Finally got to try this Sichuan spot I’ve been hearing so much about! Since we had our 2-year-old with us, we stuck to non-spicy dishes, but everything was still honestly so good. The soup was amazing—really unique flavor. The service was top-notch, too. The staff was super sweet with our little one and even gave him a gift on our way out. Such a great experience!

As chengdu local people. This sichuan style food I can confirm is very original. And its service is very friendly and price is surprisingly reasonable as well. If you love Chinese spicy food from sichuan chengdu you must try.

We’ve been here a few times now and it’s the quality of food you’d only find in SF or Oakland. Authentic and exceptional in all counts. It’s clean and comfortable with great service. My only disappointment is no Hong Kong style noodles but this is not a Cantonese region restaurant, I still enjoy it. The beef and tripe dish is outstanding!

This certainly looks and does taste like what I imagine a very authentic Chinese restaurant to be like. The menu is quite extensive, and though we got the spicy garlic eggplant and the sweet-and-sour fish, were many other dishes I would like to try. The service is very friendly but there was a little difficulty in understanding the waitress and the interior is certainly clean but a little sterile - so not really about the atmosphere - only the food. For the price, the portion size was good too!

Best chinese food in the Bay area. Both authentic chinese and adapted for American taste. Very fresh ingredients, huge portions and friendly staff

I was absolutely impressed by their authentic flavors and impeccable presentation. The boiling fish (沸騰魚) was a true delight—perfectly marinated, tender, and infused with just the right amount of spice. Every bite was bursting with flavor and warmth. The stir-fried pork (回鍋肉) was equally outstanding. The pork was succulent, paired with fresh, crisp vegetables, and cooked to perfection with a rich, savory sauce that complemented the dish beautifully. Not only was the food phenomenal, but the service and ambiance of the restaurant also made the experience memorable. If you’re in the San Ramon area and looking for a place to enjoy authentic, high-quality Chinese Sichuan cuisine, China Lounge is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Most loved sichuan restaurant in Bay Area. Pepper beef and boiling fish are strongly recommended. Love it!

Very authentic Chinese food. Environment is okay. Nice but not a very new indoor decoration. Dishes are good. It's the second time we visit here. Meet expection taste. Price is a little expensive.

Tried their spicy hot pot (Mao Cai) today and it was amazing! Generous portions, super fresh ingredients, and the broth was flavorful without being too greasy. You can adjust the spice level to your taste, which I really liked. The staff were friendly and even offered me a free drink — nice touch! Definitely a go-to spot if you’re craving something authentic and satisfying.

Delicious Twice-Cooked Pork Belly & Great Service – Highly Recommended I had a fantastic meal at this restaurant, enjoying the twice-cooked pork belly, fried dumplings, and a Sapporo beer. The twice-cooked pork belly stood out as the highlight of the meal—the combination of crispy yet tender pork with vegetables added a great balance of texture and flavor. The slight crunch of the veggies paired perfectly with the soft, crispy pork belly. The fried dumplings were good, though not the best I’ve had. However, the dipping sauce was incredible, elevating the dish and making it much more enjoyable. Beyond the food, the service was excellent, adding to an overall great experience. The restaurant serves food family-style, meaning dishes are meant to be shared rather than each person having their own individual plate. It’s something to keep in mind when dining here, but it worked well for the meal. I’d highly recommend this place for anyone looking for flavorful Chinese cuisine, especially if you enjoy sharing dishes. I had a great time and would definitely return!

I’m happy that there’s a new, high-quality Chinese restaurant in San Ramon! We ordered the salted egg fried rice, which was amazing, with pork floss on top. It did actually taste like salted egg. My favorite dish is the chicken claypot. The chicken is tender and there’s a lot of it plus mushrooms and veggies! The sauce tastes good but it was a bit too oily—I hope they can reduce the amount of oil next time. The dandan noodles had the right kick, but it didn’t include ground meat. I’m not sure if they intended for this dish to be meatless or if they just forgot. Their sweet and sour fish had just the right amount of crispy, thin batter, and it wasn’t swimming in sauce, which I appreciated—you can actually taste the fish! The serving size is enough for 2-3 people, and for the price, I’d say it’s affordable given how generous the portions are. Service is good and attentive when we went around 1:30pm. We will come back to try other Sichuan dishes.

This restaurant has been a family favorite and I’m so glad to have finally experienced China Lounge! The food is so delicious and authentic - you can tell the chef values the details. Service was also super quick and friendly. Excited to be back soon! #chinaloungesanramon

Best deal in the San Ramon! Good quality at about 33% lower cost compared to other neighborhood spots. Most people take out, as the restaurant is very big nor attractive. I ordered the Grilled fish and pickled peppers pork tripe are very delicious, moreover the price are the total reasons to try it. I recommend for no frills and good value.

If I could give 10 starts, I would! Food is delicious and the service is 10/10. I had a seafood plate, and wonton soup. My husband had twice cooked pork belly and we ate it all. Portions are generous. You have to come!

Good spicy food on the menu. Hot and sour soup isn’t bad, but I’d skip the beef scallion pancakes.

Ingredients were fresh with decent portions for take-out. Different spices and flavor than typical Chinese cuisine in this area. Right amount of spicy that doesn't burn taste buds or drown out seasonings. Saw cozy atmosphere with a lot of families and friends gathering while waiting for food.

The location used to be one of my favorite Shanghainese restaurants but it probably changed owner so it's now Sichuan food. Even before going my friend told me that there really isn't too many choices for good Chinese food around the area so my expectations wasn't that high. Even so I don't think it gives you a good value for the quality of the food. First, I know it's a Sichuan restaurant but even so it has probably the weirdest Mongolian beef I've ever had as they fried the beef. The Boiling Beef is much better but nothing to write home about. Basically everything I had was so so. The frog was not fresh. And the best is probably the cabbage dry pot which is ironic because it's literally the easiest dish. Overall for the price I would say it's worth even 3 stars. I'm giving it this rating just because this area is so lacking in Chinese food. Service is alright and I could tell right away the people working there are not from the Sichuan area. The biggest redeeming value is that they don't automatically add big tip for large group. It's however really expensive for what you get. Overall it's a restaurant that you only go if you live around the area but avoid if you live closer to better places in the Bay Area.

Szechuan food is supposed to be spicy and numbing. Most dishes looked spicy but it is not. It is more on the salty side, imo. String beans - good flavor and al dente. It’s lightly fried and got a crunch to it. Not like those from Korean Chinese places where it is over fried and mushy. It is quite tasty. Eggplant 魚香茄子- also tasty Fried chicken wings 炸子雞- crispy, juicy and tasty. Fish casserole 水者魚- this dish looks spicy but it is not. It is the greasiest and saltiest out of all the dishes. I stayed away after just one bite.

This restaurant’s reputation is a total farce. We were seated without a menu, water, acknowledgment or a single word of warning—no heads-up that the kitchen was drowning or that service would be non-existent. The lack of communication was a deliberate trap. After an agonizing wait, we realized their "strategy" was to pacify us by dropping one single dish at a time only when we complained. It was a joke. After an hour of watching surrounding tables stew in the same collective frustration, we had only been served two cold appetizers. It’s truly impressive to be that incompetent. If it takes this much effort and "nagging" just to get cold starters to the table, I can only assume the kitchen is in a state of total collapse. We eventually walked out, refusing to waste another minute of our lives being held hostage by a staff that treats basic service like an inconvenience. If you value your time, do not step foot in this disorganized disaster.
