pastries, and they still do, but customer service at the lowest point I had experienced recently, I usually go for lunch and or breakfast at least once a week. This morning I ordered my usual smoked salmon croissant and a cinnamon roll and my usual coffee latte I finished with my savory croissant and I started having my cinnamon roll croissant. Cinnamon roll was not tasty. It was very dry, and it didn’t meet my expectation, I went to exchange it for another pastry, the counter person called the manager, I explained to her that I tasted it and it’s not what I expected , she looked at it and insisted that I am wrong , because it’s in her opinion was fresh( which was not my point). She said “ she will do it just this time”. I believe we still in the great country called USA, where the motto “ customer’s always right” Attached my exchanged pastry which was just as dry, burned and tasteless and as it appears to everyone that it’s almost burned , which confirm my claim, that cocola is over baking their items causing them to dry and even burned This is not what someone would expect from a place located in Santana Row. Thanks for the good treatment , I’m definitely taking my business somewhere else. Good luck cocola with this attitude.
I was really disappointed with the service at Cocola in Santana Row today. I ordered a mint tea and paid, then sat down with my pastry. Only after all of that did I get told they were out of mint tea. At that point, I was forced to choose something else I didn’t want, instead of being informed up front or offered a refund. This feels like a basic customer service miss — if something is unavailable, that should be communicated before taking payment, not after. The situation could have been handled much better with proper staff training and management support. A simple heads-up or proactive offer to refund would have gone a long way. Hoping management improves how customer issues like this are handled in the future.
I can’t believe how badly this place treats customers. The first time I came, I found hair in my food. This time, I ordered a hot drink and cake and got a cold milk drink instead — served with pure disrespect. How can a business charge over $9 for a tiny piece of cake and still act like customers don’t matter? The staff clearly have no idea how to treat people with basic respect, and management doesn’t seem to care at all. Such a shame — this place could be great, but it’s completely ruined by careless service and rude behavior.
This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at a café! I ordered a hot latte, but they brought me a cold one — their mistake, not mine. Instead of apologizing, the woman there spoke with rude, disrespectful, and condescending attitude. When I asked for the correct drink, she gave me only half a cup and said it’s because I had “tasted” the first one. That’s absolutely shameful behavior. I’ve never seen such disrespect toward customers anywhere. Their cakes are always stale, their salads are low quality, and now their attitude matches the food — awful.
Had a terrible experience here today. Went in with my cousins and decided to get a pastry that had a listed price of $6.95, but when we paid, we were charged $10.45 instead. When we asked about it, they said that was the old price and they hadn't changed the tag. They refused to honor the listed price and refused to provide any other resolution besides a refund. Swallowing a 60% increase in the listed price was just too much, so we left empty-handed.
While at Santana row, we frequently dtop here for savories, pastry and hot chocolate. Today they refused to give us a spare ceramic cup. We requested someone does not like chemicals leech from the paper cup, they made such a beautiful g deal and did not budge. Something as bout how they don't have sufficient, while there were plenty around. Even a small capuchino cup. I am sure they have had their reasons bug sometimes you have to think of customer service. The goodwill they can earn. Sigh. The whole idea of stopping there is a feel good stop, they are not serving anything exclusive that you determine to get.
I came here full of hope… and left full of regret. Tried the “Vanilla Napoleon” – turns out Napoleon had better luck at Waterloo. It was the single worst dessert I’ve had in my life. Flaky? More like fakey. Creamy? More like why is this happening to me. To make matters worse, my tea cup smelled like boiled eggs. If I wanted a surprise protein with my tea, I’d have gone to the gym. I trusted the 4.2 stars, but clearly some of those were given during a sugar rush-induced hallucination. Proceed with caution (and maybe bring nose plugs).
It’s truly disappointing that a cafe in such a prime location, right in Santana Row, the heart of San Jose, serves such low-quality pastries. You call this a Chocolate Eclair? Seriously? It wasn’t fresh at all and didn’t resemble a proper eclair, which should be light, puffy, and filled with fresh cream. And the cupcake? It was more like a dense paste than an actual cupcake. It’s a shame to encounter such poor-quality pastries in a place like this. It feels like the management doesn’t care about maintaining quality standards.
Their tap payment look old and don't work properly. If you ever end here with a Sapphire Visa card not accepted, like It happen to me. I recommend walking a couple of more blocks and visit Cafe Augustine, great service and delicious.
We have been going to this place for a few years now. The atmosphere is great on Friday and Saturday nights, but the desserts are expensive, and the quality is just okay, not great. However, the most frustrating experience we had on 10/7/25 was the very poor service. Usually, there are no servers, and you take your coffee and pastries to a vacant seat. This time, we decided to sit inside because the music and smoke smell outside were overwhelming, as the place is next to a nightclub. I put my 2-year-old in a seat next to a table while my wife went to place the order. Within a few minutes, a crazy woman came from inside and asked us to move because the seat was reserved for wheelchair customers. I understand her point, but considering the place was busy, we couldn't move to another table as none were available. Typically, if someone in a wheelchair asked us to move, we would have done so without hesitation. However, in this case, there was no customer requesting the seat, and the woman was quite rude about it. Not only did she move us, but a few minutes later, another family tried to sit in the same spot, and she again came from the counter and demanded they find another place. This family also felt uncomfortable with the service. I think this woman must be the owner or manager of the restaurant, but she should understand that speaking rudely to customers will negatively affect the business, and nobody wants that. Regardless, we are unlikely to visit this place again because we felt insulted after receiving such poor service.
Ordered a Bamboo Mango cake for my guests and asked few times if it was fresh and the lady said it is made daily. After serving it to my guests, they all said its frozen. Called the store and instead of apologizing the lady said, "it is what it is, I can't microwave the cake for you" and hang up the phone. This was not the first that I got Bamboo Cake from here but it is for sure the last time. I spent $60 dollars for a frozen cake and top of that was treated with disrespect. Do not buy anything from Cocola anymore they have low quality, none fresh bakeries and workers are very rude and disrespectful.
I ordered a sandwich, a coffee, and a cup of hot water. I later realized that the hot water was a paid item, which was fine. However, the hot water was served in two stacked disposable cups, and I noticed afterward that the bottom cup had been reused. I’m not sure if this is considered normal practice or if additional staff training might be needed, so I’ll leave that judgment to you.
This is an overpriced and overrated food spot. Go elsewhere if you’re looking for quality French pastries. We got a flaky pastry with a crème filling, and it was absolute trash: it tasted stale and unoriginal (I think some pillsbury DIY dessert is better than this). Cappuccino was nothing special. Only decent thing was the iced banana mocha. Overpriced (3 items cost $21). Seating was cramped, and they looked like they were still setting up. Do not recommend.
