Avis sur Casa Comal Santa Barbara
We randomly picked here during a quick overnight stay and it did not disappoint! The tacos were amazing, the service was exceptional and the atmosphere was chill and just what we were looking for after driving all day. The passionfruit margarita was also super good. Definitely stop here if you want incredible tacos!!
This was my first stop after flying into Santa Barbara and it did not disappoint! Growing up on Mexican food, these hit home. The freshly made tortillas, agua de jamaica, the salsa, the tender meat- absolute *chefs kiss*. HIGHLY recommend. I got the taco de lengua and taco de al pastor. Service was really fast too.
The service provided was excellent, and the food had good flavor. Our order included a plate of two queso birria with black beans and rice, as well as four tacos consisting of pastor, cabeza, azteca, and birria. Beautiful view.
Authentic Mexican food! Their handmade tortillas are delicious and the flavor is exceptional. Reminded me of the tacos in Mexico City.
**yummy Eats with Fresh Flavors** I dined here today and was both impressed and taken aback at how fresh the tortillas were. For $60, I got 4 fresh, homemade tortillas and a chicken and veggie bowl topped with freshly made guacamole. While the ingredients were clearly high quality and everything tasted fresh, the price felt a smidge on the high side... but I would definitely come back The flavors were on point—each bite showcasing the care that went into the preparation. If you’re looking for fresh, homemade food and don’t mind splurging, this place is worth trying. On point horchata too!
We went here right at openings time so we were able to get our food very quickly. We decided to order a chicken quesadilla and they gave us green salsa on the side that was very yummy. They also offer octopus tacos which I may decide to try next time!
Very authentic, reminds me of food my mom and grandma use to make me when I was young.
Pastor, shrimp, asada, and birria tacos, scrumptious. Nice service. Food was prepared to order, served nice and hot.
Delicious food and lovely location. Can’t go wrong with it

Very friendly service, nice atmosphere and fantastic tacos! They also have a good Taco Tuesday deal!
Casa Comal Cocina has new owners, and WOW have they done a great job changing the menu. The Fish Taco was outstanding! I recommend this place, so stop by and enjoy some really good food!
Passing by, I was looking for a place to eat and I was craving Mexican food. I honestly did not expect much from it, but the food did not disappoint. The guacamole was amazing, very authentic. The asada meat well cooked. Love their salsa. 10/10 place would recommend coming back.
Loved the queso fundido and shrimp taco. Margarita was mid. Good prices, would go again

We ordered takeout, it was quick and the food was delicious! Definitely one of our new favorite spots.
I have been here several times after I came for the first time and was blown away. I have been chasing my first experience but haven't been able to recreate anything close. My first time coming was greeted with an overworked owner, and one cook in the back, but they made us feel like family when we were there. They served us chips and salsa while we waited for our 3-each tacos. My favorite has always been the chicken mole. Their tortillas are homemade and KILLER! Best handmade tortillas in town, in my opinion. Their salsas are pretty good but definitely not the best in town. I haven't seen the owner working in probably a year, so not sure what happened... the food is consistently good but never great. And the atmosphere is alright but it doesn't enhance your experience.
I was there for lunch time. Very good quesadilla plate (choice of meet: carne asada), for $8,5. Quality is there! However still hungry after eating it. I would recommend to take an apetizer or a taco next to it ;)

Good place for tacos and beer. The bar has plenty of options.

The restaurant was not at all up to expectations based on Google reviews and ratings. Atmosphere was silent and non-happening. They didn’t have enough seats indoors for our party of 9 and we had to sit outside in the cold. They just had one heater, which was not enough. Coming to the food; there were hits n misses. We liked the Tacos; fish, lemon chicken and octopus tacos were all good. But Birria was sad; consome was ordinary, watery and had no depth in flavor. Sope and Gordita were very forgettable as well; just a bunch of cabbage/lettuce placed over a bread with some meat. They didn’t even have a hot salsa to serve with it; not even if we needed it in order separately. Overall; not anywhere close to real Mexican food experience. I have had many times better than this at roadside trucks and hole in a wall shops. Won’t come back again.
Local shop on State St. Difficult to order if you do not speak Spanish. My son wanted tacos but came out with one with neat and cheese(?). Only customers there and it took a very long time for food to come out. Chips and guacamole that was supposed to be appetizer came out last. I don't know if I'd go back. Food was good, just not enough of an experience to bring me back.

My wife ordered the tortilla soup that comes with avocado, tomatoes, onions and cilantro....except they didn't include the avocado, tomatoes, onion and cilantro (they forgot to tell us they were out of it before we ordered). The other food might be good..just not the tortilla soup (without avocados, tomatoes, onions and cilantro)

RESTAURANT FOOD IS OK. AT FIRST IT WAS AWESOME, NOW FOOD AND STAFF ARE OK. OUR CREW NEED TO WAIT TIL EVENING TO EAT, THE STREET TACO ARE SOO GOOD AND WE CAN SEE THEM COOKING IT. THEY ALL WEAR GLOVES AND CHEAPER.4 TACOS $10 . HANDMADE TORTILLAS. LATE NIT DINNERS. YOUR FOOD IS NEVER PRECOOKED LIKE RESTAURANTS AND YOU DO SEE THEM COOKING IT,THAT THE BEST THING. STREET VENDORS ARE THE FUTURE OF FOOD
Burritos and tortas were not good. I have never seen a Burrito or torta with guacamole and pico de Gallo it was honestly gross. We ended up throwing it away. Burrito was also made super sloppy. Other then that shrimp empanadas and fish tacos were good. Also they almost never have octopus tacos.
