We braved it out in the heatwave to vote and rather than cooking, we had a late lunch at Bocelli in Old Town, Staten Island. We started with arancine and fried artichokes & zucchini, along with the Donnafugata Grillo from Sicily (wine is 1/2 price on Monday & Tuesday). For our main course, we both had the pork chop Milanese with salad. For dessert, the berry torta and chocolate cheesecake. Their $45 prix fixe lunch could feed an army! The food was great and we have lots of leftovers. Thank you to Franco for the wonderful service and their charming owner, Stefano.

A Hidden Gem Turned Favorite 5 Stars Two months ago, my husband and I finally decided to try Bocelli Restaurant, a place we’ve passed by countless times. We live just 10 minutes away but always hesitated “It’s in a strip mall,” I’d say. How good could it really be? Well, we were wrong, so glad we gave it a chance. One night with nothing planned, we looked it up and were blown away by the reviews. We decided to go, and from the moment we walked in, we were transported. The atmosphere was beautiful—it felt like a little escape to Italy. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish was perfectly executed. We sat at the bar and were thrilled to see **Lissy**, a bartender we knew from another restaurant. She was as kind and sweet as ever. The hostess, **Alexi**, was a sweetheart. Even though the place was packed, she stayed calm, professional, and accommodating. They also offer valet parking, and the **valet attendant** went above and beyond retrieving our car 10 minutes early so we wouldn’t have to wait. Talk about service! And then there’s **Stefano**, the owner. What a presence, going from table to table, treating guests like friends and family. Our server, **Francesco**, was outstanding. He was attentive, thoughtful, and made sure everything was on point. We loved it so much, we came back again in May. And guess what? It was even better. Same amazing food, even warmer service. Now, we’re coming back again this Tuesday for the third time in under two months, and we’re already planning a family dinner here in July. Thank you, Stefano, and your wonderful team, for creating such a special experience. We’re thrilled to have found our new go-to spot just 10 minutes from home! Cheers! Nathalie & Mike

We were super pleased with Bocelli's! We went today for lunch to celebrate Father's Day. It is a nice, old school Italian restaurant with delicious food (huge portions, though) and a pleasant waitstaff. We especially liked the food selection, and presentation of desserts to choose from, each option of which is brought to the table before ordering.

My girlfriend made a reservation at Bocellis on Saturday night and needless to say the whole experience was disturbing and upsetting. For us to have reservations, you would expect to be seated at a location very intimate and comfortable however for myself and my girlfriend, we got seated in a tight little corner next to a Fire Hose container (Table 21) seating next to a family of 4. Although the family was not loud or disruptive, the location of the table was just uncomfortable. At first I didn’t let that get to me and cause me to not enjoy the food that we ordered but afterwards is where the night turned for the worst. After we had drinks and appetizers, my girlfriend and I was left waiting for our entrees to arrive. If we had ordered something that took a long time to cook I wouldve been ok with that logic but pasta dishes do not take over 30 mins to prepare. We had to ask the waiter how long would the entrees take. I literally saw him take a pan off a rack, head to the cheese wheel himself and start cooking the dish. He left the dish to attend to something else and then what looked to be either the owner or the manager continue to make the dish himself then had a different waiter bring over the plate. This was my girlfriends entree. I still had not received my food to this point and I was so disgusted to how it was handled I didn’t even want the entree anymore and wanted to cancel it. A waiter finally came and handed me my plate and at first I said I didn’t want it and wanted to cancel the entree. My girlfriend instead asked to take it to go. I didn’t want to make a scene or embarrass her so I kept to myself. Next thing I know another waiter comes with another plate with my dish and I’m like didn’t I already say I’d take it to go? So just very unorganized to say the least. I really feel bad for the original waiter cuz he was really nice and professional and it wasn’t his fault any of this happened. Idk if it was a race thing involved but I wouldn’t put it past that. At the end the waiter who originally served us was apologetic and gave us two free desserts on the house. Although I was appreciative of the free dessert, it didn’t change the fact of us being overlooked by the kitchen. Someone messed up back there and I hope this review gets read by the owner and everyone so they know how service really is.

They had someone singing karaoke on a Friday night, bass thumping… Drinks were good. Ordered the mussels and escargot, both were bad. Decided to end the meal then.

We've been here before, so I know the food is delish. However, our last visit? We walked out. No one even noticed. It was really busy. And rather than wait for them to put a table together, we decided to grab a table in the bar area. Host brought us to a table where the staff had been folding napkins and had left their supplies on table. We only had 1 chair, had to wait for that. No one came to greet us, serve us, bring menus. We were right next to the bar so we stood up to order drinks. Took another 10-15 minutes. We walked out. It was so packed they were sticking tables everywhere where you could walk through without going through a maze. They packed them in so tight I don't know how a fire marshal hasn't been by there. It was also extremely loud. I think they should turn away guests when it gets to the maximum point. It gave me the impression of greed and really bad service

First time i see when the waiter bring the check,he write the tip with his handwriting. It’s not about the amount of the tip because I always tip in the right way,but i think it’s disrespectful and maybe against the law too.
