Our grandaughter wanted to take us here during our visit to CA. Friendly service, food was good. The milkshakes are handmade and full of memories of a time when chocolate shakes were real milk, ice cream and chocolate syrup.

I made one complaint about my burger, and every since then they always get my order right. The service and food improved and for that I can say BLUE JAY IS THE SPOT! BOMB Burger!! BEST price! BETTER buns! BIGGEST BACON!

I don’t understand how this spot can get bad reviews. Their food is DELICIOUS and I’ve always had wonderful and attentive service. Definitely my favorite burger spot up here and that’s saying a lot because half the restaurants up here are burger joints lol

Top notch service. Was running around after placing a Togo order over the phone and arrived 45 mins late. Without question or hesitation they offered to remake me my entire meal fresh. Three double cheeseburgers and a veggie burger fries included. Great job gentlemen!

If you haven't tried these burgers, you are missing out. The cowboy was great, way better than the malt shop by far! Man, the fries don't even get me stared... nacho chesse on seasoned fires, where you been all my life.

The food here is good, average options you expect from most burger joints. Chicken sandwiches, burgers, fries etc. The seem to make all the items fresh which is a plus. The wait is expectedly slightly longer than McDonalds but the food is also better. The prices are average to a little high. The only thing that I can criticize is that nothing particularly stood out to me as being much different from other burger places.

In my experience it was pretty good, does seem a little more on the pricey side, but coming from southern cali it seems about on par price wise. What really through me off was that it was a bigger burger than I expected and with great taste. In addition the size of fries you get with the combo is pretty good and they even have Jamaica as a drink option at no extra price which I love, so came out to be pretty worth it, would go back again.

We picked up lunch and sat outside on the patio. I got beef taquitos and my husband and bacon burger meal. Food was great! Customer service was great too! We popped up here for a short day trip and this was just what we needed.

Stumbled upon this place when I was desperately looking for drinks since the weather was so hot. Their burgers & fries are definitely way better than other fast food. They also serve juices. Services are friendly & fast. Definitely on point!!! Their Aloha chicken is big piece of chicken and tasty. So, I definitely will visit again.

Hadn't been to downtown blue jay in a long time, so when I saw they had replaced the McD, I was intrigued, And boy did they give me a top tier meal. The bun, beautiful and soft. The meat was perfectly cooked and tender, and they didn't skimp on toppings. I also upgraded to Onion rings and boy was it worth it. High class product that deserves more then just a drive through. Definitely stopping by next time I pass through.

Worth the long line! Burgers, fries and shakes are amazing! Have not been disappointed yet! I have recently tried the breakfast burritos, and they are fully loaded and so yummy! Usually not a line in the morning, yet. So can quickly get breakfast and make it to work on time!

They also make made to order handmade shakes with real ingredients. Vanilla, Chocolate, Strawberry and Cookies n Cream! They're awesomely priced at $2.50 per shake and you can swap your drink for one with a combo meal for just a little extra. My favorite is the Jalapeño burger, it comes with Sriracha and if you love spicy this is the one for you but they're all good in my opinion.

We have been here three times now after we finish shopping across the street. Don't let older reviews deter you. Every single time food has been great and not greasy, which is a huge selling point. It does take a few minutes longer, but food is made to order and hot when they hand it. Overall fantastic cheese burgers every time we've been.

Their Cowboy Burger 🍔 is absolutely off the charts! Love their French Fries 🍟! However, their prices have gone up & charging you “extra” for more packets of ketchup or barbecue sauce is ludicrous when you are already are paying higher prices! Drinks are too much too! Guess I am spoiled with $1.00 drinks at McDonalds & Del Taco.

The place kind of looks like it's closed but it's not it makes fresh food to order so your order is always hot and they honestly had some of the best french fries I've had the burger and the bun were top notch I will be back the only thing is that it does look closed they might need a flashing sign or something because this is a Hidden Gem and if you order here and we'll take a while but it's worth it

I think they're good but I like how they overcook the fries and onion rings. Just be patient going through the drive through likely will be a line of cars. Prices are reasonable and similar to what you would pay at a mass produced retail restaurant. It's burgers and they do a good job making them lol

The food isn't that far off from homemade. Most people could probably still make something better. The food is at least competitive with most fast food chains. Wendy's and Jack in the box are probably still at a similar level. Don't have your expectations too high, and you won't be that disappointed.

Good drive thru burger spot in the mountains if you don't want to drive down the mountain. We get their burgers and fry combos. Their fries are awesome and super crispy. I also like that they have strong good ice tea. This is a definitely a spot we will continue to come back too in the future.

Cheeseburger was great. My sister got the nuggets and ate them all and said she loved them. We sat down inside and waited for our food but ended up leaving because the kitchen was making a lot of loud, bothersome noises (sounded like someone was repeatedly slamming a door). I ordered a beyond burger and fries. The beyond burger was kinda crispy. A regular burger would have probably done better being cooked that way, so my review is only of the beyond burger. It probably needed done dressing or ketchup and mustard. I added ketchup to mine. The fries were tasty. Kinda like a seasoned french fry. Crispy, yet soft on the inside. I liked the fries. There are tables outside to sit and eat at. There's also a drive thru which makes it easier to get in and out. It's 2 dollars extra to replace a regular burger with a beyond burger too. I would get the fries again, but not the beyond burger.

As the old McDonalds place closed down in Sept 2019, a new owner opened Blue Jay Burgers in its place. Always enjoyed the location with the cool air and forest area around the place. Recently opened up and they are still trying to get their groove going and organized while cooking up what’s on the menu. The drive thru line is usually long so I’m guessing many think it’s good. I decided to wake up and order and eat outside on the many tables out front of the building. Little long waiting, needed to ask for napkins, and you will need them as the burgers are juicy good! While waiting I watched the young employees trip over each other as it didn’t look like the owner had a flow pattern going yet inside. It’s price for a good homemade type of burger and the fries were rather good. I didn’t get ice in my ice tea but it was cold enough. Give this place some time to get things together, decorate and make it have the BlueJay town feeling and they will have something good. Meanwhile if you are in the area and have some time to wait for your meal I suggest giving it a try. I will be going back soon! Enjoy.🍔🤙🏼

This is my second Review for Blue Jay Burgs...they absolutely ROCK. New management took over awhile ago and changed it up. Order a burger, its fresh ground beef handmade patty. No disappointment. Normally everyone puts the tomato and lettuce on the bottom...this is wrong. The heat wilts the lettuce. Lettuce and tomato go ON TOP the meat. These guys do it right. The fries today were so hot and fresh and crispy, i have blisters on my fingertips! 😝 Splendid. Everytime we visit, its a great burger!!!

The food is still delicious, but it was served with a side of attitude today. Plus not serving breakfast anymore, this place is definitely starting to go downhill.

Food is good. But it's still a fast food joint. Burger and fries was good. I'll go here again, but won't go out of my way to drive there for a meal.

The location used to be a McDonald's. I have purchased food here 3-4 times (buying different things) and my personal opinion is that it is expensive and not very good.

Unfortunately, the food quality is very inconsistent. In this visit, I ordered only a strawberry shake. It was not thoroughly mixed and I could hardly taste any strawberry flavor or berries or whatever they put in it. I'd love to see this location succeed with consistent, decent food, but that has not been its history.

Hit or miss. First visit was perfect. Ordered a burger and fries, both were great. Second visit, it took 35 minutes with just 9 cars in front of me. I got the same meal but with a drink this time. The fries were completely different from the first time and had a strange flavor. They also gave me the wrong drink. If that had been my first experience I would absolutely not return. Very disappointing.

The food was decent tasting at best, the portions were tiny, and I would not consider this fast food. Drive thru took about 15 mins after placing our order. The cell phone reception is so bad in the Lake Arrowhead area that we ate here out of desperation. Pretty expensive for what it was as well. We couldn’t use any maps, navigation, or reviews and we were all starving. This place’s corner location made it stand out so we took a shot. Wouldn’t return if we had any other options.

We ordered a hamburger with french fries, it tasted fine. We ordered taquitos they were really good. We did not order chicken strips, we ordered a cheese burger, but we got chicken strips they were, well. . . chicken strips. It's overpriced, but if you're in the mood for a burger or chicken strips or taquitos and you don't mind paying a little more, it's an ok place.

Horrible watered down Horchata in a small cup thats supposedly "large".. Philly sandwich was decent but the prices are ridiculous- one sandwich and a small drink (labeled as large) $17!!

Be sure and check your 2go order! After spending 32dollars on 2 meals and a drink when we got home we found out they forgot the fries and hash browns. We got ripped off!

Food was okay tasting burgers were cheap tasting "angus" french fries were very plain tasting but had a nice crisp. Service wasn't that great but I understand its fast food service. And last but not least the consistency was HORRIBLE I ordered 2 bbq burgers, one had 2 small onion rings and 2 pieces of bacon the other had 4 small onion rings and about 6 pieces of bacon. Man, so disappointing another mountain restaurant that falls short. Cold burger, milkshake was just cold milk, no thickness whatsoever. Only positive thing was fries tasted good but didn’t come hot tho. How do you have 20 cars in line take 30 mins and then straight mess up a basic cheeseburger, fries, and milkshake.

I guess this place is a step up from the McDonalds that used to be there. Moderately expensive and inconsistent. The first time I went through I tried the cowboy bacon barbecue burger…surprisingly bland and tasteless. Gave their double cheeseburger a try and it was pretty good. It’s about 50/50 whether your fries, onion rings or breakfast hash browns will be even lukewarm. Fish and chips were mostly ok…I’m not sure where they found dried out lemons the size of grapes, though, and the single pre-packaged tartar sauce pods are only half-filled. Breakfast is supposedly served until 10:am, if they’re not arbitrarily closed for “maintenance”, or if you get there before 8:30am, you might get to choose what to order (instead of “we’re out of this, and this and this”). And the hash browns will probably be cold. Most FF joints have caught on to the fact that customers often like breakfast later in the day. Not Bluejay Burger. So…not the worst, but definitely not great. McDonalds might be a giant corporate fast food factory, but at least they’re consistent.

Food is not good, tasteless and luke warm. Went the day they opened and multiple times since then, no change. Many friends have also given this place multiple chances with the same results. Sad, as full-time residents like us like to support our local, Mountain businesses. I go for their shakes only via the Drive-Thru.

Had not gone for quite a while. Did the drive through about a month ago. Ordered the cowboy burger and fries. When I got home and unwrapped the burger, it was dry and the bun was burnt. The fries were average. When it was still owned by Hortencias, the food was great....and their fries were amazing. I don't think I will go again.

This is our second time there. We decided to give them another try. Our first experience was ok but not terrible, we thought it could only get better and were excited to give it another go. This time I got the Hawaiian chicken sandwich with breaded chicken. The patties they use are not good. They are frozen patties that reminded me of cheap nugget patties you would buy from Costco. The pineapple was from a can and the whole sandwich, including outside the bun was covered in teriyaki. I couldn't finish it. Their fries were better this time though, not nearly as salty as the first time we went. Unless they change where they get their meats from and go with actual quality products I won't be back and I won't be recommending them. I added a picture of the leftover patty that I couldn't finish so you'll see what I mean. If you're expecting a good slice of chicken breast, this isnt it and you'll be disappointed.

For the prices they charge, this was honestly embarrassing. The food was bland and completely under-seasoned. I paid for extra meat in my Cali burrito and got mostly fries instead. The taquitos were thin, small, mushy, and definitely didn’t taste fresh. Also some liquid spooling in the corner of container. They honestly tasted like something straight out of a frozen box. On top of that, the young girl at the counter seemed uninterested and gave zero welcoming energy, like customer service was the last thing on her mind. Overall, overpriced, underwhelming, and not worth it.

Local here. I have tried it twice. First time fries were cold. Second time, 2 years later, onion rings were old and cold. Really wanted to give this place a chance. Bummer.

First time I asked for extra tomatoes on my burger. Two little slices so thin I could see through them. Fries were COLD. Second time the cheeseburger had COLD unmelted slab of cheese on it and patty was barely warm. Onion rings were STONE COLD like they had been sitting out for 30 minutes. UNACCEPTABLE when In N Out is HALF as much! I won't be back.

Worst place ever didn't get the fries then the rude little teenager at the window demanded to see my receipt and bag(not a problem) then gave us an order of old soggy cold fries and just stared at me like I did something wrong and gave me the wrong salad dressing. Place sux never again

There was one person in the building seemingly doing everything and they were very confused. I just asked for a drink at the drive thru and they said ok, I waited 15 minutes in the drive thru and then I just left because it’s like they forgot I was even there.

I love their breakfast burritos but I've come here twice on the way to fishing in the last week after their opening time of 7:00 a.m. and no one's been there. Today it is now 8:30 and still no one's there and there were two other cars there as well. Pretty poor customer service. Either be there on time or update your hours.

The drive thru intercom needs updating. It is frustrating and annoying to just place an order when they can't hear or understand you and vice versa. Last time we went there, the person taking the order was impatient, interrupting and sounded like he was playing around back there. Of course our order wasn't right. The fish and chips was disgusting, just yuck. The lettuce on the burger was wilted and the burger looked like it had been sitting around for a while. We've been to this place many times and both the experience and food quality are getting worse. We're not going back.

I’m not joking, this was the worst burger I’ve ever had. I’m not one to leave a poor review if food is simply subpar, but I wouldn’t even eat here in a pinch. It was dry and disgusting and flavorless like cardboard, you’d be better off at McDonald’s.

I wanted Bluejay burger for my birthday because the last time I got it a few months back it was really good. I don't know if they're under new management or what's going on, but I got a California burrito for myself a double cheeseburger for my wife and a regular cheeseburger for my son. The burrito was extremely greasy the cheese inside of it when I took a bite was hard like as if it had been sitting overnight and then my wife and son's burgers were undercooked and raw. So, I drove all the way back to return it and get my money back and the guys there questioned me and made me sit through them, opening it and questioning me and acting like there was nothing wrong with the food and I eventually got to the point where I told them that I don't know how long you guys have been in customer service industry, but it's extremely unprofessional to sit here and make me go through all this after I already am upset and had to drive back for the food. I'll never be eating there again.

Have been here several times, I can say it was good. Took my kids today after school ordered a double bacon cheeseburger and a cowboy burger we literally paid sat down and our food was ready? Bit into our burgers and meat was cold like they have been sitting all day, they pre make the paddy’s for the day and just let them sit . Not a true burger place in my eyes you are not McDonalds , people want a freshly cooked paddy when ordered!! We are locals and will not be returning!!!

Final update: Tried this place one more time and drove right through the drive through like the car in front of us once we saw their prices. The menu is covered with taped up price adjustments and pieces of printer paper advertising new menu options. There’s zero chance I even consider stopping here again with how their prices are rising. Update: Their prices just keep rising and the quality of their food is getting worse. Unappetizing burgers and unseasoned fries shouldn't run you over $15. Original: Unfortunately the prices of Blue Jay Burgers has recently skyrocketed. The quality of the food was decent, however not even close to worth what they’re charging.

We’ve eaten at Blue Jay Burgers 3 times in the past and we’ve always been disappointed…but we decided to give it one more chance. What a huge mistake. In a word the food is…horrible. This is definitely the home of the tasteless burger. They apparently use the lowest quality of meat available, consisting primarily of some sort of gelatinous filler. The burger patty appears to be boiled or steamed with barely a grill mark around the edge. The bun was hard and the veggies lackluster, the whole thing being totally devoid of flavor. The french fries are just ok, and the ice tea tastes packaged, definitely not fresh brewed. The only thing good was the diet coke…kinda hard to mess that up. Bye bye Blue Jay Burger…never again.

I guess they don't want any business. Closed on a Friday night at 6:45pm. Ridiculous.

The worse place ever!! Carne asada fries had no cheese old pico de gallo the meat had a bad smell was old and hard some parts were burnt and another side was raw!! Nasty taste. Paid 17.99 for the worse food ever 🤮🤮🤮 never again!!!

Good luck trying to get me come here again. Super over-priced, and I had previously thought that at least the fries and burgers were decently tasty. It's a rare stop for us, though, since it's so expensive. But today, unfortunately, once we got home, my daughter realized there were ants (ALIVE!) all inside her drink cup!! Are you kidding me?!?! 😳 Hard pass from now on! You can go to Lake Arrowhead Sports Bar & Grille (if you're not in a hurry but they have good food), or even Belgian Waffle Works has a surprisingly good lunch.

This WAS a great place to grab a burger and fries. The new company/ management has no love for thier food or care for the business. We just picked up dinner that had two flat, no syrup diet cokes with re heated burger combos. Cheese was hard on the outside and burger buns very hard as if they were re heated. Onion ring had been in the burger so long it created a ring in the top bun. My wife’s lettuce was so old we just took it off the sandwich. This is worth 27.00 dollars!! I almost want to call for a full refund. 🤔 so sad to see this burger joint fall to pieces. I do hope the management wake up and take action with strict guidelines and awareness. They took over and have had no presence on our mountains social media. Sad to see no one In line any more. Attached are my images of the newly picked up REHEATED dinner. You can do much better than this.

Burger was undercooked. The order put the entirety of the drive through in a stand still and left me waiting over 20 mins for an item that was expedited without quality control. That was missing the avocado to add to the mistakes made. The fries were okay, under seasoned. The wait game me ample opportunity to look inside, past the drive through window where there was piled up filth on the floor, unorganized inventory and unsafe food handling / cleaning etiquette. Update: Upon eating the burger, which was not to temperature and bland, the pickle, the one pickle on the burger was a stem piece, hard and mostly inedible. See the picture below.

Cute place but, over priced, with school lunch type burger patties, (bland, frozen patties) $27 for two burgers and a small fry. Our dog ate most of the burger.
