Great food great service.
ROC is -simply stated- the BEST Italian restaurant in Tribeca! I'm vegetarian and ROC has many great vegetarian selections including their delicious homemade pastas. The vegetable lasagna is the best I have ever eaten. They have "something for everyone" and they will also happily make any dish you desire. Oh- and the bread sticks- the bread sticks! Don't miss them! You will never taste better ones- they are addicting and made on the premises as well as their fabulous desserts. Service is also top notch- the staff are all super nice and eager to please. The "cherry on top" is the atmosphere which is just perfect- the seating is the opposite of the cramped seating that's unfortunately the norm these days in Manhattan- there isn't a bad table in the beautiful dining room. No elbows in your neighbour's food here! And if the weather's nice there's plenty of comfortable seating outside too. Whether you're a family or on a date (perfect lighting) don't miss ROC!
This place is just so amazing! I ordered their gnocchi a la sorrentina and the tomato soup, it was so so good. Their breadsticks are almost addicting! I ate outside and it was. I wouldn't suggest sitting in the sun in the afternoon, I would sit outside at night, the atmosphere is amazing. It's in a nice area, I would definitely go back! :)
Tuna tartar, pistachio crusted salmon, mussels, tiramisu, cappuccino- all delicious! Service was pretty good. Seriously, the whole meal was amazing. We live nearby, will definitely go back.
I've had the pleasure of going to ROC a few times for special occasions and I'm always eager to go when I'm told that's where we're going to commune. Last night, while taking in the views from the rooftop at The Standard hotel above the Highline, I looked out onto the West Side Hgwy and remembered that ROC was just south of there. A quick call, reservation and whistled cab on the scene got us there within 10 minutes. Rocco, the owner, remembered me as soon as I walked in and treated us like roc-stars (pun intended). He made a big fuss and literally catered to our every hunger induced need. Each of the servers were on point and treated us like VIP's. The food was truly amazing. Tuna Tartar with avocado & grilled octopus to start had us practically licking our plates (okay so maybe I might've licked my fork a bit more than necessary), but the mouth orgasms didn't stop there. The seafood pasta had generous portions of mussels, clams, shrimps & calamari in an ingenious sangria reduction sauce. It was savory, not too sweet and definitely something I'm going back for. My date had the linguini with clams and she couldn't stop raving about it, especially since she's lived in Italy, and travels internationally for work. For the guys out there who want to find a quaint spot to impress their date, girlfriend or the wife of 30 years, you will also impress upon them how much you care about them sharing a great meal with you too. I recommend ROC Restaurant 11 days a week and twice on Sundays.
Roc is a solid selection for great italian food served by friendly staff in a warm atmosphere. Nothing is too fancy, and that is a great thing in this world where many other Manhattan restaurants that have taken artisanal italian to the absurd. Roc does the classics well.
really excellent italian food, and very nice space.
Excellent service!
Walked by here plenty of times and have heard mostly good things so decided to check it out with a friend the other night. It was a Sunday night around 9:30 so not crowded at all and for me working in a restaurant that late you'd think that the server staff would want to rush you so they could go home but not our server. Tania was one of the best servers I've had in years. Very friendly and bubbly and just happy to be there. She read off the nights specials with so much excitement in her voice. Any question or request we had she was able to fulfill it promptly. We started off with a bottle of wine and some calamari which to be honest was a little disappointing. Maybe it's usually better because everything else was great but it came out cold and flavorless. But our entrees, that's where it was at! I had the Orecchiette Con Salsiccia and my friend had the duck. The kitchen was nice enough to take the duck off the bone for her. Don't know if it's because it was late and not busy or if it's an all the time thing but love how they went above and beyond. My pasta was insanely delicious. Exactly what I needed that night. Then we had some after dinner drinks and split a cheese cake. Normally I can finish my dessert but This cheese cake was such a huge portion and rich. Not a complaint in the least it's a great thing! The decor didn't give off an Italian vibe but it was still well put together inside. Great quiet neighborhood for a place like this. If you're not on a budget and looking for a great Italian fusion restaurant this would be the place to go!
A local favorite, Roc has been around for awhile. Great for kids and families. Good wine and food - rarely walk out feeling anything negative. Not exceptional either - just solid, elegant Italian. (Oh, and it's surprisingly expensive).
Great location, service, food.
Met up here with friends on a rainy evening. The menu though small is complete. Our appetizers, fried calamari and mussels, were delivered cold to the table, but they managed to redeem themselves with the main; scallops cooked nearly to perfection.
good italian eats, nothing remarkable
Over rated for the price point.
Il posto è ottimo ma le vongole nella mia pasta un po' di meno, la steak invece era deliziosa. Buon servizio.
Bon , service rapide et bon prix. Service correct
The food and the service are poor and the price is no worth it.
