Since Sonida has taken the helm, the care and compassion towards the residents has improved exponentially. They listen and the compliance number is just a phone call away.
The Sonida team are wonderful to work with and excellent partners!
Such a wonderful company!
Visit the facility for a family member staff was great able to answer all my questions and was very pleasant looking forward to moving my family in.

The Waterford.. When your mom is clearly not getting the proper care and gets a fairly good size bruise on her cheek. What on earth! Always have to hunt down staff. Zero cameras as I know of in the common areas. These poor people go from room to room and yes, you can't blame them as they do not know what they are doing. Absolutely shameful!

My mom stayed in the facility located in las colinas Tx. My mom moved out in July and we still haven’t received a bill and they deducted 1000 out of her account. We have left messages at the building and corporate with no answer. Would not recommend this place
I echo the comments below from Michelle!!! The exact same feedback for my mother who has been at The Waterford in Plano for 2 years.
My mother has been a resident of The Waterford in Plano Tx for 3 years. The food has become inedible, there is constant kitchen staff turnover, the residents aren’t nice they act like 7th graders, the front desk staff has literally made her move from a table during dinner, they don’t call her if there is a package at the front desk, there has been front desk turnover multiple times, she has been told there isn’t any more food at dinner and handed a hamburger. Her rent for a one bedroom apartment has gone up $644 over the three year period. The apartment itself is sad and worn out, peeling paint, barely working window units that leak in a thunderstorm, hot water that doesn’t adjust. Now that she has given her notice they won’t pro-rate the rent since she will only be there a partial month and won’t return her phone calls. I can’t find a number to call the corporate office to talk to anyone about this issue. It has not been a good experience and it’s costing her quite a bit of money to move. Buyer beware.
I 8/9/2021 Jean Brown from corporate headquarters reached out to me today following up on our previous conversation of about 2 weeks ago. She is working hard to resolve the mistake made by the NJ facility. I truly appreciate her efforts in trying to come to a resolution. I am the power of attorney for my aunt. She was a resident at their facility in Summit.NJ for over 2 years. If I could give a zero star I would. If you value your loved ones belongings do not use this horrible establishment. My aunt's antique bed went missing after being placed in a hospice bed. I reached out to Kelly, the assistant to the CEO at corporate headquarters in Texas. She said she's look into the matter and get back to me,which she never did, won't even return my telephone calls. This is not what you'd expect from a facility you've paid almost $6,000 a month to. Shame on them.
Just one problem after the other! Would not recommend to anyone! Very incompetent people. My mom was a resident at North Pointe in Anderson SC. Absolutely would think twice before I place a loved one there again! If you want to experience the best Barnum and Bailey Circus, you should pay them a visit. Website needs updating! Most pictures are very outdated and the resident reviews, should be current residents! Place needs lots of attention!!
This company puts you off continuously. I have been lied to multiple times about a refund for missing, broken, taken things. I have written validation that I am to get my money. The phones hardly ever work—left to ring till they hang up (wonder why?? Hmmm) and HR is all about avoidance. I will delete this review if someone contacts me to resolve but just know that if they can’t do what’s right from a simple issue that’s their fault… what else is being hidden? Why would you want your loved ones in a place like that that embraces such untrust? Waiting on my money and a response… the clock is ticking and I’m NOT letting this go. UPDATE: Reached out many times via the phone number listed and email only to continue to be ignored. They are using a secret unpublished number and sending everyone to this unchecked number that now has no receptionist. It’s a black hole. DON’T TRUST THIS COMPANY!!!! They won’t return email or calls. HR is terrible and blatantly lies. Has all my information already. Simply deal with this matter that’s YOUR FAULT!!! I will continue till you do and move forward to other outlets to help. Better heed my warning. Do what’s right.
UPDATE: Their original reply of my review on their FB page has been deleted along with my response to it. To be replaced with the same comment CSL has left on my review here. I've reposted it. I deeply regret ever putting my mother in this place. I never received any paperwork on her care treatment plan even though I asked repeatedly. Communication is horrible. Her shower chair disappeared and was never found. How do you lose a shower chair!?! Found a prescription bottle in my mom's bathroom cabinet that did not belong to her nor are they allowed in residents' room. The director, Joanne, response when I spoke with her about it was "oh it's expired." I had home healthcare prior to putting her in this facility. I kept them for a couple of months for the transition. Even though Courtyards was being well compensated for the care of my mother they refused to work together thru the transition period with the home healthcare staff. I discussed this in a meeting with the director and it do absolutely no good. Empty promises. I wasted $350+ on cameras for my mom's room because she begin falling. I informed the director of this. Not once did anyone tell me their internet service is antiquated. Corporate was no help either. So cameras were never used. It's just a numbers game. Fill the rooms. Lynn, the marketing director paints a pretty picture. The low rating is not for the nursing staff but the admin. I can't rate since I have no clue what kind of care she was getting. High turnover rate. They hire poor quality no skills people because they are so short staffed all the time. There were additional issues but these were the more serious issues I experienced. Exercise due diligence. Research the company, not just a location.
Don't try to talk to office personnel. They do not forward calls to the manager or anyone else in the office. Leave your name and number and they will call you......maybe. This has been an issue the entire time my mother was at the Waterford. Very POOR support for the family or residents.
