Recensioni di Ming Kee Kitchen Albee Square
Super friendly English speaking staff and awesome food. My family and I have been getting roast pork and duck from here for years and it never disappoints! The roast duck is wonderfully tender and fatty with delicious skin. I always get it with some ginger and soy sauce. Pro tip: order with rice during the lunch special for a perfect meal on a budget. The same can be said about the roast pork which has the crispiest skin I’ve had from Chinatown. Ming Kee Kitchen is a gem amongst the many other restaurants in Chinatown. Come here if you want delicious and affordable duck and pork to take home or dine in. Don’t forget dessert with the many bakeries and boba shops nearby!
As Singaporeans we went back to back in 2 days for good value for money Chinese Food.
This place really is the bomb good prices and lots of flavor, super underrated
Ok... walking through Chinatown. Your girl wants wonton soup. And you find this shop. GO. DO IT. Combo duck and pig (see pic). Wonton soup. Amazing. Fried rice. Thumbs up.
Got the pork, mustard green, egg soup. $10 and they give you tea too! Really good if you're not eating gluten (not celiac safe)

Great hole in the wall restaurant with authentic Chinese food! Not sure what the others are expecting for the price in terms of atmosphere and decor but the food was fire! Cash only but savings are passed onto us
You cannot come here and expect Michelin style service. This is a old school local restaurant in Chinatown and is a good spot for a quick lunch or affordable dinner. I am a millennial but I frequent this restaurant because it is important to me to keep these local restaurants open for the benefit of the community. Their lunch specials are $8.50 everyday and there is a huge selection of dishes you can choose from. You can get walnut shrimp for dinner for around $20 whereas every other restaurant in the neighborhood charges $30 now.
No frills, hole in the wall, authentic as authentic you can get Cantonese food. This is the place you want great homey meals minus the michellin appearance and michellin price

My experience here wasn’t bad. I read the reviews and this looks like a place that must be skipped. But I think they made some great food for me and it was fresh. They did take like 15 minutes to make it but I really liked it. I liked their fried rice, it’s probably the best I have ever had. Tips: they don’t take cards nor do they speak english. I just grabbed a menu and pointed out the things I wanted. Would recommend their fried rice 👌🏼 Btw, I got my stuff to go and it was still hot after almost two hours of being packed. I will be going again.
Great little spot to grab Chinese food on the run in China Town NYC. Recommending the steamed 🥟 dumplings and the duck 🦆 noodle soup 🍜 the broth can bring the dead to life it’s so amazing!!!
Cash only. It’s a no frills restaurant in Chinatown. It’s one of my go to restaurants in Chinatown for take out. I either get their lunch specials, chow fun or roast pork.
Ming Kee Kitchen is a casual old school Chinatown restaurant. interior is well-maintained, but maintains a gritty feel. roast meats (pork belly, duck, roast pig, etc) over rice are handled at the order counter where the meats are on display. beyond the order counter is a bunch of tables for in-restaurant dining. it’s very much a value casual restaurant when you’re in the mood for familiar Chinese dishes. was in the mood for veggies and ordered the eggplant in garlic sauce over rice for takeout. my food took a little bit of time to make but i didn’t mind the wait as it was worth the wait. the food was piping hot. serving was ample—you’ll definitely have leftovers. the eggplant was sautéed and seasoned well. the rice soaked up the sauces. savory and tasty meatless comfort food. my expectations weren’t high when i ordered but i was impressed by the quality and value of this dish. eggplant in garlic sauce over rice, $7 + tip. staff were nice and seemed genuinely. helpful with other customers. cash only and possibly zelle/venmo.

Walked into Ming Kee kitchen today accidentally with starving belly when landed hours late in NYC. A hot pot of welcome tea right after seating, thankful in a cold and damp day! The noodle soup with shredded duck meat is typical Cantonese flavor, and the salty fish pellets sauted chicken is authentic. The diced barbecue pork fried rice is a disappointment, felt like soy sauce over-poured, and over-fried smell. Well, felt this is a place for most of work bees to get a homemade dishes quickly regularly with a very fair price in NYC, very decent owner. I was commenting it's even less expensive than the similar dish in Dallas nowadays (Chinese restaurants in Dallas generally are crazily over priced without significant quality upgrade). Found an interesting thing, a white pipe standing next to the wood wall in the restaurant. Guess what the function is?😁
specials for january 2026, $7 daily special
Very standard Chinese food, nothing exciting or special here ...

I had the Sauteed Eggplant with garlic sauce, because one of reviews had written that it was good, it was not for my taste. I also had the Egg noodle soup with wonton and roasted duck, the wonton is average at best, but the duck was good. I had a big appetite since this is my brunch. Their prices for the food are cheaper than a regular chinese resto in the DMV area, cash only basis, you often get what you pay for, a classic adage.

We went with a big spective on the food. We probably didn't order the best option. The dumplings probably are not their strongest dish. But there was a big crowd of people eating and there food looks fantastic. We will be back.
I dont know the comments in this is everybody opinion but like you know the food is good I mean they give like a big plate of rice I mean a pork fried rice that keeps you full only thing is theyres a lady that works in the front that has like an attitude but they serve tea
Concerning hygiene practices: bugs flying around and i watched the waitress serve me rice with the same hands she just handled cash for take out. Also, really struggled to chew the pepper short rib — whatever it is, it definitely was not quality meat.
The plates were dirty and the duck had little meat, mostly bones. They also demanded a tip dispite the terrible customer service. Would not return or recommend.

visited this restaurant recently with my coworkers, and unfortunately, it was not a good experience. The first couple of bites were okay, but as we kept eating, the taste started to change and reminded us of the unpleasant smell you’d encounter at a live poultry market. It was hard to enjoy the meal after that. To make matters worse, my coworker and I both ended up with stomach problems soon after eating here. We even had to call out of work the next day because of it. This was my second time eating here, and the first visit was perfectly fine, so I’m not sure what went wrong this time. I’m willing to believe this was just a fluke, but once I get stomach issues from a place, that’s a red flag I can’t ignore. Unfortunately, I won’t be returning.

I wouldn't recommend this place, especially for groups and people that don’t speak Mandarin nor Cantonese. My friends and I waited 15 minutes without being given a menu, so we had to go get one ourselves. Despite speaking Chinese, other customers who arrived after us were treated with more care. The server was rude, slamming the food on our table with an angry expression. We ordered roasted pork, but were given char siu instead. When we pointed it out, they insisted char siu was the same. The food was oily, tasted like frozen meat, and the duck smelled bad. We won't be coming back ever again.
