Avis sur Milo Waco
We were in town visiting The Silos and needed a place for lunch. Milo’s was a short walk from The Silos. The atmosphere was very cute and they had lots of plants that they used for decor. We ate inside but they offer outside seating, as well. Our server was great! Super friendly and helpful. Our food arrived very quickly. It was freshly cooked and very good. My potatoes were a tad overcooked but I didn’ t mind them that way. Nice option instead of the food trucks at Magnolia Market.
The menu choices change with the seasons. I ordered fries and a burger with iced tea and knew I would be back; it was so good. The restaurant had a comfortable atmosphere and friendly. My server was very knowledgeable. I'm looking forward to their menu for the upcoming season.
One of the cozy, delicious, affordable fine dining restaurants in the city of Waco that I enjoyed visiting with my family. 👨👩👧👦😋 The staff were extra kind; they treated us with respect and honored our dietary restrictions. 🙏🥗 The food was healthy, with natural ingredients. 🍎🥦 They have kids menu and they provided coloring pages for the kids. Overall I loved this experiance and I will absolutely comeback again.
I like what they are doing here in Waco. Clean and bright interior, fun atmosphere with 2010s alt rock playing in the background. Creative farm to table menu. Nashville hot chicken tacos were a hit in my book, amazing flavor, balanced. Servers seemed over booked. Granted it was busy. maybe they need more help? All in all I will be back to try out their other menu items!
Great space with very nice modern finishes and the patio was very comfortable to sit at. Parking was very limited but parked down the street and it was not far. Carnitas hash and the Nashville hot tacos were all really good choices. Highly recommend the pumpkin spice espresso martinis.
A great breakfast stop in Waco. Food was fresh and tasty. The portions are a bit smaller but they are priced well for their size. The farmer’s daughter was a smash for our group. Drinks looked delicious but we didn’t try them because it was still morning and we aren’t THAT dependent. But still worth considering…
Stopped in for a quick bite with some friends! Loved the open concept atmosphere for seating. If you are someone who enjoys the patio regardless of the weather- there is a place for you here. The space is well covered and provides the perfect protection during the summer heat. Started with the cast iron cornbread- delicious! If you are someone who enjoys a little kick with their meal, the hot chicken tacos will be perfect for you! If you are looking for something sweet but relatively light- the French toast was very nice! Service was great. Bathrooms were clean. It was the perfect place to meet some friends!
If you’re looking for an incredible farm-to-table experience in Waco, look no further than Milo. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, but what really made our visit unforgettable was our server, Kaitlyn. She was phenomenal—every recommendation she made was spot on. The pimento cheese? Absolutely next level. Creamy, flavorful, and the perfect starter. You can tell everything here is made from scratch with fresh ingredients. This is the spot for brunch—no question. Drinks? The Bloody Mary brought the heat, spicy in all the right ways, and the mimosa flight never disappoints. Whether you’re a brunch regular or just passing through, Milo is a must-visit. Can’t wait to go back!
Really enjoyed our trip to Milo today. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Our waitress was very friendly, gave nice recommendations, and brought out water bowls for our dogs. The food came our quickly and was well made. I had the short rib and my wife had the butternut squash risotto. We also had the almost expresso martini and frozen ocean breeze. They all came out very well. The patio is dog friendly.
First time there. Food was OK. Chicken tacos were a little bland. Serving size good. Service was good. The parking is a problem though. They only have about 10 spots that they have to share with another business. I understand there isn't anything they can do about it. They are in an urban environment and they are locked in. Not their fault. Just be prepared to park down the street. Another interesting thing is the rest rooms. It's almost a shared experience. There isn't a separate mens and women's. There are 2 private toilets with a common wash area. Nothing wrong with that. I just haven't experience that before. Anyway it's a fairly spacious place and they do get business. I notice a fairly young crowd. Also it looks like they have a separate party room, which is nice.
This was my second visit to Milo and I love the farm to table mission and ambiance! Even though they advertise the brussels as crispy, ours were severely overcooked which made them unenjoyable. They also came out suspiciously fast but weren’t overly hot which made them feel like maybe they were old? The lemon chicken bowl was really good; the chicken was super juicy and all of the flavors worked well together. My friend ordered the egg white frittata and the portion was a bit small, so if you’re hungry you’d definitely need more than just that for your main. It’s weird it doesn’t come with a side of toast, potatoes, or something else.
Pretty good spot! They had half off appetizers and margaritas which allowed us to try s few things! We got the pimento cheese (very good and I enjoyed the homemade crackers), the brussel sprouts were also quite good. my husband got the burger and I ordered the steak lettuce wraps. The burger and fries were very fresh and flavorful. maybe it was supposed to be this way, but the steak for my entree was cooked so much it was crunchy.... The flavor was good, but I found that odd. Fresh ingredients and good service. A relaxed, bright and airy atmosphere! Some entrees seemed smaller, but the appetizers helped fill us up.
We went to Sunday brunch at Milo’s, as it came highly recommended. The place looked great and our service was excellent. The food… it was nothing special. It wasn’t very seasoned and no one in our group went away talking about their food. Between our group we tried about 7 brunch menu items and all of them lacked flavor. It was a good experience but they need to add excitement to their menu execution.
What should have been a wonderful brunch was marred by a menu failure. I do not eat spicy foods with ingredients like jalapeños or the like. Milo’s smashburger would have been a perfect sandwich except for the pickles. The menu says the burger has pickles. What the menu fails to report is that they are tastebud destroying spicy pickles. One bite and I could no longer taste any of my food. It was so unnecessary. Just tell people the whole truth on your menu. No one likes that kind of surprise.
My family and I tried this place for mother’s Day and had a burger with fries that were very good. We also had the salad and some potato skins, which were delicious as well as the ricotta pancake. The food was good, but the drinks were not. We had margaritas served in a whiskey glass, which was very strange and very small portion for the amount that they charge and a bloody Mary in a tom collins glass. Again very strange but ok taste. And to top it all off, they were out of the drink that my wife wanted for Mother’s Day by 11 AM in the morning so it was a bit disappointing.
We had an exceptionally bad experience getting seated, even though we had a reservation for four. We arrived on time for our reservation on a Monday night and were seated at the table nearest the restrooms, even though the restaurant was about one quarter occupied. When we asked if we could move to one of the several available tables for four, we were told we couldn’t do that because they were in another waitperson’s section. After a little courteous discussion (really), they moved us to a table for six next to the front door, where it was darn cold. Oddly, after we were seated, other parties came in and were seated at tables for four people. Overall, I would rate our food at about three stars. The chicken & dumplings were just not chicken & dumplings at all , and didn’t taste very good. The tacos were good. My pork with sweet potato mole was very good, but the mole sauce was cold. The brussels sprouts appetizers were the best I ever had. And the wait staff were also very good. I doubt any of us will go back for dinner. I suggest going to their breakfast and brunch.
The portions were very small. The blackend salmon was tasty but there was virtually no side dish to accommodate. I ordered a salad and the chicken add on was $8 and was 1 small piece (see photo). Overall the salad was also tasty but basically entirely lettuce. They gave us a 25% discount but I gave the money to the waitress as none of the limited portions were her fault.
I was super excited to eat here as I had eaten one time previously and the food was really good but I was immediately sadly disappointed as I had brought my service dog with me and was made to feel very unwelcome as the manager Grant began his interrogation of what service my dog provided. When I proceeded to tell him what the service was he said that’s not a real service when indeed it was.. I ended up acquiescing I didn’t Want to Cause an scene and said I would sit out on the patio. A very nice young man came out to take my order I ordered a simple over easy breakfast with eggs, a biscuit and avocado. I believe it’s called the Buddy Holly. Last time I checked over easy eggs aren’t supposed to be crispy, but that’s what they were. My home fries were cold and the coffee was lukewarm. I didn’t complain though because I didn’t want my food to be tampered with as I was already un trusting of the situation. needless to say, I picked at my food and got the check quickly and left. I will never be coming here again and I definitely wouldn’t recommend anybody to go there either. There’s a lot to be said for treating people with respect and kindness, which is not what you’ll get there at least not from the manager Grant! Silver lining the waiter was very nice.
I ordered to go and was disappointed. I order The Salad which was described as little gem lettuce, sesame sunflower seed crunch and rustic croutons and Campari tomatoes. None of these are actually on what I received. I also had the crab hush puppies which were ok not much crab mostly cornbread and the corn ribs which were pretty good. Do better Milo!
