We're so happy we found Pete's Automotive repair. He is AAA certificated and work's on RVs. Which is what we needed. Communication was excellent. He keep us apprised of progress delays do to part shortages. It's hard to find a good RV repair in Coachella Valley. But Pete's Automotive is the best. Well deserveing of 5 star's.

Our motorhome wheels were making a cyclic rubbing/squealing noise. We were very concerned because we have a 500 mile trip home in just a few days. Pete made room for us to take our RV in. On March I brought my 2007 Ford Expedition with 134000 miles to Ford in Palm Springs for an oil change. I bought the car new and it had always been serviced at Ford. I told the service advisor about a ticking noise from the engine and asked that they take a look at it. I got a call a couple of hours later and was told that the valve train had a problem and it would cost $2100 to repair the valve train, and they suggested replacing the engine for $8400! I was shocked and mad. I talked to Ford Customer Service and they the only thing they could offer was discount on a new car! I looked on line and found that some of these engines had valve train problems, but was still unsure of the problem as the ticking became worse. In April I brought the car to Pete's and later that day he called and told me the problem was a loose spark plug! He replaced the plug and torqued the rest and all is well. I went back to the Ford dealer to complain, and they appologized and did a complete inspection with a retraction of their diagnosis at no charge. THANKS PETE!!

Went in for a smog on my RV and although I was rescheduled to go back because they were busy. After all it turned out to be a positive experience. And I will definitely be referring my friend s to Pete's Automotive.

When my motorhome lost signal lights, brake lights and hazard lights, I visited Petes Automotive and explained my problem. Wayne understood my problem, and assured me they could fix it. I dropped my motorhome off at the appointed time. When I explained I needed it back that day as we were staying in it at an rv park in LaQuinta. I know electrical problems can be difficult to trace and repair, but the people there did themselves proud and returned my unit to me in mid afternoon at a cost that I felt very fair. I would definately use their service again, and highly recommend this company for prompt, courteous and very reasonable service.

Pete has always been a straight up honest guy and his work is the best. If you have anything wrong with your car take it to Pete he'll tell you exactly whats wrong and won't charge you for stuff that he didn't do, like some of the other shops.

Taken my F450 7.3PSD in several times for some major stuff: a big oil leak on top of the engine, and a dripper underneath which turned out to be the rear main bearing seal. Always gotten good work and a professional attitude from them. No problem.

There was a problem with our Class C motorhome when going up steep grades (the engine would 'chug' rather than smoothing going up the hill.). After researching options we took our RV to Pete's and could not be happier with the service, the honesty and the thoroughness of the repair. On our trip back to the west coast of Canada, we encountered many hills and mountain passes and the RV performed beautifully. Pete's Automotive is #1 in our books and when/if we are in the area again, we will use Pete's again if necessary. We have recommended Pete's to all of our family and friends that have RV's and are intending to head to Southern California and the Palm Springs area.

The auto mechanic business is very real. Most of what they charge is the labor, $50 of parts can take $750 in labor. What you're paying for is expertise and care. At Pete's automotive you're getting the best for the best deal. You're gonna need someone who can get the job done right so you can get more out of your vehicle. I know they do a lot of work on classic cars and RVs. I also bought a car I was considering purchasing and they evaluated it potentially saving me thousands. I'll always go back and I hope Pete is around many years into the future

Called Pete about an appointment for an oil change and electrical issue in the steering wheel with our F350. We got an appointment for a couple weeks out, which is actually pretty good this time of year. Arrived for the appointment and Pete was extremely friendly and detailed about the issues with the truck. He provided a quote and the work was done in a couple days. His communication throughout the process was honest and timely. Overall a great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to use this shop again in the future.

As the Desert Computer Tutor and Gadget Queen, I make house calls and cannot work without my car, so I love the fact that Pete's is open Saturday mornings and has shuttle service. Last Saturday morning I went in to get a smog check for my vehicle registration and they put a rush on it so I could make it to my Yoga class on time. It was only $70 and they uploaded the info to the DMV so it was all taken care of when I did my registration on line that afternoon. I Pete from a business networking group and everyone there raves about his service. I get all my service and repairs done there. I completely trust Pete and all his staff. They really listen to your concerns and do everything they can to save you money without compromising quality. One time they found a door replacement handle at an after-market source and it was even already painted. Saved me about $100. I also love the computerized reminder messages about upcoming maintenance requirements and the follow up emails that ask for feedback on the service. This shows Pete's commitment to providing quality service and taking good care of his customers. I feel like he treats me and my car as if I were a member of his family. I love to refer people to him. He and his staff are the best!

I left Pasadena at 8 AM and soon noticed that it was getting hot in my 2017 Cadillac XT5, by the time I got to Palm Springs I knew I wouldn't make it to Tucson. After Googling repair locations and chatting with a couple of shops that could not work on my car due to the new Freon requirements, I was referred to Pete. He said he was very busy but if I brought it in after lunch he would look at it. I was there at 12:15, he put the car in the bay and soon came back with a diagnosis. The thermostat was not working so the engine would not heat up sufficiently to operate the A/C and other components. It soon became apparent that he was not going to get the job done that day. His partner/wife, Letty, recommended a hotel and took us there. They stayed in touch the next day and we got the car back that afternoon. It wasn't cheap but he got us back on the road. Now, I've read some of the complaints by others and I have to say that if I was a local customer and had an appointment but Pete bumped me for a traveler, I might be disappointed, but he did what he thought was right and I applaud him.

Great service! Our RV broke down and was towed to Pete's Automotive. He was backed up with work, but he knew we were stranded, so his team made an assessment within hours. The RV had MAJOR engine problems due to overheating. We decided to sell it rather than fix it due to the age (1991 model) of the RV and the cost to repair it. We kept the RV in his secure area for a few days, while we worked on selling it. His entire staff, which includes his wife and son, were very helpful and professional during the entire process. Again, GREAT service!

I had an air conditioning problem late Saturday. Pete's got me in the following Monday at my convience and since my vehicle is 11 years old suggested i do a full service rather than a temporary fix. Since I was about to go on a trip I opted for full service. They offered to take me wherever I wanted to go and pick me up when the work was done. When they were done my bill was less than the quote. They are a small Mom & Pop business with a big and honest heart. I keep going back and recommend them for all types of service.

My girlfriend and I were driving down from Vancouver, BC, when our truck (with camper ontop) broke down on the highway in 100 degree weather. Realizing we were very far from our next destination (Anaheim), we were able to drop the truck off at their shop for 3 days. Wayne was the salesman who helped us through our travel blip. They gave us rides to the hotel/car rental place. They even kept all of our food from our camper in their fridge for us! They were all so very helpful, and pleasant to deal with. Competitive pricing. They are upfront about costs, if anything over-estimate total cost. All the staff appears to be ASE certified. They have worked on a range of vehicle for me from standard American made gas engine, diesel, to an electric car. They have courtesy shuttle to drop you at work/home, and to pick you up. All work finished ahead of schedule time. Highly recommend.

Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I brought my RV in for repairs and received excellent service. When they found out I was taking a short trip soon they took it upon themselves to top off my fluids and adjust tire pressure. Awesome.

I have to say that Pete’s Automotive was a real lifeline for my wife and myself. My check engine light came on in my 03’ Winnebago Brave as we came down the hill into Thousand Palms. We were in a spot to say the least as it was 3pm on a Friday. After calling Pete’s Automotive, Pete told me that he couldn't get me in however he would at least check to see what the code was so I could find somewhere to go. Once we arrived at Pete’s he did as he said and identified the code however after hearing my sad story, he asked his technician Steve to come take a look at it. Steve was able to make a quick and accurate diagnosis of the issue and get us on the road within 2 ½ hours! Steve and Pete’s automotive were courteous, professional and went above and beyond to assist us in getting us home. I would highly recommend Pete’s Automotive!

Overpriced! Wanted to charge over $5k for a REBUILT engine . I found one for less than $2k. And yes, with a warranty. Reasonable service and friendly staff.

2 Months to fix my van!!! Friendly staff, not knowledgeable (took nearly a week to diagnose the problem despite me calling the week before to make sure they were very experienced with my vehicle as it is somewhat particular), would have charged me 3x more for oil than Autozone Same Brand, Same Weight, everything. When I screenshotted this to show them that their parts price was astronomical instead of correcting their quote they just acted like they couldn't get it any cheaper. And then had the nerve to spam my inbox with an oil change recommendation. I would rate lower, especially if they take issue with this, but I don't believe they did any of this maliciously.

Several trips to Pete's in the last two years. Worried about them the last couple of times. Here is my experience last week: took car in for oil change. Asked for help finding a noise that was driving me nuts. They charged me $68 to find the noise and told me it was the front hub making the sound. It would be $500 to fix it. Also said it needed rear brakes for another $500 so I scheduled it for this week. They also said on the bill that they recommended a new serpentine belt. The next morning when I started the car low and behold the belt was making a awful noise. Can't prove anything but aren't you thinking the same thing I am? Had the brakes fixed somewhere else and they were bad. Had the front hub fixed somewhere else and they said they didn't see anything wrong with the old one and the noise is still there. Don't think I will ever give this place another chance!

I spoke with Steve on a Friday and described the symptoms of my 2013 Dodge Durango. .He said they would need to diagnose. I had the car towed in the next day. I tell Pete the symptoms, he asks me to provide my info and then prints out an estimate of services form. It was $203.00, I whistled in shock. I said that is very high, he starts talking about all the testing they have to do and the time it will take. I asked if it will be credited to the repair...he said no. I call the Dodge dealer. They quoted $145.00 to diagnos and credit the amount to the repair. I had the vehicle towed to the dealer. You decide for yourself what Pete attempted to do. Be weary of Pete!!!

Made zn appt two weeks in advance for front end grill damage. Repairman wouldny6open the hood and said it wouldn't open, yet Jiffy Lube and my brother opened it. He spent one minute with me. I'll never go back

He said he would get it up yesterday and call me in afternoon I dropped in today Car is parked in back He has a lot of excuses..used to be 9 staff now 7. I made my appointment 3 weeks ago. Was referred over by AutoZone. Said they were the most reasonably priced shop. Daytime running lights were burnt out. Said they would have to scan electrical and it would cost 239.00. and that wouldn't be reduced or absorbed if I had them replace the lights Or fix it. Then the gentleman at the first desk then proceeded to tell me they were the most expensive shop in the valley. Either he wanted me to go away or they were too busy to deal with replacing my lights. Went to the dealership and Honda did everything including scan for much less than Pete's Auto scan. Such a turn off. Would not recommend them to anyone.

Said they would have to scan electrical and it would cost 239.00. and that wouldn't be reduced or absorbed if I had them replace the lights Or fix it. Then the gentleman at the first desk then proceeded to tell me they were the most expensive shop in the valley. Either he wanted me to go away or they were too busy to deal with replacing my lights. Went to the dealership and Honda did everything including scan for much less than Pete's Auto scan. Such a turn off. Would not recommend them to anyone.

They used to be great Now too busy and poor attitude My car was there for 2 days and no work was done at all. He said he would get it up yesterday and call me in afternoon I dropped in today Car is parked in back He has a lot of excuses..used to be 9 staff now 7. I made my appointment 3 weeks ago. He told me to take it elsewhere if I wasn’t happy. He used to be so good but now too busy and seems to care less. I hear Lou’s auto body on Perez is good. Bye Pete Sorry you changed so much
