What a great time and a great meal. Our waiter, Enzo, who is also the manager was great as were the servers. Our drinks were crazy delicious and since one was lit on fire, fun too. The watermelon salad was fresh and delicious, and the Carpaccio was wonderful. Next time, I will order mine with the aioli on the side, as I like my beef simple, especially when it is as good as this beef was. Just a touch of the aioli is what I use. We would also recommend the stuffed zucchini flowers and the chicken wings and the lava cake. That cake was fabulous! I should have taken more pictures. Cool atmosphere, fun vibe. 😎

We’ve been at Bar Rosso maybe 20 times (specially for brunch) and everything’s perfect every single time. Best brunch in Stamford! I never leave reviews, only leaving this one cuz I saw they have 4.2 ⭐️ and that’s honestly ridiculous. It should be 6 ⭐️

Did brunch here this last weekend and it was great. Food was delicious & the bottomless brunch allowed us to alternate between mimosas, all beers, sangria & bellinis. We will definitely be back for brunch!

I went to brunch not expecting much, as it is a known happy hour spot that attracts younger crowds and usually pretty busy. Well, I finally went today and I’m mad for not going to this place sooner!!! Brunch food was fantastic, steak and eggs on the brunch menu is actually the most succulent steak I’ve ever had and can’t beat that price. The wait staff, manager, even the cooks are so friendly. Eggnog espresso martini says seasonal but practically available all year round. One of the best martinis I’ve had! I’ll be back ALOT. If you see a 6 ft black female solo at the bar, that’s just me living my best life.

I had pistachio & caramelized onions Pizza the flavor was amazing, my cocktail was delicious. Sister had pizza with vegetables she said was delicious. Calamari was cooked well. The waiter was friendly & service was good

I went for brunch with my siblings and I’ll say 5 stars for everything. Except maybe the metal tables outside in the sun haha but the brunch menu is stacked with options. I might not recommend the coffee but everyone loved their flavored margaritas! The avocado toast is huge, The frittata is very flavorful, The breakfast pizza was fire, and the French toast is a must have for the table to share

I’ll be the first to admit that Italian is usually not my go to, but it’s the safest for dinner with friends. Walking into Bar Rosso I didn’t know what to expect, but the place was packed from end to end. We started with burrata, Italian wings and the tuna tar tar. All were perfect. The wings were perfectly crispy and covered in Parmesan. The burrata was fresh and creamy. Finally the tuna tasted fresh and was gone in seconds. For my order I got the pappardelle with the short rib and it was delicious. The noodles were perfectly cooked and coated with a meaty sauce. Absolutely loved our time here and will gladly come back. Really cute for a date night!

Update Dec 2021 - We stopped in for happy hour on a Wednesday night. First impression: turn the heat up a couple hours before opening as the metal bar was about 60 degrees. The whole place seemed too cold to have a good time. We left after our first round of drinks… Original Review: First visit came in for lunch. This is a really nice place and it’s clear this place is very popular with the local crowd. Ordered Seared Scallops and Grilled Octopus and they both were very well prepared and presented! The Scallops were seared just right gut and were enhanced by a delicious risotto. They micro greens were elegant and a nice touch! Grilled Octopus was cooked perfectly and the escarole with cannelloni beans had some pep provided by some red pepper flakes, perhaps a tad heavy on the red pepper, but delicious nonetheless. It’s clear we’ll have to check out their brunch at some point. Bar Rossi is another great option in downtown Stamford!

The food and service was great. The only issue with the atmosphere was that I was unable to have a conversation with the people I was with. I could not hear them.

Excellent food, great service and even a great playlist of music on in the background! Enjoyed the short rib tacos and chicken wings for apps, bucatini scampi and lobster ravioli for entrees, and the zeppole for dessert. We really appreciated that our server wasn’t rushing us between courses, she gave us time to enjoy our drinks and our meal. Cocktails were all really well made too! Not to mention the bussers were very attentive as well. Highly recommend this restaurant!

We recently had a family gathering at Bar Rosso and it truly exceeded our expectations. The food was incredible, very fresh and delicious. The drinks were delectable and the service was top notch. This is a hidden gem in Stamford, I highly recommend it!!

Had a fun Friday night hanging out at Bar Rosso. Food was excellent. Started with cocktails and their version of a meat and cheese board. Finished with a couple dishes including the grilled lamb chops with fresh mint, simply outstanding. Have to give a shout out to all the staff including Caesar, Juan and Eduardo. Great service. Hit Juan up for the BlackBerry Sunset Whiskey Sour. You won’t be disappointed.

Hands down, one of the best caesar salads i’ve ever had. Great espresso martinis. Giant pretzel is also delicious. Highly recommend going here!

Stopped in for some late afternoon cocktails and a quick bite to eat. The menu was a very tempting and went with the barata pizza, the short rib pizza, and the stuffed zucchini appetizer. Pizza was excellent stuffed zucchini appetizer was out of this world, phenomenal to say the least. Atmosphere is great sat outside on a beautiful evening. Great job great staff great place

Excellent food and service! Scallops on risotto was so good and the lobster ravioli was also amazing. We also ordered 2 pizzas and they were really good as well. The only menu that we ordered that wasn't perfect was the burger - the patty was very salty (you could definitely taste grains of salt every bite...) But other than the burger, everything was amazing! We saw a lot of people getting muscles; we will definitely try them next time. Looking forward to going back!

We went there for a late dinner, we sat at the bar and we’re immediately welcomed by Cesar the bartender he brought menus over and water right away. The restaurant gives modern Italian vibes, they have a great cocktail and food menu. We ordered the Stamford’s old fashion and they Rosa Linda, both contained a generous amount of liquor and tasted great, A+ for that. We ordered just a few dishes but they all tasted great and again the portions were just right, we ordered the polpo alla griglia which came with fingerling potatoes and a creamy aioli, we also got the crispy Brussel sprouts and the pappardelle al funghi, this pasta was exquisite, definitely my favorite dish. I definitely will go back to try more dishes, if you like Italian food with a modern twist, please give it a try.

Great first time experience. Remi, the bartender, wasn't just accommodating, she was exceptional. The fig appetizer was also to die for! I'll definitely be back

Solid spot - I try to head to this place a few times a year - great place. Prices are a little steep... slightly...

Great food, even better drinks. We sat outside. There was live music playing inside, that we could hear because of the large open entryway but there was also music playing on the speakers outside - wish the restaurant chose to play one or the other. Food was great, the orecchiette was very spicy but yummy. We started with the calamari which was fantastic. I got the champagne poetry drink - amazing! And my friend had the blackberry whiskey sour. The foam tasted like candy and he was a huge fan of the drink. Service was slow and inattentive. Our waiter didn’t seem to know a lot about the menu. Otherwise, a good meal and will definitely go back.

The Avocado salad (not on the brunch menu) was spectacular! The best thing I’ve ever had. The brunch burger was pretty basic and bland. The fries were something to pass on. The mimosas were good, although I felt like they could refill a little more frequently. I imagine that the normal lunch or dinner menu might be great since the salad was so good.

Great Happy Hour menu. Had Fried Mozzarella, Margarita Pizza, and Veal Meatballs. Everything was delicious especially when paired with their happy hour Margaritas! Chicken Parmesan was good, but I've had better. My friends thoroughly enjoyed themselves as well. Skirt steak in my opinion could have been a little more interesting. Overall great experience.

The food was amazing. We came here for an end of the year party. I've been here before and remember thinking the portions for the price were not great. Tonight however the dinner portions were amazing. We had the Banzino, which is fish with this amazing lemon sauce, mashed potatoes and spinach. Everything we had was tasty. Granted I didn't pay but if the price is right I will host something here. Oh and the service was amazing this time and the last time. Thanks guys for such a lovely night.

Solid spot in the heart of downtown Stamford. I’ve eaten here many times and the food is always good (not great). Most recently, I stopped in for a glass of wine which was decently priced and served by a very pleasant bartender. The music and vibe was solid. It was not overly loud nor was it extremely crowded.

Very good. Try their Margarita pizza, amazing! I've gone for the literary pub crawl there and the CT bar crawl. They have great specials and a great upstairs too. Definitely going for date night with my hubby.

Food: The food was really just ok. Nothing really amazed me and some of the food was very unseasoned. Their lobster ravioli and shrimp was also very lack luster and only gave one shrimp that was chopped up. If you want to get food I would just get the appetizers and skip the main courses. However, the drinks were great so I would definitely go back to grab a cocktail. Service: Our waitress was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu. Ambiance: It's very standard but they do have a cute patio area and large windows that open up which is nice. Overall: I wouldn't be running back here but if I'm in the area and want to grab a nice cocktail and some appetizers then I would consider them.

Quite frankly we were super excited to try this restaurant. We were meeting halfway with family from L.I. and read a ton of great reviews but our experience was just... far from great. We were celebrating our cousin's birthday and had the whole family together from all around. The appetizers were pretty good, entrees all around were a hit with the exception of some being under/over cooked, missing items and just too salty! So salty you couldn't get the flavor of the surrounding accompaniments. But you know what truly stands out in a restaurant? SERVICE! I am in the restaurant industry and food can be good, could be better or just amazing BUT if service doesn't stand right behind then there's very little to look back at. Our server greeted us ok, but lacked service all around. We were on the second floor with two or three other tables (so not busy which can make things slower sometimes on the servers) and it just took a long time to order drinks, get the drinks (two of them were not of our liking and asked to be modified and instead of taking them back and modifying them he told us he will bring what we asked to compliment the drinks... 20 min later we had not seen him still! The bass girl was so nice she took care of it after seeing we were not being helped.) He wasn't the kind to give suggestions or open to answers but rather just wanted to get the orders in and done! Again, at least another 20 min before we saw him again to ask for another round. And last but not least... we were celebrating a birthday! We asked for a candle yet the dessert came out pretty alone. All in all service was less than great and we got added 20% gratuity which... OK we understand how it works but at least work your magic with your tables and perhaps you can earn a little more but NO. Did the job at less than mediocre and expected a way out of line tip. Will probably be returning to the bar as the service there was great but not to dine with a big group or in general. Hope you all can work this out! Seems to be a good restaurant but service is just as important as food.

Went with family for dads day had some cocktails they were good blood orange margarita had a nice dose of taquilla calamari was average felt it may have been frozen squid but can't swear to it chix parm was average tagliatelle was very tasty although was a very small portion in a bread bowl which was more like a tortilla than a traditional bread bowl. Wifes pizza was good and again average. Service was attentive and considerate and made all requested alterations to the menu that we asked for. So overall good solid meal would recommend a dinner there but not rushing back for more an overall 3 &1/2 stars

Food is very mid for the amount it costs. Pizza is pretty good and has a decent portion size. But the pasta portion size is small and the sauce isn't anything special

My sandwich was quite good, especially considering it was my first time. I’m excited to come back and try more dishes. I'm confident that many of your dishes are outstanding, and I can't wait to explore the menu further!

This used to be one of our favorite place to eat. Not anymore. The staff Is young and inexperience . They kept coming over to clear our plates while we are still eating, rushing us thru our meal. It wasn't busy. They were playing loud rock music. It is now more of a bar scene, not a place for a quiet family meal. The food was good, pizza is still great. If you want to hang out for drinks, this is it. For a quiet meal with friends, this place is not it.

I wanted to like this spot, but no Bloody Mary mix for brunch isn’t a good look, and that watermelon memosa was absolutely disgusting. Cold coffee was given out to us and the cacio e pepe omelette was a tiny sliver of just a regular omelette, there was nothing cacio e peppe about it. Lovely service though?

A
Annie Freer Clements

Was really surprised at how below average this food was given the place always looks super busy! Thought we’d give it a try since there’s always lots of people at the outdoor patio and I’ve heard good things. The food was mediocre and honestly a little cold while not tasting like much of anything. Service was super slow. Even the gelato didn’t taste like anything. Underwhelming to spend $100 and leave hungry.

I’ve been wanting to try Bar Rosso for a while — the menu and ambiance always looked amazing. We specifically chose it for brunch because their website promotes bottomless mimosas, which sounded like a fun experience. However, when we arrived, we were told they were not offering bottomless mimosas, which was disappointing. Unfortunately, the service also didn’t live up to expectations. After being seated, my husband waited about 20 minutes just to get a server to come over so we could order drinks. When we were finally able to place an order, we were told that the person helping us only handled drinks and that someone else would need to come take our food order. We ended up waiting even longer after that, and a table seated after us received their drinks before we did. At that point, we decided to leave. The space and concept seem great, but between the inaccurate promotion and the lack of service, the experience was really disappointing. I hope it was just an off day.

I went for Saturday morning brunch and we were the only table so you think we’d have excellent service right? Wrong! The waiters were busy watching soccer on the tv and we waited 30 minutes until I got fed up and had to call them over to order. Then, the food took another 30 minutes to arrive. Mind you, it was a table of 4 people and we were the only people in the whole restaurant. It was a whole hour from sitting down to getting food which is ridiculous when you have full wait staff and cooks. I got the breakfast pizza and it was sad, just a singular egg and some spinach that honestly tasted expired. My friends at least liked their food. After all this, they overcharged me $25 for the pizza when it should have been $19. I’m not interested in going back after this. The only positive is that the ambience was nice while I chatted with my friends for an hour waiting to eat but the experience ruined it for us. Go at your own risk.

You have to really like rosemary to eat here. The chicken wings are not recommended not seasoned. The tuna tartare is amazing and the pizza was good but garlic is needed. I would return the food isn’t great burgers were a fail taste like oil and water. Chicken sandwich is frozen chicken cooked twice tastes like water.

C
Cat M

I don’t know if they are not doing well but I was charged 3 dollars for blue cheese stuffed olives my martini was 25 dollars. Also 3 dollars for one piece of bread? The bread is not good at all. They should let guest know of up charges that most places do not charge.

A group of 7 of us came in and I ordered a steak and was told "We are out of Steak". To my amazement the waiter was very non apologetic and after we ordered other food we were told that he was doing us a favor by giving us all our separate checks. I was floored. Worst experience ever and to top it off they had a fire in the fireplace out on the patio and it blew through the cracks in the window sill and basically smoked us out. Not a good experience with us and wouldn't recommend.
