This has to be the best pasta dish ive had in Italy. The pasta, i assume, is freshly made and was al dente and had a good chew to it. The mussels were packed with a meat/rice? stuffing, fully absorbed the tomato stew flavours. The most interesting one was the circular rolled pasta with different sauces. I've never tried something like this before and it was a pleasant surprise.

I went here three times in a two night trip it was so nice lol. I had nighttime gelato and there was no wait. I came here for breakfast twice and was happy with the cappuccino and brioche. The brioche alla crema is lemon cream. The view is great if you eat on the patio.

This is probably the most touristic bar restaurant of Monterosso, it has the best view that you can enjoy while you eating, just before the ferry come and pick you up to take as Le you home. It is full of tourist but I don my mind, as the food is good and the atmosphere also. You are on holiday after all so even if crowded, who care. Monterosso is such a nice place. You cannot expect top service and cheap dishes when I’d do busy like summer. I have been back here several times

We got to Monterosso before the beach opened and waited in line, were able to get 2 beds in the 2nd row with an umbrella, I think it was $50. We enjoyed the beach very much, you should wear flip flops or water shoes because the pebbles get very very hot! We got greek salad and focaccia to go for lunch from the bar, it was great. Before taking the train to another town, we had spritz on their deck. Beautiful views!

The best view you’ll have at the beach here. If you want a “prime” seat, you’ll need to get there early (they open at 9AM). Their prices are in line with every other lido. Food wise - it’s not anything to rave home about but if you want a fresh, beachside snack or meal, it hits the spot. The prices are fair and the service is also fair - they’re packed all day and do a great job of serving with quality and efficiency. There may be better restaurants if you aren’t spending your time at the beach, but I can tell you that we checked out the surrounding options and they are the best place by far.

Saw lots of reviews about having a rude staff but I don’t think they were rude, they were busy. She refilled my bread basket once I finished it while waiting for my food without being asked. The place was clean and the view is wonderful plus they have a really clean toilet. The food was quite good to be honest portions were generous and price was very reasonable. The waitress didn’t expect to receive a tip but having enjoyed the experience I feel obliged to.

Such an amazing place. Wish we had spent much much more time here. Bluest water I’ve seen in a long time. Clear. And super refreshing. 3 euro beers were very reasonable. And you can take them right out on to the beach. Friendly people working here too.

Una bella terrazza sul mare, ventilata e all'ombra. Tempi di attesa brevi, piatti arrivati con un po' di tempo tra loro, ma normale con quel numero di coperti. Cibo buono e abbondante

Più un bar che un ristorante, ma siamo rimasti comunque soddisfatti. La terrazza affaccia direttamente sul mare e per il tramonto è spettacolare. Le cameriere non proprio esperte, ma niente di cui lamentarsi. I tempi di attesa non sono lunghissimi e ci sono tanti piatti tipici liguri da poter assaggiare. Per quel che abbiamo mangiato noi, tutto buono e ben condito. Una bella nota positiva è che i prezzi sono più bassi rispetto a tutti gli altri ristoranti a Riomaggiore, perfetto per chi non vuole spendere chissà quale cifra e gustare comunque piatti tipici.

Abbiamo mangiato a pranzo. Antipasto acciughe al limone e muscoli ripieni. Primo trofie al pesto e tris di testaroli. Il tutto molto buono. L'unica pecca è stato il vino bianco della casa che non era il massimo. Personale gentile e cordiale. Il panorama sulla spiaggia a dir poco fantastico.

siamo arrivati verso le 19, il posto era quasi tutto pieno , nonostante questo la cameriera ci ha accolto con molto garbo e ha preso quasi subito l'ordinazione . abbiamo preso 2 aperitivi e siamo rimasti molto contenti perché come spritz avevano anche hugo con il liquore saint germain, che non troviamo da tutte le parti. per il bambino abbiamo preso una bella coppa gelato e siamo rimasti molto contenti perché l' aperitivo è stato accompagnato anche da qualche stuzzichino e la coppa gelato del bambino era veramente piena di fragole e mirtilli con sopra un buon gelato . siamo rimasti molto contenti del nostro aperitivo / merenda. la vista mare di monterosso è davvero stupenda e i prezzi sono nella norma. il posto non è super lusso ma curato e carino, e per un aperitivo dopo una giornata al mare è perfetto. quindi lo consiglio a tutti

Bellissima terrazza sul mare con una vista unica adatta per aperitivi e spuntini. Ottimi cocktail ma ciò che viene dato insieme all'aperitivo è davvero molto minimo( un scodellino grande come un portauovo di olive , uno di taralli...quindi 4, uno di patatine e l'altro di noccioline x 4 persone🙄), insomma un aperitivo old style, tant'è che se intendete fare un aperitivo che vi risolva anche il dopo cena consiglio di integrarlo con qualche piattino proposto nelle scelte. Sarebbe anche un bel luogo x i dopo cena ma chiude molto presto ( 22.30 a volte pure prima). Consiglio di provare il gelato che è buonissimo e l'erbazzone.

If you’re not in a rush, it’s a great spot to pause, cool off, and soak in the Monterosso vibe. Definitely worth a stop, especially if you’re exploring the promenade or waiting for the ferry.

I wasn't expecting much given the previous reviews, but we had a good experience - would give 4.5 if I could. Anybody giving a 1 star review needs to have a good look at themselves. It's not the Savoy Grill, it's a tourist place, in a tourist town, and you are not as special as you think you are. Very busy but fresh food, served quickly, and with good humour, at perfectly reasonable prices. The location adds to it, just beautiful.

Best views of Monterosso for a good price! 💫🙏🏼 Service is not bad at all and the food was really tasty! We had Pasta pesto, Pasta of the day, Caprese sallad, theee types of bruschetta, one coke and one cappuccino. For ~60 EUR. Only dissappointment where the portion- sacks of olive oil, balsamico and salt.But hey, who cares when the view is breath taking and you left not hungry anymore 😍! ❤️

The restaurant is pretty crowded and you might have to wait for a seat if it's a peak time. Very nice variety of sea food. Stuffed mussels are a must try. Friendly staff and good service.

We ordered pasta arrabiata and pasta pomodoro and both were good, though the arrabiata was certainly a bit better. We also ordered bruschetta and it was delicious. The panna cotta is also very very good. The view is beautiful. Service was good, though they did not let us switch to a better seat after sitting down.

La Terrazza Cigolini è per chi va a Monterosso una tappa d’obbligo. La è principalmente per me , per il momento della colazione, quei 10 minuti di felicità, quei 10 minuti dove stacco da ogni pensiero è dal tavolo in terrazza lo sguardo si perde guardando il mare. Il personale è efficiente e cordiale, hanno buone proposte per colazione sia dolce che salato e la focaccia è molto buona. Non ho mai pranzato ma l’aperitivo pre serale in terrazza con le bruschette è davvero sfizioso. Cocktail buonissimi. Nota molto dolente, l’ambiente. Da 35 anni non è stato mai ammodernato. Neppure dalla “nuova” gestione Piccoli lavoretti qui e la, piccole aggiunte e rappezzi fatti in modo avaro economizzando. L’edificio dispone di una doppia terrazza tenuta chiusa da 30 anni, dove dagli anni ‘70 ai primi anni ‘90 in molte serate estive si poteva ballare. Se utilizzata oggi sarebbe un PLUS per il locale Oggi si potrebbe dedicare quello spazio con divanetti e pergolato per gli aperitivi e cocktail dopocena . Ma manca iniziativa e imprenditorialità anche di questa ultima gestione, molto presa a guadagnare senza però investire anche in quello che a che vedere con l’accoglienza e e servizi ai clienti. Tutto il locale compresi gli arredi e le pavimentazioni hanno bisogno di una SVECCHIATA, di essere ristrutturata la struttura e tutto quello che riguarda la terrazza e l’interno di essere rinnovato Dispiace vedere che anche la nuova gestione non Investe sulla propria attività. Investire vuol dire anche rispettare il cliente, accoglierlo e farlo sentire accolto. Vuol dire anche pensare ad avere un format di lavoro e non soltanto vendere cose per guadagnarci perché la gente con la vista mare viene lo stesso ! Il cliente sceglie, oggi siete ancora uno dei miei luoghi felice a Monterosso, ma vorrei vedere uno sforzo in più; nutro la speranza di tornare nella stagione estiva 2026 e vedere un locale ammodernato e rinnovato.

La Terrazza Cigolini enjoys a wonderful location with a magnificent view. However, my dining experience was marred by subpar service. Our waitress seemed a bit rude and impatient in her interactions with us, which detracted from the overall experience. The food, mainly appetizers, was good. They served tasty small bites that complemented the atmosphere and view. The cocktails were also enjoyable and generously portioned. Overall, it's a nice place with great potential, especially given its location and the quality of the food and drinks. However, the service definitely needs improvement to match the standard expected for such a venue.

Right on the beach as you arrive in Monterosso. We had to wait in line for 20-30 min, but it was worth it for the view! Food was ok, and price was a great value. We got octopus with potatoes and Caprese salad on crostini. It was a really hot day and outdoor seating was warm but I really enjoyed the view and the sound of waves while dining.

The view in this place is amazing. Sticker with the meat board and drinks and you will be fine. We ordered four other dishes that lacked flavor and the normal amazing taste of Italy.

Expensive tourist trap spot with the cool view to draw you in. Portions are small and food is not very good. Service was poor and they tried to charge for the olive oil packet for the cold bread they gave us. Would not recommend and would suggest to dine elsewhere. The Frappe milkshakes were good, however.

Non è mai capitato che dopo aver ordinato e assaggiato le prime portate sono andato via annullando altri ordini, da cosa vogliamo cominciare ? Qualità pessima , il polpo insapore , sicuramente non un prodotto fresco come si può vedere dal colore in foto , antipasti misti e ci sono 3 volte le acciughe sicuramente tutti prodotti già pronti , frutta e pomodorini messi a caso senza senso , vi do un consiglio chiudete la cucina dedicatevi ad altro non è cosa vostra .

Esperienza molto deludente. Durante la nostra visita siamo stati serviti da una cameriera bionda di nome Anna. Purtroppo dobbiamo segnalare un comportamento poco professionale: è stata scortese fin dall’inizio, rispondeva in modo sbrigativo alle nostre domande e non mostrava alcuna disponibilità. Il momento peggiore è stato quando, di fronte a una nostra semplice richiesta, ha reagito ridendoci in faccia con atteggiamento sarcastico. Un servizio del genere rovina l’esperienza complessiva, ed è un peccato, perché il locale ha del potenziale. Ci auguriamo che la gestione intervenga per migliorare l’accoglienza verso i clienti.

SCENA INCREDIBILE!!! Primo giorno a Monterosso, in attesa per il gelato, dietro il banco una signora sgarbata ci indica con voce autoritaria e dito puntato che la fila è sulla destra, dietro di noi NESSUNO, una signora in attesa davanti a noi fa notare il modo inappropriato di rivolgersi al cliente e la gelataia batte il pugno sul banco dicendo “questa è casa mia e faccio come mi pare”; non serve la signora davanti a noi e chiede a noi cosa vogliamo… era da scappare, prendiamo il gelato che era privo di sapore, peggio di quello confezionato! I am a girl from Spain traveling with my partner through Monterosso al Mare. While he was swimming in the sea, I just wanted to sit for a while on the terrace of this place (which was completely empty) and order a simple bottle of water while waiting for him. When I asked if I could do so, the staff answered in a very rude way, telling me that if I was only going to order water, I could not sit there and that I should leave. I want to emphasize that I was polite and respectful at all times; I never raised my voice or spoke badly. I simply asked for water, and from that moment on their response was extremely unpleasant, basically telling me straight away: “if you’re only going to order that, leave.” What surprised me even more was that in the gelateria section of the same place (with just two small tables), they also did not allow me to sit unless I ordered ice cream. And again, the staff there was equally unfriendly. We tried the gelato and honestly, it was not worth it at all — there are plenty of better places in the village to eat and enjoy a much nicer ice cream. If I ever return to Monterosso in the future, this is definitely not a place I would go back to, and I do not recommend it to anyone. Not only because of the food or the gelato, which were nothing special, but above all because of the extremely poor and inhospitable customer service. In such a beautiful and touristic village, having an experience like this is truly disappointing.

I was late in reaching Monterosso and this place was open. I reached at 9 30 PM and it clearly said on the main entrance, the kitchen is open till 12 AM (images attached). I over ordered keeping this in mind, but at 9.30 itself, I was told the kitchen would close in 2 mins. This was strange but I let it go. At 10.30 PM, with almost half the food and drinks left on the table, I was told the place would shut in 10 mins. So we finished our drinks and had to leave a lot of food. Very misleading, food wasn't great either. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are very good alternatives in this beautiful town.
