Avis sur Sushi Katsuya Woodland Hills
We had a great experience at Katsu-ya. The atmosphere was modern, the service was prompt, and the overall quality of the fish and presentation were excellent. We especially loved the Spicy Crispy Rice and the Yellowtail Jalapeño—they were both fresh, expertly prepared, and definite highlights of the meal! The rest of the nigiri was fantastic as well. The only item that didn't suit my personal preference was the Ikura (salmon eggs), which I found to be a little too fishy for my taste. This is completely subjective, as others may enjoy the strong flavor, but I'll skip it on my next visit. Overall, this is a beautiful spot for high-quality sushi. I would definitely return! For future guests, a note on parking: there is pay parking for up to 90 minutes available nearby, or you can use the adjacent parking structure where the first hour is free for a longer stay.
An exceptional place for Japanese food in Topanga. I can't get over the quality of their food as well as its rich flavors. Their sushi and sashimi are off premium quality and the attention to detail to each dish is memorable. I particularly enjoyed their crispy tuna bites, crunch cut roll, and miso marinated black cod. Their dessert selection does not disappoint with rich flavors, not too sweet, but still very aromatic. And to top it all of, the decoration is very traditional yet modern.
Fresh. We sat at the bar and ordered about 4 rolls, each of which was perfect in their own way. The service was impeccable, the staff was friendly, and the place was very clean. No smell of fish at all when sitting at the bar which speaks volumes of the freshness. Near the end of the meal I asked our waiter if we could possibly ask the chef for a surprise specially (which he graciously agreed). The sushi with the flower is what he presented. So much incredible flavor from this work of art. I will be back again.
Stopped here for lunch and as always Katsu-ya did not disappoint! I used to go to the Manhattan Beach location a few times a week when I lived there so I was happy to find this location after moving to Malibu. The baked crab rolls are so delicious..I usually get it as a hand roll but decided to try the cut one too this time. Both are delicious! I also got the 4 1/2 roll which was really good, too. Best to come in a group so you can order lots to try because there are so many good options but I can only eat so much by myself! My only issue was service was a bit off and my appetizer was forgotten and brought after I asked for it and after I received my rolls and I asked for more Wasabi and napkins but never got them. My server was nice, just obviously frazzled...I'll try coming next time a little later after the lunch rush is over to see if service is better.
The best Japanese restaurant in California. Great quality, very delicious. Waiter Franz made for a perfect dining experience for us! He has high empathy, always there for you even when it is very busy. I have no idea how he is doing that.. you are lucky if he serves you!
We recently tried the sushi restaurant at The Village in Topanga, and it did not disappoint! We usually visit the Katsuya in Northridge, but this location is equally impressive. We sat at the sushi bar and loved watching the chefs work their magic—it's truly an art form. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. Plus, the beer is only $6, which is a great deal. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we'll definitely be back!
chef mori was amazing! we sat on the counter right in front of him and got a ton of recommendations. seeing him work was so cool! i definitely recommend asking for chef mori if you have the chance to go. i recommend the assorted sashimi and yellowtail jalapeño!
The best sushi in all of California. Personally, I think Katsuya is 100 times better than Nobu. If I could only eat at one restaurant for the rest of my life, it would be Katsuya. The staff are so nice and welcoming, and the service is always amazing. I’ve been going for 10 years, and the restaurant has always lived up to my expectations. Their baked crab hand rolls are a gift from God.
Delicious. Fast and high quality
Excellent food at reasonable price. Service was bar none the best I’ve ever experienced. No trash or dirty dish was left on our table for more than 30 seconds. Definitely recommend!
Excellent place to get some high quality sushi. Very helpful staff. Nice and pleasant location.

Delicious. Fast and high quality
I went for lunch, right at opening. Very popular. There was a line but they seated me quickly. It’s not a very large dining room but it is very quaint. Excellent service from the moment I walked in until I left. The sushi was fresh and properly proportioned. The facility is clean and well maintained. Parking available. The pricing was reasonable, especially for the quality. I look forward to doing again soon.
Just came here with my girlfriend for her birthday, and I’m happy to say I will definitely be coming back here. The food here was so fresh and I had my food prepared very quickly. Which was pretty surprising considering the place was fairly busy when I got here. All and all, great Food, great vibe, great services. 5 stars!!!
I love sushi in general but there food is fresh, and the packaging on every thing you order the presentation is neatly done and as you enjoy is flavourful and full-feeling and the way i eat sometimes is not enough so is a must i always order. Love your food.
Katsuya Woodland Hills is on another level. From the moment you walk in, the vibe is sleek, energetic, and effortlessly cool—but what truly makes this place special is the people. Luis and Franz are absolute stars. ( got both of them ) Their service is the kind that instantly makes you feel like a VIP without ever being over the top. Attentive, professional, genuinely warm, and razor-sharp with recommendations. They know the menu inside out and guide you perfectly whether you’re a first-timer or a regular who thinks they’ve tried it all. The food? Consistently top-tier. Every dish comes out looking like art and tasting even better fresh, balanced, bold flavors, zero misses. Drinks are crafted with precision, and timing is flawless. You never feel rushed, never forgotten. What really stands out is how smooth and dialed-in the whole experience feels. That doesn’t happen by accident—it’s because of people like Luis and Franz who clearly care about excellence. If you’re going to Katsuya Woodland Hills and they’re working, you’re in very good hands. Five stars isn’t enough. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🔥

Busy restaurant with good service and great food. We waited about 30 minutes to be seated for dinner. Their crispy rice tuna was delicious. Their rolls are fresh and filling. Would return again. I like this location more than the Northridge one.
Sensibly priced Sushi. Solid selection. Brussel Sprouts were a little sweet for my taste with too much sauce, great texture though!
Still so good. This location is at the Village at the South end of the shopping center. A few of my go to's are the miso black cod appetizer, seared albacore with crispy onions and the blue crab hand roll on soy paper. This time I also tried the tempura corn definitely adding this into the rotation, the dipping sauce is like a miso butter sauce which was so tasty. Service is always prompt, friendly and very attentive.

Sushi Katsu-ya never disappoints! The sushi is always fresh, and the creamy salmon is absolutely incredible; rich, flavorful, and melts in your mouth. Great spot for consistently delicious sushi!

Terrible place. Called to see how busy they were and the host (Artsina) she said come in you can be seated immediately, went there with 2 kids after 9 min and once we arrived she said sorry its 30 min wait and the place was empty, the manager tall skinny guy is worse instead of solving the problem he just made it worse. After an argument they gave us a bar seat with 2 kids. If the kids weren't hungry I wouldnt even stay a second there. Rude and mean host and manager. Pictures for the empty place
Updated 3. It was a Saturday night, I was by myself and just wanted a quick bite. The lady at the front desk told me that the 2 person small table I was pointing at wasn't available saying there was a line for it even tho I didnt see any couples. So finally I offered to sit at the Chefs counter desk which was absolutely empty. She said no. So I just left Updated 2. I don't wanna downgrade this place to 3 stars cause it would not be really fair. The reason I got upset on my second visit was one of their signature rolls - ABC roll. Strong fried onion taste. And the roll itself is absolutely tasteless. This place is good if you know exactly what items you want. Don't experiment . You might get upset. My first time here. Tiny place with OK vibes. The place was packed on Friday afternoon. I got yellowtail and Bluefin tuna, eel cucumber roll and miso. Pricing was nice. Fish was fresh and the service was really good. My eel roll was poorly rolled and was falling bapart. The taste was decent too. Miso was alright too. Overall solid place with minor flaws. I would visit this place again to try one of their signature roll.

I came to pick up my to-go order and gave my name to the polite young man at the front (who seemed to be in training). He handed me my bag, and I told him I’d like to sit down and order more food. He smiled and seated us at a table. Moments later, a woman named Ashley approached with an angry expression, snapped at him saying “You can’t do that,” and then turned to me and said, “You can’t sit here.” I was honestly shocked. I told her I wanted to order, and she repeated, “You can’t sit here, this is for walk-ins only,” while rolling her eyes in an incredibly rude and dismissive way. I asked to speak with her manager, who came over yet she stood right behind him continuing to roll her eyes. He never apologized or made any effort to acknowledge how inappropriate her behavior was. The food was great, but the experience was absolutely unpleasant. Ashley’s attitude was unprofessional, disrespectful, and completely out of place in an establishment that prides itself on good service. It’s astonishing that someone with that demeanor is representing such a busy, well-regarded place.
