Perhaps some of the best Indian food in NYC. Every dish was Innovative, expertly presented and delicious. Nandini, our server / bartender for the day was fantastic! Will definitely visit soon.

Me and my friends went to Ishq during the NYC restaurant week. We were kinda underwhelmed with their service. However, the food was amazing especially the andhra chili gobi, bangla kodi & butter chicken. Overall, I will rate them 8/10.

Ishq chaandi hai, ishq sona hai - for my Bollywood loving friends - you'll get the reference! One word - spectacular! Made reservations, and if you have a well behaved child, they will let you in with your little one even if the Resy says no kids under 8. Just be considerate to other diners is their ask, which is more than fair. Chef Vamshi delivers another excellent menu after Gazab, with small plates packed with flavor and entrees with a decent balance. Small Plates: Jalebi Chaat ($19) is a must have, just like Sharabi Chicken Tikka ($23). Kadak Rumali ($15) is passable, but their chili sour cream was tasty! Andhra Chili Gobi ($17) for one might be too much, as the oil eventually gets to you - but an excellent choice if sharing the small plate. For non-paneer eaters, you cannot go wrong with Himachali Gucchi ($23) - the the classic onion & tomato gravy goes surprisingly well with morel mushrooms! The Poussin Musallam ($31) was on the less flavorful side, but the cornish hen looked really well cooked. Laccha Paratha ($8) is a generous size, and one should be enough to be shared by two people, just like their tasty garlic Naan ($7). Shout out to Sujit our friendly server who ensured a flawless and attentive service. Food arrived within 10-15 mins of ordering. With bollywood hits playing in a background, noise levels on the lower end, and fresh, modern interiors, Ishq was an absolute hit and a place that we'll definitely revisit with friends and family.

Ishq is a true gem in New York for anyone craving authentic Indian flavors. Every dish is layered with depth, warmth, and care — you can taste the quality of the ingredients and the respect for tradition in each bite. The spices are beautifully balanced, not overpowering, and the flavors feel both nostalgic and refined. From the aroma to the presentation, everything feels intentional. If you’re looking for Indian food that feels soulful, comforting, and genuinely authentic, Ishq absolutely delivers.

I got to try this spot for restaurant week and it was an amazing experience and deal. The portion size of the food was great. Everything tasted fresh.

The food was awesome. We ordered Jalebi chaat, Sharabi Murg and ajwaini shrimp. The chicken and Jalebi chaat was heavenly, perfect balance of every taste. In the main course we had naan, lacha paratha and Dum ka ghosht. Everything was mouth- melting. The desert “dum ka meetha” with a blend of apricot, vanilla ice cream and ghee fried jalebi was the perfect item to sum up. The staffs are very courteous. Excellent place to be on your special day.

Ishq is a lovely Indian restaurant with a great vibe and solid food. I tried the jalebi chaat, lamb chops, daal, and bhuna gosht—everything was flavorful and well prepared. The lamb chops were especially impressive, and the daal was comforting and rich. Plus, they serve halal meat, which is a big plus. Overall, a nice place to dine, and I’d definitely go back again. Highly recommended.

I visited ISHQNYC recently and absolutely loved the vibe. The ambience is beautiful, the collection is elegant, and everything feels thoughtfully curated. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend if you’re looking for unique and classy pieces.

Great Indian flavors overall. The jalebi chaat is more like a regular chaat papdi than something unique, but still tasty. We tried the famous Sharabi Chicken Tikka, and it’s absolutely worth the hype - very flavorful and delicious. A solid spot for a satisfying Indian lunch!

Great place to sit at the bar and enjoy punchy food and mellow drinks, or to sit at a table to get lost in conversation while sharing bread and curries. My favorite was the dum ka gosht where the curry was spiced without being spicy and the goat was tender while keeping the goat's lean taste. I also highly recommend the hara paneer mattar kulcha. Kulchas are always good and the peas provide a vegetal depth to the salty fatty cheese kulcha. The gongura shrimp had good shrimp and amazing bajji underneath, I loved eating this separately with bread. The lahsooni oysters had a great sauce where the oysters played a briny complementary role. The Gobi was well-fried and nice. The breads were moist and reasonable. But those two curries, the bajji and the goat, were another level. From the cocktail side the jaan-e-maan had the best balance due to the faba and the extra flavors. I also recommend the kiss me in goa for the sweetness. The hoth rasiley has a cool vibe with a betel leaf taste that is home for some including myself. Overall a great place that I'm adding to my rotation. Prices are reasonable given the portion size: a date should get one main and two appetizers with two breads.

This place is an absolute gem — the kind of place that effortlessly combines romance, elegance, and a touch of modern allure. From the moment you walk in, the ambience feels intimate and sophisticated, with warm lighting, exquisite décor, and a refined energy that sets the tone for an unforgettable evening. The cocktails are artfully crafted, each one as beautiful as it is delicious, and the food is nothing short of exceptional — rich, flavorful, creative and plated with perfection. The service was gracious and attentive without ever being intrusive

From start to finish, my experience at Ishq was nothing short of spectacular. The ambiance was elegant yet inviting, with just the right balance of music and lighting to set the mood. The staff were warm, attentive, and genuinely made the evening feel special. Now, the food — absolutely divine! The Lamb Boti Karahi paired with Saffron Rice was a standout dish — tender, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. Each bite was pure perfection. I also had the Begum Blush, a light and refreshing cocktail that complemented the meal beautifully. The appetizers were equally impressive — the Tiger Prawns and Oysters were fresh, delicious, and bursting with flavor. Every dish was presented beautifully and tasted even better than it looked. Overall, 10/10 experience across the board: ambiance, music, service, and most importantly, the food. I’d recommend Ishq to everyone looking for an elevated dining experience — I’ll definitely be back!

Went to Ishq on a Friday night at 10 PM. We made a reservation and we're running late but they were very welcoming nevertheless. The food was really tasty and we loved the jalebi Chaat, Andhra chilli gobhi and the paneer laung latta. The kala jamun tart was sweet but not too sweet! Overall we loved the placed!

Fantastic Indian food, you don't even need sauce or gravy with it, the rub/masala is that good. Every item on point. Naan great too. Lamb chops are awesome. These are the only ones in the US that come close to Aga's in Houston. Nizami sharabi Tikka is 10/10. Not your basic grilled chicken that you find in Desi buffet. That's how food is supposed to be. Jamun chocolate tart dessert is great presentation and look but muted sweetness. I like my desserts sweet! I would definitely eat here again whenever I am in NYC.

We just celebrated my birthday at Ishq! Had a wonderful experience. Great ambience, good food and service. Our server Nandini and her assistant were great and they answered our questions smilingly regarding their unique menu! Loved the “Hatke” menu and a take on Bollywood and “Ishq” phrases in the menu selection. Would highly recommend their cocktails. I had “Ishq In Mussoorie” which was great! We ordered 3 appetizers between 4 of us. “Andhra Chili Gobhi” and “Sharabi Chicken Tikka” were great. Dudhiya Kabab were little mild for our taste but we compensated the flavor with the chilli Gobhi masala and then it was fine. For main entrees we loved the “Gobhi Ali kofta Curry “ and “Paneer Laung Latta”. Their garlic naans and saffron rice as aside were flavorful as well. Ended the meal by celebrating with the delicious “Kaala Jamun Tart”. Loved the interesting way of presenting the tart by lighting the fire on the cone covering the tart! We would highly recommend this place. Felt good to celebrate and never felt rushed.

It was an amazing dinner with great blend of traditional and fusion dishes. Love their panipuri (beautiful presentation), the lamb chop (good amout of warm spices and chili) and the lobster Malaikari is to die for! The space was beautiful perfect for date and friends gathering! I’d love to come back for a big dinner at the communal table!

The food is absolutely delicious. The best oysters I have had so far and the other dishes were great too. Loved the kebabs. The lamb shank biryani does not live upto the hype but everything else was amazing!! The appetizers stole the show! Sizable quantities as well so great if you are going in a group. Now to talk about the service. I have been to a lot of Michelin star restaurants/ Restaurants on the Michelin guide and this makes it to the top 10 in the genre. The staff was professional and welcoming. Starting from the host to the servers. Special shout out to Sam and Michael. They were awesome!! We were celebrating our anniversary and the team made it so special. Started from surprising us with some napkin roses to ending our night with the sweetest card from the team. They made it perfect and we were so thankful for that. Great food and great service. Totally going back again!!

Ishq means love and there was no better place to go for a valentines brunch than this place! The drive was peaceful and there is enough parking garages nearby with a walking distance to the restaurant. The ambience was a tad let down, we expected the decor and ambiance to be much more evocative than what it really was. No offense, there was an understate elegance and calmness to the place with the dim mood lighting. The food was wonderful and we tried many options from their brunch menu. The kokum flavors cocktail was spice and potent and a perfect pick me up! The jalebi chaat and Raj kachori were earthy and flavorful. The Ishq dal makhani was a signature dish and we kept going back to the bowl for helpings. The unique Himachali gucchi was a perfect umami flavor bomb in a curry gravy. Finished off with a great khubani ka meetha and a perfect sweet ending to a wonderful valentines brunch! Would love to come back for dinner sometime soon!

Came here on a random Wednesday night. Turned out to be restaurant week. I had the bangla kodi, and lamb. The bangla kodi I wish they had used dark meat as the chicken felt a little dry. The flavor, crisp and spice were just right. Sort of a kick in the face actually because most places shy away from spice. I’m glad they don’t. The lamb was flavorful, it had heat but it creeps up on you, first you get to enjoy the aromatics and flavors and the heat builds over time. Which I appreciate. Great potion for dinner for one. I was stuffed by the end. I’m here waiting for desserts now, just I don’t know where to put it. Worry not! Dessert stomach ACTIVATE!!

The food was amazing. We loved the tandoors and and chicken 65 sliders for apps. The Jalebi chaat was unique. Dal makhani and butter chicken were definitely the stars. Try the begums blush , it was unique. The lamb in the lamb biryani was too hard to chew into, but the biryani was tasty. Also try the khubani ka meetha.

Beautiful restaurant and friendly staff. The kabobs and lamb chops were tender and juicy. The sharabi chicken tikka is usually lit with some kind of alcohol, but they excluded the alcohol as requested. The lamb boti karahi was particularly good.

The food was great! Every item we ordered tasted exceptionally well (and very aesthetically pleasing too!) The menu selection was eclectic as well, they offer several dishes that you may not find at your go to Indian restaurant. Great staff! We had three people checking in every few minutes, one to see if we need anything, one to serve/present, and one to clear the table. Loved the attentiveness! Highly recommend! The only improvements I’d like to suggest the hosts are: Lighting: obviously the ambience from the dim light was pretty, but it didn’t do the justice to the colors of the dishes they craft. I was relying on my phone’s ability to brighten the colors of the food. A small lamp on the table would work miracles! Plates: as someone who reuses the same plate at home for multiple courses, I liked how they don’t change your plates and silverware. However, the plates were too small to fit both the entree and the bread. Just a couple inches more to the plate radii would be perfect!

⚠️ Overhyped, Overpriced – Only 2 Dishes Worth Trying ⚠️ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) We visited this place to celebrate a friend’s birthday 🎂, but sadly it didn’t live up to the hype or the prices 💸. 🍹 Drinks: Tried Hoonth Rasiley, Bombay Boy, Gal & Gulab, Begum. Looked fancy but tasted very average. The HUGE ice cubes 🧊 felt like a scam – diluted the drinks + reduced the quantity. For the price, very disappointing. 🍴 Food: Jalebi Chaat → Good presentation 👍 but taste & quantity ❌. Hardly any chickpeas, chutney stingily poured, jalebi was crispy but tasteless (more like fried noodles). Kesar Raj Kachori → Stuffing was fine but overall average. Nizami Lamb Chops → ⭐ STAR DISH ⭐! Perfectly cooked, masaledaar & delicious 🤤. Only issue – dip was spread on the plate for “looks” instead of in a bowl… inconvenient. Sharabi Chicken Tikka → Juicy, spicy 🌶️ & beautifully presented. Definitely worth trying. Paneer Laung Latta → Decent, nothing memorable. Himachali Gucci (Mushrooms) → ❌ HUGE disappointment, esp. at $30. Only the gravy was okay. Breads → Sesame Naan was interesting, but Lamb Keema Kulcha was tiny, dry & underwhelming. Only the spicy raita saved it. 👨‍🍳 Service & Experience: Staff were polite & professional 🙂 but not very informative about the dishes. The BIGGEST disappointment – despite booking for a birthday celebration, NO cake was provided 🎂❌ (even though it was mentioned during reservation). We honestly left in sorrow 😞. 📌 Overall: Apart from the Lamb Chops & Chicken Tikka, most dishes & drinks were overpriced, average, & stingy in portions. With such a limited menu, expectations were HIGH – but reality was LOW. 👉 Management seriously needs to deliver VALUE for the high prices and stop cutting corners.⚠️ Overhyped, Overpriced – Only 2 Dishes Worth Trying ⚠️ Rating: ⭐⭐⭐ (3/5) We visited this place to celebrate a friend’s birthday 🎂, but sadly it didn’t live up to the hype or the prices 💸. 🍹 Drinks: Tried Hoonth Rasiley, Bombay Boy, Gal & Gulab, Begum. Nice interior, attentive staff. Food is not great. It came out within 5 mins, and came out lukewarm. I can excuse it for a place that charges $15-20 a dish but not $35. I also got the goat curry. Basically half the curry was oil. I spooned 5 spoonfuls of oil from the top and there was still a bunch mixed in. The goat was also mostly bone and overcooked. My partner got the lobster coconut curry and it was also pretty overcooked. I love checking out modern Indian places. Indian places are frequently overlooked when it comes to “high cuisine” so I genuinely get excited to try places like this. That’s why I’m especially disappointed. I’d go to Lex and 28th and get something better for a third the price
