Small shop, great food, prompt service. If you're lucky you can dine in. Don't let that turn you away it's a great restaurant. Their sushi is delicious, hand rolls hit the spot, and they're combos will satisfy any craving. My go-to's are the Chicken Katsu, Dragon Roll, and their California Handroll.

A very nice sushi place in Berkeley. The owners are so nice and welcoming. Sushi were really good and tasty, products felt very fresh. The menu is also very clear and simple making it all very simple and fast. 100% recommend.

The owner is maybe one of the nicest I’ve ever met. We walked in and we’re immediately greeted with warmth despite it being very busy. They repeatedly took the time to talk to us and make sure we were okay. My boyfriend had a cut on his hand and the owner immediately started pulling out bandaids and neosporin and taking care of the injury. It was so unexpected and certainly not his job but he took his time to make sure my bfs injury was taken care of. Like how often do you get that kind of service? And he was funnt and sweet too. The food was also absolutely delicious. Don’t get me wrong it’s cheap-ish sushi but it’s amazing for the price and they have super big portions for the entrees. We came here late night thinking we were gunna get subpar food and go home and we ended up spending like an hour in here eating good food with our friends and having a wonderful time and chopping it up with the owner. Massive recommendation! Not like all the other impersonal Berkeley restaurants!

The owner (or worker tonight) was the sweetest, most welcoming human being. He knew customer service, he was beyond friendly. We made it just before closing and he kept the place open for us for 10 more minutes. The food is also phenomenal! 100%

I stopped in when it wasn't very busy, and the service felt like I was welcomed into the cooks' home. They made sure I had everything I needed. Highly recommend. There is a charge for paying with card, but it's clearly posted for each item on their menu.

Katsumi Sushi is an amazing place to get the best quality sushi in Berkeley! The workers are so humble and kind, they really make you feel like family every time you step in :) Highly recommend this to any students looking for good priced and good quality sushi !

This hole in the wall has sushi with fluffy warm rice, thick slices of fresh fatty fish, fresh avocado and lemons, and yummy ginger. I recommend the 49er role. I’ve had way more expensive sushi that was not this good. Classic restaurant sushi can be cold and stiff, this is way better. The couple who runs the store are kind and good cooks.

Walked into this place for lunch. We had the pork chop and chicken katsu over rice. Good size portions w salad and ca rolls. Pork chop was good but a little dry. Chicken was tasty. I’d come back if in the area. Kids loved it.

I've come here a couple times and I must say I really like this restaurant. It is a bit overpriced, but it is worth it! I got the dragon roll and bento box and it was really good. The gyoza in the bento box wasn't to my taste but I understand why other people might like it. I ordered online and waited twelve minutes, then picked up and ate at the patio tables outside. Definitely recommend this spot!

Pork chop bbq was just not a good quality meat, no marinated meat, no spices, just grilled from frozen. Portion of rice and salad it came with.were microscopical and bland, no taste in general. NO RECOMMEND. There are way too many good options right around the corner.

Sadly, the best reviews for this restaurant seem to be from the distant past. If the order we received is any indication you should look elsewhere for sushi and pretty much everything else. Here are true things overheard at dinner from members of my family: “Is that salad dressing with my salad or mayonnaise!” and “I think my chicken katsu went meow.” Jokes aside, the food was expensive, the portions were small, the chicken didn’t seem fresh and the rest of the food was not tasty.
