Best restaurant on Mesa with terrific friendly service and fresh ingredients. Large menu with offerings for all tastes. If you love Japan you’ll love Ichiban. A true locals restaurant around for decades. A gem of the Mesa. Great for lunch, dinner ifs often very busy. Enjoy!

This was a great delivery order! The rolls are great! Spicy tuna, Philadelphia and California . They were pakaged perfectly. The Miso soup is fantastic! The Chicken Katsu was very good and very fresh. I'm eager to try their Udon !

Great local sushi restaurant serving up classic Japanese fare in casual environs. Went for lunch and ordered the special of the day. In a word... DELICIOUS. Fresh sushi roll, light and crispy tempura shrimp, bright and flavorful ginger sesame dressing on the salad, excellent miso soup.

Great food, great service. When we arrived the restaurant was full. Two tables left. Our waiter arrived immediately and took our drinks. We all enjoyed and loved our orders. Have nothing negative to say.

Got a coupon from groupon so wasnt sure what to expect. Reviews are all over the place. I was pleasently suprised. Its a small place we had resevations but sat at the sushi bar with our kids, 5 and 11 chef was very friendly and awesome with our kids. Food was really good everything was fresh and came out fast, wasnt very busy. Service was good and friendly, waters stayed filled and dishes taken away quickly. Was a little pricey but if you want good sushi you have to pay a little more. I live about a hour away and i will be back.

Yet another perfect dinner. Our 3rd time at this delightful little "bigger on the inside"joint right in the heart of the Mesa! After confirming with the management that safe, gluten free options were available, ( Remember to do this every time you go to any restaurant even if they've accommodated you before!) I had the Chirachi Sashimi Special with gluten free miso soup. My partner had Chicken Donburi and declared it excellent. We shared a wonderful roll that I'm embarrassed to report I can't recall the name of but it was tangy, slightly spicy and tasty!

Delicious fresh sushi. Good salmon skin salad. The service is wonderful server was so nice. They automatically gave us "Kids" chopsticks for the young person that was eating with us. A wonderful touch. I will be back!!

We've frequented this spot for years. Has been very consistent and conveniently located to us. Some of my favorites are: Mesa Roll, Box Sushi, 007. SB is full of great sushi, but give this place a try if you find yourself nearby.

Really enjoyed this sushi spot — everything was fresh and beautifully prepared. The rolls were flavorful and well-balanced, and the sushi tasted top quality. My favorite was the oyster and sea urchin combination shots — rich, briny, and super fresh! Great service and nice atmosphere too. Definitely a place I’d come back to for good sushi and creative dishes.

The food is fine and the service is attentive at Ichiban. This is your basic strip mall sushi joint. The chicken teriyaki was better than the beef, but they were both good. The California roll was basic but it worked. The place was not busy, but our server was attentive and helpful. The decor is basic sushi restaurant. Nothing was bad, and nothing was memorable. We would return to Ichiban and give it another try.

The staff was friendly and the restaurant was clean. However, the quality of the food was not so good. Tempura was not crispy at all and cold when it came out.. If you are looking for a place for a good quality sashimi or sushi, I wouldn't go here for that. No intention to revisit this place.

Ordered the salmon donburi and was really disappointed—nearly half the bowl was just raw tomato slices with some broccoli and sprouts. It felt more like a salad than a donburi. Not worth the price.

Last time we were here the food was fantastic. It's been awhile and unfortunately it's gone way down hill! ... We ordered 3 rolls and the fish in each was old at best and gone bad at worst. Very fishy and slimy. We couldn't eat it.
