Spicy food with great flavor. If you don't like spicy make sure to tell them and they'll take off the heat. A great and unique addition to Abilene's downtown food scene.

Got chance to try this restaurant today and the ambience was very good. It’s among one of the clean Indian restaurants I have been before. Customer service of the guy who also helped us at checkout and brought our appetizer and lady who brought the menu and brought our main course was very good. They are clean and friendly. We had samosa and butter chicken both were very delicious. Also forgot to tell the price was really good and portion was more than other Indian restaurants. Thank you and we will visit again.

I went to Spicy India for lunch today. Some of you might be in the same frame of mind as I was before actually trying their food. I thought it would all have a strong curry flavor, which I don't like. Instead, I was pleased to see they actually had a menu where they have marked gluten-free and vegan options, and they don't use msg. I had a vegetable dish with zucchini, carrots, onions, green peas, bell pepper, broccoli, fresh parsley. I asked for mild spice level. The food was fresh and delicious. It was in a delicately flavored sauce that enhanced the fresh vegetables instead of overpowering them. They serve with white rice. The waitperson clearly speaks and understands English. She was helpful in explaining the dishes on the menu. Color me grateful for a restaurant that I can enthusiastically go to.

If you've been missing good Indian food (not that weird stuff at Chinese restaurants) then this is the place to go. The curry, naan, and chicken tikka reminded me of what I fell in love with while abroad. This was the first place in town that when I asked for spicy it was actually spicy. (Although it did still seem toned down for American pallets) Although I am missing the tandoori chicken (maybe they just call it something else) and the variety plates, I guess I'll just have to make multiple trips to try stuff haha. Mango lassi was pretty good. Just wish they put a little ice on it to keep it cold. Be prepared to get up and grab your own togo boxes, bags and cups. Just tip a little less I guess. Overall this is your only option for Indian food and the only place that really scratches that itch for me. And for that reason I'm giving it a 5. But as far as Indian food I've had, this is a 2.5-3 out of 5.

there is a fairly large Indian community in Texas and Abilene has the pleasure of being blessed with this Authentic Indian food, and it's some of the best I've ever had. Great portions, very fair prices, and attentive staff. Definitely a must.

Tasty Indian food in Abilene, Texas is something I never imagined but it's here. Now we don't have to drive all the way to Dallas to get Indian food. We have many favorites but I highly recommend the Saag and Korma!

I learned that my scale of spiciness needs to expand. After looking at the menu and asking whether "Spicy Goat" or "Goat Rogan Josh" curry was spicier and being told that the latter was, I ordered the "spicy goat" ($15). I also ordered an extra plate of naan ($3). Photo taken after I was already a ways in and had consumed half the naan. I enjoyed what I had, despite it being difficult to appreciate the fullness of it while my tongue was on fire. Recommended, and would visit again if I ever make my way through that area again

Best Indian food I have ever ran across. I highly recommend you stop and eat there. Definitely coming back. Would give this a 10 star but they're only gave me five to play with. Thank you spicy Indian for everything enjoy the food we'll see you again.

Awesome indian food, I go there evytime I am here in abilene. The spicy chciken biryani is very tasty and the service was really good. The owner also offered us complimentary drinks. It's a very good place to go with family as they have good seating and u can customize the spice level for kids as well.

Spicy India has become a new favorite of ours. My husband and I try to have a date every week, and 9 times out of 10, we choose Spicy India. The food is fabulous, and the service is great. We have become acquainted with one very kind waitress. This restaurant hits the spot every time.

from the Civic Center in Abilene but has since moved to the south access road off I-20, just west of Westlake Rd. I'll start off with the atmosphere. Upon entering we were greeted by a large open space leading up to the counter. Off to the left, the room opened up to several 2 and 4 person tables with larger 6+ tables in the back for larger parties. There was Bollywood music playing from a TV and sound system that was pleasant and not too loud and the temperature was pleasantly cool. The place was immaculately clean and the tables were beautifully decorated with ornate designs and plates. Now for the service. An old and soft-spoken man in unremarkable attire greeted us with a nod, confirmed we were dining in and motioned with his hand to the room. We took this to mean that we were to sit anywhere we'd like. After taking our seats the old man, who would also be our server, promptly came and took our drink orders. When he returned he took our food orders and answered a couple questions we had about the menu. After about 5 minutes he returned with mine and my brother's meals. The Food: We both found the food fantastically delicious! My brother ordered the Paneer Butter Masala which is a creamy, savory and sweet dish that had a subtle spiciness and large squares of paneer (fried cottage cheese) and a yellowish-orange color. I order the Spicy Indian Chicken Curry, which is a very spicy, savory, creamy, and salty chicken curry that has a deep orange color. Both meals came with a side of basmati rice, garnished with crispy fried onions. We ordered sides of garlic naan and butter naan, respectively. In regards to my meal, it is essentially a very hot and spicy version of Chicken Tikka Masala. On a scale of 1-4, 1 being no heat and 4 being melt your face off hot (i.e.: Thai hot), this dish ranked somewhere around the 2-3 area. I would classify it as very hot. Not only was the spiciness hot but the meals themselves were also quite hot, temperature-wise. The curries came in beautiful, polished double-walled aluminum bowls that maintained the heat of the food throughout the entirety of the meal. It was still giving off steam as I transferred it to the to-go container as we were leaving. For the prices, you get a serious amount for food. They did not skimp on portion sizes. For comparison you get double the amount of food you would get in a typical meal at someplace like Tikka Shack. Neither my brother or I could finish our meals and ended up taking sizeable amounts home. Price: this is moderately expensive. Each plate ranged somewhere between $10.99 to $12.99. Appetizers were all in the $8-$9 range. However; as I mentioned before, the portion sizes justify the price. Both my brother I ate for around $36 after tax and not counting the tip. Menu: they had a rather large menu with at least 20 different entree items and the appetizer menu had well over 10 options. There were 5 pages to the menu(front and back) but most only the first 2 really had food items. The other 3 pages were alcoholic beverages and cocktails, which were not on my menu this time around, though the Indian Mojito did catch my eye. Hours: Spicy India is open every day but Tuesday. Their hours are somewhat unsual. I assume this is due to some form of religious or cultural reason. They are open Wednesday-Monday: 10a-3p and 5p-10p Overall: I'm certain there are better places out there and I know for a fact there are worse, but for Indian food in Texas this is the best I've had thus far. It's so strange that such a hidden gem is tucked away in Abilene, TX in a rather obscure and unnoticeable location. Despite it being on I-20, it is tucked just up stream from an off-ramp and as such makes it tricky to access from I-20 itself. If you've lived here a long time, are new to town, or just passing through, I highly recommend you stop and enjoy the food at Spicy India. It's not too hard to get to and, more importantly, it's worth it! -The Amazon Wildman, Blogger and YouTuber

As per usual the food was delicious! Ordered vegetarian curry, mango lassi, garlic naan and veg samosas.

We started off with the Spinach Pakora & Somosas for an appetizer and the they were both on point. We didn't know what to expect from the Pakora which was fried Spinach but it was lightly battered and fried and delicious. The Kadai Vegetable entree was going l yummy too, nice and spicy just the way I like it. The Lamb Curry was medium heat and perfect for my honey bear. Oh and the Mango Lassi to drink was on point. It looks like a thick carrot juice because of the yogurt but baby it's wonderfully smooth and mango treat. Div was our server and we're now fat and happy after going with her delightful recommendations.😋

I'm so glad I have a place near by, I can eat great Indian food; chef's kiss 🤤❤️ Husband ate the butter chicken, I had the spicy goat, and my toddler had shares with the lemon rice. Would come back each time I was in town . I had the mango cocktail that had both a comfort feeling of a smoothie with alcohol ☺️.

Just from first looks the inside is a great and comfortable place to dine in, the staff is extremely friendly, food is true to it's cultural roots, I would definitely recommend. As with any good India type food if you love curry then you will love this place or even if you want to try it!!!!

Coming back home to Abilene I was really hoping that this place would be good. It did not disappoint me at all. I love the garlic naan bread, chicken tiki masala and the chicken korma. The veg samosa was good too. I do like the butter chicken but the chicken tiki masala is probably my favorite. I would pass on the noodle dishes. I am so glad that this place satisfies my Indian food craving every time.

Absolutely FANTASTIC! I got my meal to go and, I loved my Chicken Tikka Masala, it was full of flavor. I asked for extra spicy and they did not disappoint me. I will definitely be back. However, I do recommend the owners or manager advertise. I absolutely love indian food and keep up with abilenes new restaurants frequently and I never heard or seen any advertisements about this place. I just happened to be driving downtown when I noticed it.

The food is a 5! Top 5 korma I’ve ever had, husband was pleased with the Malabar fish curry and said the spice level was perfect (he chose medium level and he can handle spice). Garlic naan was good. The portion was good for the price. The bathrooms were very clean. The service is fine, but not excellent. The restaurant was only about 10% full, yet we were told to sit at one of the small two top tables which didn’t leave enough room for the food. That is my only complaint and we will definitely be back!

It’s so hard to find Indian cuisine in west texas, but I had the absolute HONOR of eating here today. The service was lovely, prices were very reasonable, and the food? To die for! I couldn’t recommend this place enough. If you go definitely get the naan bread and simosas, I personally had the spicy chicken curry and it was absolutely packed with flavor!

We're on a road trip and were looking for somewhere to eat in Abilene and we were lucky to find this place. I had the spicy goat curry and my girlfriend had the paneer tikka masala, both were delicious. The garlic naan was fantastic and the mango drinks that were recommended did not dissapoint. The service was very friendly and we're hoping to stop here again on our way home.

This place is a hidden gem! It offers a great variety of Indian dishes in a very clean and welcoming environment. The food tastes amazing — especially the Dum Biryani and Goat Rogan Josh, both full of authentic flavor. The naans are freshly baked and served hot, crispy, and delicious. Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re in Abilene or just passing through — you won’t be disappointed!

I only get to visit Abilene once every few years. In 2018 I visited this restaurant nearer to downtown Abilene … and was so happy to find out they are still in business, just in a different location!!! Their food is amazing!!! So bold in flavors and generous portions! Just as good as I remember it from a few years back — maybe even better! I highly recommend this restaurant. Try it —you will not be disappointed!!!

Wow is all I can say. Spicy India is absolutely amazing. The food was full of color and flavor. The meat was exceptionally tender. The Garlic Naan bread was such a great addition to our meal and definitely should be added every time. The bar drink was unique compard to what you usually find in the states but that's not a bad thing it was minty and sweet with some other flavors I'm not use to that were just the perfect accompaniment to our meal. Will be back!

T

Samosa are SO GOOD!! Palak Paneer has a great flavor and the paneer was perfect but the spinach was liquid like soup with no texture so nothing to grab onto with the naan. Not a fan of that at all so I wouldn’t order it again. Came in right around closing at lunch and got it to go. They were welcoming and it was fast to come out.

Sherry was patient with my order as it was my first time here. The food was well done, and I just can't believe that I didn't know about this place. I ate samosa here and carried the rest to go. The packaging was great as well. I'll definitely be back!

An explosion of flavor from the less anticipated place. I passed by Spicy India hundreds of times, and it never caught my attention because, to be honest, a restaurant beside a gas station was not my cup of tea. A friend from Abilene recommended the place and assured me I would like it. He was wrong because the restaurant blew my mind!! I ordered Chicken Tikka for $11.99 and the Spicy Indian Goat curry $14.99. I came from Houston, where you can find great Indian restaurants, but they are no competition to Spicy Indian. Their tamarindo and mint sauce are the best. Their service was fast even when they had a lot of people on Sunday at lunch. I would highly recommend this place

Wonderful food! Can't go wrong with any of the curries. Go with a group so you can all try each other's! Great naan too. I haven't tried any of the cocktails yet, but I'm excited to! Prices are good, especially considering how much food you get. Don't worry if you can't handle spicy food, there are good mild options too (but if you love spicy food like me you're in for a good time). They also have a lot of meatless options. The staff is very friendly, fun, and helpful. They'll answer just about any question you ask about the food, as well as make recommendations. Well decorated, clean, and good atmosphere. Unusually comfortable chairs. Convenient location by the I-20. Two words: curry heaven

Excellent authentic southern Indian cuisine. Naan is crispy outside, perfect! Spinach pakora nice. Chat appetizers were full of spicy flavor. Palak paneer great. Gutti Vankya eggplant curry is really hot 🔥but tasty. BE AWARE THAT THEY CLOSE AT 3PM AFTER LUNCH AND STOP SEATING FOR INDOOR DINING AT 2:15 PM AND THEY MEAN IT! WE WALKED IN AT 2:10, LEFT AT 3 PM and staff left at 3:01 locking the door behind them! An oasis of Indian flavors in the west Texas desert!

Wow I can't believe this restaurant is in Abilene. Having lived in the middle east I can vouch for the fact that this place is truly authentic. Great Tikka marsala chicken and the basmati rice was cooked perfect. Garlic naan was excellent. You gotta try this place. Place is spotless too.

Casual, authentic Indian food (from multiple regions). Order your favorite spice level from mild to super hot. Be prepared for a bit of a wait as your food will be made to order & delivered straight from the kitchen as it's done. Worth the wait. Reasonably priced. So yummy...brought back memories of my time spent in India. Definitely go!

Amazing Indian food! They excellent food & service at reasonably prices. We had the butter chicken and the Melai Kabab chicken with a cream sauce. Both were so absolutely delicious. I have yet to have a meal here that is not spectacular. I try to get something new every time I visit. Today I ordered the vegetable korma. It was AMAZING. The vegetables were bright and crisp, and so flavorful. The farmers cottage cheese cubes will always be my favorite (they remind me a bit of tofu.) As always we started with their samosas and garlic naan. This place is a must, when you are in Abilene!

My First Time Trying Indian Food — and It Was Fantastic! My first time going today, and the food was very good — full of flavor! I’m a spicy type of person, so I loved that my rice and veal had that perfect kick, packed with spice and taste. The garlic bread was also on point, full of bold flavor. The customer service was great, and the price was fair for the amount of food you get — they give you plenty! I told them it was my first time trying Indian food, and I was very pleased. This spot sits right off I-20 in Abilene, Texas — exit 283B — you can’t miss it. As soon as you get into Abilene, it’s right there on the side of the highway. Definitely a must-try if you’re passing through or live nearby. You won’t be sorry!

The food is great! Top 2 Butter Chicken I have ever had maybe even the best, garlic naan is great, the people are friendly and all for a very cheap price compared to other places. A drink, Butter chicken with rice and an order of garlic naan put me at $21 after taxes. Only downside i wish would improve is getting all the food simultaneously rather than staggered/at different times as that effects the overall experience but thats my only wish. Definitely try this place! 9.1/10

This place is soooo good that it's addictive! I like the tikka masala (chicken or paneer) a lot and in comparison with other Indian restaurants, theirs is one of the best, if not the best, that I've had. Lots of choices on the menu and alcoholic beverages are also on the menu. I've dined in and taken out several times before and it's consistently a great decision to do so. Friendly staff.

It was a really great experience, food was delicious. My wife loves the Butter chicken, the Garlic naan was great as well. The service is great, the place is really clean and portion sizes are huge. My only pet peeve is they were put of a couple stuff that I truly liked, like Hot Chai, and Chicken Samosas, eventhough the veggie Samosas were great. I have high standards with Biryani which is usually one of my go to meals and this one was just ok, it didn't leave me like damn I need to go back for some more in it's totally as a dish, don't get me wrong the meat had great flavor but the mix with the rice was a little off almost seemingly like they were prepared separately and then combined but not enough sauce was used ro fully infuse the meat flavor throughout the rice. I did like the idea that they used sweet onions ontop and not red onions. Still a great option in town if you're craving some tasty Indian food. Give them a try, if you cant handle heat it's best to take no spice they do bring the heat.

I am a trucker and I saw this on Google maps and didn't eat anything the whole day so I could enjoy it. It was 100% worth it. I ordered butter chicken, 2 naans and a mango Lassi. The butter chicken was really good along with the 2 naans it really hit the spot. I don't regret not eating anything so I could enjoy some good Indian food it was like I already said 100% worth it. I called and ordered what I wanted and came in and out it was quick service the lady who was attending me was awesome the service was awesome and the atmosphere was great as well. I will be coming back here to eat again.

Coming in from Houston for a weekend was shocked to find an Indian restaurant in a small town and was not left disappointed. Genuinely the food was so good. We ordered chicken tikka masala to be safe, naan, and samosas. Flavorful food only thing is I would order the chicken tikka spicy rather than mild. Safe to say, we cleaned the plates.

We love their Samosa, chicken Korma and Butter chicken from this place! They are not spicy at all. They are sooo yummy that you want to dip your butter naan in it!! If you want spicy, they definitely have plenty of spicy choices. I did try the Spicy Indian chicken and the Lamb vindaloo and they are still good if you can get past the spicy part. They even have Mango lassi that taste like melted mango ice cream ❤❤❤❤❤ definitely a place you should try!

Pretty good place to find Indian food in a town with limited options. Impressed by the Malai kofta, I would say best Malai kofta I have ever eaten. It has the right amount of sweetness in curry and it taste so good. I noticed just too much colors in all the curries, And if the owner can cut down on colors, it will make the food even better. Would definitely try food here again.

I went here last night with a friend. Food was excellent. I had no idea that they had been in Abilene for five years. I only just heard about it a few months ago. Staff was very friendly and nice but the online ordering leaves something to be desired. it says you can put in a Phone order and have it ready for a certain time but then when you try to do it, it says you can't actually put the order in till 5 o'clock, and if you wanted that order for 530 pretty much isn't going to happen . They did let us do a carry out order and then had a little table that we could sit at and eat our carry out food. we had planned to pick it up earlier, take it to a friends house, eat dinner, and then go to our plans for the evening. But it worked fine sitting at their table, I expected them to be a lot busier, and they weren't that busy. Also, when you order online, it didn't give you an option on the level of spiciness, I got this vegetable biryani thing, and it was yummy, but very very spicy (not like a fair amount of spice). When we spoke to the waitress later, she said we could've ordered mild, but that hadn't been an option online anyways, as I said, the food was very delicious, and I ate the spicy leftovers this morning with some fried eggs and it was fabulous as well. We plan to go back and try some other dishes.

Decent Food but Pricey Spicy India offers a convenient location right off the highway, making it easy to stop by. The food was decent but a bit on the expensive side for the portion and quality. If you’re looking for actual spicy flavors, be sure to mention it while ordering, as the medium spice level is quite bland. Other than that, the experience was fine, and the location is handy for a quick meal.

Delicious and affordable! If you like Indian food, just go now and thank me later! We started with the Chicken 65, flavors were the perfect blend of spicy and tangy. Butter chicken, Chicken Tikka Masala and Palak Paneer were so good!! Get the garlic naan!! We started eating immediately and I forgot pics.

Ordered an entree - Lamb Biryni. It was so spicy I had to throw it all away as I ordered it through Uber Eats.

Nice place. I enjoyed the butter chicken and the plain and garlic Naan were fresh and delicious. The chicken briyani was bland. I was not a fan of the chicken kabobs they were fried and greasy. The lamb curry was very good a little too spicy but by far the best item ordered. The Dahl lacked flavor and the Chana masala had to much chili powder it actually tasted grainy. I would have liked to taste the samosas but didn't see them on the menu until after we had ordered.

I haven’t had anything bad her yet. The Samosas are always good, cooked well, packed with filling and tons of flavor. The Medium Spiced Shrimp Biryani was my choice of entree. It was very spicy, made me sweat in a good way. It had great flavor. I rolled it up in my favorite Garlic Naan bread and drizzled the Green sauce on it. The portion size was huge, I couldn’t eat it all. The only down fall was they leave the tails on the shrimp and it’s cumbersome digging them out and having to get your fingers messy while removing the tails. Other than that the food was a home run. The down fall was the service. I saw the waitress three times, when she took our order and brought drinks. Then when we checked out to pay. Someone different brought the food and no one ever came to refill our drinks. My drink was empty 30 sec after she left the table and I ate most of my meal without a drink until my wife felt bad for me because the heat from the dish was winning the battle that I had going. So she got up went to the counter and asked for a refill. Of course, I drank that down fast and still no one came so we just got a “to go” tray paid out and left. The frustration was, there were 8 employees behind the counter cutting up, laughing, having a good time while we were literally the only customers in the entire restaurant. No one thought about us for a second until it was time to add a tip to the total. Then she was overly nice. I would definitely return for the food, the service…well I might as well get it to go because I’ll have to get everything I need myself anyway .

The food was okay, we gave it a shot since it is the only indian food in town. The chicken tikka masala was a little bit salty and too creamy with not enough tomato, but everything else tasted okay. We counted three bite sized pieces of chicken in the boneless biryani. Naan was good, and the mango lassi was alright with the mango coming from concentrate. The goat pepper fry was good. Price came up to almost $40 per person. If you come from a bigger city and know indian food, this place will satisfy the craving somewhat, but not really.

This restaurant is ok. I didn’t find the food that good as I explore many Indian restaurants. The food quality was not that good. It tasted really different than other. It was more sour. The briyani wasn’t good. It was just waste of food for me and my friends. Even the tikka masala was not good. All over it was my first and last time visiting this place. Customer service was good.

Was told to sit next to the restrooms I had no choice in the back farthest table away from the door hidden away felt like because of my race I had to sit that far away. A party of 3 fallowed me In and could sit anywhere they wanted! I feel like that’s unacceptable. Many tables open I could have sat anywhere. Sorry I’m not Indian or apart of the “superior”race and didn’t come in speaking the language. I still left a $20 out of pity hopefully you can clean your restrooms and not let employees go in no hand washing because they don’t flush the toilets. Just nasty.

I was excited to try this place. And though there were some good points, on the whole, it was a major let down and I won't be going back. The restaurant is very clean. They were putting a fresh coat of paint on the exterior as I arrived. They obviously care about their business. The food was good and didn't take too long. I ordered the Butter Chicken, but there was a distinct shortage of chicken, and what chicken there was, was full of gristle. The service was lacking, barely civil, and thoroughly uninterested. Also, be prepared for a food cost upcharge on your ticket. I don't mind, but don't like being surprised by it. If you inquire about it, you are quickly dismissed with "it was posted" as the sarcastic cashier points to a small sign posted by the cash register. The food was good enough to give them a second try, but with poor and rude service like that, they must not care about repeat business.

Horrible service I call them 40 minutes ago for my order when I came they told your order is not ready and very rude

I ordered the spicy goat curry. It made me very sick with food poisoning. I know it was the goat curry because that's all that I ate that day. I work up almost every hour during the night trying to vomit or defecate. I had very high body temperature and body ache. This was absolutely caused by their food as it was the only thing I had in my system. I imagine the goat meat was old or something but it was an awful experience. I would avoid this place

I never ate such an Indian food. There is no resemblance to the taste for the food we order. chicken lollipop and chicken 65 both same taste, one boneless and other with bone, the interesting fact is it do not have the taste of any. Chicken boneless biriyani is also made of some sauce. Nan is burned, I don’t know if it was garlic nan itself. Butter chicken is the only one with different taste, but that too not the taste of butter chicken. They will give you some thing to eat that is all.Though ambiance is very good.

Unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing. We sat at our table for over 25 minutes waiting for someone to take our order, and no one ever came. The service was completely nonexistent. Just as we were about to leave, someone finally came over—but by then it was too late. When you go to a restaurant, it’s because you’re hungry—not to sit around hoping someone notices you. It’s a shame, because the place looked promising, but the lack of organization and attention to customers ruined the visit. I wouldn’t recommend it unless they seriously improve their service.

They close at 3pm but when you try to place an order after 2:30 they simply say they are closed. This happened to me twice. Either update your correct timings or serve the customers atleast till 2:50pm and the lady who picks the call is never polite.

Absolutely one of the worst Indian restaurant experiences I have ever had. They put GREEN color to the palak( spinatch) paneer. It was absolutely not acceptable...the picture is attached here.

I love this place so so so much. But they don’t know how to listen to instructions when you put very spicy and it’s not this is like the 6th time this has happened it’s very disappointing when you spend $45 for spicy food and it’s not.

Walked in at 921pm on a Saturday. Was refused service and wouldn’t even allow a to go order to be put in. Hours show 10. I get it’s private owned but come on. Won’t be returning.

Got to Abilene late and decided to order from here because the reviews mostly looked good. Website said they closed at 10. Went in to get my food and the energy was very strange. The workers seemed like they were all holding in laughter. I ordered chicken tikka kebab and on my way out they started laughing out loud. Very strange. Got to my car and to chicken looks decent but the slaw its on legit looks like it was scraped off someones plate. While sitting in my car I saw all the workers come out, get in the same car and leave 25 minutes before it said they closed. Not sure if the website was wrong and i made them stay late or what to make if the experience, but I don’t think I’m going to eat it.

I ate here on business once and ordered several dishes. They were correctly prepared except that we were unable to eat anything whatsoever because everything was way too hot (spicy). It was incredible how hot, way past vindaloo style. Later I remembered a family was leaving when I got there saying they could not eat any of their food and left it all on the plates. I thought her kids were too young for Indian food until I found out for myself. Terrible mistake in kitchen using the wrong curry powder maybe. Very sad I couldn't enjoy my food.

Ordered through DoorDash as that's where their online menu took me. I went to store 5 minutes after the time (had already been 26 minutes plus our 5 minutes later, and they said it would be 10-15 minutes still. We sat there for 15 minutes and he handed me the food aggressively and then closed the window. I said thank you, but the guy just turned around and shut the window. We checked the receipt and it said "ready for pick up at 6:14pm, we got there at 6:19pm but it wasn't ready until 15 minutes later. We got the feeling they didn't have anything made and they got it all done while we sat in the drive through. Rude service, forgetting to get our food ordered, and all for not so great food Indian food. I'd drive to another city for some better Indian food!

A little background on how I got to this restaurant. We were on a road trip from El Paso to Dallas and was time for lunch and we looked up Google and found a 4.5 star Indian restaurant so we thought we would give it a try. We ordered vegetable fried rice, samosa chat, chilly chicken, and curd rice. But before I review the food I would like to mention the dressing of the service. The service person did not seem to have formal or presentable attire. The guy had long uncut nails and the lady was completely in casual sleepwear. That was not what we expected from such a highly rated restaurant. Now about the food, The vegetable fried rice was actually a vegetable pullav. The fried rice did not have fresh and small sliced vegetables. All the vegetables in it were huge chunks as you can see in the pictures and it was just a mixed vegetable rice. The chili chicken was very hot and we couldn't even finish it. The saving Grace was the curd rice but it was served without even a pickle and I had to ask the service for the pickle and she was not sure if the pickle was served with the curd rice. She had to head back into the kitchen and get it after 5 minutes. As you can see in the pictures, we did not finish even half of the food that was served. However, we finished the curd rice which could have had a little bit more curd in it. During payment, the service lady asked about the food and I gave her honest feedback that the vegetable fried rice was not. In fact, a vegetable fried rice and that the vegetables had to be sliced in the smaller pieces and it had to be fresher and her reply was that this is how it is made here. The chef was also around and she mentioned my feedback to the chef and he smiled at it and walked away. He did not care to talk or discuss the feedback with us. One thing I can be sure of is that the quantity of food is excellent and a single order of rice can easily feed two people or more. I wish the quality was as good as the quantity of food. If I was rating the food on quantity this restaurant would definitely get a five star. But since I am rating this restaurant based on the quality I would only give a single ⭐.

First of all, change the chef and the rude lady at this restaurant. We ordered 4 curries which lacked distinct flavours. It looked and tasted same as if it was made using the same food colour (same red and yellow coloured) and curry base. The food quality definitely needs improvement. Additionally, the lady at this location was not at all welcoming. On call (before we arrived) she gave incorrect information about menu availability. She was rude to other staff members too. While other staff were generous and welcoming. There is high chance you may expect customers at the time of closing due to this location on busy I20. Instead of being rude at-least try to accommodate the customers and focus on less menu items with some decent tasted food.
