I was visiting family in California, and they invited us to his restaurant, the food was phenomenal and great service. They have a great selection of different sauces you can use with your meals and everything was excellent. I would definitely come back and tell friends about this place.

My favorite Mexican restaurant!!! The food here is 🔥🔥🔥 and the portions are huge!!! They have a wide selection of salsa from mild-picante! Great drinks and friendly service. Only one downside, they can have long wait times at dinner so just be patient it's well worth the wait. Oh and unless you have a gargantuan appetite you'll definitely be taking home a doggy bag. Almost for forgot, the bean dip is delicious but try not to eat too much of it, you'll need the room for your actual dinner.

It's good Mexican comfort food at a cheap price. Although they just raised their prices it's still reasonable for what you're getting. Portions are huge I pretty much always leave with some to go. The hennchata is really good and so are the Micheladas oh and the chili relleno is legit. Just be aware there is always a huge wait there's no getting around it so have someone reserve your table while you're waiting for parking. I would avoid this place for football games

This place is the best authentic Mexican restaurant. :) It is always consistent and delicious. There is a small parking lot in the back of the restaurant and in busy times, there is a line of cars waiting for people to leave so that they may park. Their prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. I always get the cream chicken enchiladas but you can order just about anything and it would be delicious :)

You are one of those who like MEXICAN CARNE ASADA like me. Then stop looking this place is perfect you will love it, don't come here little hungry, come to this place very hungry, they serve you food like no other place do. I got the Carne Asada and shrimp, GIVE A LIKE IF YOU AGREE WITH ME. that this place is great, make sure that if you are trying this place come during weekdays before 5:00PM, because it gets very busy.

Most of the time, I do carry out...eating in the comfort of my own home. Prices found on the internet are not updated. What my husband and I order..according to the internet should've been no more than 25 bucks...well we ended up paying about 47 dollars...Food still is great..atmosphere a little loud but not bad..

UPDATE: I just can't stop coming here every chance I get. Salsa & Beer has THE best Mexican food I've ever tasted anywhere hands down. My favorite is the Tacos Mexico plate. 3 tacos. 1 chicken, 1 steak, and one carnitas. These tacos always blow my mind! I don't know what they season the meat with but it tastes like heaven. Parking can be challenging and you will probably wait some time to be seated but it is well worth the wait.

Came here to celebrate Father's day with my father and father-in-law. The wait is crazy, but we prepared and came two hours early. We actually got offered a table sooner than expected, but had to wait for the family to show up. Food was DELICIOUS. ordered 6 entrees, 2 appetizers, and 3 sodas, and it cost less than $90. Everyone had leftovers too! Management is amazing and all the staff are wonderful. Definitely recommend this place to everyone!

This place is great, tasty food and drinks at reasonable prices. Great atmosphere and decorations. This place gets very crowded so expect to wait for a table. Singles and couples may get a seat at the bar faster, we did. There is a small parking lot and parking in the area is difficult. If you put your name on the list they will text you when your table is ready. Friendly staff and surprisingly fast service considering the amount of people. Try it, you will like the food and drinks.

Parking on weekends can be tricky. No reservations. Service is pretty quick. Adult drinks are good. The spices are great. Food is good quality.

Great Mexican food. The portions were huge, we had meals for another day. The chips and salsa were already super delicious. The rice and beans were very tasty and the chipotle chicken burrito was nice and spicy. We also had one of the Tortas. The lemonade were really nice, a bit on the sweeter side. All in all a great place to eat. We had to wait for a bit as it is a very popular restaurant and they don‘t take reservations.

The bean dip was amazing with just enough bite and the portion size is worth the money. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. The only downside is parking. Small lot behind the building and they have an overflow lot but just not enough for how many people the restaurant can accommodate. They also have 2 bars which is nice to watch games. It was right down the street from Burbank airport as well making it a great stop for lunch before catching our flight.

Had such a great time. The food has so much flavor, cooked right, price is right. 4 patron margaritas, fajita for 2 , Chile relleno, and a fry, 93 dollars. Salsa bar was awesome. And gives military discount! Bomb! Will come again!

The restaurant has a nice ambiance with a number of great Hispanic photos on the walls. The food is great in size, is super delicious and priced very reasonable. The servers are attentive and fast. It is an all around gem. But most people in the valley are aware of Salsa and Beer. The Sherman way location is it.

I got a chile relleno that was HEAVENLY. I grew up in the Imperial Valley so I’m use to Mexican food that is similar in style to Northern Baja California and this hit the mark. Also, the best rice I’ve ever had. Will go there again. Will tell anyone I know to go there.

This place is SOOOO good. I can't even tell you. I don't even like chicken at all ever but I would eat this chicken every day. Portions are huge but that doesn't take away from the quality. From the time that you enter the lot to the point that you leave the service is amazing. They have a guy in the lot that helps direct cars where to park who was super nice and helpful. At no point that we were eating did I think, "Where's our waitress"? Best service I have encountered in a long time. I can't recommend this place enough. Going to tell all my friends and family. ❤️

Wow!!! We were recommended Salsa & Beer by an LA Local, specifically the Sherman Street(?) Branch. We went on a Friday evening and were warned that, due to its popularity, it may be very busy. They were right! In fact, we had to queue to get access to the car park but they were well organised and had a parking attendant, ensuring people were parked in order (1-in-1-out). We didn't have a reservation so thought there was a chance we wouldn't even get seated but the hostess team immediately put us on the list and we were seated in a nearby waiting area. We were not waiting long in the grand scheme of things at all. We were shown to a booth and immediately given tortilla chips and refried beans. They were also refilled (probably unnecessarily) before they were even finished. Our waiter was friendly and our food was quick. The food was flavoursome and the portions enormous. Both Mum and I had enough left over for dinner the next night (they give you good quality plastic take away boxes). The at sphere was fantastic. Heavy on the theming and loud with music and chatter... If this is your vibe, then please go!

Salsa & Beer is a fantastic restaurant for great drinks, amazing service, delicious food, and an ambiance that fits all preferences. I personally love the patio (old parking lot) seating but the dark and mysterious indoors is great for those who prefer a little less natural light. Amazing staff. I honestly cannot say enough good things about how wonderful the staff are. They are so refreshingly collaborative, it's amazing. You ask your server for something and the next thing you know someone is bringing it to you to help your server. The teamwork is seriously phenomenal. Ok, enough about the amazing staff, now let's talk food. WOW! The food is so good! 🔥 🔥 🔥 I can honestly say I have not had one bad meal at Salsa & Beer. I am partial to their cream dishes and shrimp, but it's all amazing. I am not from California, but I make sure to stop at Salsa & Beer ever time I am in LA. 100% FULLY RECOMMEND!! P.S. Where do I begin??? Cons/downfall : when it gets busy, it gets busy and the long wait can go over an hour. My suggestion is, if you go when it’s busy make sure you’re not that hungry but know that you will be after waiting 15 minutes. Pros/upside: The FOOD and DRINKS are amazing, salsas are delicious and the food portions are big. We have been coming to this location since it opened because we enjoy everything about this place. The staff members are pleasant and quick to get you something, unless it’s lunch or dinner time when they get swamped but even then, the staff really try’s. We love, love this place.

Salsa & Beer is absolutely amazing and the food is some of the best food around! The Cadillac Margaritas are to die for! The chip starters are delicious and clearly homemade. All the food is so yummy, I fully recommend anything on the menu. Every time we visit California I MUST stop here for a meal and a drink. The staff are all amazing and so friendly. They all treat every guest like family and take such excellent care of every patron. Speaking of staff, Christian is so fantastic and was so attentive during our visits. He took excellent care of us and is one of the reasons we come back time and time again. We hope next time we return he will be our waiter! Sergio is one of the sweetest and funniest members of the staff and always makes sure our drinks are full. Maria is also a rockstar at the bar and has a fantastic personality. Salsa & Beer is highly recommended by myself and my family!

I feel like I’ve wasted two decades of my life eating anywhere else. This place is an absolute powerhouse. The Food (aka Heaven on a Plate) From the moment you sit down, they hook you. That bean dip they bring out with the chips? I could honestly eat it with a spoon and call it a day. It’s creamy, savory, and dangerously addictive. But the real star of the show was the Carne Asada Burrito. * The Meat: Perfectly seasoned, tender, and actually tasted like it came off a grill, not a steam tray. * The Size: Huge. Come hungry or prepare for leftovers. * The Flavor: Every bite was better than the last. It’s easily one of the best burritos I’ve had in the valley, if not all of SoCal. Drinks & Service You can’t come here and skip the Margaritas. They are delicious—strong enough to know they’re there, but fresh enough to go down way too easily. The service was incredibly fast. We weren't left waiting for refills or checking our watches for our entrees. The staff moves like a well-oiled machine. Final Verdict I can’t believe how much of a fantastic place this is. Highly Recommended!! So we went for lunch on a Saturday!! Parking was free and a little hectic however we got VIP (Handicap) parking. We only waited about 5 minutes for our table. From the moment we sat down she was welcoming, attentive, and had such a great energy that made the whole meal even better. Ericka provided incredible service the entire time. She checked on us just the right amount, made sure everything came out right, and had a warm personality that made us feel like valued guests instead of just another table. On top of that, the food was absolutely amazing. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and came out perfectly. This place is awesome. The interior feels very cottagey/Dutch with all the wooden beams and features. Feels well loved and lived in. There was a wait but they have a good queue system with texts to let you know when to come back in. At first the food seemed expensive but the portions are huge. I got 2 meals worth from the fajitas platter and the free chips and bean dip. Highly recommend.

Love salsa & beer. I literally come for their famous bean dip. It’s my favorite thing! I’ve been coming here for years and this last visit made me happy. We didn’t have to wait too long for a table. There’s been times where we’ve had to wait over an hour. And this time we only waited 30 mins even tho they said it would be about an hour wait. The service was great. Our waitress was attentive and made sure we got all our plates. All the dishes are huge so you’ll have leftovers for sure. I totally recommend checking out this restaurant. They have lots of locations too and all the locations have the same good quality of food. We love ordering the burritos, combo plates and the shrimp cocktail. The enchiladas are probably my least favorite dish they have. One thing to note is that there is a different price if you pay cash or card. Card is more expensive so make sure to bring cash. This is a great authentic Mexican restaurant and if you haven’t been, you are definitely missing out!

I've been coming here for years and it remains one of my very favorite places. I swear I ordered and turned around and my food was there! You can't go wrong with their fajitas. So good. They have a nice variety of salsas, try them all!!! There can be a line for dinners, but it's worth the wait. This visit was lunch on a Sunday, and we got a table straight away. Strawberry margaritas are perfect. Be prepared to bring home leftovers - life doesn't get better than that.

What a great restaurant! We visited Salsa and Beer for our monthly friend’s meetup and I was very impressed. The ambiance is quiet, comfy, very homestyle. The sever was prompt friendly and took great care of us during our visit. Let’s talk drinks. We ordered margaritas. I had a classic on the rocks, my friend ordered strawberry on the rocks. I don’t know what was in these drinks, but by the end of our meal I couldn’t even tell you my name.😂 Really strong, delicious drink. Meals: I had the combo fajita-Steak, chicken, shrimp on a bed of veggies, rice, beans, tortillas on the side. Portions are huge. The food is well-seasoned. Just really good. My daughter had chicken enchiladas, which she inhaled. The chips and spicy bean dip for the table was tasty as well. My daughter was the only dessert person. She had a chocolate chip ice cream, that appeared to have been fried, garnished with cinnamon tortilla chips, drizzled with chocolate and dotted with whip cream…like what? She was in a food coma after that one. What a great experience. The parking is a little tricky, but the attendant is professional and patient. We had no accessibility issues with my daughter’s wheelchair(if that is important to you. Highly recommend this restaurant for families and friends.

Want good Mexican food in LA? The golden rule is to eat where (real) Mexican people eat. This is one of those places. This place is great. Trying to get a seat here; that experience? Not great! But the bean dip is everything. I always end up eating too much because I got hungry from the super long wait.

Beware of their new credit card surcharge that is almost 4% for every cc transaction. The wait time was ridiculous for a Tuesday almost forty minutes for a party of five. Parking still sucks but the food makes up for it. Great prices and excellent taste.

Authentic Mexican cuisine! Portion size is craaaazy so make sure you take that into account! The fold is delicious and flavorful! Loved the shrimp ceviche (shrimp cocktail) and got the shrimp and chicken combo platter. The rice is phenomenal too! Also loved the guac!

Use to go here all the time because it was great food for an inexpensive price. Now, they are pretty expensive but the quality of food hasn't changed at all! So delicious! They're only getting four stars instead of five because my cocktail was more mixer than anything and it was 20 dollars.

Fun place! Good service. They have a cool bar area you can eat at, or you can choose to wait for a table. The only thing is that the parking lot fills up real quick, so you literally have to wait 5-10 min to be able to get in the back parking lot on the little side street. Don't park in front of other properties though, even the liquor store will have you towed. The flavors of margaritas was amazing, and they were great tasting as well!

Got inside and it was packed, people were everywhere! My friend stood for about 10 minutes and I think we got lucky again and found some people leaving so got 3 seats at the bar. Bartenders were great and friendly. Service was prompt and the people there were great (the patrons). We ended talking to a few people, which were cool. My friend ordered "Camarones al mojo de ajo", which is the garlic shrimp with rice and beans. It looked good but I didn't have any of it. We had 2 pitchers of Modelo and the food, and it wasn't that expensive. They have TVs everywhere with sports on. And it's pretty loud inside. Most people speak Spanish, so it would help to speak Spanish!

First time here. Short wait to get seated. Servers were nice. Food came out very quickly. The bean dip was good. Also got a side of guacamole, also good. I had the #8 combo with a chili relleno, enchilada and taquitoes. The servings here are large! My wife had the carne asada and rice. For desert we split a flan. All the food was very tasty. It was also delivered extremely quick. Expect to bring some food home. I'd give a 5 rating of it were not for the fact that there was little follow up after the food came, and the parking is terribly small for the amount of business. Expect to queue up or walk if you park on the street.

Salsa & Beer is an amazing spot. Everything we tried tasted fantastic, their chips + bean dip were pretty good, and the bar was a great spot to chill until our table was ready. Like everyone else here is saying, expect to wait for your table. I’d honestly suggest using the Yelp waitlist feature (you can put your name in ahead on the waitlist), otherwise you might be waiting for 1-2 hours. Also wouldn’t recommend parking in the lot at peak hours - expect to park a couple blocks away. Overall, the food was fantastic and the staff friendly. Being VERY busy isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it’s something to take into consideration here. Would I wait 2 hours again for salsa & beer? Maybe not.. but I’m glad I went and will be back.

If you're looking for good drinks and authentic Mexican food, then you should check this place out. I like how you get unlimited chips and salsa, and how they offer all kinds of salsa. They fajita combo plate is a great choice. I would just prefer the vegetables to be cut smaller in the fajitas so it cooks better. The tomatoes in the salsa were also cut big. Lastly, parking is limited during prime times.

First time trying this place out. We had chicken molcajete and shrimp spicy special burrito molcajete, which were delicious, a little more spicy than expected but very tasty. Portions were so huge that we had leftovers from both plates. Each plate could definitely serve two people. The complimentary chips and bean dip they provide were also very good! We also ordered a tamarind margarita which was very well made and tasty, can’t wait to go back for another one! Knocking off a star as, although server was nice and attentive, we were not informed of the salsa bar and only learned from hearing her explain it to another table. Also, we were not informed of fee charged for using a card to pay for bill. We only realized it when we questioned discrepancy in final receipt. Appears they charge around a 2-3% fee on top of your bill if you plan to use a card to pay. Other than that we plan to return, really enjoyed the food and ambiance.

I've been here 3 time now and I can accurately say this is some of the best Mexican food in the valley. Every single time the food has been excellent. The service is usually very fast but sometimes can be hit or miss as any restaurant really. But everyone is always very friendly and trying they're hardest. This place can just get crazy busy sometimes and it's hard to really fault them for those times. Parking though is an absolute Madhouse. If you can find parking down the street do it and walk there will be much better off. As I said before food is amazing, and drinks are excellent as well. The price is honestly surprising for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. We have quite a drive to get here but we still take the time to come here quite offend. If you're in the area or you're planning a trip to the area I would definitely recommend coming here.

Food was great!!! Service was great!! It was eleven of us celebrating my daughter's birthday so we were kind of crowded into their longest table. Portions are big enough to take some delicious leftovers home for later! Parking was a bit testy, we had to wait for people to leave parking spaces.

Place is fast. Large portions with fast turn around on orders. Do not go expecting to change how your meal is prepared. Went twice and they will not cook something to specifications. Which is fine since they are consistent and quick. Would for sure recommend planning on leftovers or split a meal. There is a salsa bar with lots of options. If you are going for lunch or any busy times, the lot may be full requiring offsite parking.

Food was amazing, authentic and delicious and the salsa bar was unique. This is clearly a popular spot with huge local demand. All that being said, our waiter, EDGAR, was a jerk. Dude acted like we were a burden unto his personal life, like we were imposing upon his night. Right from the get go he gave us the cold shoulder, almost as if patrons had no right to not be ready to place their order the moment they sit down. He re-visited our table three times in the course of a two hour meal. Also, was pissed when we ordered a to-go meal through another waitress. Edgar was a toxic lil man and I think someone should chat with him about the face you bring to service work. Also attached is a picture of Edgar so he can’t weasel his way out of this bad review. Got seated right away went 30 mins after opening order the creamy enchilada plate and the strawberry mango margarita the food is served big portions so I ended up taking the rest home

This is a wonderful experience. The restaurant is gorgeous. The attention to detail is superb. You could tell it is a popular restaurant as it was a Monday and it was packed. Even when we left, there was a line of cars waiting for a parking spot. The beans had a nice spicy kick to them. The salsa selection is obviously great. The food was good. My only concern was that the tortillas were not authentic. They had the preservative smell and taste.

Update 1/11... They also put their own price in for creama, in just a few mths it goes from 9,12,16 rediculouse. They could do better, salsa is not good. Steak fajita was typical. So I went back today (12-16-2022), and prices have gone up. Just 1 soda is 4.95. Our bill was 70.00, my husband and I shared, and my daughter and her son shared. But 4 drinks was 20.00. The place was ridiculously expensive and crowded. Update: 6/25/23 decided to give this place a second chance, and overall, things have remained the same. The steak was 1-2 minutes overcooked and could've used a better cut. The salsa bar wasn't the cleanest, and one of the busboys had a slight attitude once we'd asked for a cleaner table, and his cleaning rag had a sour smell. Aside from that, everything else remained the same. They also charge 3.00 dollars to use your card to pay. September 16, 2023, went again, and of course, the bean dip is always good. This time, we had the crema chicken, and that was good, cost 23.95. Still high cost. But maybe that's the cost of being in California

My first time here. Friends recommended this place. On Wednesday at 7pm the place was packed. Nice looking tavern type of interior, service is fast and friendly. They offer free appetizers like bean spread, rice and chips. We got a hot cooking skillet with steam hot food - grilled veggies and 3 types of protein. The food was nice, slightly seasoned. My problem with the food was that it was spicy even tho we asked for completely not spicy option. I would say the food was above average but not great. The place is loud, people yelling and laughing out loud which is not a good option lets say for a date or a quiet lunch. The price was ok. Overall I rate this place as 3/5. I put the food taste first , then everything else.

I took my wife family here for dinner since it was my treat to her dad. He loves this place and the location so it was his choice to come here. Parking can be a hassle if you come during the busy time but they have someone to help coordinate parking and I think they have a second spot for additional parking. When we arrived at 4:30pm today (Friday), the rush hasn't happen so we were able to find parking easily. When we walked in, they were able to sit us before our whole party arrived. They brought chips and spicy beans as the dip but if you want additional salsa, they have a salsa bar that you go get yourself but they recommend wearing gloves. They didn't give us a menu probably because they want you to scan a QR code but I just look on their website. The waiter and most of the staff are wearing mask for extra protection. They sat us near a noisy table but we just had to tolerate it. I got the Carne asada combo and asked instead of the Enchiladas I wanted fries. The fries was not the best and the carne asada was okay to me. They said the plate was super hot when they brought it but when i ate the asada, it was coldm They were able to accommodate for that with no extra charges. My wife got their Cream Chicken Enchiladas and said it was a little salty but she still enjoyed it. The waiter disappeared after they brought our food so I had to flag someone down to get refill on my coke. The lighting inside the restaurant isn't the best but i guess it works for them. They have outside seating as well if you prefer that. Be aware that they charge a "customer assistance" fee so the bill they give you isn't the final amount. I was surprise too until I saw the charge after they swipe my card but I wasn't going to complain. When we left, they started getting busy and there was a line of cars waiting to park.

So this is my second time at this location. This time she were seated right away which was great compared to our last visit. The chips are served with warm bean dip instead of salsa. It is not bad but it is the same thing the serve for the beans on your combo plate which is a bit disappointing. The crispy taco was out in then middle of my dish and it was all soggy on one side. The chile relleno was below many standards I have set over the years and the rice tasted like it was out of an instant pack that was in a microwave. I must admit this was probably the most disappointing experience with the food but the service was pretty darn good. unlike our first time when it was super busy we had nice fast staff this time. Not so great food just like last time and thankfully not a long wait to be seated like I have had and seen over the years. My suggestion is to go elsewhere like Mucho Mas when they open back up soon, Ernies or Tequila are better choices overall in the area in my opinion.

We got lucky and found parking in the back. Waited about 30 minutes and received great service. Menu was hard to read on the phone and no prices are listed! If you want salsa, you have to go to the front and get it yourself. No stars deducted for the food as the portions are huge and tasty but be warned, this not your “normal” type of Mexican food as beans are not pinto and rice is more liked steamed rice.

My absolute favorite spot to satisfy my Mexican food cravings in North Hollywood. Typical wait for a party of 3 after 2 pm, approximately 43 mins. The service was off on this visit. Once seated, the waitress took close to 15 mins before she introduced herself and another 10 mins before she took our beverage orders. My boyfriend's car was hit in the parking lot by another customer who was leaving, we suspect he was likely intoxicated and should not have been driving. We enjoyed our meal when it happened but the manager took down his info and the security reported the incident. In spite of the service this time around and having our parked car getting crashed into, I would still recommend this place. Expect at least an hour wait to be seated during off peak hours and two hours during prime lunch and dinner times. Also, be warned they do charge a 4% fee for using a debit or credit card. There was no signage or advised prior to ordering our food.

I ordered the creamy chicken faultas. It wasn't what I expected. It was two big flour tortillas rolled up with chicken and grilled on two sides. I thought faultas where deep fried. I asked the waiter if my plate was the faultas plate and he said yes. He said you wanted taquitos. I just said ok. They were still good just not fried like I expected. Next time ill get taquitos. Then they will serve me enchiladas and say those are taquitos. Atmosphere is great. My table wasn't the best. Right by the door where they come in and out of the kitchen with plates. Almost had to yell at the a couple times to flip the meat on the grill. Salsa bar was damn near empty as well. The salsa I wanted was gone. It needed to be refilled.

The food was decent but the service was HORRIBLE. Our server Ruben took 10 minutes after we were seated to ask us what we want to drink. I asked for more beans and he never gave them. He ran away while taking our orders.He didn't bother coming to ask how our food was but was talking to the customers sitting next us for 3 minutes. He kept checking on other tables but ignored us. Also, parking is a nightmare. Try and park on the street.

I used to love this place, but I can’t eat here anymore because they changed the recipe. I’m extremely sensitive to spice, and my usual order used to be completely mild. Now the chicken is “spiced up,” and even after a few bites my mouth burns and my stomach hurts. I’m really disappointed. Unless the recipe goes back to the original, I don’t plan on returning.

I am going to write a review for every location this restaurant has I used to like eating here but because they created a serious problem with my husband that may turn into a lawsuit I do not recommend this restaurant the owner or the manager has not even tried to contact us I have tried to contact them since last week and it basically has fallen on deaf ears so we will pursue with a lawsuit in the next couple of days

Service was mediocre. I asked for a virgin drink. Received one with alcohol. Been suffer with a terrible headache ever since. Food is good through. Might just get take out if I ever return . Place is dirty and dark
