Good pizza overall. Best seafood pizza you can buy in Berkeley. Quality (fresh) of ingredients consistent so far. Lots (i mean a lot) of open space if you want to hang out with friends to watch a game.
It was raining, too wet to grill! So I jumped online ordered a “North Beach w/ Fresh Tomatoes”, took a short jaunt and picked it up hot from the oven! After the first two bites, I was in Nirvana!!! I need to see who was in the kitchen making it to thank them! The balance was perfect!
I came with my mom and sister to dine here Memorial Day weekend, the pizza we had was awesome and service was outstanding!
All dishes including the pizzas are delicious. Wait staff is attentive, polite, respectful and responsive Bands and singers on Thursday evenings: wonderfully entertaining
We did take out of a pie - large - and haven’t eaten it yet. Very soon! We took a chance with the online number guess and lost. Our consolation price was a free large salad - Yay. Because the place is so new the manager didn’t know about the salad offer but as soon as he read my offer on my phone he had staff make up a beautiful salad for us to take home. Nice customer service.
We ordered a build your own large pizza online. The quality was excellent. Service was excellent. The pizza was hot. The only change I would make to the online mechanism is notification of when your pizza would be ready for pickup. The have eaten at several of the North Beach Pizza stores and the pizza has always been exceptional and the service always good. We buy extra pizza and then freeze the pizza slices. 30 seconds in the microwave and they are still delicious.
We did a large order for a party and could not be more pleased with the quality as well as their customer service. Super responsive on the phone, pizza arrived early on the day of, and they even came back to deliver utensils after a miscommunication about whether they were needed. Absolutely will be using them again for all future pizza parties.
I have been eating here for many years. The owners and employees are friendly with great service. I enjoy eating in and outside in their new outdoor area. There are Variety of pizzas, sandwiches and many pasta dishes to choose from on their menu. You can also get a slice or two of pizzas. Order to go too.
Great tasting and fresh, large restaurant with TV's and weekly entertainment. Friendly & professional staff
A couple coworkers and I came in for lunch. Great customer service but even better pizza. Being from sf I was excited when North Beach Pizza showed up on my Google search in Berkeley. Flavor brought up some great memories for me. Definitely will recommend pizza. Crust is perfect.
Still the only place that delivers our favorite, the San Francisco (clams and garlic). Fresh and tasty.
Our 2nd time here. What I like about this place is a big nice and free parking and a restroom. The restaurant is nice and clean. We had a great server today. This is the most affordable restaurant in town. Their pizza is only $4-$5 for a very big portion. Cheaper than eating one hotdogs in town. First time when I got here, we had pasta and salad. They were pretty decent and very good price.
I had never visited a North Beach pizzeria before, so I decided to visit the Berkeley location. The restaurant was clean, the service prompt and friendly, and the food was delicious, which contributed to an overall pleasant experience. I would like to make specific mention of outstanding care Isha & Michelle provided. Isha let my husband and I try a special style pizza-desert and Michelle shared with us about her adventures traveling abroad. Both of them were very kind and it really enhanced our dining experience. They are valuable assets to the establishment.
I have always had good customer service. I have been coming to North Beach for over 15 years.
It was a large "to go" order but the staff liked it very much.
Some of the BEST pizza in Berkeley. Especially Chicago style North Beach Pizza. You will love this pizza! I wanted to try this place for a long time but kept skipping for some reason. Got a chance today. Man, what a discovery. Next time I want a pizza in Berkeley, it will be either this place or Cheeseboard/Sliver.
Michelle and Isha are two amazing people. I got an AMAZING STUDENT DEAL!! $15 for a whole pizza and a beer! So great. The service was outstanding, I was comfortable, I enjoyed the ambience. It felt like I was in downtown Manhattan surrounded by some of the finest pizza and Italian you can find. 10/10 experience would 100% recommended to friends!
We did not dine in. Had pizza delivered for a work event.
Stopped in for a quick bite before an airport pick up. We were in a rush and they were very accommodating. Thanks for a great experience, you made our day! Highly recommended.
Such a nice experience, thank you yungblood who served me during Golden State game.
Fantastic pizza, good people, timely service. Atmosphere not as cozy as Giovanni‘s was, but I am pleased to see that they preserved some of the red leather seats in the back!
I live across the street from North Beach Pizza in Berkeley and love coming here. I attached pictures to show i love their thick crust but i am here to talk about their Golden Gate (GG) pizza. It was New Year’s Eve yesterday so i decided to take a day off from my diet 😏 and i ordered the GG pizza for the first time and OMG! 🤪 The GG pizza had succulent pieces of chicken, pesto and red sauce, mushrooms, fresh garlic, and onions. 😋 GG pizza was not greasy at all. Of course i had to order thick crust and a small garden salad for my diet. 😏 Also, they always show you the pizza before you leave to make sure you like what you bought; nice touch. The staff are friendly, kind, and helpful. I always love coming here and Raphael is the thick crust master. I highly recommend this place. 🥳
A Hidden Gem in Berkeley – North Beach Pizza Shines Bright! We had the pleasure of dining at North Beach Pizza recently, and let me just say—it was an experience we won't forget. From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by Isha, our server, who was nothing short of exceptional. Personable, genuinely engaged, and incredibly attentive, Isha went above and beyond to make us feel right at home. He took the time to get to know us, adding a thoughtful and authentic touch that made our meal truly special. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. The North Beach Pizza itself was a masterpiece—the sauce, the meats, the perfectly melted cheese—all harmonized into a slice of heaven. The North Beach Chicken Club Sandwich was equally magical. The sourdough bread had the ideal crunch, the bacon was salty and flavorful, and the aioli tied everything together beautifully. We started with the roasted broccoli appetizer, which was good but felt like it needed a little something to balance out the strong lemon flavor. Still, it was a solid start to an otherwise outstanding meal. While the food was delicious and the prices fair, it was Isha’s service that elevated the entire experience. In a time when North Beach Pizza is working hard to rebuild after being forced to relocate, places like this need our support more than ever. Do yourself (and them) a favor—check this place out, and tell a friend. If you're in Berkeley and craving pizza or pasta with heart, flavor, and a side of stellar hospitality, North Beach Pizza is your spot.
We had an amazing time hosting our son’s graduation party at North Beach Pizza in Berkeley. The GM (Isha) and his team (Maria and others) were friendly, accommodative, and caring. Isha worked with me several weeks in advance to ensure all the space and table arrangements were the way I wanted them to be, guided me on ordering to maximize value and not overspend, and tended to our party of 100+ like we were the only guests there despite the place being busy. The evening was wonderful as there was also a great band playing that night. We had then back rooms reserved just for us which ended up being perfect in terms of space. The food was terrific as well - sometimes in larger orders the quality is compromised - that was not the case at all for us - the pizzas, pastas, and apps were all awesome - they were even able to scramble and get more pizzas arranged for us quickly when we realized we were going to have more guests than anticipated. I called around to several places across Berkeley - Isha and team were the most engaged and made me feel like they were hosting something for one their own family members. Thank you for an incredible evening - my son will never forget it!!!
Good food. And good prices as well. Natalia and Michelle are two great people. Them let us so comfortable. And provided a really good service. Keep those good people working for you, and you will succeed.

Me and my girl went to a random pizza joint in Bezerkeley called North Beach Pizza. We ordered a combination pizza along with a beer-flight... all I will say is it was the bomb!!!
Excellent pizza and vibes! Jasper and Lane treated us really well. Will definitely be coming back!
Old Giovanni's location with North Beach Pizza style but now downtown, grew up with both and super happy to have good pizza in downtown Berkeley again!
Have been eating this pizza since I was a kid in San Francisco. The Berkeley location is just as amazing! Even helped with an issue with their newly launched app.
Large area space with great music selection, artwork, free wifi, and wonderful vibes 5/5 definitely recommend 👍🏽🫡
Really delicious pizza! The crust is the freshest, warmest, chewiest sourdough bread you've ever tasted. I picked up at the restaurant, and the pie was ready when I got there. The atmosphere is nothing special, but props because they apparently feature live music on Thursday evenings.
I had a wonderful experience working with North Beach Pizza on several large catering orders! I would highly suggest them to anyone looking for large deliveries.
This is absolutely my favorite pizza. Fresh ingredients, real cheese and great toppings. I hear they have live music on Thursday nights. I’ll definitely be going back for good music and great food.
Ordered two pies that were ready promptly at pickup and they were spot on. Crisp and fluffy dough with excellent quality toppings. Bravo!
We went in to this restaurant for the advertised Thursday night live music expecting jazz standards and we were righteously surprised by the amazing 10 piece blues/soul band just tearing it up! It was impossible not to dance when they hit their stride. The pizza and appetizers were all very good as was service. If you want a great time on a Thursday night find out when the 10 piece blues/soul band will be there and have a blast
Had pizza delivered. The pizza was very good. The driver found us even though I accidentally input the wrong address.
I have been here a few times, found it by mistake but wow their pizza is Delicious!!! Every time me and my kids come we are satisfied. Definitely one of my favorite pizza spots no complaints. The root beer soda is the best and always great customer service from our waiter not sure of his name. 10 out of 10 I definitely recommend.

This place looks nothing like the pictures. They’ve done a major renovation. The pizza is tasty. They have a nice game area for Bocce ball. Nice ambience. I had the tasting beer menu which was very generous for the price.
I liked the way they top their pizza. We were wondering where the rest of our toppings went? Well some were hiding under a thick layer of cheese 👍 yup. We ordered the Roma with pepperoni, if I remember correctly. The decor was nice to look at and the service was very good. Next time we are gonna try the chicken wings Napoleon??

A 2 topping cheese Pizza was pretty good and came out fairly fast. Very cheesy, good crust texture, and well prepared ingredients. However, with no one in the restaurant, it still took several minutes to get the glass of water I ordered. My table was then abandoned and the water was never refilled. I also decided to order the authentic Rugelach, and although it came to my table with chocolate to dip into on the plate, the inside of the rugelach was frozen. Just to clarify, I don't have an issue with the rugelach being reheated - I have an issue with it coming half frozen to my table.
It's a classic old pizza and bar place in Berkeley. Large screens for sports and events. Good variety of draft beers. Good selection of pizza with vegetarian section. Pizza was OK though lots of cheese. Great atmosphere for groups and sport watching. Large area in the back for private party. Flat and wide entry for accessibility. Parking could be difficult in Shattuck, paid street parking and public parking available.

This average pizza restaurant is just you ordinary pizza parlor. I got the pizza which was soggy from the wet cheese they put on it. And the spring salad and Caesar salad that I got were to plain. The restaurant setting is not the best either. The restaurant played loud pop music and the tone was not the best. This restaurant is not worth the food and setting for a person coming from out of town. The picture I included is a picture of the front of the restaurant.
The pizza is fine but honestly. Nothing too crazy good or bad. My main complaint is that the wait time is frustrating. I’ll order online at non-peak times and it’ll tell me to arrive by a certain time. I’ll get there a couple minutes after they tell me too and there will be no one else there and maybe one or two other orders being prepped and I’ll still be waiting 10 minutes later. So instead of a 20 minutes wait time suddenly I’m waiting 30-40. I thought this was a fluke thing but it’s happened now several times. It would make sense if it was happening during peak times where they’ve got a ton of orders coming in, but when they’ve got no one else there…. Why is it they can’t stay on schedule? And if they know the one pizza order won’t be ready for 40 minutes, why not tell the customer “hey, your order will be ready in 40 minutes” not “come in in 20 minutes to get it… actually now you have to wait 20 more minutes”. They even told me when I walked in “oh only three more minutes” and it ended up being like 10. Plus. Customer service is kinda weird. Main guy just has massive headphones on the whole time even while talking to you. Not very professional.
They have move from university Ave to Shattuck ave. Nice new space, nobody there, very cold, no heat! worst deep dish I have ever had. I won’t be back. Very disappointed. North Beach is always served a good pie.
Horrible customer service. The person who takes orders is very rude.
We ordered the Alfredo and Ravioli and this was by far the worst pasta we have ever eaten. The Alfredo sauce was liquid, the fettuccini was not fully cooked, the cream sauce had no taste but butter, the bread was stale and crumbly and the ravioli had more sauce than ravioli. We will not be ordering ever again
Update 9/7/25: Nothing changes. Picked up what was already a done barely warm pizza 5 minutes early. The cheese had solidified. Update 7/30/24: From charging full price for half pie add ons; to giving red pepper and Parmesan cheese with your pizza pickup or delivery order, then skimping on them, then eliminating them; to giving a full thick crust, bottom and around to now only the exterior crust, yet still charging extra; to keeping the delivery fee and Slice fee when the driver doesn't follow instructions (ringing the doorbell and handing it to the customer is too much to do for a tip), NORTH Beach Pizza plays way too many games. I don't want to have to call customer service every time North Beach and the driver mess up. But shorting the dough? That's ridiculous!! Previous: Ok, look, if I'm ordering your largest 18" pizza, I don't want one tiny tiny container of parmesan cheese (see photos... that's a quarter next to it sitting on the box) and 1 tiny packet of crushed red peppers. There's just no excuse for it, especially with rising pizza and delivery costs. Also, IF YOUR GOING TO CHARGE THE FULL PIZZA PRICE FOR A HALF PIZZA INGREDIENT, THAN PUT A WHOLE PIZZA'S AMOUNT OF THAT INGREDIENT ON HALF OF THE PIZZA. This is a longstanding cheat I have hated since you began it. Let's not be so cheap, North Beach Pizza!!

The pizza was so salty and had a really weird flavor. I have never tried a saltier pizza. The cheese tasted like it had gone bad. We regret spending over 45 dollars for too small pizzas. Too pricey and not good quality. The cooks in the back looked suspicious and gave you weird faces when you looked at them. They took for ever! Don’t trust people who are not cooking in front of you! Don’t waste your money here.
