Avis sur Gotan West Broadway
Had a tasty cappuccino and an almond croissant. Both were great!
Decent coffee and a nice service, it's my new favorite spot
Was a meeting place before I went to Spring Studios. Hoping to go back when I have time. Was told coffee was really good.
I’ve been coming here for a long time now, and it’s been such a great place, also during the pandemic. The staff are so friendly and nice and remember my name. The food is great and coffee is good! A tad pricey, but hey, it’s TriBeCa. Thanks for being open, Gotan, and for the service! I highly appreciate it!! 💕🙏💖
Gotan is one of my friends favorite breakfast locations. She treated me to a chicken and bacon sandwich while she had the avocado toast (her favorite). The kitchen does not take substitutions that much, but the meal was absolutely delicious and very filling. My sandwich was in a baguette, which I usually oppose because they get so hard, but it turned out to be a good combination. We had a table outside and enjoyed the New York spring weather. The waiting staff was still paying attention to us and addressed our needs. It was just a very good time and I definitely intend to go back. So ENJOY!!
Lovely atmosphere! I discovered it online looking for a place to sit and work on my novel. The workers are really nice and there’s a lot of seating options. Great place to get work done. & The chia pudding? YUM
Good vibes with exceptional food! The herb omelette sandwich was super delicious!
This place is wonderful! I like the Cup design. The name is wonderful too. Gotan. The staff is very nice. They knew what I wanted. I got the tea. The tea is very good. Tribeca is a wonderful area. I took a picture of the Cup. It's simplistic design makes me never wanna think about Starbux again! Go Gotan! I'll be returning to this particular Gotan due to the supreme locale and friendly staff. With that. I'm on the go. I didn't have time to actually sit with the ambiance but I assure you reader. It's there. Go Gotan. Last comment is the quality of the tea. It's strong! Yummers! See you soon.
You are everything I Avo - wanted ... Had this scrumptious avocado toast while I was in NYC. Ever since I have been in this country, every place I visit has a different way of making and presenting avocado toast. I like mine with guac, peppers, cilantro and a sunny side egg on top. Slightly pricey but it's totally worth it looking at the quantity served.
Neighborhood favorite! I’m a diehard for the tuna avocado sandwich, but sometimes dabble in the tuna salad or halloumi sandwich. Gotan is a great place to grab a delicious lunch and coffee. Indoor and outdoor seating available. Outdoor is in the sun so you can sunbathe like a kitten during the winter months. Lots of people usually on laptops or getting their lunch to go.
Gotan is a refreshing take on the modern café offering not just great coffee, but an inventive menu that goes beyond the basics. I tried the avocado toast with poached eggs, and it was perfectly balanced, both in flavor and presentation. Their cold brew was smooth and robust, ideal for a warm afternoon. The space is bright and airy with plenty of seating, making it perfect for casual meetings or getting work done. Staff are friendly and efficient, and the overall vibe is clean, calm, and inspiring.
Visited Gotan for lunch with a a colleague. The brick interiors add a lot of character to the place and it was a pretty spacious restaurant. We went during lunch so it was a bit crowded. The front desk staff helped me with recommendations, she was pleasant and accommodating. I ordered: 1. Cafe Mocha - 5/5 - it was so warm and comforting, absolutely delicious. 2. Beets, arugula and pesto sandwich (special for the day) - 5/5. Was warm and hearty, bread was perfectly toasted. Absolutely delicious! I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for an option in the area.
AMAZING! Delicious breakfast and cozy atmosphere. And yes, they can make any sandwich with gluten free bread!
Bustling coffee shop with your classic avocado options, lox bagels and other beet juices, but better prepared. They also have some more original dishes like a generous Fattoush (Mediterranean) salad, a Polish Kielbasa sausage sandwich, or a surprisingly good squash ricotta sandwich. Coffee is good and poured in nice cups. Might be hard to find a seat among the alas ubiquitous laptop crowd but worth waiting a bit. They bring the food to your table.
Flavorful and healthy breakfast option. We can start the day with a kick, not only from the coffee but also from the delicious roasted red pepper and hot sauce. The tomato and cucumber keep the plate lively and fresh. Egg and cheese add protein. Portion size feels right. What a well-balanced meal!
A must if you’re in the SoHo/Tribeca area. They make great coffee and their avocado toast with poached eggs and feta is worth raving over. My gf and I have been here multiple times and we still look forward to going there on our next weekend trip to NY. Superb spot in a trendy neighborhood, nice ambience and great quality!
Every once in a while, you are lucky enough to start your day with the perfect cappuccino. 10/10. Literally, no room for improvement. (Kudos: Amanda.) Rich espresso, perfectly microfoamed oat milk, the right proportions, the perfect temperature (not too hot), and the pleasure of a real (not disposable) cup. Also: - Freshly squeezed orange juice: yes! (not so easy to find in NYC) - Avocado and feta on toast: delicious - Seating: plenty indoors, in a buzzy, fun, well-cooled environment. Plus several outdoor tables with a mix of shade and sunshine If there’s something not to like about Gotan, I haven’t found it yet.
It's a welcoming place, perfect for spending time with friends, working on personal tasks, and there are plenty of seating options both indoors and outdoors. The prices are affordable, and the quality is good. Visited around 10am on a weekday ordered a latte, Avocado Feta toast, and oatmeal with berries. Definitely will be coming back for more.
Loved the ambiance from entering the cafe! A lot of seating availability, but they do get filled up quite fast, so get there early as possible. Probably one of the best places to bring your laptop to work and enjoy the views from the cafe at the same time. All of our plates tasted so good and I do think they're reasonably priced compared to other brunch cafes I've been to. 🥗 Chicken cauliflower salad 🥪 Tuna Avocado & Swiss sandwich 🥘 Scrambled egg (requested) 🥘 Daily soup - Butternut squash ☕️ Cappuccino with oat milk ☕️ Oat latte
So far the impression is great. The Tuna Sandwich was amazing. It had Avacado a, great flavor and cranberries that added a great sweet flavor. The design of the store is very clean, green plants with wood accents. Coffees between $4-$7, sandwich between $12-$16. Typically very busy, moderate sound level. A lot of outlets available for those who want to do computer work or charge. The outdoor seating is a great location that gets great sunlight and located right across from 1 train subway.
Great vibes and very friendly, communal, upbeat atmosphere and staff. Literally stumbled upon Gotan and was so glad we went inside. Had the Gotan breakfast which was excellent and was so thoughtfully put together. It was recommended by the person who took our order and they were spot on. So good. Definitely a great spot.
Definitely worth visiting - a true neighborhood gem with an amazing coffee and a great healthy options menu. The portions are large enough to keep you energetic from the morning till the evening. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We've loved the atmosphere as well - you can grab your drink and choose where you sit, and you will be served by a staff member when the order is ready. Will visit again for sure
WOW is all I have to say. Just kidding.. I have a lot more because this place is that good. First let’s start off with the industry chic vibe of the inside. It’s so cozy and perfect for working during the day. Lots of space! The coffee is on point and the food… I was literally blown away. I ordered the Herb Omelet Sandwich and the Avocado Feta toast. Both were phenomenal but me being the carbivore I am, the sandwich was the real standout here. The baguette was incredibly tasty in itself plus the combo of the sage, shallot, scallion, spicy mayo, tomato tapenade, and a little bit of hot sauce made this one of the best breakfast sandwiches I’ve ever had. I need to come back and try the healthy bowls and the scrambled cheddar biscuit.
Great place for breakfast! I love their herb omelette sandwich. Coffee is great too and very nice people. It gets crowded around lunch time in weekdays and brunch time in weekends, but the service is efficiently fast! If you come here around 9am on a Sunday you’ll enjoy a pleasant atmosphere. It’s right at the Franklin subway stop in TriBeCa (1-red train).
Another great find in my never ending journey to sample coffee shops around the city. I love that this menu features food options that are bright & colorful with fresh greens and fruit. My breakfast choice was the avocado toast with egg added and a PB&J toast which was a delicious play on a childhood favorite! The iced black coffee was good enough to stand on its own with no sugar or milk needed. Definitely recommending this spot. I can’t wait to come back and sample more dishes alongside coffee.
My review is gonna be interesting.. But anyway great spot for light meals and some treats. Enough seats with restroom but no wifi. 🍰🫖✨Tea cake was surprisingly delicious..! Flavorful with moist cake texture. Not too sweet and went well with a drink. Green split pea soup was good and healthy. The funny thing is that it came out different from my expectations.. and had everything I hate inside (pea, carrot, parsley, celery….) but I finished. Which yes, they made it well so that I got to eat it. Golden latte was creamy, the ginger taste was strong. 💚Pistachio crinkle was rich. The texture was chewy with crunchy edges. A good option for ppl who want cookies but not chocolate chip that day!
We tried the Scrambled Cheddar Biscuit, the Avocado Feta Toast, and the Mediterranean Chicken Sandwich, and the biscuit was hands-down our favorite. The eggs were soft, the cheddar was melty, and the biscuit itself was fluffy and flavorful, easily something we’d come back for. The other dishes were fresh and well-seasoned, and the portions were generous overall. It was our first time here, but definitely not the last. The only downside is how hard it is to find an open table on weekends, but the food really makes it worth the wait. Great spot for a relaxed breakfast with consistently good dishes.
Pretty good breakfast place. Food's great. Def recommend to people who likes to eat clean/ on diet. They're quite busy and popular, and the cashier didn't even ask me how i want my egg cooked 😕 But the service is fast; not a long wait. Spent $40+ for breakfast w coffee for 2 people
This isn't the first time I'm getting breakfast at Gotan, I was here 6 months ago and enjoyed it so much that when I got back to NYC with my girlfriend I had to take her there. The food is great, the service is great and the coffee is excellent! If you wanna go to a place where it isn't too noizy Gotan is the place!
Enormous avocado toast! 🥑 I was in the region, craving for one and this place appears on suggestions on GMaps. Glad I went and tried it! Avocado toast is the highlight of the menu, cost 14 dollars. A bit pricey (so is all of NY) but definitely worth it! It’s a proper meal. Delicious! Service was nice - you get your beverages at the counter, but they bring the food to your table. Only thing missing was that there was no wifi in the space.
Since we didn't have breakfast at the hotel we wanted to have a bite to eat in New York in the city. Authentic and normal it should be, we finally found Gotan and have not regretted it. Delicious coffee and delicious dishes we got. One star deduction because all the tables have stuck and were not clean, you can work on it. Just wipe over it.
Nice NYC diner cafe, very roomy and spacious. Good selection of food and coffees. There is a bathroom and and lots of tables. The noise level is ok, not terribly noisy but loud in some spots with people. The only reason it got one less star because every table area has an outlet but no guest WIFI which makes it less ideal for remote work.
Nice little cafe on a street corner, the staff are very friendly and take orders super fast. Got the avocado toast and it was super good with lots of flavors and great presentation. Much better than any avocado toast I’ve had before. Food came out fast and cafe has nice ac and a nice seating vibe. Pop in if you want some breakfast eats.
Overall I enjoyed the food. Wasn't very busy when I arrived. I found the food portions to be large and the avocado toast was good. I was disappointed that my chai latte was luke warm. On a cold rainy day I would have liked it hot. As other mentioned it is pricey here.
Came for lunch a little past 1pm and it was crowded but not hard to find seating. I had the açaí bowl ($12) and the chai latte ($6) and neither were outstanding but both were good! There was a seasonal chai latte with turmeric that I sadly didn’t see until after ordering that I’d love to have tried, and my friend got the chicken and cauliflower salad which was a generous portion and even had a GF bread substitute. Definitely a solid choice for a quick bite or rest in the area.
The matcha latte is bad. Avocado toast so mediocre. Almond croissant was great.
Sandwich was excellent 10/10. Service 2/10. Manager extremely rude & snooty. Never going again. Not to mention server who is the only person serving as this place is short of staff, amazing gentleman. Despite of working so hard he is taking care of with big smile. One star for food two for him. Manager need training.
The food was prepared nicely and tasty, but I had a poor customer service experience. The dish I ordered comes with over easy eggs but for health reasons I cannot eat undercooked eggs so I requested them to be hard scrambled. When I got my dish, the eggs appeared over easy so I raised it to the staff. A waiter then came out to me and said Gotan doesn’t do scrambled eggs, which for one doesn’t make any sense since they’re just as easy to make if not easier than over easy eggs, but especially because Gotan has scrambled eggs elsewhere on their menu. I didn’t push it because the waiter claimed the egg yolks were well done inside, but when I checked after he left, one yolk was still soft and underdone. I didn’t appreciate them not accommodating my simple adjustment and then blatantly lying to me, especially when I was paying almost $20 for the dish in addition to other items.
Definitely a cozy feel. We ordered a hot chocolate, an iced chai, and a berry cake with crumble on top. The chai was average, nothing more than a tea concentrate. Low spice flavor. The hot chocolate was mocha syrup typically used for coffee, my nephew did not finish it. The berry tea cake was okay. Not overly sweet, but complemented the chai.
Service is always painstakingly slow. Dined in and took away on multiple occasions and it’s always an incredibly long wait. Food is good, but given service I don’t think we’ll return.
8 years of living in Tribeca, we ate lunch here 2-3 times per week. The other day I asked for 1oz of hot water to warm up my baby’s formula and they told me they would charge me for it… LOL NEVER AGAIN we will eat in this place or recommend it to anyone. :)
This place is insane, not only the prices are ridiculous, they don’t even have wifi. What year is it? Even homeless people in NYC have wifi.
My experience at Gothan was extremely disappointing. Not only were the tables dirty and the service slow, but the employees were incredibly rude. To make matters worse, when I brought my service animal with me, we were discriminated against and treated unfairly. It is unacceptable for any establishment to mistreat customers in this way. I would strongly advise against dining at Gothan if you value respectful and welcoming service. Edited / Response to Business Owner: I am writing to address the unacceptable treatment I received at your restaurant recently. First and foremost, I want to clarify that I arrived with only one small service animal, despite your false claims of multiple dogs being present. Secondly, I was appalled by the rude statement made by your staff, to which I did not respond. As a business owner, you should be open to receiving feedback, even if it is negative. It is crucial for the success of your establishment that you handle criticism professionally and respectfully. Furthermore, it is evident that your lack of training in customer relations is concerning. Responding rudely to negative reviews is not only unprofessional but also detrimental to the reputation of your business. If you continue down this path, your business is at risk of failure. Good luck in your future endeavors.
The service provided was quite disappointing and lacked courtesy. Although the food itself was satisfactory, the service fell far below expectations. I had anticipated a significantly higher level of service quality. Response to Gotan (owner): Thank you for your prompt response. I understand the source of your servers' lack of courtesy. When you have an owner like this, it is not surprising to encounter such behavior. Your lack of professionalism did not catch me off guard. I wish you the best of luck, dear small business owner. Who is Ersa btw?
Places like this frustrate me, they offer a Gotan Breakfast which comes with fried eggs, or other dishes with scrambled eggs, but chef can't do a Gotan Breakfast with scrambled eggs, he just can't, apparently. All those years at chef school for nothing, and then they expect a tip... And yes, I co-own 3 restaurants, and all our chefs can scramble, poach, and boil eggs as required... and look, you just lost another star for the sarcasm... and another one for the "shame". Are you sure you're the owner? Only you really don't seem very good at this...
