Troy Greek Cuisine is a popular spot known for its delicious gyros, Greek fries (especially without garlic), and friendly service, particularly from Hassan and Iris. Some find certain dishes overpriced or inconsistent, but overall, it's a reliable choice for Greek food.

Updated: after coming here for a few years now we have only had great food and service. The quality of food for the price point makes this place such great value in our view. An almost weekly place for us for eat in or take home as a family. Original post with 4 stars: Small selection on the menu. But what they do, they do well.
The hummus was de lish is. Very tasty. Their steak wrap was also delectable. I would go again just for the hummus. The pita bread was warm and it was all very fresh. The only issue was my wrap was falling apart so eat fast!
Late arrival for dinner for 4 and the service was simply perfect and for the menu item that we chooses... Wow just unbelievable! Hope to return to this place. Greek restaurant in all the perfect setup with the cooking made on one side of this place. All great flavors coming to us when we're waiting to get served. Give it a try if you are in this area!
Love this Greek spot!! Fries are just the right level of crispy rather than soggy, gyro is always delish, and halloumi is a treat. Gyro wrap or platter is my go to. We love sitting at the bar and watching the magic come together. Always great service and reasonable price for the fresh food.
I lived in countries across the Mediterranean for many years, predominantly Levantine, and this food brings back some of the best food memories. My babe found Troy mid-Pandemic (was that 1 year ago or 10?), and we’ve been ordering delivery at least once a month since. The basics are delicious. The fries - decidedly not Greek- are double fried and arrive hot and crispy even with a 10-minute drive. Everything else tastes like you are on your favorite beach or in a mountain village looking over the Mediterranean Sea. We recently adventured out to the Solana location and were as impressed with the food as ever, but the restaurant design left us both confused. It felt like we were in a poorly decorated Italian restaurant in 2002. So, don’t go for the decor or the ambiance… but go if you like delicious food that can introduce you to a regional cuisine or recall your favorite memories, then go - or order- today.
Great portions, delicious gyros and salad with lamb on top, warm fresh baklava, friendly service. I was taking out but the interior looked pleasant, warm and inviting.
I haven't eaten here yet. But I deliver food and ALWAYS pick up at this location and it is ALWAYS packed. The staff are friendly and are always kind to me. Most places won't give me the time of day or are just straight up rude. No matter how good the food is, if you aren't kind or respectful, you will not find many repeat clients. I'll update this review when I try the food 😅
I had Beef Souvlaki and the Mrs. had Chicken Schwarma, both wraps. We split a small salad. All tasted wonderful. Service was OK. Value reasonable. Would definitely go again!
Small, "locals restaurant" with a young, really likeable staff, very reasonable prices and lots of food on your plate. Every bite was a treat! Parking wasn't convenient but hey, it's the Bay Area. We were able to park one block away, and no meter!
I had a 9" falafel wrap and a draft beer. It was delicious, highly recommended and reasonably priced.
We usually get take out. Great food. What keeps me coming back is the home made hot sauce (red).
Just great food and friendly service!
We both had gyros(lamb and steak) + fries and loved it. Great tasting, fresh food served in a clean environment with an open kitchen. Staff was very friendly and environment was very peaceful. I am hard to please/very picky with who, what, where, when, how of food preperation/environment/staff and have 0 complaints. Loved it!
My favorite restaurant on Solano Ave! The staff is amazing and the food is incredible. The gyros and Chicken Souvlaki plate are both wonderful, as is the Taziki and baklava. Given this place a try and you will not be disappointed. I had my first greek beer here, Mythos, and it was delicious.
I LOVE THIS PLACE. The lamb plate is the best! And the servings are huge. The food also tastes great with a glass of red wine. The service is quick and attentive and usually my party can get a seat quickly.
Always a treat to come here. Food is delicious. The beef souvlaki wrap & entree plate are my favourites. The dolmas are addicting-4 is definitely not enough! The sauces are amazing-the green one esp is packed with much bold flavour & spice. Try them all- white, green, & red. I've brought a couple of friends & they all love it here. Staffing are welcoming & sweet. It is sometimes packed for lunch.
We love this place. The homemade spicy sauce they serve here is out of this world good. We enjoy the group, Big enough to split, but you won't want to. My hubby tried the plate which was good but our favorite is still the house gyro. Slices of deliciously spiced meat wrapped in a soft warm bread & fresh lettuce tomato & onion inside. Prices are great and so is the service. Always friendly and we love coming here
This has needed an update for years and let's begin. 6/10/2025 Recently I've took my sister here as we're both trying to avoid foods cooked with a lot of oil like Chinese food. She's a chef and has been in the business for over 40 years and spent the last 6 years as a chef and was managing food trucks in North Carolina. A long distance from her Napa gourmet restaurant roots. Tonight she ordered the lamb souvlaki. I ordered a small chicken shawarma wrap and lentil soup. The chicken shawarma was perfect. Just be warned, it is with pita bread so it's a bit messy of a handheld eat. But what the heck. It was absolutely delicious. The chicken was perfectly cooked as it was quite tender. Nicely caramelized onions inside. Loved the lentil soup. It had a nice helping of lentils, not just a few little bits floating around as you see in some places. Which now brings me to the lamb souvlaki. Now my doctor insists that I don't eat too much meat and I totally agree. However, I could have eaten this for a week. It was some of the best lamb I have tasted in years, maybe over 20 years. Tasted fresh, it was perfectly tender, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Not over salted, thank God which is something a lot of restaurants do with meat, especially grilled meat or meat. kebobs. My sister was very impressed and pretty much polished off the whole thing. She noted that there were no salt and pepper shakers which she totally appreciated because it meant that the cook knew exactly what he or she was doing. I did take that last bit of her grilled zucchini, which in itself was quite delicious. This was the second time I took her. Last time I had the falafel shawarma wrap and I recommend that as well. I got the large one and it was quite substantial. Sister may have had the chicken souvlaki I don't remember. Just noted down below that I did my first review 6 years ago. I have since returned multiple times quite often bringing family because it's not too crowded, the food is really good and the prices are very reasonable. They do a reasonable amount of takeout which is probably why there aren't as many occupied tables as before. 6 yrs ago Nice greek food, but the french fries. OMG.... sorry short on details as this was a month or two ago. Will return.
Been coming here every year when I visit the area except during the pandemic. Still delicious and great service. I've had a lot of the dishes, all great tasting. Had the Chicken Shawarma and Spanikopita twice. Loved it. As you might see in the pics, I dug into the food and forgot to take the pics first time I went. The second time was takeout. Was so good 👍. If you're looking for some great tasting food and friendly fast service...Troy is your place
Very good! We came for lunch and it was delicious. We got a chicken shawarma and the calamari. Whenever we are back in town we will be back!
Its always a pleasure to order takeout from Troy. I often get served by Hassan who gives the most wonderful service. Even with a mask on, I can see his smiling eyes. The food is amazing. I order this vegan mezze platter. 😋

Best Greek chicken lemon soup. Definitely get the french fries. I get them without garlic and they’re fantastic. I don’t think I need the garlic. And you can watch and you can watch sports on the TV as well. Iris is an amazing manager and we like her so much.
Hands down, Troy Greek Cuisine on Solano Avenue serves the best gyros I've ever had. I'm a total gyro fanatic, and the ones here are absolutely perfect—tender, flavorful meat, fresh veggies, and soft pita bread that holds it all together. But the real star of the show is the tzatziki sauce. It's creamy, garlicky, and has just the right amount of tang. Honestly, I could eat it with a spoon! If you're looking for an authentic and delicious Greek meal, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed.
Troy has the best french fries in town, maybe in the entire East Bay. Get the Greek Fries--crispy on the outside and never greasy. The portion is huge and will disappear minutes after hitting the table. Addictive! Very friendly service. A great spot.

The food ranges from good to really good. I haven't had anything bad. I've been multiple times. For those who want something different than the typical gyro or shawarma, do yourself a favor and try the lamb kapama (it's a MUST). I only wish they had a better meat to rice ratio. The kabob isn't my favorite, but that's because I've been spoiled with Persian kabobs which are on another level. Their green and red hot sauces are tasty. The red one is pretty spicy--you've been warned! Food service is quick, although you'll probably have to flag them down a couple times for more water. I also enjoy their Alameda location.
A nice menu of traditional Med food. I like that it doesn't have have a huge menu, so choosing isn't too much of a task. I really enjoyed the homemade falafel. Not cheap, but its a good value considering the quality of the food. @Frazier_Far_Out
Everything is good at this Greek restaurant (although the owners who named it must not have realized that the Trojans weren't Greeks 😁). I especially like the gyros, and I also appreciate their moussaka, avgolemono (egg-lemon) soup, and choriatiki salad. But you can try anything here with confidence.
If you're just looking for delicious Greek food, in fact better than any I've experienced, this is your place. Prices are very reasonable for this level of quality. Ambience is basic, not a romantic venue for dinner.
Such wonderful food! The service can be a little hit-and-miss, though they're always very friendly and helpful when you can get their attention. Highly recommended, though, for their large portions of very fresh, yummy Greek food.
Mmm, I shared the Troy Greek salad with gyros meat, which was plenty for two people. We also ordered a wrap, but ended up taking it home to enjoy later. Try the Greek tea (black tea with cinnamon and sugar); it comes hot, but we asked for a glass of ice and voila! Greek iced tea which was so refreshing. Iris, the lovely waitress who helped us order our lunch, highly recommends the hummus and the lentil soup. I guess we will be back to try out more of the delicious items on the menu.
Pretty good beef and lamb skewers with rice and their white sauce, on top of the appetizer we ordered with hummus. One comment though on the food (not sure if it’s the beef or the lamb skewer), is that i don’t think the skewer was as fresh as it could have been, hoping that this is just a one off. Overall, the servers were nice and the they have a nice relaxing atmosphere.
The hummus is really good. My salmon was super dry and didn't have much flavor. The spanakopita didn't have that "spanakopita" flavor like most. My husband didn't care for his food at all. The place is cute and the staff is nice.
We only had three items but they were very good. The Gyros Wrap and the Gyros Platter. Both extremely yummy. Great texture in the wrap. Loved it. The harmon fries were spectacular! Really garlicky. And the texture was perfect. Awesome crispness. A little on the pricey side overall but a nice treat.
Troy’s garlic fries were one of the best I’ve ever had and the onion rings were perfectly battered seriously so light and delich! The meza starter with hummus , dolmas, feta , pita - all very nice , for my meal I had the beef souvlaki with rice and vegetables and tzatziki, I always love the yogurt sauce.
Nice place, a cafe more like. I only had an appetizer and it was nice, food is almost delicious. I'm a vegan cook, I'm probably more critical, but I really appreciate nice service.
Is this Mediterranean platter worth $20? it just seems a bit overpriced for what it is, chicken was on the lighter side (not enough chicken) Nonetheless food tasted fresh and good

The food was amazing! Tasty and juicy. I don't think I've ever had better fried zucchini anywhere. Service was quick, friendly and helpful. Definitely go for the food, not the atmosphere.
Really solid Greek food! Excellent falafel. Highly recommend the Greek salad with gyros. Greek beers in bottles, Local on draft. The waitstaff are pleasant and courteous. It's our go to for Greek!

Really good Greek food and a nice place for sit down. But I come here much less than other nearby restaurants for takeout because their online and app ordering experience sucks - like I try to put in an order and it fails often and I get frustrated and go elsewhere.
I would give it 3.5 to almost four stars. It's pretty good I thought the falafels were just a bit dry and overcooked on the outside a bit too dark. The sauces were delicious, but having been to Greece more than two times I did not taste much authenticity
Some vegan options. Had the impossible platter in the past and it was enjoyable. This trip, liked the lentil soup to start. Then Greek salad with no feta and side of 4 falafel. Falafel were decent size and not small pebbles. Crispy on outside and soft inside without being mushy. Added nice hefty to the salad. Usually there because of non vegan companion eater, so limited choices. Friendly service and effective though not very busy at early dinner hour.
Good price for dinner for two on a weekday. The "impossible wrap" was palatable, but the lamb and rice was quite bland. Greek tea is a must try on a cool evening, but other drink options are quite disappointing. I would give kudos to the service at Troy. They are considerate, friendly, and in general very nice people to interact with. The big let-down was the food. I usually love the spanakopita, but this place disappointed me to no end. Maybe I need to choose another day to come visit Troy to see if I have a different experience!

Ordered chicken Souvlaki plate, disappointed to see there are only 6 small chicken cubes in it sitting on half container of rice. It comes a sad 4 pieces of vegetable. It is simply not worth $16, not even close. Look elsewhere. The reason for two starts instead of one is that the flavor is fortunately decent.
Very nice waitress, service very slow, 15 min for a slouvaki I could have ordered it of a food truck. I just don't understand how such a place is rated so high by the locals. Quality food desert most likely...
We've been coming here since they opened. Had noted a slight decline in food last couple of visits, but tonight was simply awful. Where to start? The food was just bad. My kafta, which I requested "cooked through" came out nearly raw. I sent it back, and it came back still red inside. Our table also had a beef souvlaki, which came out rare instead of medium, and a lamb kebab, which was overcooked and gray inside. The rice was overcooked and dry, the vegetables (zucchini) were barely cooked at all. Service was abysmal. The server (just 1) spent most of his time taking and organizing phone orders. Serving tables was just an afterthought. It took ten minutes before we even got water. There was no apology for the incorrectly cooked entrees, nor any acknowledgment that our meals went back to the kitchen mostly uneaten. An all around disappointment, and a real shame, because we used to really enjoy dining at Troy. Will absolutely not return.
This restaurant is going downhill. This used to be my favorite Troy location, but the last couple times it's gotten worse each time. The service was abysmal. The server was apathetic, mumbled, and seemed amateur. When he brought out our soups he was holding the bowls with his thumb essentially in the soup. Drink glasses were empty.

Horrible experience with their food. The lamb was cold and undone. The hummus tested and smelled spoiled as if it was kept outside the fridge overnight. I was with my 2 years old daughter, and I could not serve her that horrible spoiled food. I just paid for the food I couldn’t eat and I left… Never again
Happy hour is posted outside 330pm-530pm. Bartender doesnt have a happy hour menu. There is no Happy hour food but alcohol is a few dollars cheaper than menu. Also your cash is not good here because it is a cashless business
