My favourite bar in Berkeley. Relaxed environment great atmosphere music decoration. Cocktails are really good. Great place to chill and enjoy a drink after a long day.
The staff here excellent, they do a great job holding the atmosphere of the space. Drinks were on point and with solid pricing. I'd definitely return.
The bartenders are super cool, the drinks are tasty and made with care, and the atmosphere is welcoming. We didn't have any food, but we would visit again, 10/10 times!!
We didn't eat but the drink menu felt like a buffet. Many great drink options and the atmoshpere was really awesome.Jeff was an AMAZING mixologist!
I love the cocktails and the ambience here. Been here twice on a Saturday night and was able to get a table without any issues. The cocktails are strong, slightly expensive but taste delicious. The crowd is always moving in and out so this place rarely gets super crowded. Also, you can get food from outside while you're enjoying the drinks. Tip- make a right once you enter the place to find a cozy private table.
Lovely British pub feel. I don't know if they serve food.
This is my favorite bar in Berkeley. I’m a transfer student at UC Berkeley from LA. I’m much older than the average student. I’ve been to many bars around campus and didn’t feel welcome. One day I met a friend at a different cocktail bar around the corner, but the staff asked us to move off the bar so that a group of white folks that walked in after us could sit together. We decided to leave and Google recommended Tupper & Reed. I was preparing for the worst, but I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was incredibly nice. The cocktail program is outstanding. The atmosphere is swanky but not pretentious. You can ask any bartender for most classic cocktails and they’ll deliver excellence. The crowd is always nice; it’s more diverse than most places in Berkeley. I often come here to study. I love this place; I always feel welcome.
Great bar. Definitely worth checking out
My first visit left me with a great first impression. The bartenders were friendly & helpful. The crowd seemed like real folk who could hang with the casual & the classy. Major variety of quality spirits. And the DELICIOUS Cocktails actually seemed worth the price, which, I'm usually pretty critical about. Gorgeous space, and that outdoor seating is always a plus too.
A truly wonderful place to enjoy a good drink. Bartenders are a joy to be around, and Will and Ethan do an amazing job of making sure everyone has a smooth night at this gem
A cool spot for cocktails and to catch up with friends. If you're looking for charming ambiance for a date then you can't go wrong with Tupper & Reed. The place has enough character and romantic dining nooks upstairs to properly align all the stars, no matter how big or small.
Definitely a very cozy and comfortable place to relax and chat with friends. The live band was great, so we're the bartenders! The drinks were very well made and it was aslo very fun watching them make the drinks. Recommended if you want to kick back and chat with friends.
Very nice, classy bar with a cool speakeasy feel to it. Also, there's a pretty nice pool table that's only a dollar per game. The cocktails are on the pricier end for Berkeley (maybe $12ish) but the presentation is nice. They also sometimes light their fireplace which is really nice to sit by and chat.
My go to cocktail bar in Berkeley. There's something for everyone here. Don't be afraid to ask the bartender for recommendations, as they are all knowledgeable and friendly. They make my favorite old fashioned in Berkeley. Upstairs, there's a quieter lounge area with a great jazz vibe. It's no place to go for tequila shots and dancing, but it isn't supposed to be.
This place has a beautiful European architecture style to it. I believe it use to be a church. The drinks are fantastic and the bartenders are super friendly. They treat you well and if you go regularly they take a free shot with you on the house. Highly recommend going here.
Great ambience and skilled bartenders make T&R well worth a visit. As is so often the case, the craft cocktail menu (from my last visit in April 2022) tended toward items with a bit too much complexity, but it was easy to ask for old favorites or even pass along a news recipe. (Just coming off a Berkeley visit and neglected to post a review for April).
One of the best cocktail bars around. I have been to T&R for special events and on regular nights - the experience is always exceptional. The bar tenders are knowledgeable and talented. The selection is great. It's a wonderful place to frequent and to bring out-of-towners to.
One of my favourite bars in the city. If I'm drinking cocktails, or even anything mixed, I'm drinking them here. Sometimes it can get a little packed, but that just means they're doing the lord's work. Most nights it's pleasantly full with tons of quiet nooks for decent conversation. Other times there's live music.
Delicious cocktails with a cool vibe!
I just moved into the area and hit this spot up a few times. Looking beyond the "Hipster chic," its a very cozy little cocktail bar. Lots of dark corners to whisper sweet nothings...or read by phone flashlight...or weep. Quiet with the potential to be lively. Sometimes they have live music. The mixologists/barkeeps are all super chill and seem to have their regulars. The house cocktails are fun to try but I like the simple classics. Anyone can make a Gin&Tonic at home but somehow when they make it, it's just a little bit better.
My friend and I were only in town for a couple days, but we ended up here both nights! What a quirky bar! The clientele was diverse, the music was good (and low so we could talk) and the drinks were phenomenal. They were so creative and well made that we had a terrible time deciding what to have. I wish this was my local, but I guess that means I’ll have to come back for a visit!
There is an upstairs with a bar, an eating area and a bathroom. There is a downstairs with a bar, a eating area and a bathroom. There also is a little area to sit outside. The drinks are not too strong or too watery. The bartender was very knowledgeable and very helpful. I would recommend a girls night out or a boys night out here.
Excellent craft cocktails. Impressive balance in the drinks and the bartender is extremely knowledgeable.
Such a lovely spot with a warm fireplace and cozy dim lighting. We went on a Tuesday night, and since it wasn’t too busy, the staff even let us play pool for free! The cocktail menu is both extensive and creative—we had fun trying different options, and each one was well-balanced with a solid pour, not just sugary flavorings like at many other places. I also loved the complimentary popcorn bar, complete with unique toppings and flavor choices. For anyone who enjoys sweeter drinks, I’d recommend the "Everlasting Light", "Happy Idiot", and "Aztec Death Whistle". "Electric slide" and "Daytona Sand" were the strongest drinks. "How high" was the most sour.
Great ambiance, trendy crowd, amazing drinks! The interior is very vintage and has a speakeasy feel to it. Seating options are cozy booths or tables with bar stools. The bartenders are so professional and really know how to make a drink! Good prices for what you're getting. Can't wait to come back. Haven't tried the food yet, but definitely recommend their drinks.
This is a beautiful bar. There was a year long period when they had TVs and it smelled really weird and I couldn't recommend it. But now it's back (at least on slower days, including my most recent rainy Sunday night) where it's still gorgeous, moody, dim, and magical. BE HERE
WOW! It's rare to find a bar with one bottle of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon. T&R was able to put together a flight of 4 years: 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020! All very tasty, but IMHO 2018 held a slight edge.
Came to see some friends dj. Decent drinks fun crowd. Beautiful venue two floors 2 bars, lots of seating.
This place is lovely! The bartenders, the guy at the door, lovely as well. We went to dinner to Angelina’s and were told our wait was 45 min, we came in to T&R for a drink, I got a classic G&T which was served in a nice tall glass (I get annoyed when they give you short glasses for icy drinks). My friend got a mocktail Manhattan that was a thing of beauty 🌺 They said it was delicious! The only thing that has room for improvement is the lighting, our bartender joked: “Welcome to our cave!” When we had to turn on the phone flashlight to read the menu. Definitely coming back, though! 🦇
This place is nice. The atmosphere is cool, very laid back and classy. Bartenders are friendly & helpful. They have fireplaces, lots of seating/tables, & a pool table. I love all the brick the building has!
The atmosphere is very pleasant since they keep the televisions concealed unless in use, the tables are spaced apart so as not to feel cramped, and the fireplaces feel warm and welcoming. With the focus being on the quality of drinks and service, I always know my drink will be well balanced and enjoyable. I definitely recommend Tupper & Reed to anyone looking for quality cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere.

Beautiful historic building. Good vibes, great drinks.
Solid cocktail bar that has an old school feel. Giving low score in service as I asked the bartender some questions about drinks and he didn't seem very knowledgeable. Other than that a pretty good cocktail bar.
The service is amazing (shoutout sam and jeff) the music amazing, the drinks don’t even get me started and free complimentary popped corn (mind blowing ((put it in perentheses because it goes without saying)). anyways if ur in berkeley u must come to tupper!

Beautiful and warm atmosphere with a gentle soundtrack. Specialty drink menu is small, but features several good picks. The food is overpriced for its quality. While the descriptions sound like finely crafted snacks, they're actually very standard and uninspired fare.
Bartenders are super friendly and can whip up any cocktail you like, even if it’s not on the menu. Great atmosphere, wood burning fire by the entryway and a secret bench upstairs if you need some fresh air. Would recommend!
Ducked in unexpectedly on a rainy night. It was warm and cozy, not too crowded, and there was an excellent live band playing funky jazz in the background. Even with the music going, the back of the bar was quiet enough to carry on a conversation. Drinks were tasty and reasonably priced. Great casual vibe - seems like a good place to meet up with friends.
This place has a good vibe and nice cocktails. It was pretty loud on a Wednesday night when they had a band playing. The upstairs area if often closed, but there is a pool table and some seating around the corner from the bar that allows a bit of escape from the band area (but not much).
Good cocktail bar. Worth a visit if you're in the area waiting on a table (that's why we came). Happy hour is ok, a little pricey but the wines are good. Cool space, very old looking. And they have a pool table.
I love this bar. Most nights there's small jazz and bands 0paying in the front next to a fire, and the bartenders make artistically crafted drinks, and can be a little snappy in their efforts. Hop in here or check the bootha upstairs while you wait for Angeline's for a good night
The Old Fashioned was outstanding, even if the food was very meh. Kimchi and cheesesteak sounds fun, but leaves a lot to be desired. Bar staff is nice and knows what they're about. Don't recommend you eat here.
Self serve from the bar place with an overworked bartender who makes great drinks, but very apologetic when the crowd size goes up. Good single page selection of cocktails. Seems like a good place to get pre or post dinner drinks. Does not serve any food on site.
It's a chill place with good ambiance. This is where you go if you want to drink and talk with a few friends or just with one friend. They definitely set up the mood to be intimate. They also have live music that adds to the feeling of the place in a positive way. They have a good variety of drinks and the bartenders can really put on a show.

Mixed feelings to go with the mixed drinks here. The drinks themselves are pretty good. Other things less so. The atmosphere feels very disjointed. On one hand you have fancy drinks with bartenders with equally "fancy" (read that as mildly rude) attitudes, and on the other you have an out of order pool table and a super loud live jam band belting out rock n roll anthems. Toss in the mandatory 20% tips and it just comes off as HUH¿?¿?
As a Black costumer who brought a Black guest to town, this was humiliating. This “artwork” is severely alienating and only humorous to those of you who aren’t offended by the racial epithet this word invokes. Extremely disappointing for a Berkeley establishment.

Patrons should be aware that Jeff, the general manager, records customer interactions using his Ray-Ban Meta glasses without obtaining consent. When a customer raised the issue of an unapproved recording, he threatened to remove the Hispanic patron. I found his poor manners and rude behavior very upsetting.
Been here twice. In short, I get the impression that this is a "small fish in a tiny pond" kind of situation. Simply too moody bartenders and too average drinks to pay the same price as top cocktail bars in SF, New York, Tokyo, etc. (especially SF; if you're in the mood for cocktails and you're in Berkeley, no reason at all to go to this place when SF is just around the corner).
