Asporto valido
I went to the Farinateria Scotto café for breakfast. I thoroughly enjoyed the service, the location, and the experience with Massimo Scotto. I'll be back for dinner during the warmer months, when we can eat outside.
A family-run, top-notch Savona restaurant offering special dishes at an excellent price, where kindness and professionalism reign supreme. Located on the Valloria hill overlooking the port of Savona. We went for dinner on Christmas Eve 2025. There were six of us, we ordered six first courses and six seafood second courses, two excellent bottles of white wine, and paid €40 each—truly amazing. Highly recommended if you're passing through Savona.
Excellent 👍
Nice staff, have known the owners for a long time Nice choice of 🍷 and 🍻 🍕, pinsa, farinata and restaurant menu

Ho notato parecchie recensioni negative, e questo mi dispiace perché io e tutti i miei amici ci siamo trovati benissimo. Antipasto asparagi impanati e panissa, poi acciughe impanate. Abbiamo preso tu…
The place is nice; we dined in the garden. The service was courteous. It's unclear why you have to order the farinata in twos or multiples of two, but it was good. We also had fried anchovies. They were definitely good, but the portion was about 10 anchovies and cost 16 euros. Definitely too much.
The food was sooo good. We had the fish-filled ravioli with octopus sauce and the corn-breaded seared tuna, which were the specials of the day and were off the menu. We made a mistake in not asking the price, and seeing how they were presented, we expected the price to be on the high side. In fact, we paid €93 for two ravioli and two tuna, a bottle of water, a half-liter of bottled wine, and two coffees. For the place, it seems a bit excessive, but it was still good.
For lunch, for us outsiders (from Imperia), there was only a first course and a second course of seared tuna, stew, or game. At the other tables, it's hard to imagine there was more to choose from, so much so that someone was served a plate of raw ham with buffalo mozzarella. I don't like to review colleagues, but this review is terrible. P.S. octopus ragù is a must.
The welcome is typical Ligurian... snotty and it seems like you're bothering them. The place is nothing special, but then again, it's an osteria. The quality of the food is good, the plating basic, the portions small, the prices totally out of line. For spending more than €100 for lunch for two, I expect a decidedly different service, location, and overall quality.
Embarrassing is an understatement. We made a reservation and were told to arrive at 7:30 for the farinata because there would be a long wait afterward. Well, we arrived at 7:30 and ordered before 8, while the place was still half empty. From 8:30, it started to fill up, and we saw that other customers were being served while we weren't. The three farinatas arrived after an hour. Now, add to that the fact that the waiters kept bringing us things we hadn't ordered, and anyone passing between the tables would skip them given the limited space (perhaps to fit as many people as possible). Then came dessert time... there too, a wait of over 30 minutes to receive three out of five incorrect desserts. We were asked if they were the ones in the photo, we were told yes, and then something else arrived. Meanwhile, at the next table, a boy had to wait two hours for a pizza while the entire table had already finished eating. Terrible service, rude waiters who have no idea what's on the menu (I noticed a couple arguing with a waiter because he brought them a tray of farinata without plates or cutlery, and then disappeared), incredibly long waits without warning, and the farinata isn't even that good. I think the only reason it keeps going is that it's very well known in the area, but I assure you, as a Savona resident, it's not worth it. Go eat somewhere else.
We order farinate and was good and an appetizer one fried artichoke and panisa for 15 euros which is more expensive than the gold. I said 1 artichoke. I wonder where they went and buy it . Maybe the jewelry store. Never again . Don’t order artichoke please
....the concept of Farinata,, Very wrong, I didn't like it at all. Come and eat it at our place in Turin and the surrounding area. The appetizers were saved. Spending €200 for 4 to have eaten a bit of stuffed flour seems excessive to me.
We went to Scotto restaurant to try the farinata round, expecting—as shown in the attached photo—to be able to choose the fillings/toppings for our dishes. Instead, we were told that the "first round" (without further specification of how many dishes there were) would be at the kitchen's discretion, and that, if we were still hungry, they would bring us more farinata of our choice. We gladly accepted, but were a bit surprised by the contradiction with what was stated at the entrance. After about an hour of waiting, despite only a few people still sitting at the table, we were served two portions of chickpea and wheat farinata with rosemary on top, an extremely generous portion of chickpea farinata with sausage, and an equally generous portion of wheat farinata with cooked ham. I should emphasize that the portions were excessively large for the number of diners, almost as if they wanted to fill us up with plain farinata to avoid "our choice." I'm expressing my personal opinion by saying that from a "farinata tour," I expect to try/sample various types of dishes, not just the two classic ones and two other rather simple ones, considering that there are over 20 possible fillings available. I'll conclude by saying that, finally, we ordered a dish "of our choice," which also arrived wrong. I won't even comment on the quality of what we ate. When they make fun of you in a restaurant—because that's what they do at Scotto's—they don't even deserve my going into further details.
Bad experience with poor Farinata and worse Paella
