Amazing Indian food! They excellent food & service at reasonably prices. We had the butter chicken and the Melai Kabab chicken with a cream sauce. Both were so absolutely delicious. We also order the naan with the garlic. Will definitely go back & have the Melai Kabobs which was a definite hit at our table. Highly recommend!
I have yet to have a meal here that is not spectacular. I try to get something new every time I visit. Today I ordered the vegetable korma. It was AMAZING. The vegetables were bright and crisp, and so flavorful. The farmers cottage cheese cubes will always be my favorite (they remind me a bit of tofu.) As always we started with their samosas and garlic naan. This place is a must, when you are in Abilene!
This is my first memorable experience with Indian food and it has been an amazing experience! The food is absolutely delicious and the people running the place are so nice. I've been twice so far and I will definitely be making more plans to come back. I have found my new favorite restaurant in Abilene!!! I LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!!
My First Time Trying Indian Food — and It Was Fantastic! My first time going today, and the food was very good — full of flavor! I’m a spicy type of person, so I loved that my rice and veal had that perfect kick, packed with spice and taste. The garlic bread was also on point, full of bold flavor. The customer service was great, and the price was fair for the amount of food you get — they give you plenty! I told them it was my first time trying Indian food, and I was very pleased. This spot sits right off I-20 in Abilene, Texas — exit 283B — you can’t miss it. As soon as you get into Abilene, it’s right there on the side of the highway. Definitely a must-try if you’re passing through or live nearby. You won’t be sorry!
The food is great! Top 2 Butter Chicken I have ever had maybe even the best, garlic naan is great, the people are friendly and all for a very cheap price compared to other places. A drink, Butter chicken with rice and an order of garlic naan put me at $21 after taxes. Only downside i wish would improve is getting all the food simultaneously rather than staggered/at different times as that effects the overall experience but thats my only wish. Definitely try this place! 9.1/10
This place is soooo good that it's addictive! I like the tikka masala (chicken or paneer) a lot and in comparison with other Indian restaurants, theirs is one of the best, if not the best, that I've had. Lots of choices on the menu and alcoholic beverages are also on the menu. I've dined in and taken out several times before and it's consistently a great decision to do so. Friendly staff.
It was a really great experience, food was delicious. My wife loves the Butter chicken, the Garlic naan was great as well. The service is great, the place is really clean and portion sizes are huge. My only pet peeve is they were put of a couple stuff that I truly liked, like Hot Chai, and Chicken Samosas, eventhough the veggie Samosas were great. I have high standards with Biryani which is usually one of my go to meals and this one was just ok, it didn't leave me like damn I need to go back for some more in it's totally as a dish, don't get me wrong the meat had great flavor but the mix with the rice was a little off almost seemingly like they were prepared separately and then combined but not enough sauce was used ro fully infuse the meat flavor throughout the rice. I did like the idea that they used sweet onions ontop and not red onions. Still a great option in town if you're craving some tasty Indian food. Give them a try, if you cant handle heat it's best to take no spice they do bring the heat.
I am a trucker and I saw this on Google maps and didn't eat anything the whole day so I could enjoy it. It was 100% worth it. I ordered butter chicken, 2 naans and a mango Lassi. The butter chicken was really good along with the 2 naans it really hit the spot. I don't regret not eating anything so I could enjoy some good Indian food it was like I already said 100% worth it. I called and ordered what I wanted and came in and out it was quick service the lady who was attending me was awesome the service was awesome and the atmosphere was great as well. I will be coming back here to eat again.
Coming in from Houston for a weekend was shocked to find an Indian restaurant in a small town and was not left disappointed. Genuinely the food was so good. We ordered chicken tikka masala to be safe, naan, and samosas. Flavorful food only thing is I would order the chicken tikka spicy rather than mild. Safe to say, we cleaned the plates.
We love their Samosa, chicken Korma and Butter chicken from this place! They are not spicy at all. They are sooo yummy that you want to dip your butter naan in it!! If you want spicy, they definitely have plenty of spicy choices. I did try the Spicy Indian chicken and the Lamb vindaloo and they are still good if you can get past the spicy part. They even have Mango lassi that taste like melted mango ice cream ❤❤❤❤❤ definitely a place you should try!
Delicious and affordable! If you like Indian food, just go now and thank me later! We started with the Chicken 65, flavors were the perfect blend of spicy and tangy. Butter chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer were so good!! Get the garlic naan!! We started eating immediately and I forgot pics.
I haven’t had anything bad her yet. The Samosas are always good, cooked well, packed with filling and tons of flavor. The Medium Spiced Shrimp Biryani was my choice of entree. It was very spicy, made me sweat in a good way. It had great flavor. I rolled it up in my favorite Garlic Naan bread and drizzled the Green sauce on it. The portion size was huge, I couldn’t eat it all. The only down fall was they leave the tails on the shrimp and it’s cumbersome digging them out and having to get your fingers messy while removing the tails. Other than that the food was a home run. The down fall was the service. I saw the waitress three times, when she took our order and brought drinks. Then when we checked out to pay. Someone different brought the food and no one ever came to refill our drinks. My drink was empty 30 sec after she left the table and I ate most of my meal without a drink until my wife felt bad for me because the heat from the dish was winning the battle that I had going. So she got up went to the counter and asked for a refill. Of course, I drank that down fast and still no one came so we just got a “to go” tray paid out and left. The frustration was, there were 8 employees behind the counter cutting up, laughing, having a good time while we were literally the only customers in the entire restaurant. No one thought about us for a second until it was time to add a tip to the total. Then she was overly nice. I would definitely return for the food, the service…well I might as well get it to go because I’ll have to get everything I need myself anyway .
The food was okay, we gave it a shot since it is the only indian food in town. The chicken tikka masala was a little bit salty and too creamy with not enough tomato, but everything else tasted okay. We counted three bite sized pieces of chicken in the boneless biryani. Naan was good, and the mango lassi was alright with the mango coming from concentrate. The goat pepper fry was good. Price came up to almost $40 per person. If you come from a bigger city and know indian food, this place will satisfy the craving somewhat, but not really.
Was told to sit next to the restrooms I had no choice in the back farthest table away from the door hidden away felt like because of my race I had to sit that far away. A party of 3 fallowed me In and could sit anywhere they wanted! I feel like that’s unacceptable. Many tables open I could have sat anywhere. Sorry I’m not Indian or apart of the “superior”race and didn’t come in speaking the language. I still left a $20 out of pity hopefully you can clean your restrooms and not let employees go in no hand washing because they don’t flush the toilets. Just nasty.
I was excited to try this place. And though there were some good points, on the whole, it was a major let down and I won't be going back. The restaurant is very clean. They were putting a fresh coat of paint on the exterior as I arrived. They obviously care about their business. The food was good and didn't take too long. I ordered the Butter Chicken, but there was a distinct shortage of chicken, and what chicken there was, was full of gristle. The service was lacking, barely civil, and thoroughly uninterested. Also, be prepared for a food cost upcharge on your ticket. I don't mind, but don't like being surprised by it. If you inquire about it, you are quickly dismissed with "it was posted" as the sarcastic cashier points to a small sign posted by the cash register. The food was good enough to give them a second try, but with poor and rude service like that, they must not care about repeat business.
Ordered through DoorDash as that's where their online menu took me. I went to store 5 minutes after the time (had already been 26 minutes plus our 5 minutes later, and they said it would be 10-15 minutes still. We sat there for 15 minutes and he handed me the food aggressively and then closed the window. I said thank you, but the guy just turned around and shut the window. We checked the receipt and it said "ready for pick up at 6:14pm, we got there at 6:19pm but it wasn't ready until 15 minutes later. We got the feeling they didn't have anything made and they got it all done while we sat in the drive through. Rude service, forgetting to get our food ordered, and all for not so great food Indian food. I'd drive to another city for some better Indian food!
A little background on how I got to this restaurant. We were on a road trip from El Paso to Dallas and was time for lunch and we looked up Google and found a 4.5 star Indian restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered vegetable fried rice, samosa chat, chilly chicken, and curd rice. But before I review the food I would like to mention the dressing of the service. The service person did not seem to have formal or presentable attire. The guy had long uncut nails and the lady was completely in casual sleepwear. That was not what we expected from such a highly rated restaurant. Now about the food, The vegetable fried rice was actually a vegetable pullav. The fried rice did not have fresh and small sliced vegetables. All the vegetables in it were huge chunks as you can see in the pictures and it was just a mixed vegetable rice. The chili chicken was very hot and we couldn't even finish it. The saving Grace was the curd rice but it was served without even a pickle and I had to ask the service for the pickle and she was not sure if the pickle was served with the curd rice. She had to head back into the kitchen and get it after 5 minutes. As you can see in the pictures, we did not finish even half of the food that was served. However, we finished the curd rice which could have had a little bit more curd in it. During payment, the service lady asked about the food and I gave her honest feedback that the vegetable fried rice was not. In fact, a vegetable fried rice and that the vegetables had to be sliced in the smaller pieces and it had to be fresher and her reply was that this is how it is made here. The chef was also around and she mentioned my feedback to the chef and he smiled at it and walked away. He did not care to talk or discuss the feedback with us. One thing I can be sure of is that the quantity of food is excellent and a single order of rice can easily feed two people or more. I wish the quality was as good as the quantity of food. If I was rating the food on quantity this restaurant would definitely get a five star. But since I am rating this restaurant based on the quality I would only give a single ⭐.
First of all, change the chef and the rude lady at this restaurant. We ordered 4 curries which lacked distinct flavours. It looked and tasted same as if it was made using the same food colour (same red and yellow coloured) and curry base. The food quality definitely needs improvement. Additionally, the lady at this location was not at all welcoming. On call (before we arrived) she gave incorrect information about menu availability. She was rude to other staff members too. While other staff were generous and welcoming. There is high chance you may expect customers at the time of closing due to this location on busy I20. Instead of being rude at-least try to accommodate the customers and focus on less menu items with some decent tasted food.
Very poor service and rude to the customer.I never recommend this SPICY INDIA .ABILENE .to anyone .Manager name Purusodhaman reddy and Sherry .Food is horrible .They force as to dine out.at 2..30pm.The time says 3pm is the closing time.we travel from Austin to Abilene.Without knowing about that restaurant we stuck up there.its horrible experience for my family and I.
