Very small location and it's communal seating, but the food was great. Started with the Chef choice for the appetizer, good cheese, and pickled veggies. Then I ordered the Chicken over arugula and mushrooms. Great taste and good seasoning om the chicken. Just know the place is crowded but is still worth going for Dinner.

It’s one of the best quality food I tried in Brooklyn.. flavours, ingredients, temperature, hospitality, ambience, prices.. all fits as per italian standards cooking and preparation. We had lunch, soup, salad, cakes with fresh whipped cream and espresso. 10/10 braviii

Went on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch and it was a bit busy but we got seated immediately. The sandwich was delish and offf the bread was perfectly crispy and soft, as well as the pasta, I could see this being nice to share amongst the group. Service was spot on! And the ambiance mixed in really well.

Went there because in Google Maps reviews said it is a kid friendly place. It definitely did not disappointed! Lovely place. A bit crowded, meaning the indoor sitting has a lot if tables and not much space to move around but it is ok because it’s a place where to eat, drink and socialize. No dance floor needed! Just a little heads up on the definition of Kid friendly. Yes, people are nice to you and your kids but if you expect extra special treatment for kids like designated kid menus, those cute coloring kits other family restaurants give when visiting with kids, that will mot be there. So make sure to have something of yours in order to entertain your kids. Waiters were very nice. The bill was surprisingly reasonable too. 10/10 experience.

Awesome spicy marg - think it’s called this and that or something. Escarole salad was so simple but perfect. Sourdough bread was superb. Chicken was juicy with crispy skin and delicious croutons and cucumber and tomato salad. Duck and celeriac puree was also delish. Brussel sprouts were also done just right. Only disappointment was no room to try dessert - will be less gluttonous next time to avoid this.

A cozy neighborhood Italian spot with a warm, rustic charm. The pastas are fresh and beautifully simple, the burrata is a standout, and the cocktails are well-balanced. It’s usually busy, but the atmosphere feels intimate and genuine. Perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends or a quiet date night!

A great neighborhood spot! My boyfriend and I came here on a wednesday evening. It was more crowded than I expected. We were sat immediately but our order was not taken for some time. Once taken though, the food came out very quickly (except for our dessert), well timed for our meal. Everything tasted good! The parsnip purée with the duck was delicious. Though we had to wait a bit for our initial order and dessert, our server was effective and good humored. He comped our dessert because of the wait. Thank you! All in all, Rucola is exactly what you want when you’re out in park slope with friends and family. Cozy atmosphere. Good food. Great service.

Walked in on a Friday & joined the wait list. Definitely waited much longer than we were quoted. However, the food made up for it. Everything we had was delicious and fresh. Chef choice of meat, cheese & veg was creative and balanced. I also especially enjoyed the lumache pasta!

I'd been meaning to try Rucola for quite a while now, and was finally able to check it out. We didn't have a reservation, but fortunately, we didn't have to wait too long as walk-ins. It's a great atmosphere for a date or even just to catch up with a friend, as I was, and the service was excellent. In terms of the main highlight, food, I'd absolutely get everything we ordered again: - Campanelle - ‘Nduja butter, smoked hake, breadcrumbs, Parmigiano - Shells - ramp pesto, fava beans, pine nuts, pecorina (this was absolutely incredible) - Crostino - Tomino, prosciutto, honey, walnuts

This was our second time coming to Rulcola for a birthday celebration. We are never disappointed in the food, the service, or the cozy ambiance. The drinks were very tasty and the food was even better! Definitely have to save room for dessert next time!

What a fun spot to grab drinks and dinner! We came here to celebrate with some friends through a recommendation and it did not disappoint! This place has such a cool ambiance. The drinks were on point and service was outstanding. My only regret is that I don’t live locally, because it would be my Friday night go to. Thanks for a great evening!

Such a lovely spot with amazing food and great service! We were a group of 4 and were sat without a wait at a table outside around 12:30 on a Sunday. We had a few bottles of wine, the country breakfast, French toast, and the pork sandwich, all of which were absolutely delicious, we completely cleared our plates. Food came out a little slow but we weren’t in a hurry. The outside tables give you a view of the beautiful street the restaurant is on. Highly recommend coming here

Got lunch on a Saturday afternoon & was able to get a walk-in with no problem. Got the eggplant sandwich & my friend got the trout entree. The eggplant sandwich was delicious. Think of a lightly fried eggplant / ratatouille ‘patty.’ I really enjoyed it. The trout was also very tender, not dry at all. The tapenade was also a great touch. Would come back here again, albeit a bit cramped for a party of 2 if it gets busy.

Second visit and another incredible dining experience. Had the amazing crudo (again) and let the chef pick the appetizers (see photo). Porchetta was excellent. The service was great - they are so nice there! Third visit had the delicious trout with an olive compote on top. This doesn’t “sound” good at all but it’s an incredible dish. The trout is farmed so theres a lot of tasty meat on the fish. Shell pasta dish was very good. Service slipped a notch as we were pressured to leave despite no one needing our seats. Very Brooklyny place.

This restaurant has a nice, intimate vibe inside. There’s a large table in the middle of the restaurant that’s shared between different parties, and the surrounding tables are fairly close together as well. We even saw some traffic jams of people waiting to be seated and others trying to leave. If this doesn’t bother you then you’ll probably feel nice and cozy. The food was good. The escarole salad might be the highlight here, with the sweet potatoes coming in at second. The rigatoni and chicken was enjoyable as well. The only miss was the broccoli. The sauce included sits on the bottom of the plate, so you kind of have to eat a bit of dry broccoli without much flavor to get there. And when you do get there, it’s not really enough. Overall a good restaurant to try out a few times as they rotate their menu seasonally (I was told)

Very delicious food. Was a little awkward walking in and trying to figure out who the host was or who was gonna seat us. Overall good experience though.

Came here for a quick breakfast sandwich and a cup of breakfast tea. Small and cozy space with friendly staff and service. Really cute. Limited menu and close quarters and a long communal table. It’s a vibe.

The restaurant is very cute, has a lot of charm! There is a communal table in the middle. With smaller two table seating around + a few 4 tables, with additional outdoor seating! We had the bees knees and the rye sage to drink, with the pesto pasta, trout, and fingerling potatoes. The pasta was very good. The trout lacked flavor but the olive tapenade it comes with made up for it. The potato’s are a traditional smashed fingerling potatoes with a nice aioli side. We got the blueberry pie to end which was also good - (would ask for it warmed up). Would definitely come back to try more!

The interior and general look of the place is interesting and inviting. My wife had the tuna sandwich which was from a can and dry. For the price it was poor. There is the outside structure and for now is fine, I understand new regulations may change that.

We started with bread and olive oil, which was exceptional and set a high bar for the rest of the meal. The arugula salad followed, it was decent and the portion was generous. Unfortunately, the experience went downhill from there. Despite ordering our mains at the start, there was a long delay after the salad. When the main dishes finally arrived, they were somewhat disappointing. The fish was flavorless essentially just olive and fish with no seasoning and the Bolognese had a strange aroma that didn't fit the dish. While the bread was a highlight, the rest of the meal (including the mediocre wine) means I won't be returning.. but I honestly really loved the bread…

Very unfortunately, went here for a date night on a busy Tuesday night. Our waiter basically ignored us. Didn’t really care that we didn’t have drinks and was not attentive when food was delayed. The manager ended up being very nice and removing things from our bill, but it was not worth the terrible service on a date night where we just wanted to enjoy ourselves. There are too many other restaurants in New York with excellent service.

First thing when you walk into the restaurant, you can’t even locate the host. When the host finally decided to show up after 10 minutes, he was not jotting names down. He claimed he tracks ppl by their face. He was extremely rude and told us to leave the place when we asked for the status of the table that the host promised to give us. He said he can give us the table if he feels like to and he can deny us service if he wants. Would never go back there.

We have been coming here for years, over the last few months I kept hearing from friends how the food quality went down and they stopped coming, however 4 of us decided to still give it a chance, we came on a Saturday night early enough to put our name down, the host (wearing a beanie, beard and a flannel shirt) on Dec 20th 2025, took my name and said it would be 30 min and he would call us. We went to their sister bar Anais around the corner to get a drink, 40 min later I had a missed call and when I called back it went to a voice mail, so we went back to the restaurant, as we entered we waited good 5 min as the host was on the other side of the restaurant literally just looking at us, none approached us, he deliberately made it a point to not come over and greet the guests, there was a 4 top ready, so we thought ok this would be ours, host finally decides to come our way, while getting breadcrumbs off one of the table first, then he comes and says couple more minutes, I tried to explain to him that we put our name down now an hour ago and that I got a missed call, but he rudely interrupted me and said he never called and straight up walked away! At this point since this is a tiny place we walked outside to wait and all 4 of us decided that we don’t want to spend our money here after being treated like this. There are so many great places in the neighborhood, we are locals, you should treat people nicely, even if busy or you make a mistake, host should have apologized - it would have been a very different story. Rucola used to be cozy with great service and food, now it just is busy, food got worse and service is rude. 4 of us are joining other friends in the neighborhood to sadly never come back.
