About 6 months ago, I was looking for a roommate online. I did the typical ‘let’s meet in this place first just in case you’re creepy’. Crosta gave us such a lovely atmosphere and service that helped us both be comfortable and honest in an otherwise scary interview/ meeting. She has now been THE BEST roommate for 6 months and that might not have happened if not for crosta. :) thank you crosta!!
Got to try this place during a soft open event. There is really nothing like this pizza in the neighborhood!! Great flavor combos, delicious crust and friendly staff! Highly recommend checking it out soon!
I love this place SO much. The food (pizza and salads) are incredible and the people working are so kind. Love the vibe and wine prices. 10/10 recommend
This is our favorite, family-friendly restaurant in Park Slope. The pizza is great and so are the cocktails! My favorite drink is “when life gives you lemons”- order it!
So good that even our two kiddos will eat everything including the crust! Slightly understaffed so sometimes there can be a bit of a wait but all of the staff is very friendly.
One of the best pizzas in Park Slope. Their individual pies are light and come in amazing combinations of ingredients and toppings, like Umami Explosion and Chorizo and Manchego. They also serve Panuozzo with porchetta and their sandwiches are extraordinary. I couldn't recommend Crosta enough, such a great addition to the neighborhood.
Amazing place. The service was exquisite . The Waitress was very polite and nice. The food was amazing and i enjoyed my time here with my friend Beqiri. Looking forward to come back again and try new foods at this great place. I liked the cappucino a lot and the pizza was delicious...oh how clumsy of me I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THE BEST SORBET ON EARTH. The Waitress reccomended it for me (same as for the pizza) and didnt fail to dissapoint.
Croata is my go-to spot when I’m craving good pizza. I’ve tried both their normal and gluten-free pies, couldn’t tell much of a difference. So if you’re gluten-free, try their pies! My absolute favorites: Margherita D.O.P, Ortolana, Tratufata and Umami Explosion
Best gluten free crust I’ve ever had! Even heated up the next day. It was so good I had to ask twice to make sure it was gluten free. And the service was really nice !
Fantastic pizza! Thin crust, crisp but still chewy. The Umami Explosion was amazing! I had my reservations because it lacked meat but it still packed plenty of meaty flavor. Highly recommend! We also had the calamari and the olive oil cake, both excellent as well!
honestly… so good. we live in the neighborhood and have been coming since they opened. the people who own it & who work there are lovely. their pizza is consistently delicious and reasonable prices. vibes here are “come as you are.” great place to sit outside on a summer evening.
Excellent service, genuine & nice vibe. Tasty food, good drinks! Very family friendly. My one critique is that for such a family-friendly place they should really have a changing table but they do not as of last time I inquired(June 2024)
We have now been here three times and LOVE this place. We live in the neighborhood and we’re so excited when we saw a pizza place opening. Aside from amazing pizza, their wings are phenomenal! If you aren’t in the mood for pizza, try their fried chicken sandwich - so good. The staff is so friendly and they’ve accommodated us with our stroller every time we have been here. As big pizza people we are very picky about brick oven and this place is top notch! While still BYOB don’t let them go unnoticed. So worth carrying your own 4 pack.
Went here with my friends for dinner in June. The food was great! Super cute, and not too loud either.
This is the perfect family dinner spot. We’ve been 4-5 times now and always enjoy it. The food is great. Highly recommend the polpetine meatballs and pepperoni alla diavola pizza. Drinks have always been quality too. Beyond that, the atmosphere is warm and friendly. They are always happy to seat us with a toddler - and bring out a plastic cup and crayons. Seems simple, but makes us feel welcome. Staff is friendly, kind and accommodating. Couldn’t ask for a better experience.
After strolling the Botanical garden and Prospect Park, we stopped in for lunch. What a great find! We had wings to start and they were delicious. We then ordered 2 pies. The Margarita DOP and the porkbelly. Both were fantastic! Loved them so much, we got an extra pie to go! Great, friendly staff, especially our waiter James! Keeping Crosta on my list for when I’m back in Brooklyn.
Probably the best Neapolitan pizza in the neighborhood. The crust is beautiful and the ingredients they use are fresh and flavorful. Sauce is great. MUCH better pizza than Bar Toto and Ottava. If you're in the neighborhood and are craving a Neapolitan-style pie, Crosta should be your first choice. Great salads and drinks, too!
Really excellent Neapolitan style pizza here, with a fluffy, chewy sourdough crust and strong topping options.
Best pizza in the neighborhood, period. I do want to suggest they change the American country music in the background and make this place less like an average tavern. Also the waitresses are all weird in their own way, but I don’t mind.
AMAZING gluten free pizza, and the vegan cheese was pretty good too! It actually melted, and didn't taste like plastic like so many other vegan cheeses. But ohmygosh the crust was out of this world amazing, it tasted like real pizza!
Great Service, Food and Setting. Beansprouts Nursery School celebrated our end of the year with lunch here. Pizza very high standard, salad super tasty, gelato light and delicious. Thank-you for amazing meal We loved it!
Pizza was great. The dough had great consistency. The donuts for dessert should be a regular menu item. Ambience is definitely kid friendly.
Absolutely fantastic pizza, and wonderfully friendly service (with inexpensive, great wine to boot). The crust is fantastic, which makes sense considering how they make it. The first pizza was so good, we got the Tartufata pizza for desert! Highly recommend this place.
I don’t normally write reviews but I’m making an exception. My husband is Italian and we were looking for a good pizza for a while. We live nearby so we stumbled upon it and decided to give it a shot since it looked good. This has become our absolute go-to, it is truly excellent.
This is one of the most impressive restaurants I've dined at. Everything was excellent as can be, from the moment I was greeted by the hostess, given kind attentive service by the waitress, to the ambience -- which included sturdy modern seating and relaxing music. Not to mention the food was fabulous. So yea.
The BEST gluten free pizza I have ever had! Might even top glutenous pizzas I’ve had before. I got the margherita and added their homemade chili oil and Parmesan (softest Parmesan I’ve ever had…it just melts on the pizza) Yummm. Try this!
Outstanding service, cozy and romantic ambiance, stacked bar, delicious and surprising pizza (the dough is sourdough dough!), and the 🎶 playlist slaps. Shout out to the pistachio pesto truffle pizza and the anchovy olive pizza (both of which the two of us comfortably demolished so one pizza per person is a wize order). Will be back to try the umami pizza which was admittedly intimidating but still very intriguing … so don’t take it off the menu soon!
Had a really lovely meal at Crosta. The service was wonderful and the food was excellent. Our only issue was that we were sitting outside and when it got dark, we could barely see. There were some small lights on the walls but there was really no ambience, no vibes. It’s such a cute spot but such a shame they don’t do more to make the outside area cute.
The sour dough pizza was really nice . What made our visit over the top was how patient and understanding the staff is. Kid friendly restaurant makes it even harder to provide quality service . The staff was very attentive and extremely patient with each tables needs. We had 2 pizzas, but we need to come back and try the rest of the menu. Nice place doing good things
We Just moved a cuple of months ago and this place became our new favorite neighborhood pizzeria, we really like Danny boy service !! Highly recommended.
Really delicious sourdough style crust pizza. Probably the best pizza in the style on this side of Park Slope. I was apprehensive when they first moved in (because like others have mentioned, this would be the third Italian spot in the immediate area), but the pizza really stands out. Service was a bit sporadic since it was quite busy the night I visited, but overall a great experience.
My mom and I had a lovely experience the other day when we came in, we were nervous about trying a new place, but EVERYONE was awesome. The staff were super kind, helpful and capable. Our food was delicious and super fresh! We had the calamari, the margarita DOP, and the ice cream special! Everything was standout, and I know we will go again!!!!
I’m actually obsessed with this pizza. Everything is great honestly. Arancini and salads great and drinks too. But the pizza really stands out. The dough is so amazing. It’s fluffy and crispy at the same time. Everything is well portioned. The first time we came here the place was empty and we were confused how could this be since it’s so amazing. If I lived nearby I’d be here every weekend.
We grabbed a table by the window facing 6th avenue. Sidewalk seating wraps around the corner. Menus and tap water were set down right away. Drinks included a Peroni and the 'Cool as a Cucumber' made with vodka, lime juice, simple syrup, cucumber and fresh mint. The cocktail was cool, dry and refreshing making it perfect for a hot summer day. The Arancini were plated with a ladle of their house marinara and a healthy amount of shaved parmesan. They had a nice crunch and were the perfect temperature. The filling was deliciously herbal, nutty and cheesy. Check out the video for the cheese pull! The Polpetine were plated the same way and included a gooey ball of burrata. These hand formed meatballs were tangy and juicy. Add a forkful of the burrata and you'll be in heaven. The Ortalana pizza was delicious! We asked for half with no cheese. The crust had just the right amount of char and was sturdy enough to hold all the vegetables. I will definitely order this again on my next visit. I had the Crosta Burger cooked medium. The gorgonzola, caramelized onions and arugula hit all the right notes. An unusually dark brioche bun soaked up all the juices. The fries were perfectly cooked and had a nice snap with every bite. It came with a side of ketchup, but I opted for the vinaigrette already on the table. The Pasta Al Forno was served in what looked like a small ramekin. It was dense, rich and packed with flavor. I strongly recommend ordering this to share because you will need a nap afterward. The ambiance was cool and casual. The playlist was on point and the service was excellent.
I wanted to take a moment to commend the exceptional service provided by Danny, our table attendant here. Despite the bustling atmosphere, Danny's diligence and attentiveness stood out. He efficiently attended to multiple tables, ensuring everyone received top-notch service. Now, onto the pizzas. We ordered a variety, including two white pizzas and one red. Personally, I have a penchant for anchovies on my pizza, so we opted for the red one with anchovies. However, I found this pizza to be my least favorite. The anchovies seemed to impart a fishy flavor that permeated the tomato sauce, detracting from the overall taste. Surprisingly, the pizza improved significantly when reheated the next day. Overall, while the pizza didn't quite meet my expectations, the standout service from Danny made our dining experience enjoyable.
We were there yesterday. Absolutely wonderful dinner experience with my parents and my boyfriend . I haven't make any review for any restaurant so far, but I wanted to do it for here. The guy who served us,we asked for his name, but I'm sorry I forgot. Service was great, staff wonderful, food so incredibly tasty. We had salad and 3 different pizzas and was spectacular, great wine list. Really nice and cute place. Last but not least, I would definitely recommend. ❤️❤️
This is my new favorite place, I’ve been twice in the last few weeks and I can’t wait to go back again!! We got a salad, gf pizza, and chocolate cake with homemade gelato for dessert. Gluten free crust is actually incredible btw Vibes & Service 10/10 Food 10/10
The pizza is just great, they have outdoor sitting which was nice for a summer night. Great service as well.
Good vibe, quiet spot, pizza and wings were good and the dessert was great too
Crosta was great. Their pizza is absolutely delicious! Different! Pizza with an Argentine twist & unusual toppings, thinner crust without being thin & crispy. Atmosphere is old & rustic & warm & inviting & informal, good for families & children or just two! Will go back try other dishes.... Dianne
The pizza is absolutely delicious, one of my very favorite crusts! But I was inspired to leave this review after the excellent service my friends and I received at dinner yesterday. The staff was clearly busy, full inside and outside, with just one server, a bartender, and a busser. Even so, the service was quick, friendly, and attentive. We started outside bc it was a nice day, but my underdressed friends quickly realized it was a little chilly for them. After having a couple drinks and salad, our server moved us inside with no problems and was really kind about it, didn't make us feel like a hassle at all. Anyway, I don't leave a lot of reviews but I was so impressed with them I really felt the need to say something!
I have celiac, so I have to eat gluten-free. I found this place because of the reviews and wow it didn't disappoint. I got the Margherita pizza, and it was the best gf pizza I've had. I didn't have a reaction. The waiter was so friendly, and the customer service was A+. Music was great, too. Definitely coming back.
Great spot! Only thing is, it’s a bit kid-heavy, but our dinner was on point. Food was delicious, loved the pizzas and salads. Big thanks to Daniel for the top-notch service- super friendly and professional. We’ll be back and I’d definitely recommend it!
Amazing sourdough pizza, delicious gluten free pizza (flavorful and crispy) + friendly service. We’ll definitely be back!
Excellent pizza, excellent salads, very good service, very nice atmosphere. We come here often, and we’ve never been disappointed.
Very good. I’ve tried gluten free pizza from all over brooklyn. This place is one of the best. Salads are great too.Friendly staff and good service.
My family and I went here for some delicious pizza. The arancini were delicious! Really flavorful and a good portion to split amongst us. The drinks are also great, and they have an excellent selection of wine. Anything with the fior de latte cheese is actually amazing, so I definitely recommend any pizza with that.
We had the prosciutto and burrata appetizer to start and then the Pepperoni Alla Diavola and the Tartufata pizzas. The pepperoni pizza was a little too heavy on the hot peppers, but otherwise everything was excellent, the crust is thin and crispy. We went on a Monday night so it was pretty slow, but staff was really nice.
This was such a a great restaurant! The pizza was amazing, great texture and delicious sauce. It was the best pizza I've ever had in NYC. They also had this really good chili oil at every table which elevated the pizza. They had great drinks, and I got a capchino for dessert and it was really good. The staff was very friendly, our waitress in particular was super nice and sweet. The atmosphere was great, everyone was having a good time and the decor was really appealing. Very clean bathrooms and quick service. Definitely returning next time I'm intown.
We were craving pizza and after some research, found this place. Their sourdough pizzas are amazing! We ordered the Margherita and the one with potato and eggs—both were absolutely delicious. I also tried their berry mocktail, which I highly recommend. The service was smooth, and our server was very friendly. 10/10!
We stumbled along this little awesome place when a restaurant across the way was a little rude to us... So Happy we did, my sister and I found a beautiful place we plan to revisit.. From the food to the service to the quant little table outside, we thoroughly enjoyed our dining experience.. w from what we were told by the owner who came out to chat w us, which was very nice. They try to change the menu to keep it different and aligned w the seasons and offer specials that reflect that true Italia taste. Our Waitress was a doll and we had a wonderful time visiting this place. Definitely going back to try other plates.
My daughter has been here several times with her husband and son, and loved it. I was fortunate to stop by last Sunday for brunch. Best ricotta pancakes I’ve ever had in my life, great service, incredible playlist! And besides that, one of the cleanest restaurant bathroom so I’ve been in in a long time!!!!
Before we even discuss the food can we just say the service is EXCELLENT! Okay on to location and food. This little place looks like a romcom film set and is on the corner of 6Ave and 12th. Right in the Park slope cinematic universe. For the locals this is truly a place to grab some delicious food, be tended to by super helpful and attentive staff and just overall unwind. For being on a corner, one can easily carry on a conversation outside with guests as it is not loud at all. Although I've finished my meal and am enjoying a coffee, i can't help but think that I'd love to stay longer! The food, for tonight's dinner it was Margarita D.O P. Which. Is a step up from your traditional margarita that includes fresh burrata , pecorino and basil. Hands down a delicious addon to the classic. It would be to easy to eat the whole pie... But alas i peaked at the dessert and had to save room. Dessert was a home made torta de olió which was just right - not overly sweet and lemon and poppy seed cake with an oil and lemon cream... My coffee lovers out there will be happy to know the shots that they're pulling for the Americano and latés are balanced too . Yup, there will be many return trips here! Bon appetit ! Also, the service is EXCELLENT! ---- Been back several times since the initial review. Still incredible.
Great experience. Went Friday at 6, made a reservation quickly before because things looked to be filling up. Servers very helpful and friendly. Recommend one pizza per person. Place seems very family friendly: lots of families with small children were there when we were and there was also a removable toddler seat in the restroom. Pizzas were delicious and loved the spicy oil. Prices fair for quality. Sourdough crust was divine!
Went around 6pm on a Thursday and it was empty, just us almost the entire meal. Food was fine-I’d skip apps and just get a pizza. Drinks ok. Maybe go for the patio vibes when it’s sunny
We’ve ordered from Crosta several times. Five stars for the hospitable staff, 5 stars for the Neapolitan style pies, but zero stars for the itty bitty $13 shredded kale Caesar that we got to go. Either half the price or double the portion.
Great staff, very good pizza. Traditional neapolitan style. Dough was sourdough, which was unique and very flavorful. Sauce was disappointing. Pretty bland. Good toppings. 7.5 on a Dave scale.
This newish spot in the neighborhood is a welcome addition. We've been here several times. We like the outdoor seating, the casual vibe, and the friendly staff. -The pizzas which are the main attraction here are excellent all around, no complaints. -I always like a good burger and appreciated the short rib burgers, but the buns were unspectacular (served cold rather than toasted). For an $18 burger I expect attention to detail—I want my buns lightly toasted and buttered. I like a bacon option etc. The fries were standard. The Crosta Burger is the best of their offerings. Very tasty despite my quibbles. The menu is a bit limited. By our third visit we were hoping for more options. We would like to see more antipasti options and more main courses—even if it was a daily special— it would be nice sometimes to have something to choose from: (Milanesas, pastas, maybe a chicken or a steak). I want this restaurant to succeed (I live close by). It seems to be figuring out what it wants to be. Is it a pizza & burger joint, or is a proper Italian restaurant (similar to Sarafina in the city)? Either way, I'll keep giving it my business and hoping it keeps getting better. It's nice to see 6th Ave restaurants back in business.
I went here with my partner to celebrate our anniversary. We shared the MARGHERITA D.O.P ( margherita pizza, burrata cheese, pecorino, and basil) and DI PARMA (mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, parmigiano). The dough on both pizzas was incredible. The margarita was good but the burrata was a bit odd as a topping because it was cold. The Di Parma was way too plain and dry (there was cheese on it, but no sauce). For dessert I ordered vanilla gelato. The texture was incredible but the flavor was rather bland, the vanilla flavor was not very strong. All in all, the crust of the pizza was what really stood out, everything else was mediocre. Our waitress was excellent though!
Great food, very good service, good drinks. I went solo for dinner, I had the vegetarian lasagna, it was great, one of the better Italian dishes I've had in this country. My dessert was affogato, it was ok, a little too busy for my tastes. Drinks. Cocktails were good, and very strong. Wine was ok, my Cabernet was nothing special but a solid choice. Service was good. When I visited it was close to closing, and the restaurant was relatively empty. So I had three different wait staff, which was disconcerting. All in all a local gem.
I thought the food was surprisingly good (given how commoditized Italian food can sometimes be)! The vegetarian lasagna was pure deliciousness and the salad with hearts of palm was also very nice. The umami pizza was good - I think other guests loved it even more than I personally did, but it got me excited to try some other pizzas here too. The outdoor seating was delightful and the service was very nice (if a bit slow to take our order and bring the check).
This place was really impressive to me. The atmosphere was very cool and relaxed. The servers were really nice. I honestly loved the vibe I got from the place. The appetizers were very interesting, but we settled for the arancini. It was really tasty, small in portion and not enough of the sauce. That sauce was actually amazing and wished there was a butch to dip each piece into. We got the special pizza and it kind of blew my mind? The speck and apple was a killer combo and drizzled with the spicy oil they brought it was great. The only downsize about it was there was TOO much arugula for my taste, maybe if it was chopped up and spread around more. Last but not least, the drink. I've never had an affogato before, but this was GOOD. Very strong in both the expresso and alcohol and it tasted amazing. Easily the best part of the night. I think everything overall wasn't that bad but for the price I really wanted more. As far as I remembered the only pasta option at the time was lasagna and It would of been tight to have the arancinis over a bed of pasta with a ton more of that delicious sauce. Definitely wouldn't mind coming back for a couple drinks and some za.
The pizza Margherita tasted good. I wasn't too thrilled with the yellow hue throughout the cheese on the pizza. I am wondering whether the R110 enzyme was prominent, or was the tint due to a cheese blend. I also had the pesto arancini appetizer. Unfortunately, the centers were much colder than the hot exterior. The saving grace here was the bed of heated sauce that the arancini was served on, which although spicy - was quite hot. Sadly, I don't see myself returning. I expected more.
The place was very busy when we came, we waited 20-30 minutes for a table on a Friday night. Once we were seated the service was quick and attentive. The place has a good amount of outdoor tables and pretty small inside. The food was good. The arancini was delicious, excellent pesto, well-cooled risotto. The pizza with the pork belly was outstanding, the scallions really added a lot. The margherita pizza was just ok, the sauce could have used more flavor. All pizzas are made with sourdough.
Pizza was wonderful. had the buffalo margarita and it had the right crust. sweet sauce. really good cheese and great basil. The only thing lacking was the size, it was oddly shaved with a really out of proportion crust so it looked comical and tastes a little like what you would expect from a slice. we also had a arancini AKA rice balls and they were also good but we had an incident where they overcrowded the restaurant and a lady knocked into our drink and it spilled all over my wife. however, they were kind enough to give us the rice balls for free. overall, it's more like a piece of joint that happens to have service
I made the mistake of ordering the $17 cheeseburger. It’s like a slider! 4oz?... Came well done when ordered med rare. I’ve always liked this place but that price for that burger is a joke.
Very good pizza - light and fresh. Also ordered the burger, which was of good quality and flavor but a little too charred making it somewhat bitter. Nice people and quick service but the loud pop radio music was disruptive, and listening closely, not so family friendly. Would I return, yes for sure at some point, but honestly speaking - and this has nothing to do with this restaurant per se - there are way too many pizza and Italian restaurants in the neighborhood. I can think of ten within a few minute walk…. Costa would be well advised to expand their offering beyond pizza, as they have seemingly done already.
Sauce is sweet, cheese wasn’t melted and low quality, crust was undercooked and chewy. Way better pizza in Brooklyn than Crosta. 2 stars because service was good and the place was clean.
We Got excited when we saw the reviews of this place, but unfortunately we had a very bad experience, the food nothing to complain the red pizza and the white one it was so good !, but the staff was very distracted, although we saw many people working in the place, we only received attention when the food came out to our table, of course thanks to that we could enjoy the food , but then no one asked us about Anything we needed, my friends wanted more drinks among other things, but we only had our waitress when she took our order and at the end of the food that if we needed the bill, unfortunately with these situations we will never go back!!
I got a small portion salad for $19. Dry salad and they gave me a little container dressing. Barely cheese and like small piece of chicken. Not worth it at all, overpriced for no reason you’re better off getting a salad somewhere else for sure!!!! Oh and they don’t even give utensils!! Yes I am 100% it was from your location. I got a receipt. & I went directly to the place to pick up my order.
Service great at the start ,no one checked on us after or during the meal …but I was really let down. The place was empty inside but somehow the pizza came out so cold,I couldn't enjoy it at all. Every bite the dough was so cold I don’t know why ,it wasn’t even luke warm, so strange. Really put me off. The wine was also really flat. Couldn’t drink it. Didn’t have a great experience sadly , really wanted to love this place but I would save the money for another spot if you wanted to give this spot a try, it just wasn’t it at all. Waited forever to get the check also when multiple people are staring at us by the POS .
Don’t waste your money. We got two pizzas and they were the soggiest/squishiest pizzas I’ve ever had. You can’t even pick up a slice without all the toppings sliding off into a puddle of grease. We also ordered a kale salad that was maybe 1/4 of the size they offer in the restaurant. I called to ask how $1 worth of ingredients that couldn’t even satisfy the appetite of one person could possibly be $13 and they said they would send another salad to my home (since I had already picked the pizzas up and walked one block back to my home) as expected they never showed up. Very disappointing and a complete waste of $70.
I don't usually leave reviews, but for some reason the pizza was so cold and stale. Don't waste your money!
Don’t waster ur time nor money, we wasted our Friday dinner waiting for a pizza for me and my hungry son, not sure if this was done on purpose, but shame to have such fake reviews of this neighborhood spot! Why? I had me give my son snacks and order a pizza from another place, at this point, any other pizza in Park Slope would be better than the burnt stew we received and trashed, never again. Never again will I order again from this place & don’t want any other mama to go through this.
