We came for a retirement party. The host was friendly and greeted us as we came in. He showed us to the bar area while we waited for the rest of the party. As soon as everyone arrived we were seated. We were given menus and told the specials. The waitress took our orders as soon as we were ready. Food came out quickly and everything was fantastic. I ordered the haddock dinner, it was perfect with enough to take home for 2 more meals. Everyone in the party had plenty or leftovers to take home. I highly recommend this fantastic restaurant. Can't wait to go back and try other items.
We had a large party last night and the waitress was exceptional! It’s never easy handling large parties but she truly did a great job. The food was very good also. We will definately be back!
Beautiful modern Italian restaurant, had appetizers at the lively bar with friends, tried 6 or 7 apps all outstanding ,service was fun and attentive, lucky to have this hidden gem right outside of downtown
I ordered an iceburg wedge, ribeye, and house cab (Kendall Jackson) at the bar. Everything was perfect. I ordered the steak medium rare plus and it was the best ribeye I've had anywhere in over a year. The iceburg wedge was huge and perfectly garnished. The steak came with asparagus and mashed potatoes which were amazing. This place greatly exceeded my expectations. We capped off the meal with an espresso.
We are a photobooth company and we did a Holiday party there for a business on December 13, 2025. From the time we arrived to the time we left the staff treated us like family, from helping us move our equipment in and out of the building , to making sure we had something to eat. Just WOW! Thank you to all the staff, we can't wait to see you again. Steve and Tammy.
We had a class reunion in the upstairs private dining room the evening of September 13th and it was wonderful. The food was delicious, the staff attentive, and the bartender was fantastic! She was engaging and fun and knew how to make a drink! It was a great night. Wouldn’t hesitate to book a private party there. Everyone who attended had only compliments to give.
My wife and I were on the way home from my daughter’s soccer game at SUNY Brockport and figured we’d land in Syracuse around 6:30. Looked at a few restaurants and found Strada Mia. They had a big menu so we reserved a table. We pulled into the parking lot the same time as Jim, the owner, who couldn’t have been any nicer while talking to us as we entered. He quickly had the staff get us to a table. The staff was great and couldn’t have been more attentive to our needs. The food was great and place was beautiful. Was happy to see Jim as we were leaving to tell him in person! If we go out that way again, definitely will stop! Maybe next time we’ll take our ZR1😉
I haven't been here that long so I am always in search of a great place to have dinner. Yesterday I discovered Strada Mia. This place was unbelievable: the food was top notch, drinks were incredible, and the setting was beautiful beyond measure. Staffing really took care of us and we had a fantastic time. To top it off, they had the UFC fights on! Gotta love this place.
Went Saturday. Everything was great.Oil and bread, manicotti spot on. The prime rib was great. Not fatty at all. Green beans cooked to perfection. But the absolute star was the mashed potatoes. Smooth, silky, with incredible flavor. Great job. Any chance I can get the recipe?????
I had a great dinner here with some friends. Our waitress was really nice and personable. She was also very attentive to our table. Had a bottle of La Crema Pino Noir. Amazing.. Others had some vodka drinks that they really liked. We ordered a manicotti app special that was very good. The dinner's that were ordered included the Chicken Riggies, Rib Eye steak, Gemelli dish with sausage and the Haddock. All the entrees were really good! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and I'm looking forward to coming back soon.
James, what the heck is going on? I ordered fried calamari as I usually do and I got weird calamari steak strips. The chef said you guys switched over from tubes and tentacles to steaks; it was absolutely horrible. Forget about it.
I honestly thought they were going to do well this evening but here's what happened: the service was actually on point and the food was actually fairly decent but the Italian Mac and Cheese was the one thing that struck a nerve on me and here's why: the biggest one is that they didn't have the Fusilli Pasta and instead used the penne pasta. Secondly there were no breadcrumbs but instead used bacon bits on there and thirdly it was not served on a boat. So here's the thing and if they read this: if you don't have the right ingredients to make this dish, don't wing it! Because customers will start complaining that it doesn't match what you posted on the menu and it will result in losing customers! So just be up front and honest to your customers that you don't have the ingredients for the dish you are trying to make and don't improvise it. Ok now I got that under my chest let's continue. I got the French Onion Soup which was good and the chicken francaise which their big saving grace is that the chicken on the inside is cooked nicely. Has this been my best Italian Dinner so far in all the reviews I have done these past few years? At least they cooked the food properly but the communication factor to the chefs and making sure you have the ingredients that you need are crucial and the last thing I want to see is a business go in the wrong direction. So that dish on whoever cooked it has to be a learning and accountability moment to remind and ensure that the same mistakes will not be made again.
Great service. Although we were seated next to a very large party that was very loud we enjoyed our dinner. Took a while for the food to come out. Appetizers were quick but dinner not so much. Food is pretty good. Wouldn't recommend the shrimp scampi...there was no garlic in my dish and it didn't taste like typical shrimp scampi. But the Nona meatball, bruschetta and chocolate chip lava cake were all really good.
We’ve been to Strada Mia a couple of times in the past 2 years and it was always decent. However after our experience this Saturday night we won’t be going back, as the food, service, and ambience were all lacking. Our server was very pleasant, but must have been inexperienced. She did not know the tap list and showed a pic of the beer taps on her phone which we had trouble seeing. She didn’t know the difference between a Cab and a Zin, thought a Cab was white, and then brought a white Zin without clarifying. Where was the wine list so that we could have specified what we wanted? Also the wine was served in stemless glasses which seems very tacky. The server also did not clear away empty greasy plates until we asked. The food was mediocre. The shrimp scampi was drowning in a soupy butter sauce with large chunks of garlic, and the shrimp were salad size and not very many of them. My friend’s clam sauce came with mini clams and also overly buttered and chucks of garlic. Finally, they have changed the lighting in the main dining room, and it felt like a cafeteria with weirdly bright LED lamps. A very disappointing night out!
I have been a regular patron of Strada Mia for many years. Tonight was by far the most disappointing night I have dined there. Upon arrival we were greeted by the host who was friendly & seated promptly. It went all downhill from there. We waited over 10 minutes to be greeted by our server. Our server lacked knowledge & couldn't answer very basic questions my wife and I had about the wine or dinner menu. We finally made our selections and when the food arrived we were highly disappointed, everything was bland and slightly undercooked... usually the food is very flavorful I am not sure what has changed. The staff seemed to be very overwhelmed, our waters sat empty for a majority of the time, we were never offered another round of drinks. This is not the type of service we are accustomed to at Strada Mia. We will be back to try again in the future, hopefully they can correct the issues.
We always loved the restaurant however last night we went they used a whole bottle of capers on the chicken dish and I couldn’t eat it. My heart started palpating and then we got the soup and that was no better. Definitely changed cooks or something. Unfortunately I will never go back to that restaurant I will be contacting the manager Tuesday morning
I worked in restaurants for 10+ years, both back of house and front of house. I would never leave a bad review unless it was 110% warranted. We dined in the bar area on Friday Sept 26, and we were a party of 6. Service was good, and drinks were fine. The restaurant had a pretty limited menu for Syracuse Family Weekend. This was fine, as that was our reason for being in town, and everyone found something to order. The problem was the food. Two of us ordered filet mignon, medium and medium rare. Mine was the blandest, most flavorless steak I have ever eaten. My daughter said the same. The color was correct for medium rare, perhaps a little under-done, but the steak was completely DRY. For $50 per filet, I expect perfection, not something that tastes like they bought it from a 7-11 (if 7-11 sold steak). We also had two orders of gnocchi, which was unimpressive, at best. Sauce tasted like a jar of Ragu. The salmon itself was apparently fine, but the spinach and sauce it was served with tasted and looked like it was cooked a week before and left to turn to mush. The restaurant wasn't even that busy - seemed ridiculous to have a limited menu. The purpose of a limited menu on a busy weekend is so that food quality is preserved to the restaurant's standards. I guess Strada Mia's standards are really, really low. We will not be returning.
This was my first interaction with Strada Mia 313 and I must digress a bit because I ordered pick up. However, for $15 and coming from what some review as a good Italian restaurant, I was unpleasantly surprised. My chicken parmesan sandwich/sub was tossed on what can only be described as a stale hotdog bun. Don't think I will be returning, even to dine in. It calls into question the quality and thought they put into their food. Save yourself the trouble.
