Went to jalapeños for the first time since I was passing by and I don’t regret my decision. The alpastor tacos are boommb! Hands down! Shout out to Miguel the taquero guy (I think that’s his name) this guy is a master at making tacos!
happened to be near Jalapenos yesterday and stopped in. they did a refresh of the space, it looks great. Staff was very helpful with my order and also at the salsa bar. Ordered Carnitas Nacho's... they were the BEST Carnitas Nacho's every!!! well done, who every made the Carnitas yesterday did a spectacular job. keep up the good work.
Used to go all the time then stopped going as food quality dropped. 5 years later decided to try it again had the the best al pastor tacos just like when i first started going there. As long as the tacos stay like this ivwill be going probably at least 4x a month
The food was delicious! Will definitely go back to try their Menudo. The store looks like its getting remodeled.
This is the best taco spot in all of OC. The food is so authentic, fresh, and consistent every single time. I swear my sister and I eat here every week. If you’re vegan they do potato tacos!!! And they’re bomb! I get them every time I come. Their salsa and chips also make the experience because the salsa is so good—that I compare it to every other salsa that I eat now. I love this place, I’ve grown up going here and it’ll always be a staple Mexican food spot for my fam and I. If you haven’t tried them yet, you MUST!!! you’ll be blown away 😍
Update....still the best. Back again...five stars is not enough. Had the crispy beef taco and enchilada plate and it was so good. Visiting my hometown all the way from Tx, have to have carne asada taco and cheese enchilada plate. Perfection as always.
A true Tustin landmark and staple in the community. One of the best Mexican food restaurants in orange county. A family owned and operated restaurant with top notch Mexican cuisine. I highly reccomend this place. If you are passing through the area or just craving Mexican food done traditional and right, then come to Jalepanõs in Tustin!
This is a solid 4 star restaurant. I had the nachos and my husband had the carnitas plate. Both were good. The nachos were a little messy so keep that in mind when ordering. Mild salsa was basically blended tomatoes, but my husband said the spicier ones were okay. Overall I might come again if I was in the area but wouldn't go out of my way.
This place has been a staple for tustin. Fantastic food, friendly staff, very clean restaurant. Great breakfast. Awesome lunch specials, they even do fundraising!
Food is better than avg with good service and a salsa bar. Chips only 50 cents unbeatable. (Update:Dec 2022) Pre packed condiments now, Chips are now 1 dollar. Medium drink 2.35 Asada burrito 9.75 Asada plate 11.95. I like the wet burritos here but if u dont mind the cheese i order the burrito and then jus throw some of their green sauce on top 👌
Locally owned Quick service (not fast food) casual mexican chain that serves up all the usual choices with your choice of meats, cheese, fish, etc. Great food for the price. This isn't fine dining, but it more than does the job when you're looking for something a step above fast food.
I love jalapeños, and I have been going with my family for years. This is the first time I’ve had a negative experience. I got the crispy Carne Asada tacos and the hardshell tacos taste like they were fried in very rancid oil. Hard to eat.
Enchiladas were cold. Not very tasty but service was good. Maybe an off day.
Cool place. The have the meat and everything out for you to see which is nice. Massive selection of food items. I got the Chiliquiles, which were good but did lack flavor. The portion they gave me was MASSIVE! I'll probably still go back and try more. Also the employees were super friendly.
If something is wrong with your order don’t bother bringing it to their attention the only thing they care about is money don’t matter how far you drive I’m am not satisfied with their customer service
Cashier is more interested in socializing with her coworkers than getting your order right!
This is what I like to call gringo food. And I’m a gringo! The Carnitas and El Pastor combo burrito was not only greasy, but the meat was unseasoned and bland. Both salsas weren’t spicy at all and also bland. At least have one for us with concerning pallets. For $16, I just don’t get it.
Very dissatisfied with my Cali burrito. Smallest burrito I’ve ever had. Won’t be back anytime soon
It’s almost always great but this is a joke!! This is what my big shell taco salad looked like when I got home. Ordered shredded chicken and got chunks of fatty chicken. So sloppy. Honestly disgusting! I should have stuck to the torts (my normal order) don’t have time to go back, I’d hope they’d take care of it but they need to know someone in the back is lacking in regard to their food preparation!!!
I've been coming to this place for 20 years ... today was a disaster. I ordered a asada torta and got the first one made wrong ... 2nd one came and zero apology and burnt like a dead eggo... meat burnt ... limited cheese and lettuce added ... not coming back !
