The most perfect evening on Valentine’s Day at the roof top terrace - beautiful decor and atmosphere! Summer and Saif made us feel so welcome and they brought a bubble happy vibe which made the night so perfect for me and my partner. Very pleased with the service and delicious food! We’ll definitely come back soon :) thank you!!

Having ignored this place for a few years for no particular reason I finally gave the place a try on my latest visit home. To say I was impressed would be an understatement. In the space of a week I came here four times, for drinks and food.A Cuban themed restaurant and bar looking very smart and hitting way above anything else Wakefield has to offer. The drinks, of which I had several margaritas over the different visits, were the best in Wakefield. The food was absolutely gorgeous (great choice of varied dishes). Service was friendly, helpful and professional. Prices were very reasonable considering the quality. I imagine at peak times the place would get very busy so for meals it might be best to book in advance. They also have a terrace bar and also a private dining room in the old vault which doesn't cost any extra but booking advised. They also have live music in the evenings occasionally.I really can't fault this place, it really is one of the best restaurant/bars in Wakefield. Fourth visit... Everything still amazing apart from the margarita I had, not sure the bar person knew how to make it, another member of staff gave her a quick run through but it didn't taste the greatest and the presentation wasn't as good as previous visits. No doubt I'll be back to try again in the future. Fingers crossed. Fifth visit... Food still amazing, service still brilliant (lady with piercings, she was amazing, friendly, helpful and welcoming),the manager still makes a great margarita. Cheers.

I booked a table for 2 upstairs on the terrace for Valentine’s Day and it was perfect. The food was amazing and the service from the 2 hosts Saif and Summer was amazing they kept the vibe up and everybody was having a great time. We will 100% be back

I’ve been twice in the last few weeks and decided to hold off leaving a review until my second visit. The food was absolutely outstanding on both visits. I feel like they’ve taken this place to a different level. Anywhere that can perfectly cook octopus clearly has a chef in the kitchen who knows what he is doing. The service was superb and I can’t see a better restaurant in the locality. Huge improving over the last few years. If this was in Leeds people would be raving about it. Highly highly recommend.

Great lunch time spot. Good selection of tapas dishes all reasonably priced with generous portions. Our waiter, Orlando was friendly, attentive and really made a positive impact to the overall experience. Would definitely come again.

Absolutely perfect time here at Qubana! We had the most lovliest time here today for Sunday lunch. The food was absolutely delicious. Every single item of food we had on the plate was so tasty (individually and together). The prices were spot on. The desserts were so nice and a good range of options. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything better today. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. There was 5 of us today. We sat in a booth and all had something good to say about the whole experience. Well done Wakefield! I am lactose free and the staff were absolutely so kind about everything and worked out what food i could have on the sunday roast (and even gave me extra beef to fill in the fact i couldnt have a yorkshire pudding!). The dessert was not just a sorbet like most places...i was actually able to have a warm choc fudge cake and vegan ice cream. Such a treat. Thank you again. A big thanks to your staff too who were great! We'll be back again x

I love this place. I have been here multiple times and every thing was on the high level. Food is delicious and always served on top level. Service is always nice and friendly specially Magda. She welcomed us with smile and nice chat. She took care of us all evening. Definitely will be back!

Joined our friends for a meal and drinks in the 'Vault' in Qubana tonight to celebrate their anniversary. What a wonderful experience, and enjoyed by all. We got to be in the actual Vault as a private party. The food. The staff and the overall experience was excellent. I personally had the lamb to start. Followed by the Flat Iron steak as a main. It was absolutely perfect. Fantastic food. ALL the staff, and l mean ALL. Were fantastic. Very attentive. Very helpful. Spoke to a lady who l assume was the manager. We all passed on our delight at the food and staff. Thank you for listening. Sorry, we didn't get your name. Or the names of your staff. But you're all appreciated. Whoever cooked our food. Can't fault the service even though they are all 17 years old! The food was great. Tapas Portions are way smaller than I remember them to be, but that was fine, it just meant we ate more of them this time! That said, dessert size was huge! And all very tasty. Lovely place great atmosphere even on a Tuesday night. Recommended :)

Wedding 9.8.2025 Roof terrace was a great venue for an intimate private wedding reception. The waiting staff did a fantastic job getting everybody's orders out to them we had a great selection of food and the bar staff Kai and Jonny were super friendly and looked after us very well from the afternoon into the evening. We all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

I went a few days ago. The staff were all friendly and our host magda made it a great experience. It was my first time but I will be back for sure. The food was great. Service was also great

The staff is always very polite and friendly, which makes the experience even better. I tried several tapas, and they were all absolutely delicious. I will definitely return to try more from the menu!

One of the highlights of my visit wasn’t just the food—it was the chance to speak with the chef. Taking a few minutes out of a busy service, he kindly chatted about his approach in the kitchen and the thinking behind several of the dishes we’d just enjoyed. Hearing directly from the person creating the menu added a whole new dimension to the experience; it’s rare to get such an authentic insight into the craft and passion that goes into each plate. He spoke enthusiastically about how the menu evolves with the seasons, where he sources many of the ingredients, and some of the ideas he’s currently developing for upcoming menus. It was fascinating to hear how dishes begin as simple concepts before being refined and tested in the kitchen. That behind-the-scenes glimpse made the meal feel even more special, turning dinner into a genuinely memorable experience.

We arrived earlier than expected for our table (which we added an extra person to by calling earlier in the day and they sorted this for us) the staff memner front of house was very welcoming and checked to see if our table was ready, it wasn't which was to be expected as we were 30+ minutes early, we had drinks at the bar while we waited (only about 15 minutes before we were told our table was ready). The bar was quite busy however it was 8pm the Saturday after pay day so probably couldn't have picked a more popular time to go! The waitress who served us was polite and kind. The drinks were lovely and brought to the table promptly as was the food which we ordered. Me and another of our party ordered 3 tapas/starter dishes each and a side of fries to share all together, it doesn't look much but the food is so tasty and filling we couldn't finish it all!! Each dish was perfectly prepared and presented. The scallops and mushrooms were my favourite if I had to choose but I really enjoyed them all. The atmosphere and decor is great. On this occasion I didn't go to the terrace upstairs but I have before which is lovely in itself and I believe there is a secret bar downstairs somewhere. Love love love Qubana! A gem for wakefield 💎

Wedding party- 9th August. Finally getting around to writing our review but what a fab time we had! Everything leading up to the day was perfect, strong communication, all decisions led by us and a real excitement was shown from all the team to hold our event. Nothing was too much and we genuinely can’t thank everybody enough. We are so grateful to all the staff that were a part of our day, especially Kai, Johnny, Sophie and Louise for making it absolutely perfect. They were so professional throughout but were still so friendly and had a laugh with us all, making it feel that they genuinely cared to be a part of it. A big thank you also to the owners. You have a beautiful venue and a fantastic team. Qubana has always been one of our favourite places and now it holds even more importance and memories for us. 💕

Me and my partner came in on Saturday for a date night as we had not been in for a while and it has been my favourite restaurant since being 18, staff are always so friendly and welcoming serving us drinks and getting us seated so quickly- Service was perfect and food was delicious as always; Sophie (special mention) was beyond a pleasure to both speak to and receive perfect service from she was amazing, we’ll always come back.

Lovely food, Belle was exceptional. She made our night so special. We will come back again just to see her !!! 🥰

My daughter, Friend and myself had the lunch deal plus desserts. The food was delicious and Kian our waiter was very entertaining to say the least😅.he was very helpful with explaining the dishes and gave us good advice, it is our second visit in as many weeks . The sticky toffee pudding is to die for .

Lovely amotsphere here , drink choice is brilliant and price as you expect, after our main we were forgotten about a little bit but I think because our server changed, the original one was brilliant! Will come again

The family roast was the best surprise ,apparently it's the chefs great idea and it's so great I think it should continue ,.Kai was amazingly polite ,helpful .I have to say in my many years of enjoying Sunday roasts this is the best so far and such great value

Ate here last night and I cannot fault the food. First class and would highly recommend. The service needs alot of work, the young red headed lady that served me seemed pretty irked to even be working there and the General manager (if the tall chap was) when I raised a couple of issues seemed out of his depth. Could be a great place to go but we wouldn't fancy doing a busy Christmas night here if the service last night was anything to go by!

Took my boyfriend for his birthday meal here along with his two friends. Booking was easy. I arrived early and was able to make use of the bar until the table was ready. The bar was out of a couple of things for certain cocktails but that can’t be helped. The table service was incredibly slow. I had to call someone over after about half an hour of all four of us being seated. I kind of expected to have our drinks order taken upon seating us or shortly after but it didn’t happen until I called over a waiter to take our order. The waiter seemed to make a big visual gesture to being busy or flustered by looking back and forth and kind of throwing his arms around. The place wasn’t super busy but maybe they were short staffed or new, what do I know? I just wanted to order. He was apologetic when the food and drinks arrived. Everything arrived as ordered no issues at all there. There was 40% off of food which was a lovely surprise and given that the food was lovely I really felt like I got my moneys worth and more. I would definitely return to the venue for the food and drinks were very good but I’d hope for better service next time. Still, 4 stars in my opinion! Some things just are what they are!

Visited for the Sunday roast (2 course menu option) and drinks. The restaurant has a really funky yet relaxed vibe and the interior and decor is to a very high standard. Staff very welcoming and we were seated without having made a reservation. Ordered the halloumi and wild mushrooms and spinach on sourdough to start and the chicken Sunday roast with all the trimmings and a side of cauliflower cheese. The food was well presented and tasted amazing! I'd also highly recommend the French martini. My only piece of criticism, was the constant hounding to see if we wanted more drinks from multiple wait staff. It became a huge distraction and annoying. Would definitely recommend and the service was fab.

It was on my bucket list to visit since it opened. I had to call to book a table. During the call I stated I would need access for my walking frame and they said it would be fine. When arrived there were a few stairs up to reception and when I was being directed to my table there were a few more stairs. They could see my rollator which is my walking frame and they didn’t give me any other options. My Dad had to help me up the stairs and down again when we had finished. So whether there is any wheelchair access at all or not, I don’t know. I certainly wasn’t offered any. They also add a 10% tip to your bill, so please check for this before you pay. We hadn’t realised it until we got home but we had paid over £8 with this tip, which is more than we would tip normally. The place in general is different from the norm. It has a nice atmosphere and tasty food, but because I use a mobility aid I doubt I will be able to visit this place again because of the stairs.

Extremely busy on a Saturday night when we visited. Very loud too, not sure if this creates "an atmosphere" or not. Service was good considering that there didn't appear to be many waiting staff. Between the four of us we had fifteen dishes, a total of eleven were different. Previous tapas I'd describe as "small plate". Here was more "medium plate", generous portions. The ribs were enormous. Everything was piping hot apart from the lamb chops which were cold, but to be honest we didn't read the description maybe they were meant to be served cold? As with most establishments these days the wine prices are a bit on the heavy side. £31 for a bottle of Malbec? All in all a reasonable night out.

Fantastic service but sadly food let it down. Calamari was only threatened with batter, very chewy with odd texture. Muscles needed a different bowl as didn't find sauce until I nearly finished. Pork belly crackling had no crackle. My wife loved the goat curry and chorizo lollipops but for the money, we felt very let down.

Went for lunch. I chose from the Tri Tapas Menu. My pork dish was tasty but cold and my chicken was also cold and very dry. Service was slow even though the place was practically empty which was surprising for a Friday afternoon. Little disappointed overall 🙁

We primarily ordered seafood dishes during our visit, but unfortunately, the quality was underwhelming this time around. The prawns in the gambas pil pil were overcooked and had a noticeably fishy taste and smell, which was disappointing. Similarly, the mussel dish also had a fishy flavor, and we found bits of broken shell in the sauce, which made the texture quite unpleasant. That said, the sauce itself was absolutely delicious, and the chorizo helped elevate the overall flavor. We also tried the smoked salmon bruschetta, which was fairly average. The steak chimichurri arrived cold, which took away from what could have been a great dish. I’ve dined here before and have had excellent experiences, so I know the restaurant is capable of delivering much better. The atmosphere remains lovely, and the staff were warm and attentive throughout our visit, which we really appreciated. Hopefully, this was just an off night for the kitchen, particularly with the seafood. We did leave the gambas pil pil untouched and, when the waiter noticed, he kindly removed it from the bill without us even raising a complaint. His attentiveness and professionalism were truly appreciated — he deserves a 10/10 for his excellent service.

Slow sloppy service food came out no cuttlery had to ask 3 times for some . Food came out in dribs and drabs one meal totaly missed and late tapas had gone cold by the time a fork arrived sent back came back steaming but must have been microwaved as scollops were then rubbery. Overall very dissapionting yet again sorry but wont be giving a third try

Having a framed image of the dictator of the island of Cuba while using their culture as inspiration is incredibly disturbing. Service was slow. Told the waitress we would be ordering several rounds of food and drinks and she never once came over. We had to flag her down from the host stand every time where she was just speaking with other members of staff. Drinks were not made the same despite ordering the same. The seafood was either overcooked or not cooked enough. The pork belly was one of the better items.

Magda the host was extremely rude. She was very rushed even though there were few customers. I have been on many occasions before and thoroughly enjoyed this for food service and location . Magda seemed agitated that I required time to look through the menu. When I was nipping out for a cigarette at the end of my meal she demanded full payment even though I hadn't ordered my cappuccino. When I said I had to return to my table to get my phone to pay this seemed to infuriate Magda more. She then asked if I wanted my cappuccino outside. I stated no I wanted it at my table. This didn't deter Magda on her mission to get me out of the building as five minutes she turned up with my coffee outside. I again stated I wanted it at my table. Upon my return I found my drinks had been removed I gave up. Never again Quabana I vote with my feet. To top it all when I requested a copy of my bill I found that 10 percent had been added for service charge
