Came here to visit our friends and they took us to this lovely café. Absolutely delicious food and the service was wonderful. The owners and workers here are so kind, and so caring! It's so refreshing to come up here and be treated so well. Absolutely recommend this place!!

My husband ordered a Moose burger and I had a grilled chicken sandwich and salad. We enjoyed a very well prepared, tasty, and healthy meals. The restroom is extremely clean so that gives additional point to the restaurant!

Great stop along the PCT! The place caters to hikers. The owners and staff were really helpful and friendly towards us hikers. The food was excellent! Had breakfast and lunch here! They do have beers on draft :). Also stayed a night here as well. Price for the room was good. The room was large, had a micro fridge, wi-fi(can only get if you stay the night), queen bed and full bathroom. It can have up to 4 hikers for a night. Furthermore there is a hiker box out front with all the hiker knickknacks. Great place! Cheers!

This restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch closes around 3:00 p.m.. They have a full bar. I ate breakfast there twice on my recent visit. The first was the pancake egg and bacon combination. My second was the scrambled egg bacon sandwich. Their coffee was good also. Luckily owned and run for many years by the same family. The building is 170 years old! Their patio it's quite nice. Also several tables and bar seating inside. Enjoy your visit.

We stayed here for two nights, the room was very cozy and rustic, and the service was friendly and attentive. The room had a lovely view of the creek that runs through town and was conveniently located near several swimming holes and the Buckhorn. Highly recommended!

Our family lives in Downieville, and we travel up to the Red Moose at least once a week for the amazing breakfast or for lunch with the fish and chips. Such a great spot!

Had lunch on the patio. Staff was very friendly and attentive. My salad had fresh mixed greens and was delicious. At the end of our meal, we were treated to fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Thanks for your part in making our 54th wedding anniversary a great day!!

Went for a motorcycle ride on 49 and stopped here for lunch. Great choice! Great food, great service and very reasonable prices. Went mid week, so was able to get seated right away. They were out of fish and chips, which seems to be a favorite. So I ordered their burger. Just a standard burger, but it was big, 1/2 lb, and delicious. I got it with the sweet potato fries, which were pretty awesome too. Very thin cut, so they were nice and crispy. Forgot to get a side of ranch with them, but they were still good. The guy serving me was very friendly and attentive, he may have been the owner, but not 100% sure. Will definitely come back.
