Tip: The chips are served with a carafe of salsa, and the fajitas are highly recommended. If you don't like chili powder on your chips, ask for plain ones.

Love this place and highly recommended the fajitas. The chips are crispy and are served with your own carafe of salsa. The wait time is usually quick and the food is piping hot!
First time eating here and we were impressed. The food was delicious. Service was wonderful. Jorge was very friendly and attentive. Will definitely be returning.
The best Tex-Mex in East Texas! The food was prepared quickly and tasted delicious. The owners and staff were extremely welcoming and polite. Their chips and queso are unmatched. Nothing like them around.
Very good Tex-Mex food. Service was excellent. Restaurant appeared to be very well run. The hostess was exceptionally good at her job, as was the wait staff. We will be returning often.
I had such a great experience at Papacitas in Tyler last Wednesday! From the moment I walked in, the host, Kenley, greeted me with the sweetest attitude and made me feel so welcome. My server was quick, on point, and super friendly the entire time. I ordered the fajitas and they were absolutely fantastic - full of flavor and perfectly cooked, compliments to the cooks! Between the delicious food and the amazing service, I'll definitely be coming back!
Loved it! The service was great, several people welcomed us including direct eye contact and a smile, which is unusual these days. The atmosphere was great, I loved the big wooden beams and unique colorful decorations. The food was tasty and reasonably priced, I had the lunch beef fajitas and my date had the enchilada plate. 5 stars all around!
I visited during lunch Wednesday around 1 o lock I believe the hostess was so kind and polite she made my day, the young man assisting her was very nice as well. My waitress Jenine was super friendly and helpful. My food was to die for I am vegan and ordered the vegetable fajitas for anyone who is vegan as well they were the best fajitas I’ve ever eaten with peppers, onions, zucchini and squash. I am excited to return with my family.
We did a girl’s trip from Dallas and had found this absolute gem randomly on Google Maps! We got amazingly seasoned chips and salsa a few minutes after being seated. The place was also hustling and bustling for a Wednesday evening! The carne asada and pescado pacifica were cooked to the perfect moisture level. The portions were gigantic! We ordered a half order of fajita nachos too and it was huge! Hands down favorite food spot in Tyler
We had a large group (15) on a Sunday after church. We called ahead and were seated quickly. The server was amazing. I wish I'd gotten her name. The food came out fast, every order was correct (how often does THAT happen?!?), and it was hot & delicious! The rating on the atmosphere was only because it was too warm in there & the parking spaces in the front are very narrow (even my Mustang was a tight fit) with not much room to back out. I highly recommend Papacita's!
First time here. Came in on a Monday night a little after 7. Service was quick! Got chips and salsa seconds after we sat down. Our drink order was fast. Never had an empty glass! The food was hot and fresh. Tasted good. Great price. Will definitely be back! Love supporting local businesses ❤️
We had the best time & the food was absolutely AMAZING! Everyone was very knowledgeable about gluten-free & took extra special care with my food! I had the combo fajita (steak & chicken) nachos! And the chips & salsa are gluten-free as well! Janie & Rodrigo were the sweetest, funniest & best servers ever! If we are back in the area we will definitely visit them again!
The only reason for my 4 star rating is the water tasted a bit off, could be of no fault of their own, but it also affects the taste of the sodas as well. The food is great, the margaritas are great, we had absolutely wonderful service.
The steak fajita I had was far better than the ribeye I had at Saltgrass Steakhouse in Tyler. Was part of a group function how about 20 people the service was really good for one and a half waitstaff.
Overall this place was fine to good. The app platter was very dry with several items being just meat in a fried tortilla and then they charged me $2 for extra sour cream. We didn’t expect my partners giant burrito to be smothered in cheese sauce but the meat inside was very nice. Staff were nice and salsa was good.
Was seated right next to waiters area. Annoyed to have to listen to their complaints and foolishness! My fork had dried food still attached but not waiters fault. My. Waiter was very good. Food was good. Old restaurant needs some updates.
The food and service was very good. In my opinion, better than most of the Mexican Restaurants in town. Atmosphere is on par for a Mexican Restaurant. We never had to ask for a thing. Server checked in often and kept our drinks filled. Wife had summer special and I had chile relleno. We will be returning.
Well….that’s was definitely food. Just to start. I’m not sure what they feel the need to add some type of spice/ flavor to the chips. More than likely to make up for the bland salsa. It’s pretty much Pace picante. I ordered fajita nachos. The chips get really soggy. On a positive note the beef fajitas had great flavor. A little tough, but about what expect for the price you pay. If I return I would 100% try a fajita plate. Service was friendly and my waiter did a great job.
This restaurant was clean and friendly. Our waitress was pleasant but could use some refinement as a server. The food was okay I was disappointed in the consistency between Longviews location and yours. Most every chance I get I will choose Papacita's to dine.. Several things were different that I personally didn't like, such as no diet Pepsi, tortillas, chips, salsa and portions. If this review was helpful please like it.
Service was good food was way too pricey. On top of that rice was either undercooked or old . Beans were not great all in all thumbs down. Two upsides Melissa was very prompt and beer was cold ..
The Queso is yummy but, it's a yellow Queso with no options of a white queso this was disappointing as I love white. The chips were covered in raw chili powder, which I'm sure is loved by the locals it was not for me personally. P.S. You have to ask them for plain chips, we were not given an option. Their guacuamole is okay but it has big chunks of tomato which is not a fave of mine. Their salsa was good with great flavor but again the big chunks of tomato. The fluffy tacos werw over stuffed and the meat is not drained and the grease runs down your hand and super salty. Their beans and rice are bland so just add salt to everything and you will be good. so overall I give them 2 stars. It was super hot in the restaurant. The food is edible if you're in a pinch but I would not recommend their restaurant to anyone.
Food was mediocre at best over priced and added a 25 percent service fee. for 4 adults and 2 kids charged 26.00 for a bowl of caso never will go back dont waist time or money on that place
The take out food we ordered was cold, stale and had no flavor. The enchilada shell was hard as a rock and the chips tasted like they were made last week. My uncle has been going to this place for years and he was appalled at how bad the food was tonight. I'll never go back.
Hot sauce was horrible, taste like ketchup with tobasco sauce.... Tortillas straight off the shelf... Service was very slow.. Margaritas were good
