by cooking everything in a lot of butter (they call it cheese), vegetables etc take on a lot of flavor. it was hard to get the attention of the server once we got our food though.
If you wish to experience authentic Bhutanese food in New York, Weekender is the place to go. They had everything bhutanese, the food and the vibes. I've had momos in few different countries but they served us the best momos. Highly recommend this place, if anyone want to try Himalayan food from the kingdom of Bhutan.
If you are craving for an authentic Bhutanese cuisine, this is the place to go. They have renovated the restaurant and now, looking cozy and welcoming. It could be spicy and so, before you make an order, make sure to ask about your reference of spices. Highly recommended!!!
I love this Bhutanese restaurant , the food is very different and unique with sun dried meat and cheese!!! They have a lot of good vegetarian option as well! It’s def worth trying it I am sure you won’t be disappointed! The restaurant is big and perfect for some quiet space or privacy. Perfect for dates as well.
yum! the cheese momo is really good. and i really enjoyed the kewa datshi. very delicious bhutanese comfort food. definitely recommend.
This place is a gem! I lived in the neighborhood for years and first time tried it only regret that I didn't know this place earlier! I really loved their fried rice! Very flavorful with the aroma from onions and garlic. Also enjoyed their noodle stew. You can tell it's made from scratch and everything tasted like home made from your mother's kitchen! Price is also very reasonable. Oh ! their red rice was amazing too!
Delicious meal. Very rare to find Bhutanese food in this area. Don’t compare this to usual Indian food. The dishes are unique. Expect the food to be flavorful, tasty and spicy! We will return soon!
Very authentic Bhutanese cuisine. Great chance to experience unique flavor profiles. The Suja Tea was salty and buttery. The chili and cheese had a creamy and savory sauce that contrasted with the spicy/bitter crunchy chilis. It pairs well with the rice or buckwheat noodles. The spice and bitterness might not be for everyone. The beef momos were nice and savory with a chewy skin. Service was friendly and relatively quick.
Awesome snooker and awesome food. Is Bhutanese food I think. A lady in there had to translate for us. It is that awesome. Only had two snooker and two dining tables. Ordered something that was like pork belly. Was amazing.
Honestly was a little unsure of the food at first. It is definitely worth a try if you never have Bhutan food at first. Their specialty tea taste like salted butter, first thought it was really nasty but harmonized really well with their other dishes.
I highly recomend this authentic Bhutanese restaurent for Bhutanese who missed thier home food and others who want to taste how Bhutanese cuisine tastes like. The people are very welcoming and polite. I got to eat red rice and shakam Datsi after 5 years !
So good , will definitely gonna visit again .. love Bhutanese food . You will get same taste
This place has my heart. Ordered the sun dried beef and mixed veggies with cheese. The flavors were extremely rich, aromatic, and unique - the veggies with cheese were cooked well, and was covered in a buttery roux that made me salivating for more. Atmosphere is super cozy, lots of huge pool (snooker?) tables, great service, and chill environment. A must visit!

Food was really great and unique! We got the spicy dried beef with cheese and it was definitely a dish with flavor profiles we’d never tried before. Suja tea was good. Note: It might look closed from the outside because the metal gates are always down, but it was open and there’s cool decor inside.
This Bhutanese restaurant is absolutely amazing. The staff & owners are so nice. The make you feel like part of their family. The place is clean, and the food is amazing. It’s a really nice environment with great vibes. The cheese dumplings are so good. I would highly recommend anyone in the area to give this a try. My first time trying Bhutanese! I will be back.
Had such a great time eating here! The food was delicious, and I got to try dishes I had never heard of— the ema datshi and the dried pork were both especially delicious. I also recommend the butter tea; I had never had a salty tea drink before but I really enjoyed it. Our server was also so friendly and seemed genuinely excited to introduce us to Bhutanese cuisine since no one in our group had tried it before. Hope to come back soon!

Ambiance (4/5): The inside felt really homey with several dining tables and then a billiards table in the back room. Service (2/5): There was very little service in general. If you want something, expect to flag down the one person who works the front to order, to have water refills, and to get the check. Otherwise, you will be left to your own devices. The food does not get delivered in order of appetizers, so they came out all at once. Waitress was able to split our bill into 3 separate payments across credit cards which we appreciated! I've never had Bhutanese food before! The closest comparison is to Nepalese food. The round of food came with a heaping bowl of rice per person. Beef Momo (4/5): The skin was thick but the meat was not the most flavorful when enjoyed on its own. The spicy sauce was a smidge to spicy to have with it. Spicy Salad Beef Chili (4/5): I really liked the cheese with the blend of the green chilies which was actually quite hot. Beef jerky was not too tough to chew. This dish was my least favorite. Ezay / spicy salad (5/5): Nothing I've had before with feta cheese, and tomato, cilantro altogether! Pork Chili (5/5): I was a huge fan of the sauce which was both sweet and spicy but not too spicy. There was a good helping of pork pieces but some were a bit tougher cuts than others. Buckwheat Noodles (3/5): Seemed like just noodles cooked in some oil and butter. Not much flavor to it and not worth the cost point at all. Sun-dried pork slice (4/5): This was different as it was large pieces of bacon (mostly dried fat) but the sauce was soaked up into the radish slices which was tasty.
First time trying Bhutanese cuisine. It was a unique experience. The cuisine is salty in nature. Recommend trying cheese based items.

I went today and I enjoy every food I was getting served. I asked one of the workers what food I should eat and he recommended me some good option like the jerky beef with some pepper and cheese that was so amazing and also the dumpling cheese 10 out of 10 I love everything about the food. I love everything. I even love the customer service. They were extremely nice and even the people that were having the wedding parties too were also nice like the atmosphere. It was just a bunch of nice people and it’s it felt really welcoming.

I ordered take out before, but I decided to try dine in this time. The tripe is lacking in flavor; the dried beef is ok ..but it might be more Interesting without cheese.
sikam paa all are fat, if some lean meat some fat it is acceptable, but all fat pork actually NOT tasty, usually the dried pork are big and pretty long , usually I order delivery and cut by myself into small pieces and recently I order this it is all fat, I would say you should be control the food quality and quantity of fat
