The 2 years I've been back here from Dubai, living in Houston havnt found any shisha that was good or worth the money. I was in town with a friend and we heard good things about Arab Cowboy so we tried it out. Best shisha I've had in a very long time service is good and friendly, has a chill laid back vibe with comfy couches. The drive it's self is worth it.

Arab Cowboy is a near perfect hookah bar for those looking to have quiet conversation, study, relax, or work. They use excellent Khalil mamoon hookahs, Al fahker, or other good tobacco, and make great coffee. The hookah does take a bit to arrive after you order, but that is because they are using natural, non instant light coals at your request, and prep the hookah so it's great to smoke as soon as it arrives. The staff is professional, and leaves you to your conversation and hookah with minimal service. Just head up to the bar with your request and they will take care of it.

Came to hang out after walking in the botanical gardens. It’s super nice and the man at the counter was very nice. Plus this is one of the only places open at 1 pm. +free WiFi

Great hookah spot. Tons of flavors and highly educated staff who always make awesome recommendations for mixes. Refills are significantly cheaper so stick around and get two! The staff is also very attentive with coals and are eager to chat you up if you'd like. BYOB as well with a fee, bit it's only like $2.50, which is cheaper than other hookah places.

Good hookah. Good people. It's a nice chill place to hang out with friends or even strangers. I think this is a great place for college kids as well being so close to the UT campus. It's pretty empty during the day, but if you decide to go you kinda get free run off the place.

I love this place. From the owner to the staff, I've gotten to know them all personally and they are great, welcoming people. The seating is comfortable and gives the feel of lounging at home. There are many food trucks around, Alpetra Plus being one of my favorites (which is a walking distance away), and we bring food and eat here all the time while getting our smoke on. Overall, it's a great place and would definitely recommend for unwinding and chilling at after a long day.

I've been going here for years. The staff is always friendly and work hard to get to know what you like. They also respect your time and try to get hookahs out as soon as possible, even when slammed. They've made me a loyalist because of their consistent high-level of service.

As an ex-hookah lounge employee and Avid hookah smoker myself, this place was honestly perfect in the weirdest ways. Every time I went with my friend, if was nice and quiet. It means we could either play our own music while sitting outside or actually talk and not have to scream over super loud music. It is BYOB which is amazing as most other places despise that policy as it loses them money, bring your own alcohol and save a ton of money. The hookah is cheap but also set up very well and tastes great, many options and they arrive at your table pretty fast too. A little bit of cleaning could be done on the outside seating/area but other than that it's quite a quiet and comfortable place to socialise. I recommend going around 10-11PM and staying 1-2 hours.

Arab Cowboy is a cleaner, more modern hookah lounge around the campus area. The layout is simple, and couches are comfy. Service is always fantastic, very attentive and humble. My go-to for hookah in west campus.

In from out of town. First night, service was really good, FIVE STARS. The option to get coconut coals vs instant coals was given when the hookahs were ordered. Mellow atmosphere. The second night, no coal option was given and instant coals were given. When we asked if we could get the coconut coals instead of the instant ones, the guy server said that the type of bowl we have doesn’t work with coconut coals. This is news to me. I’ve smoked hookah for much longer than I’d care to admit, but never have I heard Of any type of bowl that ONLY accepts instant coals. So here we are, close to $100 bucks spent on 4 hookahs, smoking with one crappy instant coal on each of our bowls even tho we asked if we could get coconut coals (less of a chemical flavor with coconut). I guess it’s something that we are supposed to know from the start? Or maybe the guy working is just too lazy? Meh. Seems pretty hit or miss. I haven’t been to any other hookah bars in the area. But $18+ per hookah is pretty steep by most standards. Even more steep when you get sub par customer service. The second night definitely left a sour taste. Gotta give two stars considering

Horrible service. As soon as I walked in I was disrespected because my car wasn’t in a lane. There is a proper way of talking. On top of that happy hour was listed till 6 pm but she didn’t want to acknowledge. Note to owner: hire more respectful employees that know customer service.

This past Friday night a friend and I got in around 1:30 to smoke. We ordered and sat down as usual, and we were especially looking back to enjoying the music that they usually played there. The previous Friday they played some of our favorite music (rap) and we greatly enjoyed it. Now, yesterday we walked in and heard our favorite artists and were ecstatic. We talked and enjoyed the music for the first 30 minutes or so, and then the music suddenly shifted to screamo metal music. We were taken aback, but they can play what they want, sure. It was incredibly loud, and we couldn't hear each other speak in our own corner. I may add that the place was not busy in the least, and we were one of probably 3 groups at the lounge. Now, let me step back and say that, even though the music was loud, we weren't annoyed or anything with the staff at this point. Despite the music blasting, we were fine, and enjoyed the hookah just fine. At this point I got up and wanted to get some more water. I stood there waiting for several minutes as the staff blatantly ignored me and carried their own conversation. Again, at this point, not a huge deal. After they finally realized that I was there, one girl took my glass and got a refill for me. When she approached me again I said "hey, is there any way I can convince you to turn the music back to rap? My friend and I were enjoying it." Nothing incendiary, nothing obnoxious. She replied, not missing a beat, that she wasn't on shift (she's behind the counter, smoking for free, and talking with the employees, alright) and that there wasn't anything she could do about it. Now, this is where I started getting mad. I looked past her and saw their iPad that was controlling the music (I knew because another girl, apparently on-shift, went over and turned down the volume on the iPad). She then said that since it was late, that they "played what they wanted," AKA get out of here, we don't listen to you. But again, she was not on her shift, but she was able to dictate the music options for the entire establishment. Not by itself a huge deal, but coupled with everything else, I was beyond frustrated. What's worse is that the heavy metal didn't stop, and really just seemed to be a way to shoo the patrons of the lounge out prematurely. I will concede that the time was beginning to approach their closing time, but regardless, it is terrible business to kick people out with outrageously loud music that was most likely not in the majority's interest. It is obvious that the management of this lounge does not have the customer's best interest and instead let's their staff run rampant with actions that don't make regular customers such as myself look forward to coming back. The disrespect that I felt from the staff here last Friday was ridiculous, and I made this account to let people know about it. Please, do yourself a favor and find another hookah lounge. Even Kasbah's staff doesn't treat you like trash.

Our first time here Tuesday night and our first impression from the receptionist was that she either didn’t want to be here or more then likely they were judging us based on appearance. Tuesday night We had sweats we were comfortable we were a group of five. Everything she said from the moment we walked up to the front counter, there was attitude behind her voice, she spoke to us as if we were bothering her and had no smile or no friendliness in her dull personality. We were told our Beers would be kept up front and someone would be by checking on us also bringing us beers if we needed. No one came by. In fact by the time the same front desk lady came to change our coals we said Thank you and she rudely walked away they were all throwing stuff around slamming things everywhere and gave us a completely unwelcoming vibe. At 2 am on the dot we were asked to leave for closing, as we were walking out we couldn’t help but notice there were still other people hookaing and at the bar still. I honestly wish From the moment we walked in a noticed the negative energy coming from the all of the staff, i wish we would have spent our money elsewhere. As a business owner myself please remind all Staff, that in in any customer service industry GOOD VIBES MATTER.

Host was very rude. Absolutely the worst service I’ve ever had because the entire staff laughed in my face when I told them I felt they were so rude to me because they said “you don’t need to stay here you can leave” Really disturbing.

They play music until three in the morning and then they schedule roofers with nail guns to come at 8 in the morning the next day on the weekend both Saturday and Sunday. Thanks guys... how am I supposed to get any sleep?

Dear business owners, I own and operate a hookah lounge myself and these two girls are bringing your business down, they have a horrible attitude and they’re not welcoming. If there was a way to give a zero star I would have done so. Advise: teach them how to do the job right, and not give customers an attitude, over 200 people are moving to Austin on the daily. And hookah lounges are a targeted place for visitors especially from the Middle East. Very bad service. The staff used to treat customers better last year but now they're terrible. They are very dry. They replaced my coals every 15 minutes while my coals were still fresh. Then when I actually needed some more and my tobacco had plenty of life in it, the lady rudely responded and said "I already gave you your last set of coals an hour ago." I was minding my own business the entire time and was working on my laptop for two hours. There was no disclosure that there would be a "last set" anyway. She kept avoiding me as if I were the coronavirus. I've been to many other hookah bars in the Austin area and they are hospitable. I gave Arab Cowboy 5 stars a year ago and was a repeat customer. This is my last time here. NEVER AGAIN!!

I got a boot on my truck for parking in there open parking lot. Walked in and asked for help and they were rude saying they didn’t know what to do. I wouldn’t recommend them for anything.
