Super, super place. We went on a Wednesday evening (late ~8PM PT). Good wine [half off bottles on wednesdays]. Everyone was friendly and welcoming - even for some later than hoped for walkin arrivals. The Maitre' D seated us right away. The servers were super friendly and helpful. Since it was so late, we skipped on the anti-pasta and ordered right away. We had a ferrari Chardonney (excellent), penne reggiano [with a meatball side], fettucine alfredo with shrimp, and a pesto capasante con penne [caeser salad] + garlic bread. Food came out piping hot and everything was truly excellent. By the way the meatball was great and glad i got it, but i did not need it.. there was plenty of food. I also did get the tiramasu and a decaf coffee [yes i know..decaf...]. Very pleasant meal. I did not feel rushed, i felt welcome by everyone, even though closing was soon.. and the food was fan-tas-tic. .Scardino's is now on my list of staples to visit when i visit the South Bay. I will be returning here.
Best Italian food we've had outside of Italy. Calamari appetizer is a must. It's so fresh it tastes like ocean and the tomato sauce is incredible. Their pizzas are amazing. I ordered lobster ravioli with tobico which were absolutely delicious and my husbands lasagna was great too. Finished with the best tiramisu it was a wonderful dining experience.
This family-owned small restaurant provided a relaxed atmosphere with indoor and covered outdoor seating. What a positive experience while visiting the area! Our friends from Long Beach and Manhattan Beach met us for lunch and it was their first time here. They said they’ll be back! We were all impressed with our dishes—lasagna, house salad, linguini pescatore, gnocchi, 1/2 lasagna with 1/2 spaghetti with meatball and sausage, chicken bbq pizza, and Hawaiian pizza. The baskets of garlic bread was soft, flavored right, and had many slices cut small (perfect for those who only want a little bit). We had no wait, even though they were busy. The server was friendly, she knew her menu well, and properly attentive without over-visiting the table. The pricing was reasonable, but I wouldn’t pay higher. The menu offered a vast array of choices. The atmosphere is casual and the restaurant is conveniently located on Torrance Blvd in a shopping strip.
My wife and I love the food. The staff is fantastic. Are favorite is Large pizza pepperoni and onesie Hawaiian on top of the pepperoni. With Italian red ale beer. Perfection 👌
We had dinner at Scardino’s in Torrance this past Saturday night and really enjoyed the experience. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was lively—though it can get a bit loud at times. The staff is friendly, and our server kept us entertained with a stream of funny stories that added to the evening. My favorite dishes are the Penne Pappalina and the Vegetarian Pizza, both of which are consistently delicious. I’ve also tried the Penne Arrabbiata, but it was a little too spicy for my taste. A friend in our group ordered the Risotto con Filetto di Manzo and said it was the best risotto he’s had in the U.S.—high praise coming from him. One small downside is that they recently switched to canned sodas, which means no more free refills. Still, that’s a minor tradeoff for such a great meal. Overall, Scardino’s is a fun spot with great food and an energetic vibe—I’d happily come back again.
OMG! Where do I begin….Someone recommended this place so my girlfriend and I looked it up and decided to give it a try. If you’ve never been there before RUN! The food was OUTSTANDING!!!! I ordered the Chicken Marsala and my girlfriend ordered the half and half Chicken Alfredo and shrimp stuffed Ravioli. When I tell you it was the best Italian food I’ve ever had and the prices were amazing as well. 20 out of 10!
Sunday nights just got a whole lot better thanks to this amazing Italian restaurant! We visited this past Sunday and ordered our favorites: · Delicious Margarita pizza · Unique BBQ pizza with pineapple (game changer!) ·. Penne Pavarotti Service was EXCELLENT as always - friendly staff who know us since we're regulars! Highly recommended for a cozy Sunday dinner - or any night out! They have heating on top. Will definitely be back!" Want me to post this for you? 😄
Cozy, friendly environment. Service was attentive and kind, and the food was absolutely outstanding. I got the chicken cacciatore, which had a complex and distinct flavor different from the meat sauce that I got on the side of spaghetti, which was also very good. Even though I was full, it was so good, I wanted to eat everything they made.
I can't remember the last time I had Italian food, but trust me, I wasn't sorry. The food not only looks good but it tastes good. U had an appetizer, meal, and dessert and enjoyed every bit of it. The atmosphere is cozy with indoor or outdoor seating. The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. I would be more than happy to return here and try more from their extensive menu. Excellent. Wow! Totally unexpected hidden gem. The family restaurant was a wonderful surprise. Very professional, was not rushed, and the food was very, very good. I would bring friends here to impress them, without breaking the bank. Great food, in a plaza! The garlic bread came to the table steaming hot and was given an extra loaf after I finished the first off. My wife enjoyed the Manicotti, and I devoured the personal size Mexican pizza..(highly recommended). Did not have room for any of their awesome tiramisú.
Scardino's Italian Restaurant is an Italian restaurant like the one in the movie, the classic one, not just the overall all environment, but also the food. The Scardino's 🥗 Salad is special in the way they put their house pickled cauliflowers into the salad, something special. Prosciutto and sliced Parmigiana cheese gives you a good balance between sharp and mild. Definitely have to order their Italian Pizza (not the Italian in general, but they do have one pizza named Italian), cheese, anchovies, sliced tomatoes, with sprinkles of fresh garlic, you won't stop once you start. Last but not the least, Linguine Pescatore, their homemade red sauce is really good, it captures the taste of nice and smooth sweet, which goes very well with seafood 🦞, strongly recommend.
Homey Italian spot in a strip mall. Came here for dinner with a couple of friends and waited for about 20 minutes to get a table. Outdoor seating that is dog-friendly as well as indoor seating available. The outdoor seating does have heating. Parking is free and directly in front of the restaurant. We had complimentary garlic bread which we wolfed down and shared the lasagna, pumpkin ravioli, and pesto (we added chicken for an additional charge). One of the dishes came with minestrone soup on the side. The pastas were hearty and the sauces were all well made. My favorite was the pumpkin ravioli. The spot is family friendly and primarily local. Single occupant restroom is available inside close to the kitchen.
Pretty solid place lovely staff here. Wife and I had their signature sweet wine which wasn't too bad but paid beautifully with our dinners. Our dinner consisted of chicken risotto, their signature pizza, and combination plate of Shrimp ravioli and shrimp and chicken Alfredo. Did not regret any of that mights choices. See you guys soon. I should've had more wine that night loved it.
We were very disappointed. The veal parmesan was way overcooked and was probably a poor piece of meat to begin with. The Caesar Salad had zero flavor. I could taste the cheese and that was it. The garlic bread was fine. Our waitress was pleasant but service was slow due to lots of customers.
It was the most disgusting poor excuse for an Italian restaurant. My adult daughter saw it on tik tok and knows that since I am Italian and I love Italian food she suggested that my husband and I try it out. The main "sell" was cheap wine". When we entered the girls were off standish and not very welcoming. The seating was tight and extremely close to people where you have to squeeze between tables. My husband ordered a basic sandwich the menu said "deli meat" not what kind of meat it actually was... and it had no mention of mayonnaise. Since people DO have egg allergies we did not think to mention that we did not want any mayo on a sandwich that did not mention that it had mayo on the menu. When we received it he told the waitress and she acted like we were wrong that the menu did say mayo... she read it...there in front of us (so rude and awkward) with another waitress that acted like they wanted to POINT it out to us but it did not say mayo and then they seemed irritated that we asked for it to be made correctly. So finally we got the sandwich and the meat was hot but the bread was cold...it was horrible. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo linguine. It was disgusting. It smelled fishy GROSSSS Fresh shrimp should not smell strongly fishy; a mild, slightly salty ocean scent is what you should expect from fresh shrimp, and a strong fishy odor indicates that it has gone bad and should not be eaten. The Alfredo was curdled the cream has separated from the butter fat, resulting in a grainy, broken sauce, (you can see it in the pic I am going to post) usually caused by cooking at too high a heat or adding the cream too quickly. The entire meal was so disgusting I cannot even understand why people enjoy going there. Maybe the cheap wine. There were no Italian owners or cooks which doesn't even really mean anything because these are quality issues not cultural issues. But please stop posting that this place is authentic because it just is not. It was a little pricey considering it was slopped together rotten spoiled food. The "garlic bread" was burnt on a grill with burnt marks all over it, dry and tasted like cheap margarine instead of butter. It was definitely stale. It was during the holidays and I was so worried I was going to get food poisoning and by the way the waitresses were acting with the mayo argument we did not eat the food, we just paid and left. They looked like if we said something they were going to be insulting to us like we were trying to get a free meal or something crazy to divert the fact they serve rotten food. Sargrosssso that is what we call it. Spread the news I am not eating rotten food neither should you.
If you’re looking for authentic Italian food, this is not the place. We ordered lasagna, penne, and a pizza. Every single dish tastes like frozen food that was microwaved, it comes to the table very hot but completely flavorless. The penne and lasagna are at least somewhat edible, but the pizza tastes exactly like a $5 frozen pizza from the supermarket. Don’t waste your money on this restaurant. The food is bland and tasteless.
