This is an all time favorite restaurant. Small town feel. EXCELLENT food and ABOVE average service. Usually decent parking available, great for solo lunch or a big family meal together. Morning or night. I regularly come in and am never disappointed, the menu has something amazing for every type of person and every palate. Close to downtown, close to the freeway. Definitely worth the stop if you are in the area. Support our local businesses and eat at this SLO town favorite! HIGHLY recommend their burrito menu. Also, beautiful outdoor seating, even warm on cool SLO evenings. If you enjoy a warm atmosphere then this is the spot.

I’ve been here a couple times. Their chili verde burrito is the best I’ve had in the SLO area. Good taco and burrito place but average for the other dishes like fajitas (not homemade flour tortillas, get the corn) or enchiladas. Great service and good sized coke glasses.

This place is amazing, and being Mexican myself I appreciate having this place in town. The atmosphere is amazing and probably the best part about this place. Colors all over the wall and was amazing seeing the culture in this place. The salsa bar was great, but one thing to note is just how extensive the menu was! It seemed overwhelming but , honestly this place doesn’t follow that “quality over quantity” rule because we had all sorts of things and everything was great. The King Burrito for me was great, the nachos were amazing as it all was hot and crispy, definitely check this place out, looking forward to trying more stuff

After a 4 hour drive to San Luis Obispo for a soccer tournament, this place really hit the apot to end the day. The prices are decent and the food was amazing. Their Lucky Day I.P.A beer is a must for I.P.A fans. I ordered their quesadillas de asada and it was nice and hot when they served it. Went ahead and washed everything down with a double shot of Tequila. Such a nice finish to it. The vibe in the restaurant is amazing. I honestly don't know how that restaurant wasn't packed. Everything was perfect and my family and I left very satisfied. I wished I lived closer because we'd be dining there every weekend.

They have the best burritos and nachos I have ever had. Everything was fresh and delicious. Lots of salsa choices too. The waitress was friendly and very helpful. The menu had a lot of choices on it. No matter what you order... you're going to enjoy it. Use there large variety of salsa with your meal. Try the corn salsa mixed with the mango salsa on your meal. Delicious!!!!

We came in to SLO to get away for the weekend. While looking for a place to eat... we landed on Mexican food bc ...c'mon... that's always the Go To meal when eating. We ordered on a Saturday night a couple hours before they closed. They in fact do deliver but u just missed their driver. Our hotel wasn't only but a mile away so I decided to drive there to pick it up. The young man who took my order was courteous and professional... and all our food was done with love. When I arrived at Taco King, the place looks like it would be a good place to eat, drink and be merry but if course covid had to F that up. Lol. But, I parked, walked in and he verified my order. He was very friendly and offered me plates, utensils and salsa. The food was delicious! I'll definitely be coming back here to order again and hopefully, have a proper drink when the Erf opens back up to normal... Did someone say micheladas!

Very nice local mexican place here in SLO. Got served some very tasty salsa to enjoy with some chips as an appetizer. I also ordered a horchata which in past experiences is a little watered down but today it was very rich and flavorfull. I ordered the mole enchiladas which were very delicous. The beans were ok however the rice was extremly addicting. Service was very fast and they always have great programs on their tvs playing something for everyone.

3/29/22 Tuesday. Chicken Chipotle burrito was super delicious, also salsa, chips were very good. Interior was looking nice. I will try more menu items next visit.

Great spot tucked into small strip center. Fantastic decor. Food was solid and servers efficient. Negra Modelo on tap, too…score! Will return and recommend.

My dining party wasn't hungry enough to fully enjoy the amazing dishes at this Mexican restaurant. Don't let the name of the restaurant, Taco King, fool you. The menu items are diverse are sizable enough for those with hefty appetites. We ordered the fajitas, a burrito plate, and molcajete. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish any of the dishes, which are priced okay for the quantity of food but I wouldn't come here if you're trying to grab a quick bite. I am, however, coming back to enjoy the molcajete again.

Super cute place with in and outdoor dining. The shrimp cocktail was very good, full or large delicious shrimp (they did not skimp). Great salsa bar as well.

Wanted to try their al pastor tacos, tasted bland and more like carne asada with bland seasoning flavor. The person taking my order didn't like that I asked if they had taco Tuesday. Some restaurants have it, and I didn't need a snappy response. I didn't like the atmosphere, the main chef appeared to be making some insensitive remarks that others don't need to hear, probably expecting customers to not know Spanish.

We’ve had excellent service from literally every waiter and busboy here, except Omar. He needs to go. We said last time we dealt with him that this would be our last visit, but decided to try it one more time and had another horrible experience with him. He has terrible customer service skills and won’t admit when he’s made a mistake. He tried to tell me I told him I ordered the wrong food, when everyone at the table heard me tell him exactly what I wanted. It’s a shame this place has gone downhill and prices have skyrocketed, since it used to be the go-to Mexican restaurant in SLO.

This place has great service and a great atmosphere BUT the food was overpriced and just ok. When traveling, we play it safe and try to eat at Mexican restaurants because you can't go wrong, right? Nope. My son ordered cilaquiles, which were a 2/10. My daughter got cheese enchiladas, which were a 3/10, and she is being generous. My other daughter got albondigas, and she was basically eating tomato soup with meatballs 2/10. My baby got chicken strips, which she didn't eat because they were burned 0/10. Who serves burned food. Our waitress noticed but didn't say anything. I got coke rellenos, which I give a 3/10. The food would have been better if they had seasoned it more because it was bland. I normally don't add salt to my food, but I just had to this time. It would have received a higher rating if the chicken strips were not overcooked.
