Had a great time celebrating my father in laws birthday. Good food good service.
Ribeye is delicious! Tender, juicy, oh !! Gill was serving us and he was awesome! Sharp, efficient, so friendly and nice! Atmosphere was joyful!
Great place for Mexican food. Service was great. Full bar a plus.
The staff and the restaurant are wonderful. I love how invested into the community they are. I have been able to come here for a verity of different events and just for lunch and dinner. Everyone from the bus boy to the manager make it a point to great you and provide great service.
Super friendly stuff and really good food! The tortilla soup is really good! And there’s a lot to choose from on the menu
For us, Spoon’s is a blast from the past, a bit of 90s-early 2000s nostalgia for the times when you could visit a local Spoon’s (like in Fullerton). But while times have changed, their good ol’ California burgers haven’t. Still tasty as ever on a fresh brioche bun with a slop of guacamole surrounded by fresh lettuce and tomato. Oh, and a nice portion of crispy fries on the side. Honestly, it’s all I’ve ever eaten there. We don’t go often. But when we want to remember the good ol’ days, Spoon’s is our favorite go-to eatery.
Nice place with great food. Fair priced but worth it. I am a local Irvine business owner and I go in order and get take out.
Traveling through southern Cali, I stopped at a hotel and this bar/grill was next to it. What a great surprise. The food was excellent. I had chips, queso and salsa for appetizer. Came out hot and very good. I had the fajitas with steak and shrimp for my main entree. It came with lots of steak, shrimp, grilled veggies, rice, beans and tortillas. The food was sizzling hot and stayed cooking on the cast iron plate it was delivered to my table on. I often am underwhelmed with fajitas at many restaurants, but this little place really hit a homerun with their treatment of this dish. I was delighted and left full. The staff likewise was fast, efficient and gracious. They constantly checked on my drink and the food came out in quick order. The pricing was reasonable for the top end dish I ordered. If I stay in the area again, I will certainly return. While I dont normally recommend bar and grills for mexican food, I thoroughly enjoyed this fajita dinner. Enough for two. Great stuff.
I came here earlier afternoonish for food, had the salmon, it was cooked an seasoned really well compared to similar kinds of locations. The bartender was a rockstar, he was waiting on everyone an the bar with drinks an food, there was a big group of guys an he was on top of refilling off an their drinks and checking closing out all the non drinkers in the restaurant area. No entertainment so I can’t speak on that. But would try it again if I’m traveling an visiting the area again .
It's been a long time since I been in the spoons but I work close to Santa Ana location so I tried it today went in around lunch time order the chicken fajitas on the lunch special and a Coors Light few problems one the bartender charges me the regular price for the fajitas but then would only take $5 off to correct it then they charge it almost $10 for a large Coors Light which is high by bar standards but my main problem was when the bill came this place has the nerve to charge what they call a surcharge on card payments basically they're charging you to use your debit card to pay them for the mail you just had I have a major problem with that how you going to charge customers to use their debit cards or credit cards or whatever based on that alone I'm not coming back even though the food was pretty good
Ordered Tamarind Margarita -- fabulous! Highly recommend if you're a margarita fan. Service was fabulous and the restaurant was very clean. My husband and I split the California Burger and it was more than enough for the both of us. Guacamole on the burger was fantastic. The tables next to us ordered a tostada and the enchiladas -- they look tasty as well.
Spoons is suffering from an identity crisis...is it American, is it Italian, is it Mexican? The menu is heavy Mexican, but so far as to give you chips and salsa at the table. You have to purchase that... The apps looked appealing, but the table behind us left a whole plate of calamari, so I'm not sure how to interpret that. The fish tacos I ordered were much like you'd get at a place like BJs or other chain shop. They came with beans and rice, which still muddies the water on identity. The club sandwich was a strong contender from a few plates I saw go by. My buddy tried it, but didn't read well and didn't have the onion removed. He should have paid better attention. Wait staff is very attentive and brought refills before the cups were completely empty. Food came out quickly and the over experience was good. I'd definitely like to tryore of the menu...except for that strange spaghetti dish. Did it have chili on it? Cannot remember, but it was an odd pairing.
We were staying at a hotel nearby. Decided to walk over there for dinner...myself and 2 kiddos. Looks like they were doing some remodeling inside since they had a ladder out and that side of restaurant was empty. We were seated right away. Our waiter was decent but very slow with coming back to table. Place was not that busy. It was our first time at this restaurant. We ordered our drinks and asked for another minute to make final selections on dinner. Took like 10 mins to come back. Food took about normal time to come out. My daughter ended up getting no chili on her chili cheese hotdog. He came by twice to check on us while I had food in my mouth. Took another 10 mins it felt like to get box for food. Then bill got dropped off and then like another 10 mins for him to come back to get it. 3% surcharge to pay by card. Food was alright. I ordered the burger and ate about half, started feeling weird (maybe too greasy or it may have been due to the smell of the lettuce on the burger). Place was just alright.
80s night, reserved a table *bottle service told $150 while having dinner. By the time I requested my table it was given away after some back and forth I got the table but the bottle service was now $175. While having dinner got my carne asada plate *good by the way but I had to almost go inside the kitchen to get my tortillas waiter was also the bartender with a line of 20 people at least. He was doing his best but very badly organized. ALL CHiCKENS WITH NO HEAD working the event... food was goid
I found a roach crawling on my leg during the meal. The server was nice and apologetic and gave me 10% off, but still... I won't go back there again.
Took 30 minutes for a waitress to take our order.. Another 20 for 2 waters n a drink. Table was dirty I had yo clean it Was freezing asked if they could adjust ac and I was wearing a sweater also and still cold I asked 4 people to adjust AC.. Was never done ac was constantly on We Ordered calamari and it was ok Yes hot but they also served fish sticks mixed in which I didn't want plus a sur charge if you use card which was not posted any where But the band was great Soto But ill probably not go back due to service seems like the manager was to busy taking shots with friends instead of hosting the whole place like his job entails
Visiting from St. Louis Missouri went in to restaurant for the first time visiting California purchase the naked chicken and french fries, fries and cheeseburger and end up with food poisoning first time in my life that I ever had food poisoning so disappointed. Messed up my whole trip. The food was actually good. I ate the neck, wings, and the fries at night. Woke up that morning. Ate a cheeseburger and that’s when I got sick.
This place ruined what could’ve been an amazing night. Wife & I made a long trip to visit this place as we had heard great things from a coworker. We booked one of the very nearby hotels, walked there as everything (Google hours & Spoons social media) indicated they were open. Turns out they failed to announce otherwise so we found out the hard way showing up & when we reached out via provided phone number they boldly lied & claimed they were open but we called their bluff by sending a picture of their own establishment clearly closed which is when they finally admitted they didn’t properly update customers. They hesitantly apologized half heartedly & didn’t care to offer any compensation for the inconvenience & deceit.
I recommend not to go. They robbed me . They don't tell you that you use your card its a 3% from the total. They just circle it thinking that we are going to see that. Never I ever waste so much for myself 90 something. So I said ok whatever. Then I checked my account, and they charged me more after I paid. Beer was not cold. Food no favor. Please careful I highly recommend not to go. I want my money back.
