Avis sur Los Chamos Venezuelan Restaurant Schenectady
I will say this is one of the authentic Venezuela restaurant I feel the food is quite good but the people who work here they need to learn a little more friendliness talk with customers very nicely and it is located on the State St., Schenectady, which is very convenient to to people and also close to bus stops. It is on the bus line 905 and 355 and also bus stop is very close to this restaurant. They attract a lot of people especially in Spanish people, but I will say everybody can try this one. This is very nice. Good not so bad.
Love this place! The waitress/ owner was super nice. The restaurant was very clean. The food was amazing, very tasty and fresh. Visit, and you will have a great experience at this venezulan cuisine restaurant.
Excellent food. Authentic Venezuelan taste. Staff is kind and charming. Would go as many times as I possibly can. Beef pastelitos were my personal favorite, would recommend it to everyone!
This place has such great food! Definitely a hidden gem. I am obsessed with their moñongo, it is unreal how good they are! Everything else I've gotten from them has also been exceptionally good, but I legitimately think about their moñongos at least once a day.
Food is so good. I got the beef stew with rice and beans and it was delicious. Staff is nice as well.

Absolutely incredible. We ordered moñongos because we were eating on the road, almost turned around 20 minutes later and headed back to get more. The dude promised the salsa packed a punch, and that salsa DELIVERED. I could put the guasacasa on literally anything. Wish I could leave ten stars. Update: I live over an hour away, and I think about excuses to come get a moñongo every day. It's like the best new thing I've found out about in a long, long time. Literally years.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 The garlic/cilantro sauce is unbelievable. I haven't had anything I didn't like here. Some fried items (outside of the empanadas and cachapas, which are well seasoned and delicious) can taste bland or lacking salt if you eat them dry. But don't eat them dry, because the sauce is amazing. I cannot overstate this.
The food is so delicious. There are a small number of good Hispanic restaurants in the Capital Region and this one is definitely one of them. I love the Arepas!
I have ordered takeout from this spot several times now and have tried a variety of their dishes. The torta is amazing — the bread is incredibly fresh and fluffy. I’ve tried their arepas, quesabirria tacos, patacones, chicken and rice plates, and maduros — all have been amazing with great flavor.
Ordered through door dash today. This restraunt always peeked my interest. I finally decided to try it today and wow it was wonderful. I tried the chicken empanadas and birria tacos. Both were fantastic. I will definitely order again.

We have only had their amazing food delivered. Flavors are amazing! Presentation is amazing! Better than other well known chains serving comperable dishes.

Quesabirria tacos were amazing! It comes with an orange hot sauce…thats more amazing, wish they put more in my order. Might have to go in person to get all the hot sauce i want. Great flavor. Delivery was very fast. Sweet plantains and hibiscus drink topped it off!
Great authentic food! Super friendly staff. Family feel. Every dish was tasty!
The Patacon is delicious! (sandwich made fried plantain) so much so that after dining in I came back the next day for take out. What I didn’t like was they machine prompting me to tip for take out that resturant charge me a credit card processing fee on a order over $60 come on man not even chinese take out places do that! But other than that the Patacon is soo good
The tilapia was delicious. The rice was not so great. The service is okay. The atmosphere is nice. Good spot for a quick lunch.
Had the Birria tacos with the broth sauce on the side. It was delicious! Loved it. Kinda wished it had little more onions inside.

Los Chamos ("the kids/the guys") is one of the family-run restaurants in this diverse section of State Street in Schenectady. Venezuelan food - I had Chile Colorado served with rice and beans and had a taste of the empanadas con pollo, too. Hearty, stick to your ribs Venezuelan soul food. Generous portions.
Great eats, great empanadas lovely staff. 8/10 would recommend.
We walked in for the first time today and a lady grabs a note pad ready to take our order. I let her know it was our first time and got nothing. Tried saying it in Spanish and still nothing. I asked if we should sit and order or stand. My point is that the customer service part just wasn't there. We ended up ordering our food and I was really looking forward to the taste of it all but was sadly disappointed after my food arrived. I ordered 2 tacos. One chicken and one shrimp. Ended up with fried pork and chicken. Decided to keep them and combine both tacos into one in order to feel as though I had a full taco. There was so much cilantro and red onions in each one that I am still tasting onion after taking half of it off. The fried pork and chicken were very overcooked. I have had Venezuelan food in so many different places and had hope that my hometown could finally have brought some awesome flavors but it was an epic fail. Maybe they were just having an off day but I am not going to go back and spend another $50.

Food is not too bad burritos are pretty good, iv order Birria tacos 4 times and only once were they fresh and well seasoned . Today they had very little flavor again the meat looks old no seasoning and they are always soggy like if they were old . The Birria sauce is ok not well seasoned either . I ordered a beef empanadas and it was not terrible but again not enough season flavor . Juices are good . Yuca frita are good. I tried to order and give it a few more chances but I spent $100+ today and will be the last time I order . It is decent Birria tacos in the area but Troy has the best ones hands down full of flavor juicy and will have you wanting more .
Came in because they advertise Guatemalan food. Plantains were not cooked well and given sour cream instead of creama. Arepa was bland and cheese was too cold. Not authentic Guatemalan food. Not worth $20

There’s about a tablespoon of meat on each of my three tacos that I paid $16 for other than that delicious but very small amount of meat.

There was plastic like a plastic bag or something in my friends pastelito :/
Food is great … do NOT have food delivered … pick it up!! Restaurant uses Door Dash even if you order on the website and Door Dash charges ridiculous fees and sometimes cancels your order and the driver steels your food. Facts!
