Esko’s Café offers a delectable cinnamon roll that stands out for its unique and delightful flavors. Their signature Dessert Roll comes in a variety of innovative combinations, including ube and coconut, matcha and white chocolate, and chai spice with cream cheese. Each roll is freshly baked to order, ensuring a warm and satisfying treat. The fusion of traditional cinnamon with local ingredients creates a delightful twist on a classic favorite. Whether you're a local or just passing through, indulging in one of Esko’s cinnamon rolls is a must for dessert enthusiasts.
Great shop to visit. Great sweets and drinks and unique items in the shop to take home!
Esko's was awesome from start to sweet finish. We came back to Solvang just to come to this bakery because we did not have time the first time. We specifically came to buy the Stroopwafels and cinnamon rolls we saw in the window, but we ended up purchasing those plus additional items such as Turkish Coffee and Turkish Delight, a Savory Ground Beef Roll, a Danish Waffle, and coffee ice cream. The Turkish Coffee and Turkish Delight were hands down the best I have had in the United States. I particularly enjoyed the Turkish Delights because they were not super sweet like I have found in other places...they were the exact perfect amount of sweetness. The ice cream was great and so was the waffle. I also really enjoyed the savory beef roll which was great because I had asked the employee which beef pastry he recommended and he said that one was his favorite. He didn't steer me wrong! It was delicious! The employees and the owner were all very kind and made great recommendations. I haven't tried the cinnamon roll yet, but I'm sure it will be amazing too. I will definitely be back next time I come out this way. Thank you for such a wonderful experience, Esko!!
The coffee here is exceptional! Their menu also offers a delightful variety of pastries, sandwiches, and desserts. If you’re looking for a café that combines quality coffee, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere, Esko's Cafe should definitely be on your list! :)
Got their Ginger Grogg, it tastes so homey and soothing. They have so many wonderful options, I got the aebleskiver that came with a jelly, quite tasty.
it is a great little place with coffee pastries and the like. really good people work there and it's obvious that they enjoy it.
Asian lady name Jess was professional and polite and carried herself as if she was the manager. Made our experience awesome and very enjoyable.
This was such a cute cafe in solvang. I cannot comment much about food but the environment was so good. It has a cute outdoor seating which is very picturesque. I am very sure the food is very tasty too. It was beautiful. My Instagram id is - nusky21 if you all want to see more photos
Sweet Late-Night Find (Takeout Only) Esko’s Café was one of the only places open late in Solvang and it was busy for a reason! There’s no seating area, so it’s strictly grab-and-go, but totally worth the stop if you’re craving something sweet. We tried the almond croissant, Nutella tart, and Æbleskiver (the Danish dessert), and everything was fresh, tasty, and satisfying. Perfect spot for a quick late-night pastry fix when everything else is closed!
I was at the shop next to it and literally was pulled in by the smell! The pastries tasted so good (strawberry cheese I think is the name of what I had) that I brought my husband back later for more! Those were also delicious - turkey and cheese croissant and some kind of square with cheese.
A delightful café experience. I had the pleasure of trying their macaroon ice cream and strawberry cheese Danish, and both were absolutely amazing. The macaroon ice cream was the perfect blend of creamy and crunchy, with a subtle sweetness that wasn’t overwhelming. The strawberry cheese Danish, on the other hand, was a heavenly combination of flaky, buttery pastry with a rich, tangy filling that had just the right amount of sweetness.
This is our favorite pastry spot in Solvang, and whenever we’re in town, we always make a stop here. We usually get Turkish coffee, baklava, and Danish pastries, everything is consistently delicious. This time, we also had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Esko. He’s incredibly generous, friendly, and welcoming, which made the experience even more special. Highly recommend this place if you’re visiting Solvang!
Wonderful experience with this little bakery in the tourist area of Solvang. The cheese danish that I shared with my husband was excellent. The staff member heated it up for us. There is an excellent variety of coffees and other hot and cold drinks. There are small tables on the patio outside, but no indoor seating. We enjoyed one of these tables in the shade. Staff were very friendly & helpful. No complaints at all.
This place had the best pastries we’ve had in Solvang (better than Olsen’s). The staff was super friendly, anticipating our needs, and the choice of pastries were unique. We had the Solvang Croissant Tart and the Almond Danish, and greatly enjoyed both! They weren’t too sweet, just perfect!

A very cute and cozy cafe with delicious coffee and pastries. There are tables next to the cafe where you can enjoy your food and take some beautiful photos.
We came late to Solvang and most places were closed. This bakery stayed open and there were two guys working there - Muhammed and Ajhon who were great and offered very good service. It was nice talking to them and get our pastries for late dinner.

The cafe offers a variety of sweet treats, price is good for the quality. Great service !
A Decent bakery with variety of pastries and drinks. A bit pricey for the setup - still a good place to grab a snack or drink
Extra star for being a bakery that is open later than most in the area. We visited the day after Christmas Day. It was very busy with the line out the door. When we finally got inside, the line was wrapped around again. We had 2 savory pastries( ground beef, spinach and cheese) and 2 danishes. After waiting 40 mins in line it was a bit disappointing to see one of the workers let several people behind us order ahead, no explanation. Not good customer service. But the food was good and fresh. We ended up paying almost $50 for 4 pastries and 2 hot cocoas. With the long line, line cutting and the high price i would give 3.5 stars if i could. Outdoor seating is available.
It is kinda a small bakery, there are outdoor seatings but line is quite long. I got a lemon pistachio berry pie (forget full name), it has some mojito alcohol taste, which gives it a hint of butter. I really like it, not too sweet~ kinda pricy but good! also got two buckets of cookies (~ $20 each) to bring back for friends to share.
Small town family owned cafe. If you happend to stop by at solvang. Stop by at Esco's on main street. Try any of their pastries. I like the danish chocolate. Its got a cozy place to sit and enjoy the street view of solvang.
Got a Almond Danish & double almond florante which I throughly enjoyed. Didn’t really like the Turkish delights I got. They’re pricey but have really good pastries. Recommend carrying cash as they charge 3% for credit cards.
I enjoy some butter pecan ice cream on a chilly night. Don’t remember the coldness because I was concentrating on the Deliciousness of the ice cream. There are so many pastries I want to try, definitely coming back

Overpriced, espresso machine was not working initially so owner kindly offered regular coffee, then got machine to work and gave us a free latte for free. Great service! The cup lids don’t close, though.
I've seen other reviews that the pastries are good but a bit on the pricey side, and I'd have to agree. The strawberry danish was good, just a bit steep at I believe $8 and change. And I hate to be snobby, but I feel that a lot of the bakeries in Solvang don't actually have a lot of actual Danish pastries besides standard danishes (e.g. I didn't see any kringles or proper wienerbrød danishes here).
Waited at Esko's for a good hour to get some coffee and a couple of Danish. We also got the Swedish Clogg, Solvang Hot Ginger Clogg and Grandpa's Steamed Hot Chocolate. Every drink was too sweet even overpowering cinnamon. The Danish Cream Cheese was okay. We picked up a jar of cookies. Don't know how it is going to turn out.
Cute, small café that is takeout only but has a lovely small seating area outside. We just got ice cream - a cup and an ice cream sandwich - but it was pretty decent. Service was fine. Prices are about what I'd expect for a tourist area. There's a very large selection here that includes some less common items like turkish delight.
Order a apple strudel for 7$ and the pastry was “flat”. The bread wasn’t flaky and the apple pudding inside the bread wasn’t that strong of a flavor. For a piece of pastry asking for 7$ it didn’t meet my expectations. Majority of the pastry inside was priced quite highly if you were to go somewhere else for a piece of bread. They do offer other items that too are priced quite highly like their cold brews drinks for 6$ in a 20 Oz cup. Everything inside the store looks extremely delicious however looks can be dangerous.
Small and cute Bakery and cafe in Solvang, takeout only no dine-in. The pastries and coffee is ok but i find it a bit expensive and serving is quite small too. The small cup is not filled just half-filled. Coffee is pricier than starbucks too. Breads, cookies and Pastries cost $6.50 to $9.99

Smells delicious so we decided to stop by in the morning for a coffee and pastry. Turkey croissant was ok. It was served cold. Coffee was mediocre. Cheese danish was ok. The young men working were blah.
Unfortunately our experience was not the best today, 02/02/2025. There was some miscommunication when we got our order and when we went back, Jessie was very rude to us. She basically told us just to deal with the order we got without even giving us any solutions. I understand that we can all have a bad day, but as a customer I truly believe that we should get what we pay for. We won’t be coming back and I’m only giving it two stars because one of the employees “Jackie” was nice to help us with substituting one of our drinks. Customer service is important and unfortunately we didn’t receive that from Jessie.
My Family is here visiting Solvang for my wife’s birthday to celebrate and enjoy the holiday vibes. We had a taste for some pastries and stopped in Esko’s. I ordered the Cinnamon Bowl, my wife had the Cherry Danish and my daughter ordered the cinnamon twist. I decided to add an iced caramel latte to my order. The server packed up our pastries and the went to make my coffee so we stepped outside to wait for the coffee. He called me for the coffee and it was a black coffee on ice and I asked is this your iced Carmel latte. He said oh I didn’t know you asked for a latte. Two minutes later he hands me what looks like a cup of milk. I asked “this is your iced Carmel latte?” He said yes this has coffee in it, to which I asked for extra espresso, he asked single or double? I’m thinking he was going to fix the issue, he then goes and rings me up for an additional $6 for the espresso. I ended up paying $15 for what ended up tasting like a vanilla Ice cream. Even after I added the espresso I never tasted any coffee. Won’t be ordering any coffee from there again. The pastries were decent though.
The nice thing about this place is that it was open when most places had already closed up for the day. The atmosphere was nice with their music and the guys were funny. Their peach soda okay but it was very refreshing. On to the pastries...the velvet cookie was dry and crumbly. It was not good at all!!! It was in honesty, pretty disgusting, so much so that I threw it away. I paid almost $8.00 for it!!! The carrot cake was a little better but the texture was similar to bread pudding...I would not recommend this place for their pastries at all.
Overpriced plus tax. Cakes ordinary, beware if you are going late at night the cakes have been sitting in the window all day. Coffees and other hot drinks $7.50! Anyway whatever.. better options around. Head to Albertsons in Buellton for a slice of cheesecake for $4 not $11.
After waiting in line for more than 20 minutes, we were disappointed with the quality of paestry we got - we had ordered almond croissant with custard and it was mediocre at its best! Also the Asian lady at the counter today evening was grumpy and cold toned. Would not return !

Very rude service. They just stare at you and don’t welcome you or say, “May I help you?” Walked out and didn’t give them my business, because they clearly didn’t appreciate it.
Stopped by to check out their menu and the adjacent gift shop. There were no other patrons. To honor their store signs not allowing outside food within, we placed it on a patio table. Within 1 minute, the staff threw out our $10 meal. When I confronted the employee, he laughed and said it was in the trash.
Food are super cold and below average taste. Had a tuxedo cake and savory sausage.
Bread was mediocre. Lacked flavor, was not fresh, overpriced for portion sizes. Latte was more powder than liquid. The staff were rude. I saw a woman ask for ice cream cone and was served a cup ice cream and when asked for it to be corrected the man rolled his eyes and said can I just put the cone on top. Continued to direct his staff and customers in rude way. Made the experience more distasteful. Drinks cost was double than Starbucks with less quality and quantity. I wouldn’t come back again. Also the restaurant was unclean and disorganized. For the amount of customers you’d expect it to be cleaner and warmer food like a heat lamp but instead heat their bread in the microwave.
We ordered the Solvang Oreo cheesecake and the slice we received was about half the size of the slice shown in the display window. Very misleading portion size was advertised in the window. $10 for a very mid, flavorless piece of cheesecake. Will not be returning and will not recommend to anyone.
This place is a total rip off! Tried several of their pastries, none of them decent, some were really old. They sell thrifty ice cream and charge exorbitant prices for every scoop. The coffee and hot chocolate were subpar too. There are lots of good authentic bakeries in solvang, this ain't one of them. Take your business elsewhere.
This is probably the only Solvang store spot that's gonna get a bad review from me. I feel bad cause there is a sweet Asian lady there who is always smiling and all over the place. The few times I have gone and there is a man working there and he is rude and always on his phone. He wore headphones and would sit on his phone while I sat there waiting. He waited for the lady to do everything and was just rude to me and his coworker. Hopefully the owner sees this and can correct that gentleman
Hit or miss! Some reviews about the cashier were nice and some weren’t so I went there to try for myself. The cashier lady which I believe was asian was very rude to me and my friends! It’s like she doesnt even want to work there.
Looking for a good bakery because you are in Solvang, right? This is NOT where you want to go. Pastries are not good but exorbitantly priced. They are just reselling supermarket and Costco food. Most packaged items are from Costco with Eskos label stuck on them. Others are simply "Packaged by Eskos" if you read the fine print. The ice cream is from Thrifty! Buy a full tub at a grocery store instead of the 8 dollar single scoop here. The queue is deceptively small, don't be fooled. There's a double queue inside on busy days. Most tourists want to enjoy a bakery item in Solvang and this one is the only one that's open late. Be warned.
Worst customer service! The asian cashier lady dropped my receipt on the counter as I was reaching for it. We ordered two white mocha and one hot chocolate, tell me why the two white mocha had lids and the hot chocolate didn’t?????? The asian lady told us to get a lid behind us. Mid drink as well no flavor, mcdonalds had better drinks. Next time im gonna wear meta glasses to catch these foolery its getting out of hand fr.
