Our family had a great time here. The food was great! Besides the classic american and mexican breakfast dishes, they also offered an interesting uzbek/korean menu. The shining star was our server Tommy, who had such a glowing personality and made us feel so welcomed and taken care of.
Definitely don’t judge a book by its cover in this instance. Walking in your first thought is, “what did I just get myself into??” Yes the decor is lacking and the dining room is very small, but not everyone has the money to renovate. The staff is extremely friendly, and yes the food has a Dennys and Norms vibe, but it’s good and definitely has more flavor than either name brand restaurant. Overall this place is great, and priced perfectly! Thank you!!
Stopped in by chance. Looking for a nice breakfast spot and happened upon Eggsellent Café. Excellent to say the least! Ordered the Eggs Benedict with crispy hashbrowns and my daughter had the kids pancakes, egg, and bacon meal. Both were delicious! Current owners took over about a year ago so any reviews you read beyond a year I might disregard. The service was fast and very friendly. Decor is still a work in progress but overall the restaurant is very clean! Definitely looking forward to my next visit.
What an amazing experience! Definitely come into this place. Highly recommended at the top of my list. Amazing prices as well. You won't find it cheaper place to eat in North Hollywood and the quality is impeccable. I highly recommend the green sauce on their chiliquiles the best version of this dish I've ever had in my life. The place doesn't look like much from the outside but once you come inside it's a warm homie feel and very clean. The owner is one of the sweetest ladies I've ever met. Come by and say hi and enjoy the best breakfast you've ever had! Hands down!!!
Came here after being told we’d have to wait 25 minutes at another cafe and glad we did for service was very fast. Does justice to its name. The young woman who was our server was especially great.
Aik is very friendly and makes sure everyone is served well. Just in front of me he let his customer have a complimentary meal because something was missing. That shows level of trust, generosity and customers loyalty. Pls be sure to ask about what's on the menu because it's been updated.
Chilaquiles are the BEST around the area! My son and I always ask for chilaquiles wherever we go and these are amazing 👏 😍, tortillas chips are made to order they have green and red the sauce is so tasty and you can order whatever type of eggs you want. All the food is great and the portions are huge and the prices are also great! There's only one waitress and she's the nicest, it's a small cute place but it's never crowded. No waiting, no hassle. Come and visit, and you won't be disappointed . Sorry no pic bc we finished them 😆
I have been coming here for a while and never disappoints. The food is amazing. Great comfort food that tastes like mom’s cooking. Service is top notch and great atmosphere with good music playing in the background. Highly recommended
Cozy environment and delicious food! I really enjoyed my Trio Burrito which came with beans and rice and your choice of salsa on the side! It was a pleasant experience and can’t wait to come again!
Had the trio burrito which was delicious, especially with their "special" salsa Verde. Both the waitress and the host were excellent and attentive! Cost of the food was absolutely affordable too!
I have ordered from this restaurant throughout the pandemic (via Ubereats) and they never disappoint. The food is always fresh and the quality never exceeds the quantity of their menu. Even when I've ordered +4 dishes I've never waited longer than thirty minutes for prep and delivery time. Thank you so much for your service, unbeatable prices, and love crafted into delicious bites.
Absolutely perfect spot for a quiet Sunday breakfast. Got the breakfast burrito and Nutella crepes. Service was fast and polite, food came out hot, everything was delicious. Maybe twenty seats in the place, so if you want something relaxed and low key this is your spot. Making this a new goto, will absolutely be back and definitely wanna try their dinner menu.
The food, the service, the music. Everything came together into a perfect brunch location. The breakfast burrito was tasty and filling, the server was incredibly friendly, the playlist was a vibe, and made for a great atmosphere. Will be back soon!
The best food in the north Hollywood district you must come by and try out the chilaquiles with meat you won’t regret thissss trust me.the staff are so nice and very professional.the music is great too it’s a real deal café. Tons of locals love it I bring all my friends here when there are visiting from out of town it’s near the airport and they open at 7am perfect thank you so much
Awesome breakfast, fantastic service! We will definitely be back. The team working today were so engaged and helpful, we thought they were the owners. When we asked they said “We just have so much passion for this place.” The passion shows in the food quality too. Among our group we had eggs, toast, Greek omelette, corned beef hash, and the best awesome chilaquiles I’ve had a restaurant (my wife’s are the only ones better I’ve had!). All the food was great! Thank you Tommy, Brittany, and team. Happy New Year!
I dropped in (I’m from out of town) and found a goldmine! Great, friendly service and delicious food. Beef omelet was chock full of fresh ingredients and iced coffee was perfect. A family friendly atmosphere where you can talk to the “regulars” if you want. Everyone is happy to be here—both regulars and newcomers. HIGHLY highly recommend this little local place.
Unassuming hole-in-the-wall that surprised us with an amazing breakfast. Prices are great, the food was delicious, and the portions were huge! I definitely recommend this spot to locals and tourists alike for great, affordable eats. We went on a Sunday morning and there was no wait. There is a small kids menu available. Parking is small as it is in a strip mall, and the other option would be to park on the street. At the time we went, parking was not an issue, though I'm not sure what are the peak hours.
Small hole in the wall with truly delicious food, decent prices and great service. Food came out quickly and piping hot! Breakfast burrito is good sized and comes with rice, beans & chips! Almost passed right by but so glad we didn't.
Yum! So glad I found this little gem. Food is yummy and reasonably priced! You get a good amount out food. I had the bacon, tomato, avocado and cheese omelette and it hit the spot. I really like their hash browns. They have a good crunch to them. I like that it has a mom & pop feel to it. This is my second time here (first time dining in) and the service has been great. Will def come back with my family.
I came specifically for the Chilaqueles!! Couldnt decide between red and green so I went with half and half, both were so delicious. My husband however had the trio burrito and that too was delicious. The salsa is home made and it came with a side of rice and beans which were also delicious. Portion of the food was good size too. Loved the atmosphere and service, you can tell this place has regulars because the hostess was greeting some of them by name. If I lived here I would definitely be a regular too! Hostess (also our waitress) was great too, very attentive and super friendly.
I am not sure how I found this place but I definitely hit the spot and I am coming back. Breakfast and Chilaquiles are extremely good. The eggs are perfectly cooked, the salsa has amazing flavor, the hash browns are crispy and fresh. If you are looking for a good breakfast, at affordable cost, this is it. They have amazing other items in the menu. Service is 10 out of 10, the guys are very attentive and polite. It’s an enjoyable meal for sure.
Don’t judge a book by its cover! The outside is not much of a looker also the inside space is a little small so probably not for big groups. But food tasted great, and the portions were big especially for the price. The staff was super nice and friendly. We had the chilaquiles and the house omelette
Fantastic Breakfast Spot with Plenty of Choices! This cafe is a gem! They offer a great variety of breakfast options to suit any taste, and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh, well-prepared, and served promptly. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive, making the entire experience even more enjoyable. Whether you’re craving something hearty or light, this place has you covered. Highly recommend it for a perfect start to your day!
Finally a place that makes real Crepé... for years places try to pawn off pancake mix as a crepé... its not this here is homemade style. Banana & Nutella i had delicious. Hopefully in future they expand and include savory crepé options!!!! :-) All the food delicious but as you can see i found my favorite!!!
Very happy unplanned stop. We didn’t even see it when we drove by the first time because the storefront was facing the same direction we were driving. The atmosphere was cozy, the staff very friendly, and the food was fantastic.
Ate at this place with my group for brunch. I ordered the carne asada burrito and French fries. The carne asada in the burrito was very very fresh and the taste reflected that with how excellent it was. The fries were seasoned so well too. The price as well was very affordable, as taking out options from the burrito in turn lowered the price for my asada and cheese only option. Service was friendly and welcoming. Very satisfied with my dining experience.
It’s our second time being here and we just love it. It’s a cozy vibe and both times we found a table without a wait. The service is fast and friendly and we always leave feeling very satisfied.
Friendly, laid-back excellent food the café de olla was incredible and the omelettes where exactly how we asked for them. A must visit and revisit!!
"Eggcellent!" In my Mr. Burns voice! What a clever name for an amazing cafe. The food here is off the charts! I usually only get breakfast but I learned today that their taco platter is huge and delicious! And the staff is so friendly and quick. Great place for a quick bite OR a sit down meal with family or friends.
the menu has changed, the presentation has become better, they added fruits to the dishes, the waitresses, as I understand it, speak English and Russian, with the change of the menu the taste has remained the same, very good
Came for breakfast. I think breakfast stops at 3pm. Biscuits and gravy with eggs were good. Service was friendly and down to earth.
Eggsellent pancakes and French toast with a wonderful mom and pop staff. Delicious breakfast and friendly individuals that didn't skimp out with the butter and maple syrup.
This place is so great ! I loved the green chilaquiles with chicken, sooo delicious 😋 Brittaney was sooo attentative always made sure my coffee was filled and kept my table clean ! Definitely coming back very soon such good atmosphere here 🙌🏼 😌
OK. This is just the place I've been looking for - good food, smiling faces, a full belly, and a fair check. Go see Gaby (tell her Nicholas sent you). Visit the Eggsellent Cafe; it's on Whitsett and Oxnard. Highly recommended.

Nice quaint little place that you can sit inside or outside. I opted for the pancake special.. The eggs were cooked just the way I ordered, the bacon was just the way I like and the pancakes were nice and fluffy. The sweet tea wasn't exactly as I had expected it to be. It tasted like it was out of a bottle or can.
This is a little hole-in-the-wall with 10 tables for breakfast and lunch. This restaurant has its quirks, but was an enjoyable experience overall. I arrived abut 20 minutes after they opened (7am), the lights were out, but the door was open. There was no waitress or hostess. The cook came from the back and took my order. The waitress showed up about 10 minutes later. I ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs. It came with toast and hashbrowns. I was not asked what bread I wanted, and got white toast. The food was decent and flavorful. The sawmill gravy was one of the best I found in LA. It had small chunks of sausage and plenty of pepper. The service is friendly, but not attentive. I had to go up to the register to grab utensils.
Update: Seems like the place has new ownership and has lot of its charm that I loved. The food is still okay, but feels like it lacks that authenticity and love in it that I enjoyed. The menu has changed, the decor has well, but not necessarily for the better. We LOVE this place. Gaby is so nice and welcoming and the food is so great. The Chilaquiles is one of the best things on the menu and their homemade salsa is amazing.
How I feel about this place with the new management. I used to come to this place almost every weekend with my wife, but now it’s not the same. The things that changed, the food quality dipped from the last time I was there. I had the chilaquiles with avocado on top, the food didn’t taste the excellent, with the moldy avocado on top that didn’t help much with my decision of coming back. Also the service isn’t bad, it’s just doesn’t feel like it used to be, with the service, I don’t feel the welcoming vibes when Gabby the waitress used to work at this restaurant. With the food quality, service and also the food prices went up, well I think I need to find another breakfast restaurant to enjoy my weekends at and that very sad. 😞
Decided to stop here while in the area. First off, the parking spaces are very limited for this plaza, which has quite a few businesses on site. We walked in and got greeted and seated right away. The lady took our order, and she was very friendly and patient with our kids deciding what they wanted to eat. Now the food, I ordered the Chilaquiles divorciados with chorizo and over easy eggs. Parts of the chorizo were burnt completely, and I got scrambled eggs instead of over easy. My wife ordered their salmon Benedict, and they were served with a mountain of hollandaise sauce, and it was too chunky. My oldest ordered a side of fries. Well, it seems like they hand-picked each fry, very small amount for the price of a sidenif fries, and they sprinkled way too much salt on them. My youngest ordered an apple juice, which he never received. Overall, the food had an okay flavor, but unfortunately, we won't be returning here.
Had the salmon eggs Benedict. The quality of the food was of a standard run of the mill diner food; unrefined and forgettable. The decor was poor, alongside the surrounding area which was a crowded intersection with little parking. On a positive note the staff was friendly and the food was fast and the portions were large. This place was like a Norms or a Noho diner without all the nice decor and ambiance.

Came in to make a to go order. I needed to use the restroom and they said that nobody could go back there. They even have a permanent decal on their front window saying so. It just so happens that the Board of Health that gives them their rating ensures that if you provide seating for people to eat that you must provide a bathroom. Only after informing them of that did they begrudgingly let me use the restroom as paying customer!
Been coming here for a couple of years, there is a new cook & owners. My favorite was the Cafe de Olla, I only had two sips & didn't touch it again, it was not the same cozy Cafe de Olla from before, perhaps they added too much of something because it left a weird spicy aftertaste and smelled odd too. The chilaquiles were ok, didn't taste quite the same as before, both sauces seem too plain & lacked flavor. Waffle was too hard, but maybe next time we will ask for it to be on the softer end, we didnt have to specify before. Overall the vibe was different, hope next visit will be better if we decide to go back.
Came on a Sunday. Very small restaurant and only one server who is also the cashier. He was trying and nice but seems like a bit too much for one person. I Asked for a burrito a la carte and they brought it with rice and beans. The coffee mug had lipstick. We got no syrup with the pancakes. The food was alright. Definitely wouldn’t go out of my way for this place.
Sad to say , this place was good with previous management. New management leaves much to be desired. Lady at register seems to not like her job, comes across as rude. No customer service skills .on top of that . wouldn't let me use the restroom.. I like to wash my hands before I eat. Drove a hour for the cafe de olla .. total let down 👎 taste is no good .. cup only filled to 3/4. Won't be back.
They need to update their menu because most things we wanted (huevos rancheros, chorizo and eggs) were no longer being served? And so we all ended up ordering breakfast burritos that they could only make with ham. They brought us fries for breakfast as well instead of the listed rice & beans. Also took nearly an hour for just burritos.
Tommy waited on us and was patient and humorous. The food was very adequate and tasty. Coffee was rather tasteless. A good breakfast joint with a rather complete menu of breakfast and some lunch items.
Tried to go in at 8:30 a.m. on a Sunday. Could see somebody inside, but the doors were locked, when I tried calling, nobody answered the phone, and I was not able to leave a voicemail. I was excited to go, Google says they open at 7:00 a.m. not sure why the guy looked at me through the door and didn't allow me to go inside
