First off the food and atmosphere was amazing. Best authentic food I’ve ever experienced. Igor seen I was struggling with the iPad and quickly came over and helped me navigate it and suggest some of his favorites on the menu and made the most amazing drinks. He ended up serving us the entire time because no one else approached us free. We had such a great time. Made the lunar parade day the best time. Worth the wait on the busiest day of the year
Truly worthy of it's Michelin recognition. Their food is bursting with flavor, and I got to try quite a lot of it. Everything taste vastly different but delicious in their own right. I recommend their beef dishes the most! The atmosphere was beautiful and stylish. The service was great, pretty attentive, and patient. My only slight concern is the size of the menu, it's huge, and a little confusing to navigate on their tablets; it took my friends and around 10 minutes to decide what we wanted. So that was a little overwhelming, but I can't complain too much about having a large selection :) Also, I'm not fully sure they allow you to split the check so just keep that in mind. Overall I highly recommend, this is really a gem of a restaurant!
My boyfriend and I came here for dinner. We’ve been wanting to come here for a while, and it was definitely worth the wait. Everything we ordered was so delicious. We got the half duck, crab and pork soup dumplings, and green beans. We also got the passion fruit cocktail and lychee mangosteen martini. Both drinks were also amazing The menu here is very extensive and everything looked really good. We’re definitely coming back in the future to try more things.
I dropped in to Jiang Nan after searching for restaurants near me in Chinatown. Since it was just me, I was able to sit at the bar. All of the staff was very friendly, especially Igor! He walked me through the menu and made several suggestions about dishes I might like. I ended up getting the pork dumplings with a side of green beans, and they were both delicious. Throughout my meal, Igor checked on me to make sure I was enjoying everything. The atmosphere is also nice...dimly lit with R&B music playing in the background. Would definitely come again!
I went with my bf to this restaurant and had an amazing experience! We ordered Mapo Tofu with black fish which was one of the best Mapo tofu dishes we’ve had. The pork soup dumplings and chicken shumai were delicious. Would definitely come again!!!❤️🥰
We found this lovely restaurant on a rainy Saturday in China town, on Bowery street, to be one of the top notch Chinese food in the city. The food was simply delicious. Probably the best pecking duck! We tasted dumplings, eggplant, and other small appetizers and each dish was done to perfection. The service was great as well!
Where to begin. Order the Peking duck...just order it. Now. What are you waiting for? Drive here, fly here. Now. Chop chop! By far the best experience in NYC in Chinatown area. Authentic and perfectly cooked dishes. The Peking duck is the standout. Phenomenal. I will have dreams about it when I go home. Service and atmosphere is worth the stop alone, but damn...that Peking duck 🦆 😘🤌🤯
One of my fave spots in the city, the duck is a non negotiable. Perfect spot to bring family and friends! I also enjoyed their cumin beef and braised pork ribs. 10/10!!
Delicious traditional Chinese food with elevated ingredients. You order from a tablet with photos of all the dishes. The pickled mustard fish was savory and delicious with a kick. The bean sprouts were cooked to garlicky perfection. The crab soup dumplings were just what we needed on a cold winter’s day.
really great service! we arrived 45 minutes late to our reservation and they still were able to seat us within 10 minutes. food was great all around, with the duck and beef brisket w potatoes as highlights. the string beans were also very solid. complimentary cabbage was quite tasty. clean, fast, and delicious!
Fun atmosphere but very packed on a Monday afternoon, which speaks to its popularity. Lucky we had what looked to be the last table available. Had the best soup dumplings here. Very fresh with thin wrappers. Broth was tasty too. The spicy black fish was bold and flavorful, super delicious. The sizzling cumin lamb was crazy good. Highly recommend if you like that flavor profile -- cumin, cilantro, hot peppers. Don't miss out on the free cabbage dish. Looks deceptively simple, but like everything else, packed with wonderful flavors. It's spicy with a nice hint of sesame oil, and all the ingredients were super fresh and crunchy. I added that into my to-go bag so i didn't let it go to waste! Cocktail drinks were alright. Definitely very strong and gorgeous to look at, but what I got didn't have much flavor besides straight up baijiu. I liked how the menu was all on an iPad with pictures of each dish. And when you're ready, a wait staff comes to your table immediately to confirm your order and asks for any allergies. Quite efficient. Would come back again!
We visited on New Year’s Eve, and even though the restaurant was crowded and clearly very popular, there was surprisingly no waiting time at all. We ordered the full-sized Peking duck, which was absolutely fantastic. It came with scallions, cucumber, pineapple, white sugar, and their special house sauce, along with 20 pancakes for wrapping the duck—more than enough to enjoy every bite. We also tried several vegetarian dishes, including shredded cabbage (手撕包菜), fried pumpkin, and baby bok choy (娃娃菜). Every dish was incredibly flavorful and well-prepared. A special shout-out to the complimentary pickled cabbage—it was delicious and such a thoughtful touch. Overall, everything was excellent, from the food to the efficiency of the service. We loved every dish and would definitely come back again.
Hands down, this was the best meal we had in NYC, and we just happened to stumble across it. I’m so glad we did—especially after eating at several “recommended” places that were honestly disappointing. This spot completely blew us away. The bartender was incredible, and you could tell he took real pride in his craft cocktails—he even came over to our table to make sure everything was perfect. The entire staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely focused on making sure we had an amazing experience. Choosing from the menu was tough because everything looked so good. We ended up ordering the soup dumplings, bacon claypot rice, sweet and sour pork (perfectly breaded), green beans (my personal favorite—and my husband even ate them, which is rare!), and the kung pao chicken, which was absolutely to die for. The lychee martini was fantastic, and the old fashioned was one of the best we had during our entire trip. I would fly back to NYC just to eat here again. Absolutely phenomenal.
Absolutely amazing experience at Jiangnan! 🔥 The grilled fish was the highlight — super flavorful, perfectly spicy, and full of aroma. The broth was rich without being overwhelming, and the fish was tender and soaked up all the seasoning. Every bite was delicious. The stir-fried cabbage was surprisingly good too. fresh, crunchy, and full of wok aroma. The spring rolls were crispy on the outside and packed with juicy, savory filling. Great atmosphere, fast service, and consistently great dishes. I’ll definitely be coming back! Highly recommended. 👍
Some of the best crispy beef slices I have ever had! All of the items we had were delicious - the beef, sliced pork belly with mashed garlic, and the chicken with black truffle soup dumplings. We’ll definitely be back when we’re back to NYC, and recommending this place to everyone that visits
We got pumpkin, wagyu, and classic pork dumplings, wagyu noodles, duck spring rolls, passionfruit tea, and mangosteen lychee tea. We were blown away at how delicious the cabbage with chili oil was, and it's complimentary when you sit down. We're trying to figure out how to make it at home because we need it in our lives but can't drive down to NYC often lol. Everything was absolutely delicious!! The staff were super nice, especially when my fiance accidentally spilled his drink on the floor. The menu is on an tablet they give you. All the items have pictures, which is super helpful! And you can add things to your cart like you're shopping. You send it to the kitchen and a server comes and confirms the order with you. Definitely coming back here!
This is hands down the BEST Chinese restaurant in NYC — and I don’t say that lightly. If you’re looking for truly authentic Chinese food, Jiangnan is the place. What makes it so special is that it’s not limited to one region; here you’ll find dishes from Beijing, Shanghai, Canton, and Sichuan, all executed beautifully. On our most recent visit, we ordered some of our all-time favorites: 清炒丝瓜 (stir-fried loofah), 江南小笼包 (soup dumplings), 红油抄手 (wontons in chili oil), 蒜泥白肉 (sliced pork belly with garlic sauce), 桂花糯米藕 (sticky rice stuffed lotus root with osmanthus), 黑松露脆豆腐 (crispy tofu with black truffle), and 银耳羹 (white fungus dessert soup). Every single dish was perfection — fresh, flavorful, and made with such care. The balance of flavors, the textures, and even the presentation always remind me of home-cooked meals but elevated to something unforgettable. Jiangnan also holds a very special place in our hearts. When my husband and I were just dating, the very first family dinner with my mom happened here. Now, years later, after marriage and countless meals together, we just came back for what must be our 20th visit — again with my mom. The consistency and warmth of this restaurant have been part of our family story. If you want an authentic, heartfelt Chinese dining experience in New York, this is your go-to spot. Jiangnan is not just a restaurant — it’s a place where memories are made, one incredible dish at a time.
OMG the lab skewer is so juicy and it melts in your mouth. Dipping in the spicy chili powder on the side adds additional flavor to it. Highly recommend! The jelly fish cold dish is a great appetizer to have while waiting for the entree. Pork liver were also very tender and juicy. BTW, their Sichuan pickled cabbage is so addicting, spicy and sour, I just can’t stop eating it.
I stumbled upon this place and instantly fell in love with the vibe. It’s such a beautiful spot. warm, stylish, and inviting. We were seated right away, and the host greeted us with genuine friendliness. Our waiter came over almost immediately, explained the menu, and served us lemon water before we even had to ask. Ordering drinks through the tablet was surprisingly fun and easy. I went with the mixed fruit tea, while my boyfriend tried the rice wine. Both drinks were presented beautifully and tasted just as good as they looked. For food, we started with the pork dumpling soup, which was comforting and flavorful. The deep fried tofu was perfectly crisp on the outside, soft inside and very well seasoned. The kimchi fried rice were bold, tangy, and addictive definitely a must-try. To top it all off, we had the crème brûlée for dessert, and it was flawless: creamy, smooth, with that satisfying caramelized sugar crack on top.Overall, this place struck the perfect balance of atmosphere, attentive service, and thoughtfully prepared food. It’s the kind of spot you can enjoy on a casual night out but still feels special. Highly recommend!
We took our sons and parents to Jiang Nan NYC, and the experience was truly memorable. The food was absolutely fantastic — we ordered the duck along with several other dishes, and everything was incredibly fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Even our kids were so impressed they asked to come back again! The ambiance was elegant but welcoming, and the service was excellent from start to finish. It’s easy to see why this restaurant is a Michelin recommendation — it definitely deserves the recognition. Jiang Nan is one of those places that lives up to the hype, and we’re so glad we added it to our NYC food list. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Chinatown!

Awesome place we stumbled upon. Michelin star rated for 2022-2024. Amazing soup dumplings and peking duck.

Really good chinese food. Peking duck is magnificent. Starters very nice, more than enough choice. Very friendly service.
Authentic Sichuan flavors done right. The la zi ji was perfectly crispy with a bold, fragrant heat, and the mapo tofu was rich, silky, and deeply flavorful without being overly greasy. You can tell they don’t water down the spice. Service was friendly and attentive, and the overall experience felt warm and welcoming.
The restaurant displays Michelin notes from 2022-2025 at the entrance. It's usually busy and may require a short wait. The interior is clean and traditional rather than fancy. The steamed dumplings were tasty. Overall, a solid spot for Chinese cuisine lovers.
The service is very quick! Order from a tablet, food comes out soon after. We ordered the green beans (highly suggested, as someone who doesn’t like green beans), beef tendon, half duck, and the mushroom soup. It was enough food, and we did eat everything. Great for a quick early weekend or weeknight dinner, 2-4 people is a great size for this spot.
Fast service, and the Peking duck--while it could have been crispier--was still delicious. A great spot for a nice meal. Would definitely return.

Heard great things about this place and their Peking duck and finally decided to come. We came during lunch time and the place wasn’t too busy. The interior was nice and they had iPads for ordering which was convenient. The service on the other hand needs work. We ordered multiple dishes and the food was dropped off at the table, besides that no staff checked in on us afterwards. The food was ok, the duck wasn’t the highlight of the dishes we had, but the tofu and the shrimp was pretty good. The cauliflower was also nicely made.
