I enjoyed this place so much I went back to back. First with my son and the next day with a friend. We are from Texas so if we like the brisket… you know it’s fire. The wings were amazing too.

In Old Town Temecula, Cool restaurant with lots of patio seating to enjoy the vibe . Good service with very good food / bbq . Had the brisket sandwich / fries. Lots of meat ,that had just the right amount of smokey flavor and moisture. The fries were also cooked just right. Cool place to enjoy a ice cold beer and BBQ on the patio.

It was perfect fall day 😌 to have amazing breakfasts outdoor. This place is such a great comforter food and those that visit here.

Loved it! What a great old-timey cafe. You can tell the place has been around forever (over 90 years apparently). It has the feel of a hometown diner with great food and service. We had the Eggs Benedict and the Huevos Rancheros and had a hard time deciding which was better! The bacon in the Bloody Mary was a nice touch, too.

Great adorable family restaurant to get your money's worth. Plenty of outdoor seating and a cozy inside. We got to the hostess, very welcoming and polite. Put down my name and sat down within 3 minutes. The food portions were insane, more than enough to be shared or one hungry person. Coffee will wake you, restaurant offers great cup of coffee. Food came out withing 10 minutes of placing order. Completely happy for coming here.

Came to visit from Texas and was told they had good BBQ. Completely not disappointed! Got the Brisket, smoked Turkey, Bunt Pork belly ends and Mac-Cheese. Everything was on point and nothing was dry, full of Flavor as well. The beers were cold and the staff were nice. Definitely recommend and worth the wait! Enjoy everyone !

Overall: Great cozy Rib joint right in the heart of old town Temecula with great food and great service. I would definitely recommend it Details: Arrived on Saturday at 3pm and the line was out the door on a rainy day. The place was packed and even though I was anticipating a 45 minute wait, I was seated within 10 minutes. The prices are about average for a bbq place and the food was fresh and tasty. Portions are huge, My wife and I shared a three item plate ($50) and ended up taking half of it home. The lean Brisket was good quality but very dry. I would have chosen the moist Brisket next time. The pork ribs and pork belly ends were pretty good and as expected. Fry’s were great but not gluten free if you’re allergic. The burger with stack of brisket on top was amazing as well. The mac n cheese was my least favorite as it was a little too well done and the pasta had become a mush. The spicy Margarita was delicious and made perfectly ($10). the place is made to look old but it is well maintained and pretty clean. plenty of places to visit and walk, even in the rain and the whole place has a good vibe.

Swing Inn, Temecula, CA is located right in the heart of Old Town Temecula. My family and I had been wanting to try their food for a while, and we finally made it there for lunch. Before you're seated, a staff member outside will ask whether you prefer indoor or outdoor seating. We ordered the Family Platter for $159, which is meant to serve 2–4 people. It was huge! All the meats were flavorful and so tender, they were easy to cut and even easier to enjoy. We couldn’t finish everything, so we asked for a to-go box and saved the rest for dinner. There’s free parking behind the Swing Inn, which is super convenient. By the way—did you know that actor Dean Norris from the Netflix series Breaking Bad took over the Swing Inn? My kids were hoping to meet him, but unfortunately, he wasn’t there when we visited. Some people said he does occasionally stop by as a surprise, though, so you might get lucky! If you're planning to visit, I highly recommend sitting outdoors. Yes, it can be hot during the summer, but they have misters to help cool you down, and you’ll get a nice view of Old Town. Just keep in mind that it can be a bit noisy due to music from the pub across the street and passing cars. If you prefer a quieter and more private dining experience, indoor seating might be a better choice.

A classic diner that makes you feel like you’ve gone back in time to when you were younger. The food was great, and the service was friendly, polite and fast! I had the sirloin steak and eggs, as well as the classic French toast. The syrup was something special.

Great food and friendly staff!! Dog friendly is such a plus! I've tried several of their dishes and love everything I've tried!! Love the country fried steak and their hash browns! Brisket and cheddar sandwich is very tasty! The Ortega chili beef deep. with aujus dip is definitely a favorite!!! Mac n cheese is gooey cheesy! The loaded nachos with carne adasa is crispy and delicious!!, enough for two Can't wait to try some of their other dishes!! So many delicious looking selections! Brisket and eggs is absolutely delicious!!

Ate here about a year ago and forgot to review. The food here was amazing. Delicious BBQ that basically melts in your mouth. We went on a Saturday around 11am and it wasn't too busy. I dont think we waited at all for a table. I personally recommend the brisket. Mine was juicy, flavorful, and overall delicious. The noise is moderate due to the main road running through old town right outside. Still very manageable. Service was also great, the waitress was friendly and always checked up on us.

This was an absolute highlight of my trip to California this year, I was able to attend the ribbon cutting for the opening of take out service, I had an amazing breakfast and returned that evening for dinner with my family. The owner Dean Norris is a true gentleman he autographed items for me, the staff is super friendly and make you feel like you are part of a big family, the food was absolutely amazing delicious and I highly recommend taking the time to eat there

Spent a long weekend in Temecula and had to visit this place twice because it was so good. If I lived in the area, I'd be going 3 times a week. First time we went was for dinner. They sat us right away and the staff was so energetic and friendly. I ended up getting a combo platter while my girlfriend got one the sandwiches. The food and sauces were UNREAL! Absolute heaven. I'm salivating writing this review as I think back on that brisket. Second time we went was for Sunday lunch. The place was jumpin' so we put in a To Go order. While we waited, I had to force myself to slowly enjoy the Blue Heisenberg Cocktail. I would have had three if I had no self control. My only regret is not trying their famous cinnamon bun sooner. When we went, their oven was on the fritz but it's a good reason to make another drive back out to Temecula soon.

This little place is great if you are looking for a ALL AMERICAN BREAKFAST.its very cozy , great service and the food was excellent. Plates are BIG and sharable if u choose, as the portions are bigger than usual came for my daughter's birthday 🎂🥳. They even surprised her with a special treat at the end of our meals. Only downside no reservations and wait was at least 30 min. But they do have a bar 🍸 around Back for drinks while u wait. Definitely recommend 👌.

My husband, son and I came here for our 8 year wedding anniversary. I had two delicious drinks (vodka lavender lemonade) and all three of us had SO SO SO much amazing food. My son is super picky about his Mac and cheese and he absolutely loved it here! The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was great! We were able to catch a glimpse of Dean Norris as we were leaving. Which was super exciting also! I recommend coming here and we will definitely be back!

Absolutely love this place, we ALWAYS stop by there when in Temecula. I smoke and BBQ my own meats because no other restaurants do it like my family and friends enjoy mine, but Swing inn Cafe and BBQ gives me a run for my money, especially with their sides. The Mac and cheese is to die for 🤤. As a former New Mexican from Albuquerque it's cool to see the Breaking Bad stuff there too (Hank).

Swing Inn Cafe is one of my favorite restaurants. Since discovering the place I’ve been visiting weekly. The Wild West burger is a amazing — it's easily one of the best burgers I've ever had. And don’t skip the cinnamon roll. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service make each visit a pleasure. If you’re looking for delicious comfort food, Swing Inn Cafe is a must-visit!

My brother and I wanted to go there because we’re huge fans of BB and Better call Saul. It was lunch time, not crowded. The food was so delicious, atmosphere so good, but the waitress was kinda rude, ignoring us ( why? Cuz we were asian, not local or American?). We so hoped to see the Mr. Norris, maybe next time. Highly recommend for the food!

The bartender Antonio, thank you for making my extra toast order and those drinks are so delicious keep up the amazing service and talent! My son is a huge fan of breaking bad main reason we came to eat here. We order brisket came with two french toast and our side dish was baked beans. We ordered chili cheese fries. It was just the two of us we shared and it was more than enough. The brisket was soft and juicy, easily shredded. The beans had bacon, sweet as honey. The French toast was hand down the best i have tried. Soft with a nice crunch. We sat outside and the breeze was so nice. We love that we saw a lot of dog.

Enjoyed the smoke turkey here as much as any in Texas. The sides were delicious as well. The cole slaw was heavy on dill which I didn't mind. If I had a complaint or would be the BBQ sauce was sweet and the Sweet BBQ sauce was the sweetest I think I've ever had. Almost fit to be called BBQ syrup. But the mac and cheese was probably the best restaurant mac and cheese ever..

One of thee best places I've eaten smoked Texas Style BBQ. First the food: ordered the two smoked meat combo platter, consisting of brisket and ribs with sides of fries and mac & cheese. They also added some Texas garlic toast, pickles, and BBQ sauce on the side. The brisket and ribs were melt-in-your-mouth tender and not covered in a lot of spices or sauce. In fact the sauce they provide is not even needed! It's the perfect balance between tasting the meat and the spices they use (which I hear is just salt and pepper). Excellently prepared. Delicious! Presentation as you can see in the photos is on a baking sheet, which goes hand-in-hand with the atmosphere of the place as an old diner. Service was great, friendly, and fast. If I were to come back to old town Temecula, I would definitely stop in at the Swing Inn for another helping of their amazing BBQ.

T

As a Texas girl, I know my brisket, and Swing Inn Cafe did not disappoint! The brisket plate was perfection—so tender and flavorful. Their sauces were amazing, but the spicy one was my absolute favorite. I also tried the goat cheese salad with turkey, and WOW—it was phenomenal! The lime vinaigrette dressing was so refreshing, I need that recipe ASAP. Everything about my meal was top-notch, and I can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend!

This place has a good atmosphere. The staff is busy making sure you are taken care of. When my wife and I went, the lunch rush was going on, and we were seated quickly because of the plenty of room. The food and appetizers were amazing and came out quick enough. The portions were great, and we had leftovers. The Brisket and Ribs disolves and falls apart, and they are juicy. Overall, you will not be disappointed with this restaurant. Sadly, Uncle Hank wasn't there

My husband and I ate at the Swing Inn Café for the first time and we had an amazing experience! Our server, Tiffany, was absolutely incredible. She was so attentive, kind, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot on especially the brisket and ribs. They were delicious and honestly some of the best we’ve ever had! We loved everything about our visit and have already told all our friends about this place. We’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommend asking for Tiffany she made our first visit unforgettable. 🙌🏽✨

If you're a fan of mouthwatering pork ribs and brisket, Swing is the place to be. The ribs are perfectly cooked, tender, and packed with flavor, while the brisket is melt-in-your-mouth goodness—definitely some of the best I've had. Pair it with a cold local beer or a classic Corona, and you've got a meal worth savoring. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was incredibly fast, with our food arriving in under 15 minutes, far quicker than expected for such a popular spot. The staff were on top of things; the hostess was very knowledgeable about table availability, and our waitress checked in regularly to ensure everything was perfect. Overall, a fantastic experience with great food and exceptional service!

Extraordinary! Who knew you could find a slice of heaven in little old Temecula? We were just walking by when the mouthwatering smell of smoked meat pulled us right in. We ordered the cheese curds and a dip sandwich with the best onion rings. e Everything was fresh, perfectly cooked, and came out promptly, including the service. Honestly, nothing needed a single thing extra, but we couldn’t get enough of their house-made BBQ sauce. We loved dinner so much that we came back the next morning for breakfast! The cinnamon roll was absolutely to die for, and the breakfast entrées did not disappoint either. This place is a must-stop. We can’t wait to come back!

Husband and I came here on a whim because it was recommended by my sister. Seemed to be one of their busiest times around 1-3pm and we only had to wait like 30 mins. The waiter we had was very sweet. I did not catch his name, but he had a long beard. He was very communicative and informative. We were about to get the family platter because it says it feeds about 2-4 people but in reality he told us it's like way more people because they give so much food, so we went with a 3 meat option which to my surprise we still had leftovers. I recommend the lavender lemonade cocktail if you want something refreshing, and the jalapeno burger was such a move.

Swingin’ BBQ is officially my new favorite spot! Their brisket was absolutely AMAZING !!!tender, smoky, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. You can tell they put real love and time into their meat because every bite was melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The portions were generous, the service was friendly, and the whole place has that authentic, cozy BBQ vibe. If you’re thinking about trying it, do it . especially the brisket! I’ll definitely be coming back. 🔥🍖

We tried the 3-meat combo platter with brisket, smoked turkey and ribs. This included a good portion of Texas Toast and we had potato salad and smoked beans for sides. The food was terrific. Better than I expected, and our server was fantastic. We enjoyed sitting outside on a Saturday afternoon while watching all the cars driving by. We will definitely return to enjoy the delicious food at the Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ.

Had a great experience at Swing Inn Cafe and BBQ! The food was solid—burger was big and delicious, and the Caesar salad was super fresh. Wings were just okay, but everything else made up for it. Excellent service all around, and the staff was super friendly. We sat on the outdoor patio—great spot for people-watching and they allow dogs, which is a huge plus. The margaritas and Bloody Marys were both on point. Totally forgot to snap pics of the food.

Customer service was friendly. Food came out really fast even though our waitress was overwhelmed with people. The brisket, Benedict over biscuit was everything I imagined. Cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. The kids loved everything they got as well. Waffles and fluffy pancakes. We also got their cinnamon roll topped with walnuts. So glad we tried every thing. Definitely glad we got to try this place. Will definitely be back.

The brisket and the pulled pork were delicious, this place definitely amazed me for how good the food was. The plates aren’t too pricey for the amount of food you’re getting. I definitely left here satisfied. The $17 Shraderbrau was too expensive for a 24oz but when in Rome. It was good too.

Today we had the opportunity to meet up with a friend who lives in San Diego for brunch. We came to the swing Inn café, and right away got a table on the patio in the sunshine, which was glorious. Christina was our server and she was incredibly professional and represents the facility so well in her interactions with all of the customers. The place was really hopping because it was a beautiful beautiful day. My husband had corn beef hash and eggs. My son had Country fried chicken and eggs and toast. My friend enjoyed a Belgian waffle with eggs and strawberries. I had one of the most gorgeous avocado toasts I've ever had. The coffee was great as well. This was a wonderful experience with all the families and dogs and pleasant weather. We would return in a heartbeat because Olde Town Temecula is really a fun place to do people watching and swing in café is a great place from which to treasure the experience.

That cinnamon roll is light and not too sweet. Yum the brisket on Eggs Benedict, pass. But the waffle was good. Did mention that cinnamon roll?

Came on a Sunday afternoon, no wait at all for a party of 2. Our first time here, we got the cheese curds, 3 meat platter with smoked turkey, brisket, and pork burnt ends with baked beans and mac n cheese, and the jalapeño cheeseburger. Everything was delicious, but my favorite overall was the brisket and the cheese curds. The strawberry lemonade was also great as well. Had lots of leftovers and the price is very reasonable compared to big BBQ chain restaurants. Best BBQ I’ve ever had and would definitely come back again… recommend to everyone to try.

Excellent BBQ! We got a Brisket plate with Mac & Cheese and a 1/2 rack Spare Ribs plate with Cole Slaw. Everything was made to perfection. The prices and portions are fair. I looked up from my plate and saw Dean Norris walking up from the kitchen. I'm so glad the restaurant is doing well for him. It's a big restaurant and is always busy. I was impressed by the large number of employees, all working efficiently together like a well tuned machine. We got on the waiting list at noon and we were seated before 1pm. Well worth the wait! We look forward to trying more of the menu on future trips. Update: Got a Brisket and Pork Belly Burnt Ends 2 meat plate with Potato Salad and Cole Slaw, and a full rack of Pork Ribs with Mac & Cheese. The brisket was a little dry, but very tender and tasty. The burnt ends and ribs were excellent. The sides were all very good.

Friend and I had a phenomenal experience at the Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ. Did not disappoint. We were initially intrigued by the fact it was being run by Dean Norris one of the actors from Breaking Bad. Customer service was top notch, food was delicious, atmosphere was great. I would for sure come back to this place to eat again. Definitely a worthy spot in Old Town Temecula to check out.

Swing In Café & BBQ is a true gem in the local food scene, and my wife and I always look forward to dining here. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, the experience is consistently excellent. For breakfast, the country fried steak and eggs is my go-to dish—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with eggs. The brisket and eggs plate is another standout, with tender, smoky meat that’s absolutely delicious. Their full BBQ menu is just as impressive, offering generous portions that are perfect for sharing with family or friends. If you’re really hungry, don’t miss the Dino Rib Bone—it’s huge, juicy, and packed with flavor. What makes Swing In Café & BBQ even better is the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff is always polite and attentive, ensuring you feel right at home. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating, giving you flexibility in how you enjoy your meal. Be aware that it can get quite busy on weekends, but the lively vibe and outstanding food make it worth the wait. Beyond the amazing menu and service, Swing In Café & BBQ holds a special place in the area’s history, adding an extra layer of charm to every visit. It’s more than just a restaurant—it’s a part of the community. I can’t recommend this place enough for anyone looking for great food, friendly service, and a touch of local tradition!

I'm a huge Breaking Bad fan, so I definitely wanted to try Hank's BBQ. I took the advice of fellow reviewers here and avoided the pork. The Brisket is one of the best I've ever had. My husband got the huge Dino Beef Rib. I got the Mac, he got potato salad. Portions are huge. Either fine hungry or take the rest as leftovers. The leftovers were still tasty the next day. For reference, we came with my parents on Friday night for *early* dinner ~5pm and were able to be seated fairly quickly. We noticed Saturday morning brunch was quite busy with people waiting outside. Oh and the cheese curds are good too, for appetizer. Enjoy!

D

Had the Wild West Burger and an order of cheese curds. The cheese curds are hands down the best I’ve ever had. Chain restaurants do them at a basic level but this place was best. Almost looked like tater-tots, not sure if they bake or broil them after the initial deep fry. Wild West Burger came out as ordered, medium rare. The side of onion rings were really good too. The food came out fast too for a party of three.

The place is a little smaller then what I thought, but still decent. The lighting inside was extremely bright so we decided to eat outside. They had several seats and heaters outside so I was comfortable. The food was great! Tried the brisket, ribs, pulled pork, and smoked chicken. All was great. And the house sauce was also really good. Will definitely be back again to try more. By the way they have allot on the menu to choose from. Service was fast and friendly also.

Everything you heard about this place is true! Best BBQ in California. The taste, tenderness, and smell of the meat are fantastic. Waitresses are welcoming and responsive. If you ever find yourself in the area, you should visit this place. If you are a vegetarian visiting this place you probably will be converted back to normal.

Excellent lunch at the iconic Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ, a historic institution with a surprisingly modern twist: it’s co-owned by actor Dean Norris (known to Breaking Bad fans as Hank Schrader!). We devoured the Texas-style craft BBQ and the signature home-brewed Schraderbräu Marzen beer. For fans, the entire place acts as a subtle Breaking Bad Easter egg, though we just missed Dean that day. Fantastic BBQ.

Texas BBQ is their specialty but I opted for the liver and onions that they have served since 1927! I was not disappointed. For $17, you get two thick beef liver slabs smothered with onions on top. Sides were vegetables and mashed potatoes with gravy. Heavenly! The wife had the BBQ pulled pork sandwich with fries. Also excellent! They have 3 bbq sauce containers at the table: sweet, house and spicy. I'm sure you'll find one suited to your taste. For dessert, we had the cinnamon roll. Their specials screen mentions that their cinnamon rolls are the best in town. I would have to agree! It's so moist and buttery. I loved every bite of it!

Good food and great service. Staff was extremely friendly and attentive. The place smelled heavenly. Nothing beats that smell of good smoked barbecue. I had breakfast this time around. Everything was cooked to perfection. This is definitely going to become my go to place whenever I’m in the Temecula area. Try it out, Support, some local business, and experience the magic of old town Temecula transferring you back into the Old West days Update: came back two days later for the BBQ. Ticket home on a 2 hour drive. Reheated it once I got home and it was so good!

We loved this place! The brisket was absolutely delicious—tender, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. We went on a Sunday and had about a 20-minute wait, which was well worth it. Wednesday, 12:30 pm A full house with a mild wait. The other venues in the immediate area were almost vacant. THAT seems to speak volumes. The venue's reputation as a "must visit" BBQ spot is well deserved. I was in the area for business, but I also wanted to visit a previous colleague that I hadn't seen in eleven years. Loretta is the General Manager, a VERY competent and appropriate person for the position. The staff was well trained, friendly and accommodating. We unintentionally ran our server, Trevor, ragged with various requests. He pleasantly and quickly accommodated each & every one of them. My sister had a very well prepared two egg breakfast with an impressive Bloody Mary. Good portions. I was "forced", willingly, to indulge in a rather huge platter of three of their BBQ meats, just to see if the hype was real. IT WAS MOST CERTAINLY REAL!! Delicious, "fall off the bone" tender, flavorful, and juicy. My choices were Brisket, Pork Ribs, and Pulled Pork with Cole Slaw and Baked Beans, accompanied by a pile of Texas Toast. This platter would easily satisfy two people!! I also enjoyed a Bloody Mary. (and a Cadillac Margarita rocks) The venue is VERY dog friendly. In fact, there were around a half dozen, of all sizes, in the crowd. I ordered a side of bacon for my pup! Prices are moderate but a rather good value for the buck. It was good to visit an old friend and enjoy a delicious lunch in the process!! If you are in the area and pass this place by, I seriously question your dining values!! Seek it out. You'll be glad you did.

In mid November my family and I visited Swing Inn Cafe for the first time for dinner. We got there around 430ish on a Sunday. The wait was about 20-30 min and the host was kind trying to get us in as quick as possible since it was pretty chilly outside. We ordered a brisket sandwich with onion rings, combo plate for two with ribs and burnt ends with Cole slaw and Mac and cheese, Philly cheese steak with fries with and an appetizer of brisket fries. Unfortunately, the combo order was not correct and while we hated to complain they were so quick to fix the problem. We were so appreciative for their kindness and great service. Everyone went home with leftovers mostly because we were full from the appetizers but everything was delicious. The waitresses and the rest of the staff were great! Can't wait to go back again! Delicious!

Overall we had a positive dining experience. Understandably there was almost an hour wait but that is to be expected on such a nice day. People were out enjoying the nice weather and plenty of local food options. We started out with brisket fries and deep fried cheese curds. They were both delicious. We also enjoyed some of the juiciest brisket we ever had. The ceaser salad was good as were the bone-in wings. The one item that definitely was lacking was the mac-n-cheese. They missed the mark on what should have been smoked mac-n-cheese. A nice cheesy crust on top would have met the expectations we had for the side.

Pretty long wait but the food was worth the wait. pork ribs, brisket and baked beans are very good. I highly recommend trying them out. Food was good. I got the brisket and pork ribs with a couple of sides. The brisket and ribs had some nice bark on it. Everything went well with the house bbq sauce. I would definitely go back to try the rest of the menu.

Great spot for delicious food. One plater combo with 2 smoked meats is plenty enough for 2 people. The margarita was super good but on the small side. The Dutch apple pie with ice cream was really good and highly recommend it. The lemon meringue pie was really good too. Spent $100 for everything.

Everything was awesome except the smoked wings..... The brisket and ribs were extremely good! I felt like it was pro smoker made at home. The bbq sauce was addicting. We ordered thesmoked wings as well and they were definitely raw at the bone unfortunately. They had really good flavor but had to stop at one bite. The server said many people were sending them back because of the pinkness and I u derstand that perfectly cooked chicken will have pink. But.... look at my pictures, there was blood. This place was a solid 5 stars had the chicken been cooks. The servers were very helpful and gave us a butter cinnamon roll that was just too good. I would still recommend this place for the ribs and brisket.

My first time experience was overall good. I came in around 2:40 pm on a Thursday, and was told the wait would be 1 hour. We got called & seated at the 40 minute mark. I ordered the brisket platter for myself and my 6 year old got the cheeseburger. Our waitress was attentive and professional regardless of the staff being busy and short staffed. I would say my food was good, but it wasn't anything extraordinary. The BBQ sauces were tasty and ranged from sweet, original, and spicy. I wouldn't say they have the best BBQ in town, but it's still a good eat.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4 stars) Swing Inn Café – Temecula, CA My partner and I have been wanting to try Swing Inn for over a year now, and today we finally made it happen. It’s a Texas-style BBQ house located right in the heart of Temecula. When we arrived, we were a bit thrown off—the entrance felt like it dropped us straight into the kitchen. There wasn’t a proper waiting area, and no one greeted us right away. After standing awkwardly for a minute, I flagged down a waitress to ask if we just seat ourselves. She responded with a quick, “Be right with you.” It was busy, but not overwhelming. When we were finally seated, it was at a very small table in the back. My partner and I like to try multiple things when we go somewhere new, so we asked if we could sit at the bar instead. Thankfully, the switch was no problem—and honestly, the bar seats were way more comfortable and spacious. A different waitress came by almost immediately and asked if we were ready to order, but we hadn’t even seen a menu yet. I told her it was our first time, hoping she’d guide us through the options, but she quickly moved on without much help. We ended up ordering the three smoked meats (brisket, pork burnt ends, and half chicken) along with the goat cheese salad. The food came out quickly and looked amazing. The chicken was the standout—juicy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked (which is rare for BBQ chicken!). The brisket had good seasoning but was edging on the dry side, which was a letdown since brisket should really shine at a BBQ spot. The pork was decent, but again, a few pieces were dry—which surprised me considering how fatty pork usually is. Overall, I’d give Swing Inn 4 stars. The service wasn’t very warm or welcoming, and the food, while good, felt inconsistent. A few improvements like reworking the entrance, creating a more inviting atmosphere, and tightening up food quality would really take this place to the next level. Would I go back? Maybe—with the hopes that the next visit feels a little more dialed in.

Love those misters as I waited for an inside table at Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ in Old Town Temecula. Most of the customers chose to eat outside. We didn’t have to wait long for seats. The server came to us quickly and since we had looked over the menu while we waited outside, we knew what we wanted. We only had a discussion on dessert and chose strawberry rhubarb though peach cobbler would have been a great choice too. We had brisket sandwiches and a pork sandwich. All excellent! I highly recommend Swing Inn Cafe & BBQ.

I have been wanting to try this place for a while now, and finally, I was able to. The food was really good, but I really want to go back for breakfast... We had some wings and they were so delicious 😋🤤. We also had some pulled pork nachos, and those nachos were loaded with so much goodness! If you are into onion rings, theirs are really crunchy 🧅😋. Once I try the breakfast, I will be on here again, giving my breakfast review! 🤪🥳

Wish I had tried the BBQ, got the jalapeno burger with onion rings, it was good and greasy but kept hearing how good the BBQ was, was hesitant since I'm from the South and didn't think the BBQ would live up to the hype. Very disappointed I couldn't get some Schraderbrau beer, none in stock apparently to some brewing issue and no opportunity for gifts since gift store was closed

We had the pleasure of going to the Swing Inn Cafe over the weekend and overall, we had a great experience. The service was great! From the hostess to the server, they were on top of everything! The food was pretty good too. The bbq chicken, BLT and Cheddar Jalapeño sausage was incredible! There were a few misses though. The brisket was a bit dry and cold when it came out. The mac and cheese was pretty bland as well. However, the beans had to be the highlight of the meal. That and meeting Dean Norris. He was such a cool and down to earth guy. We look forward to going back the next time we’re in Temecula

I went here on a date night with my husband. He got the bbq burger that had brisket on it (I think?) and Mac n cheese. I wasn’t too hungry so I got the chili cheese fries. He liked his food!! He thought the Mac n cheese was creamy and great. I personally did not enjoy my chili cheese fries. To me, they had a weird after taste and I ended up just eating around to only get to the fries and I ate some of his Mac n cheese. The server was nice enough, however, she rarely checked on us. They forgot about us a few times, and even forgot to give us utensils with our food. By the time we were very ready to go, we waited awhile before ending up flagging down the server so we could pay. It was a nice place to try, but expensive and no “wow” factor to me, service or food wise.

Unfortunately I hate to make this review, I work in Old Town and I go have breakfast at swing inn a lot. However, today the service was horrible. I came in to buy a chorizo burrito to go. As soon as I walked into the establishment, the short black hair, Hispanic lady ignore me. I told her I needed to buy a burrito and she said OK but then she kept on taking plates from the kitchen counter to take to the tables. She never really acknowledge me. She came back and I’m still waiting for her to take my order, a couple came in, she took them to a table and I’m standing there. Another party came in with three people she also took them to a table, even though one of the girls acknowledge me and told her that I was there before and she said OK. Finally, another girl came in her name was Mikala, I explained to her what had happened that I have been completely ignored and I was just standing there to buy a burrito. Sh was nice and she apologize, obviously, but that’s not the point I felt disrespected.. to top it off my burrito was very greasy and lots of hash browns . my visit was today 12/16/25 @ 9:40 am, this could be my last visit. Unfortunate is was so convenient since I work across the street from them.

We went there on January 2nd, at 12:30pm, and sat in the large booth in the back room. The BBQ is really good! The service, not so much. We had the pulled pork, ribs, and brisket, all a solid 4 outta 5. The Mac & cheese was a 3, potato salad a 4. We ordered cherry and apple pie, and asked to have them warmed. Little did we know they would just put in the microwave. It came out bubbling hot and SOGGY! You don’t warm up pie in the microwave, you have to put it in an oven. Big disappointment. And they also don’t have ice cream to come with the pie. Our server was nice, but inattentive. We had to continuously get her attention and when she finally brought the check, she left and started doing her side work at the end of her shift. We sat for 10 minutes before we finally asked someone else if we could just pay and leave. I don’t believe we will be back. Better BBQ joints in the area.

Walked in and staff was super nice and sat us quickly. Lots of food to pick from and ultimately picked the 3 meat combo and shared with one other person. Food looks amazing, but sadly lacked in flavor and juiciness. I will say the meats were very very tender! Ratings Presentation:10/10 Ribs: 6/10 (7/10 with sauce) Brisket: 6/10 Mac n Cheese: 7/10 (only reason we give it this score is because we love more salt and gooey mac) Baked Beans: 9/10 Overall Rating: 6/10 In conclusion the food was decent, atmosphere is great, staff is great.

Service was odd. We entered and were greeted by a server who asked us to wait. We waited while other patrons were greeted and seated immediately. After waiting we inquired and were seated immediately. Its as if they forgot about us even though we were in plain sight in the small establishment. We then ordered our food, including their supposed best cinnamon roll but sadly I cannot judge this claim because the roll never made it. At least they didn't charge us. Beyond this the food was not bad but also wasn't great.

X
Xitlaly Jiminez

The service was absolutely amazing! They were fast and attentive. The list/ waiting area could use a lot of work. There’s not really anywhere to wait so we can on the side. We got closer 20 minutes in to wait for our name to be called only for us to ask 30 minutes later about our time and she said she had called us already but she saw us waiting there the entire time… there needs to be a speaker or text if they aren’t going to have a proper waiting area. The food was okay. This was average BBQ. None of the sides were worth raving about. I was very disappointed with the chicken because it was flavorful on the outside then it was super dry in the inside. The bbq sauces were good. This isn’t a restaurant I would personally recommend as there’s better bbq places. My husband said the cherry pie was the best thing ever. My mom said the peach cobbler wasn’t good. No flakes just dough dropped inside.

S
Suzanne Jackson

Went with a large group and got outdoor seating. The wait was about 45 minutes which would be fine if the food wasn’t basic. The giant cinnamon roll is covered in butter so it ends up being soggy and just taste like butter. The liver is beef liver so it has that gamey taste and the onions were not cooked all the way so we got some crunchy raw ones. I guess we were expecting the nostalgia of chicken liver with grilled onions. This wasn’t even seasoned. Mashed potatoes were good. The Ortega dip was the best.

Came here on a Friday night, unusually not as packed as we were expecting. Ordered family pack, good enough for 5 people to share. Brisket was great 9/10 Ribs was meh, 6/10 Pulled pork was ok, 7/10 Burnt ends was great 8/10 Cinnamon bun is the main reason why you come here 😋 10/10 Servers will ignore you, even if they seem to be free. Or maybe because we were then only Asian folks there 🤷‍♂️ Overall great place for bbq. But I'll only go there for the cinnamon roll (takeout) 🫡

I think this place has potential, but they are lacking when it comes to food and service. My GF and I got the 3 meat platter, and all the meat seemed reheated. Definitely disappointing, because I think it would be good fresh, but it had that kind of dry microwaved texture which ruined it. They do give a good quantity for the price, but IMO quality is more important. Other than the meat, the food was good. I also liked the Schraderbrau beer, it wasn't my favorite, but it tasted great. The service was also sub par at best. We didn't have silverware when our food came out and it took forever to get our check. I wouldn't say the place is a complete gimmick, I think it could be great if they manage it better.

Saw an ad and a reel with an influencer i like that visited... also it's owned by Hank breaking bad, so I wanted to go unfortunately i was in influenced and it was pretty mid across the board. Brisket was incredibly dry and small, pretty disappointing to pictures I've seen on Google. I'm not a fan of pulled pork so to me it was still meh. The pork burnt ends were spectacular but probably smallest in amount for the 3 meats ordered. Sad brisket deterred me from buying the Hank brisket shirt toh Sides chosen were corn riblets and mashed potatoes. Corn was fire it's grilled corn, tje potatoes were cold so maybe you try eating playdoh with sauce. Service was slow even though there were plenty of staff around... we went at 2 and didnt leave until 3:15 and half the time was definitely spent waiting.

Visited on a Sunday for lunch. It was pretty busy and we waited about 30 minutes for a table. I wanted to try this spot because of its popularity (Owned by Breaking Bad actor Bryan Cranston). Ordered the Brisket with Mac and Cheese – the brisket was tender, fatty and flavorful, and the mac and cheese was a great side. Overall, a good experience and worth checking out if you’re in downtown Temecula.

S
Simon Eats Too Much

I have no reason to hate, so I’ll just be honest: Genuinely some of the worst barbecue I’ve ever had. This feels like a gimmick—lots of Breaking Bad themed decor because Hank from the show owns the spot. But what the heck is he supposed to know about barbecue? You’re better off spending $100+ elsewhere for other food. Influencers love to post this and mention how the meat falls off the bone and is so tender. Sure, that does happen, but it’s completely flavorless. I ordered quite a bit with my group and I swear we only ate the Chili Cheese fries in entirety, which were really good. For the 3-meat plate we got pulled pork (was a ball of lazy shredded pork), brisket (tender and pulled apart easily, but all the seasoning was caked on top in a thick layer, not cooked into it. It was also the DRYEST meat I’ve ever had), and ribs (again, no flavor whatsoever). This place prides itself in smoking the meat for like 26 hours but what does it matter if it dries it all out and flavor isn’t cooked into it? As for the sides: Toast wasn’t even toasted much and the bread was simply white, likely store bought. Mashed potatoes were chalky and pasty. Mac n cheese lacked flavor and were watery. I’m not even joking or exaggerating with any of this, it truly wasn’t good. We got boxes to take back the 1+ pound we didn’t eat because we simply didn’t like it, and I just ended up throwing it out. I wasted ~$120 on bland, dry meat with lazily-prepared sides. Please, do not come here until this establishment picks up the quality of food. Recent reviews haven’t been as good as past ones.

stay_hungry_taipei

This restaurant is definitely overrated when it comes to BBQ. The place wouldn't last a month if it was in Texas. Since it is in Southern California I'd put it in low middle group. They severely lack on good smoking wood and try to make up by over seasoning the food. The 2-3 combo plate prices are insanely high. I thought the ratings were legit but it appears many of the high ratings are due to a multi-million dollar celeb owning, and being seen there. RATE THE FOOD AND SERVICE NOT THE CELEB. 5 word summary: Do Not Waste Your Time!

Keno’s with a facelift. This grease-grilled diner posturing as a BBQ joint is nothing but an ill-conceived deception to the residents of Temecula. The wait staff was kind and earnest for the most part and I have to imagine that even they were ignorant to the stomach churning slop they were serving. From jawbreaking baby-back ribs that felt like chewing through the dried sponge you use to clean countertops and a cabbage stew served in mayo broth they called “coleslaw” to say the food was underwhelming would be too generous. However, the real terror came not half an hour after departing the Swing Inn. The ribs returned with a vengeance bringing forth a chorus that wrought our doom: the bubble guts. Both my fiancé and I succumbed to illness 3 blocks away at another, much finer establishment. Holding back the tides of nausea we had no choice but to leave Temecula trying to keep our dignity and bowels from escaping us.

I don't recommend place to no one had wait hour for are food . Both of us ask for country potatoes there ran out just replace them with hash browns. With out asking if we want anything different. The rest of the food was Horrible I got the New Orleans Benedict the pulled pork was dry and hard and the hash browns were under cooked raw . My fiance had the Chile Verde omelette all the pork in The Omelette was dry and hard as well she also had raw potatoes in her hash brown.

kinda disappointed, we weren't able to try the food, we were waiting in line. We didnt want the sling because servers almost knock our baby out the seat at another restaurant and we didnt want to risk it. Was looking forward on trying it

My wife and I were so excited to try this place and we left disappointed. The meat on the Ortega dip my wife ordered was super dry. I ordered the Crunchy Jalapeño Burger and it had pickled jalapeños instead. When I asked about it, I was told the recipe had changed but wasn't informed about it when I ordered the burger. Our onion rings were on the greasy side also. We are NOT planning on a return visit or recommend bathroom were filthy place is old and run down. Our bill was $132.00 and that was outrageous!

Its been a while since we'd last eaten here, and it has gone done in all categories. Sadly, we can no longer tell people its an okay place to go in Old Town. Meat under cooked and grisly, rehydrated mashed potatoes and packaged gravy, canned beans, the potato salad tastes like the famous brand pre-packaged red potato and dill salad. They'd sent staff home, so our food took a very long time to cmome out and was served cold. It took about 20 minutes to get a bill to pay, after we'd said we were ready to pay. I hope they can turn it around!

While I love their food and the people that work there, I was really disappointed when I ordered take out today at noon on 7/3/25. I ordered 2 Beef 'Dino' Ribs $45 ea. and a 3 smoked meat combo platter for $59 w/tax = $160+/-. Trusting the establishment I took the boxes to my car and drove and hour to meet with family. To my utter disbelief and disappointment after opening the two boxes all I got for my $160 was the two smallest Beef Dino ribs I've ever seen and 8 pieces of brisket and 6 small pieces of pork burnt ends. My heart sank. I felt like they took me for a fool. Whenever I've dined there before the proportions, were much larger. I remember going there for the first time and getting the beef Dino rib and taking home to finish later or going in with a friend and ordering the 3 smoked meat combo platter and having to take that home as well to finish later. Im not going to order out again. I'll need a break from their place for now, I'm still very disappointed. Next time I'll dine in, sit down order enjoy some sweet tea and when the food arrives, then immediately ask for containers to take it home.

If I could rate it negative stars, I would. Everything was flavorless and dry. The only decent item was the Cole slaw. We took home about $50 of leftovers and threw it all away. Service was great, so props to them for that.

I really wanted to like this place. I've been wanting to visit for the longest time. Decided to drive out here on my birthday for lunch and decided to eat off the appetizer menu. The swing inn slider flight was so incredible dry, the meat was overcooked and just not good. Dry meat on a dry bun, no pickles, onions or any thing on my plate to add, I guess that's how it's served in Texas since this is supposed to be Texas style BBQ. The pork belly macaroni and cheese was ok, really greasy with 3 very large pieces of pork belly, also dry and hard to eat. The service was good, the food came fast. I hate giving bad reviews. Maybe this was a one-off, im not sure, but I'm disappointed.

My husband and I visited Swing Inn Cafe in Old Town Temecula with our very well-behaved 6-month-old, and the experience was incredibly disappointing. We both grew up coming here and were genuinely excited to return while visiting from England, which makes this even more upsetting. The food was poor. The potatoes were overcooked and dry, there was no seasoning on any of the food, and nothing resembled what was pictured on the menu. For a place known for its breakfast, this was extremely underwhelming. Despite the restaurant being slow, the service was awful. Our server, Kathrine (Kathy), greeted us rudely with a blunt “what do you want to drink,” and the tone never improved. We were there for an hour and a half, yet only about 15 minutes of that time was spent actually eating — the rest was waiting on service. She was consistently short and unkind to our family, while being noticeably warm and hospitable to other tables around us. At checkout, we politely asked if a military discount was offered for active duty, and were met with visible annoyance and an attitude about having to adjust the bill. The entire interaction made us feel like an inconvenience rather than paying customers. Overall, we left feeling robbed of both our time and money. This was not the Swing Inn we remembered, and unfortunately we won’t be returning.

Got the brisket nachos and a platter to share with my brother consisting of brisket and pastrami. As soon as the nachos came I could tell they were gonna be nasty, the brisket looked and tasted dry. When the platter came the brisket and pastrami it was cold and tasted no good. The brisket just tasted smoked no flavor and the pastrami was really salty. The only thing I found good was the coleslaw and pickle slices that came along for the meal. Honestly all the food tasted like Chef Mike cooked it. Guaranteed there’s other places that are better for bbq. Maybe the breaking bad name is just a gimmick. Go somewhere else do not recommend.

So, so, so disappointed.... I've been here a few times, saw the Tik Tok and drove down all the way from Fontana on multiple occasions. Today, I called ahead to be sure they had the Dino Ribs, the gal who answered the phone told me they did have them tonight. I told her I wanted to make sure since I was driving an hour for their food. I arrived, asked to order and was told that they weren't doing to go orders. I thought she was joking, But her look said she was being serious. I was looking to buy two of their 220 dollar platters for a dinner for family that flew in from out of state. I worked at a restaurant for many years, never have I heard of no to go orders. They weren't even that busy. The patio was half empty. Can you believe it? No to go orders at the Famous Swing Inn Cafe....

Had 2 sandwiches and supposedly their better sandwiches, let's just say turkey was undercooked, sons brisket cheddar was either left over from the night before and chopped up and reheated , the onion rings were a grease bomb mess and service sucked. No hospitality, very dry not friendly, both my son and I felt rushed and or felt that it was about numbers getting in and out vs quality and enjoyment. For $68 id rather go anywhere but here honestly. Badlands bbq is way better hands down. The lady beside us said that the restaurant stunk of grease after she said that I was like , yup it doesn't smell good in here... highly recommend going elsewhere, lastly if this establishment cared about the negative reviews they'd respond and make it right instead of just replying to the positive reviews.

No welcome when we entered the restaurant we sit there for two minutes. Three different people looked at us never said anything. We finally set ourselves. The food came out we ordered the identical things. The meat was undercooked in my opinion, especially for a pastrami sandwich. The bread was not toasted. The waitress never came over to ask us if the food was good or if everything was all right I asked for a ranch dressing for my onion rings and I would have finished my meal before she bring it, but I stopped eating for about five minutes and she finally bring it over overall bad experience. The food was not that good and the service was definitely not good
